The spring system functions as a pivotal element of the check valve, with its compression performance significantly influencing the valve's time, flow stability, and other characteristics. Taking cues from conventional springs, a refined rectangular helical spring with integrated support features was thoroughly evaluated for its compression performance. The design approach for this spring was elucidated, encompassing the utilization of the Finite Element Method (FEM) to model its compression behavior. Additionally, a laboratory configuration was implemented to authenticate the findings derived from the FEM simulation. Subsequently, a comparative investigation was carried out between an engineered spring and a conventional spring subjected to analogous processing. The comparative analysis unveiled that the support-featured spring exhibited a diminished lateral offset of 2.84 mm (equivalent to a reduction of 10.1 %) and a force-displacement curve with narrower vibration intervals and smaller amplitudes. Moreover, it exhibited an enhanced force feedback of 17.5 % under identical compression displacement conditions.

Abstract Objective The aim of this study is to evaluate an AAV vector that can selectively target breast cancer cells and to investigate its specificity and anti-tumor effects on breast cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo, offering a new therapeutic approach for the treatment of EpCAM-positive breast cancer. Methods In this study, a modified AAV2 viral vector was used, in which EpCAM-specific DARPin EC1 was fused to the VP2 protein of AAV2, creating a viral vector that can target breast cancer cells. The targeting ability and anti-tumor effects of this viral vector were evaluated through in vitro and in vivo experiments. Results The experimental results showed that the AAV2MEC1 virus could specifically infect EpCAM-positive breast cancer cells and accurately deliver the suicide gene HSV-TK to tumor tissue in mice, significantly inhibiting tumor growth. Compared to the traditional AAV2 viral vector, the AAV2MEC1 virus exhibited reduced accumulation in liver tissue and had no impact on tumor growth. Conclusion This study demonstrates that AAV2MEC1 is a gene delivery vector capable of targeting breast cancer cells and achieving selective targeting in mice. The findings offer a potential gene delivery system and strategies for gene therapy targeting EpCAM-positive breast cancer and other tumor types.

Due to the increasing train axle load, running speed and traffic volume, rails are prone to severe rolling contact fatigue (RCF) defects. Repairing the rail profile by milling is the latest technology to solve the above hidden problems, but there are few related studies in recent years. In this paper, the milling maintenance process of rails is studied by using finite element method(FEM). This study examines the fracture behavior of U71Mn steel rail under various stress triaxiality conditions, temperatures, and strain rates. An electronic universal testing machine is utilized to conduct the experiments, and a Johnson-Cook (J-C) failure model for U71Mn steel rail is developed. A 3D cutting simulation model was developed using the Johnson-Cook (J-C) combined constitutive model. The accuracy and reliability of the numerical simulation model were confirmed by comparing the cutting force and chip morphology obtained from both simulation and experimental results. The cutting simulation model had an error rate of within 10 % when predicting the cutting force. Following that, the fracture zone and chip portion of the tensile specimen were metallographically analyzed. The applicability of the ductile failure criterion in describing the observed failure in the U71Mn rail has been proven.

Considering the excellent properties of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), the demand for this material in semiconductor manufacturing equipment has been rapidly growing in recent years. PTFE parts with special shapes can be efficiently produced by mechanical cutting methods. The main objective of the present study is to conduct turning experiments to evaluate the cutting performance and surface quality of pure PTFE. In this regard, the mechanism of the chips’ formation, cutting temperature, and cutting force were analyzed to study the cutting behavior and cutting performance. Moreover, the subsurface damage of the finished surface was investigated to evaluate the surface quality. The obtained results show that the continuous type of chips was formed in all cutting conditions. When the cutting temperature varied in the range of 40.8–57.9 °C, the cutting force varied in the range of 2.3–25.2 N. The deepest subsurface damage layer was 123.17 μm when the cutting depth and the feed rate were set to 1.0 mm and 0.1 mm/r, respectively. Considering the chip formation, cutting temperature, cutting force, surface quality, and machining efficiency as the main affecting parameters, it is found that the ideal feed rate and cutting depth at the spindle speed of 800 r/min were 0.5 mm/r and 0.8 mm, respectively.

Background: The heterogeneity of osteoarthritis (OA) significantly limits the effectiveness of pharmacological treatments in an unselected patient population. In this context, the identification of OA subtypes is meaningful for the development of therapies that target specific types of OA pathogenesis. Methods: Expression array profiles of 70 OA and 36 control synovial samples were extracted from the GEO database. Unsupervised consensus clustering was performed based on the most variable genes to identify OA subclusters. Next, Joint samples from OA patients were obtained. We divided the OA patient into two subpopulations according to synovial ADCY7 levels. Synovium and cartilage samples from different OA subpopulations were evaluated. In addition, we established a high-fat diet (HFD)-induced rat OA model. We evaluated OA progression, lipid metabolism, synovitis and fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) function in this HFD-induced OA model. Results: 70 OA patients were categorized into three distinct subclusters. We noted that one subcluster was characterized by synovial lipid metabolism disorder GO terms. We further identified the most noticeable KEGG pathway “Regulation of lipolysis in adipocytes” in this subcluster as well as the most significantly differentially expressed gene, ADCY7. We found that the ADCY7 high expressing group (32.6%) exhibited features of synovial inflammatory lipolysis epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) tendency, as well as faster join space narrowing. The HFD induced OA-like degeneration in rat joints. We observed similar synovial inflammatory lipolysis and EMT in FLS, characterized by higher proliferative and invasive activity and elevated proinflammatory and procatabolic properties. ADCY7 was highly expressed in the synovium of the HFD-OA model rats and the inhibition of ADCY7 effectively attenuated these HFD-induced degenerative changes as well as synovial inflammatory lipolysis and FLS dysfunction. In HFD-FLSs, ADCY7 promoted the phosphorylation of PKA as well as its downstream lipid droplet-associated protein PLIN1 and hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL). The inhibition of PKA largely alleviated ADCY7-mediated HFD-FLS dysfunction. Conclusions: We described a synovial EMT and lipid metabolism disorder in the pathogenesis of OA. This novel mechanism may represent a currently undefined OA subtype. ADCY7 is a potential molecular marker of this pathomechanism. The Translational potential of this article: Utilizing synovial samples from OA patients, we identified a subpopulation with high ADCY7 expression. This may represent a currently undefined OA subtype and explain the clinical phenomenon of more severe synovial inflammation in obese OA patients. In addition, we established an HFD-induced OA rat model and found an upregulation of ADCY7 in the synovium. We confirmed that the inhibition of ADCY7 could effectively attenuate HFD-induced degenerative changes as well as the inflammatory lipolysis and FLS dysfunction observed in the rat model. This suggests that ADCY7 and its downstream pathways are potential pharmacological targets for treating this lipid-metabolism-disorder-related OA mechanism.

Abstract Background N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most prevalent modification in mRNA in biological processes and associated with various malignant tumor initiation and progression. The present study aimed to construct a prognostic risk model based on m6A-related genes (the downstream genes influenced by m6A modulators) for LUSC. Methods Based on TCGA, we stratified LUSC patients with and without genetic alteration of m6A modulators into altered and unaltered groups. Using univariate Cox and Lasso regression analyses, we identified prognostic m6A-related genes to construct a prognostic risk model. We then applied a multivariate Cox proportional regression model and the survival analysis to evaluate the risk model. Moreover, we performed the Receiver operating characteristic curve to assess the efficiency of the prognostic model based on TCGA and GSE43131. We analyzed the characteristics of tumor-associated immune cell infiltration in LUSC through the CIBERSORT method. Results Three m6A-related genes (FAM71F1, MT1E, and MYEOV) were identified as prognostic genes for LUSC. A novel prognostic risk model based on the three m6A-related genes was constructed. The multivariate Cox analysis showed that the prognostic risk model was an independent risk factor (HR = 2.44, 95% CI = 1.21~3.56, p = 0.029). Patients with a high-risk group had worse overall survival both in TCGA (p = 0.018) and GSE43131 (p = 0.00017). The 1, 2, and 3-year AUC value in TCGA was 0.662, 0.662, and 0.655, respectively; The 1, 2, and 3-year AUC value in GSE43131 was 0.724, 0.724, and 0.722, respectively. The proportion of infiltrated neutrophils in the high-risk group was higher than that in the low-risk group (p = 0.028), whereas that of resting NK cells (p = 0.002) was lower. Conclusion A novel prognostic risk model based on three m6A-related genes for LUSC was generated in this study.

Background It is unclear whether the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) OTX2 antisense RNA 1 (OTX2-AS1) plays a pivotal role in gastric cancer (GC). An analysis of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database data and bioinformatics was used to explore the relationship between OTX2-AS1 and GC in the current study. Methods We evaluated the relationship between clinical features and OTX2-AS1 expression, prognostic factors, and the significant involvement of OTX2-AS1 in function using various statistical methods, such as Kaplan–Meier method, Cox regression analysis, Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA), and immune infiltration analysis. GC cell lines were tested for OTX2-AS1 expression using qRT-PCR. Results A high level of OTX2-AS1 expression was significantly and negatively associated with Helicobacter pylori ( H pylori ) infection in GC patients ( P = .006) and predicted a poorer overall survival (OS) (HR: 1.54; 95% CI: 1.10-2.14; P = .011), progression-free interval (PFI) (HR: 1.75; 95% CI: 1.22-2.51; P = .002) and disease-specific survival (DSS) (HR: 1.85; 95% CI: 1.21-2.85; P = .005) in GC patients. There was an independent correlation between OTX2-AS1 expression (HR: 1.771; 95% CI: 1.164-2.696; P = .008) and OS in patients with GC. There were differential enrichments for the OTX2-AS1 high expression phenotype in the olfactory transduction, G alpha (s) signaling events, keratinization, olfactory signaling pathway, and preimplantation embryo. OTX2-AS1 expression may be related to certain immune-infiltrating cells. Compared to gastric epithelial cells (GES-1), GC cell lines showed a significant increase in OTX2-AS1 expression. Conclusion There was a significant association between OTX2-AS1 expression in GC patients and poor survival, suggesting that it may be a useful biomarker for prognosis and immunotherapy outcome of stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) in GC.

Zirconia has occupied an increasingly important role in oral clinical applications in recent years. However, how to achieve the ideal bonding effect of zirconia is a significant problem that needs to be solved urgently in oral clinics. Hot etching treatment of zirconia is a hot spot of current research, but it is still unclear about the optimal acid solution and the effect of hot etching on the surface topography and bond strength of zirconia. This study evaluated the effect of hot etching with HF and HCl on the surface topography, roughness, crystalline phase, zirconia/resin cement interfacial evaluation and shear bond strength of zirconia. The results showed that the hot etching groups produced completely different topographical changes on the surface of zirconia than the sandblasting group. Obvious interfacial cracks were observed in the sandblasting group. The HF hot etching group achieved the highest roughness values (78.17 ± 4.94 nm) and the highest shear bond strength (25.09 ± 4.09 MPa). Compared with HCl, hot etching with HF could achieve more uniform and dense porous morphology, greater roughness and shear bond strength. Moreover, there were no prominent zirconia/resin cement interfacial cracks and crystal phase transformations on the surface of zirconia.

Semiconductor cleaning system ultra-clean flow control pumps are critical equipment in the semiconductor industry. Among them, the perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA) spring is a pivotal component to control the pump, and its dynamic performance is crucial to ensure the efficient operation of the system. However, the dynamic performance of the spring is often affected by the operating frequency. This paper studied the effect of different working frequencies on the dynamic property of the spring through compression-cycle experiments under uniaxial sinusoidal excitation. The force–displacement curves under different compression frequencies were fitted to obtain the dynamic stiffness of the PFA spring under different cyclic loading frequencies. The variation in the spring’s hysteresis coefficient was evaluated using the hysteresis curves of different cyclic loading conditions. After 2 million compression experiments, the changes in dynamic stiffness, hysteresis coefficient, and spring height were investigated. The obtained results revealed that, as the frequency increases, the dynamic stiffness of the spring increases. The hysteresis coefficient of the PFA spring is the largest at 10 Hz and the smallest at 6 Hz. Upon conducting 2 million compression tests, it was discovered that the dynamic stiffness experiences the greatest attenuation rate of 4.19% at a frequency of 8 Hz, whereas the hysteresis coefficient undergoes the largest attenuation of 42.1% at a frequency of 6 Hz. The results will help to improve the design and application level of PFA springs.

Traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) can be applied to obtain the spectral-spatial feature information from hyperspectral images (HSIs). However, they often introduce significant redundant spatial feature information. The octave convolution network is frequently utilized instead of traditional CNN to decrease spatial redundant information of the network and extend its receptive field. However, the 3D octave convolution-based approaches may introduce extensive parameters and complicate the network. To solve these issues, we propose a new HSI classification approach with a multi-scale spectral-spatial network-based framework that combines 2D octave and 3D CNNs. Our method, called MOCNN, first utilizes 2D octave convolution and 3D DenseNet branch networks with various convolutional kernel sizes to obtain complex spatial contextual feature information and spectral characteristics, separately. Moreover, the channel and the spectral attention mechanisms are, respectively, applied to these two branch networks to emphasize significant feature regions and certain important spectral bands that comprise discriminative information for the categorization. Furthermore, a sample balancing strategy is applied to address the sample imbalance problem. Expansive experiments are undertaken on four HSI datasets, demonstrating that our MOCNN approach outperforms several other methods for HSI classification, especially in scenarios dominated by limited and imbalanced sample data.

ObjectiveAberrant activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling contributes to the maintenance of cancer stem cells and chemoresistance in colorectal cancer (CRC). Retinoic acid-induced 2 (RAI2) was proved to be a tumor suppressor in CRC in our previous report. In this study, the role of RAI2 in Wnt/β-catenin signaling was further investigated.MethodsAs a transcriptional co-regulator, C-terminal Binding Protein 2 (CtBP2) was reported to be involved in Wnt signaling in multiple and complex ways. The correlation of RAI2 and CtBP2 in CRC was analyzed by TCGA dataset, and the interaction between RAI2 and CtBP2 was explored by co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) in CRC cells. The effect of RAI2 on the activity of Wnt signaling and the location of β-catenin was detected by Dual-Luciferase reporter assay and Immunofluorescence respectively. Western blotting analysis was performed to detect the expression of target genes involved in Wnt signaling. Sphere formation assay was employed to detect the effect of RAI2 on stem cell like properties. Cell viability assay was used to detect the chemosensitivity of cells before and after transfection of RAI2.ResultsThe interaction between RAI2 and CtBP2 was confirmed by Co-IP in CRC cells. Besides, the negative correlation of RAI2 and CtBP2 in CRC was found by analyzing the TCGA dataset. Re-expression of RAI2 in human colon cancer cells (HCT116 and LoVo) suppressed the fluorescent activity of Wnt signaling, increased the phosphorylation and inhibited nuclear translocation of β-catenin, with down-regulation of target genes like c-Myc, CyclinD1, ASCL2, and LGR5. In contrast, the mutated RAI2, which can’t interact with CtBP2, has no above effects. Lynch syndrome (LS) is a cancer-predisposing genetic disease mediated by pathogenic mutations in DNA mismatch repair (MMR) genes MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, and PMS2. Accumulating evidence demonstrates that there is significant biological heterogeneity across MMR genes. Compared to MLH1 and MSH2, PMS2 variant carriers have a much lower risk for LS-related cancers. Tumors in MLH1 and MSH2 variant carriers often display MMR deficiency (dMMR) and/or high microsatellite instability (MSI-H), two predictive biomarkers for immunotherapy efficacy. However, tumors in PMS2 variant carriers are largely microsatellite stable (MSS) instead of MSI. Therefore, the optimal management of cancer patients with LS requires the integration of disease stage, MMR gene penetrance, dMMR/MSI status, and tumor mutational burden (TMB). In this work, we presented a locally advanced lung cancer patient with dMMR/MSI-H/TMB-H tumor and selective loss of PMS2 by immunohistochemistry. Germline testing revealed a rare PMS2 splicing variant (c.1144+1G>A) in the proband and his healthy daughter. The diagnosis of LS was made based on genetic analysis of this variant and literature review. Given the incomplete penetrance of PMS2, the proband and the carrier received tailored genetic counseling. To reduce cancer risk, the proband received four cycles of nivolumab plus chemotherapy and achieved a disease-free survival of sixteen months.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is extensively used in equipment used for manufacturing semiconductor components and wet etching equipment. However, achieving ideal dimensional accuracy when cutting PTFE is challenging. In this study, we performed cutting experiments using a curvilinear tool and analyzed cutting force, cutting temperature, groove width, and surface roughness in PTFE grooving. The results indicated that the cutting force was most notably affected by the feed rate in Stage I of grooving. The rate of change in cutting force was the largest in Stage II because of the increase in the tool contact area. In Stage III, the shear area of the rake face was the largest, and the cutting force tended to be stable. The groove width was measured with a minimum error rate of 0.95% at a feed rate of 0.05 mm/rev. Moreover, the groove exhibited a time—independent springback. The minimum groove surface roughness was 0.586 at a feed rate of 0.05 mm/rev. The ideal feed rate was 0.05 mm/rev with groove width, surface quality, and chip curl as the key parameters. The processing parameters obtained in this study can be applied to actual production for the optimization of manufacturing accuracy.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plays an important role in semiconductor manufacturing. It is an important processing material for the key sealing components in the field of immersion lithography. The lack of research related to the mechanical processing of PTFE leads to many challenges in producing complex parts. This paper conducted a drilling experiment on PTFE. The effect of cutting parameters on the drilling performance was investigated. Thrust, torque, surface roughness, and drilling temperature were used to evaluate the influence of cutting parameters on drilling performance. In addition, the empirical mathematical models of thrust and torque were developed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results indicated that the spindle speed had the most important effect on the thrust and the feed rate had the most significant effect on the torque. The lowest values of thrust and torque were, respectively, 22.64 N and 0.12 Nm, achieved in the case of spindle speed of 5000 rev/min, and feed rate of 50 mm/min. The surface quality is also best at this cutting parameter. Studies have shown that higher spindle speeds with lower feed rates are ideal parameters for improving the drilling performance and machining quality of PTFE. In addition, it was found that the temperature differences due to different drilling depths were related to chip accumulation. Surface roughness inconsistencies at various locations in the inner wall of the hole were influenced by chip adhesion during machining. This paper provides a suggestion for optimizing cutting parameters and hole quality.

Achilles tendon rupture prognosis is usually unsatisfactory. After the tendon is injured, it may not function properly because of the fibrotic healing response, which restrains tendon motion. Inflammatory monocytes and tissue-resident macrophages are indispensable regulators in tissue repair, fibrosis, and regeneration. Exosomes from macrophages are crucial factors in tissue microenvironment regulation following tissue injury. This study therefore aimed to clarify the roles of macrophage exosomes in tendon injury (TI) repair. The results show that macrophages play a role after TI. M1 macrophages were increased relative to peritendinous fibrosis after TI. High-throughput sequencing showed abnormal expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs) between exosomes from M2 and M0 macrophages. Among the abnormal expressions of circRNA, circRNA-Ep400 was significantly increased in M2 macrophage exosomes. The results also show that M2 macrophage-derived circRNA-Ep400-containing exosomes are important for promoting peritendinous fibrosis after TI. Bioinformatics and dual-luciferase reporting experiments confirmed that miR-15b-5p and fibroblast growth factor (FGF)-1/7/9 were downstream targets of circRNA-Ep400. High circRNA-Ep400-containing exosome treatment inhibited miR-15b-5p, but promoted FGF1/7/9 expression in both fibroblasts and tenocytes. Furthermore, high circRNA-Ep400-containing exosome treatment promoted fibrosis, proliferation, and migration in both fibroblasts and tenocytes. Taken together, the results show that M2 macrophage-derived circRNA-Ep400-containing exosomes promote peritendinous fibrosis after TI via the miR-15b-5p/FGF-1/7/9 pathway, which suggests novel therapeutics for tendon injury treatment.

The evolution of contact performance of electrical connectors, as an expression of service performance, played a significant role in various electronic equipment or system. However, very few methods had been used to detect the evolution of contact performance effectively and accurately. Hence, in this research, reliability accelerated testing was conducted to investigate the evolution of contact performance of electrical connectors. To detect the evolution of contact performance, contact resistance and friction and wear of the connector were measured using a DC resistance tester and an electron microscope respectively. Also, the effect of external conditions such as ambient temperature, mating speed, mating cycles was statistically investigated, and evolution curves were developed for contact resistance and abrasion loss. The obtained results revealed the temperature and mating speed affected the contact performance of electrical connectors. The increment of temperature reduced the shear strength of material and increased the thickness of oxide film. Increased mating speed greatly increased the probability of fracture of micro-protrusion due to collision, the wear form of connector had realized transition from low-speed adhesive wear to high-speed peeling wear. In addition, when the connector was mated about 3000 cycles, the contact performance of the connector would be greatly decreased.

Abstract Background Comparison of the shaping ability of advanced nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) instruments is of great interest to the field of endodontics. However, the models used to study canal preparation still lack uniformity, relevance to reality and complexity. The aim of this study was thus to compare the shaping abilities of the ProTaper Next (PN) and WaveOne (WO) Ni-Ti instruments in three-dimensional (3D)-printed teeth, which may overcome the present defects of most real teeth and model teeth including 3D S-shaped canals. Methods Six teeth and their corresponding 3D-printed replicas were prepared using the same kind of Ni-Ti instrument. The pre- and post-preparation volumes, surface areas and transportation of the canals were measured to compare the teeth with their replicas. Twenty 3D-printed teeth with S-shaped canals were used to support the preparation study. The S-shaped canals were then scanned to measure their volumes and surface areas. Next, the two kinds of instruments were used to prepare the 3D-printed canals (n = 10 per group). The volume and surface area of the canals, the transportation along the two curvatures and the percentage of unprepared surface area were measured. Micro-CT and VGstudio2.2 (VG2.2) software were used to perform scans and collect data throughout the research. The paired-samples T test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used for statistical analysis. Results There was no significant difference between the real canals and the printed ones post-preparation (P > .05). The printed S-shaped root canals had a unified shape, with a small standard deviation and range. The WO group had higher mean values for the volume and superficial area measurements compared with the PN group (P .05). PN caused less transportation at the apical curve than WO did (P

For an airborne passive radar with contaminated reference signals, the clutter caused by multipath (MP) signals involved in the reference channel (MP clutter) corrupts the covariance estimation in space-time adaptive processing (STAP). In order to overcome the severe STAP performance degradation caused by impure reference signals and off-grid effects, a novel MP clutter suppression method based on local search is proposed for airborne passive radar. In the proposed method, the global dictionary is constructed based on the sparse measurement model of MP clutter, and the global atoms that are most relevant to the residual are selected. Then, the local dictionary is designed iteratively, and local searches are performed to match real MP clutter points. Finally, the off-grid effects are mitigated, and the MP clutter is suppressed from all matched atoms. A range of simulations is conducted in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death throughout the world. The demand for new therapeutic interventions is increasing. Although pharmacological and surgical interventions dramatically improve the quality of life of cardiovascular disease patients, cheaper and less invasive approaches are always preferable. Biomaterials, both natural and synthetic, exhibit great potential in cardiac repair and regeneration, either as a carrier for drug delivery or as an extracellular matrix substitute scaffold. In this review, we discuss the current treatment options for several cardiovascular diseases, as well as types of biomaterials that have been investigated as potential therapeutic interventions for said diseases. We especially highlight investigations into the possible use of conductive polymers for correcting ischemic heart disease-induced conduction abnormalities, and the generation of biological pacemakers to improve the conduction pathway in heart block.

Bulletproof ceramics are usually hard and brittle with high elastic modulus, high compressive strength, and low tensile strength. While machining bulletproof ceramics, severe tool wear makes it difficult to obtain desired machining quality and efficiency, especially in hole drilling. In this work, an intensive experimental study on the overall wear rate of the sintering diamond thin-wall core bit during the hole drilling of Al2O3 bulletproof ceramics (99 wt.%) has been carried out. The quality loss of the bit after each hole drilled was selected for representing the overall wear rate of the bit. Based on experimental data, the influences of the main bit performance and machining process parameters on the overall wear rate of the bit have been analyzed. According to the results discussed, under the test conditions, finer diamond grit, higher diamond concentration, lower number of water gaps, thinner wall thickness, or lower bit load all can decrease the wear rate of the bit. However, within a certain range, the spindle speed has little influence on the overall wear resistance of the bit, but when the spindle speed increases, the machining efficiency can be significantly improved. The results obtained in this work can offer a valuable reference for the use of sintering diamond thin-wall core bits in the hole drilling of bulletproof ceramics.

A predictive model was proposed for determining the high-temperature free height of perfluoroalkoxy alkane springs in air-operated double-bellow pumps with the aim of investigating their relaxation. The model incorporates classical spring deformation theory and considers the material, structure, and real-world operating conditions of the perfluoroalkoxy alkane springs. Experimental validation of the model is also conducted. This study examines the effects of varying temperatures and pre-compression values on the relaxation of perfluoroalkoxy alkane springs’ free height. It collects relaxation curves under different temperatures and various pre-compression conditions. The results indicate that spring relaxation increases with higher temperatures when there is no precompression. Furthermore, increasing pre-compression at the same temperatures leads to greater spring relaxation. Pre-compression has a more significant impact on spring relaxation. By comparing the experimental data with the simulated curve generated by the model, it is evident that the predicted spring free height relaxation closely aligns with the actual measurements. This verification demonstrates the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed model in evaluating the relaxation of perfluoroalkoxy alkane springs’ free height. Moreover, the model provides a valuable tool for predicting the lifespan of similar perfluoroalkoxy alkane springs in engineering applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
