As the use of buoyant swimwear by children in residential swimming becomes more common, the investigation of the effects of buoyant textiles is crucial for the optimisation of functional buoyant clothing design. This study investigated buoyant knitted fabrics developed using an inlaid knitting technique for buoyant swimwear application. The impact of the inner diameter, outer diameter, and the linear density of the inlaid tube on the buoyant ability of the buoyant fabrics was analyzed using multiple linear regression. The result demonstrated that the fabric's net buoyant force was significantly affected by all three parameters, with inner diameter having the greatest effect, followed by the outer diameter and linear density of the inlaid tube. The increase in the net buoyant force of the fabric can be predicted by the increase in the inner diameter of its inlaid tube and linear density and decrease in the outer diameter. The divergence of the results for specimens inlaid with Silicon tube and from the result predicted by multiple linear regression indicates that the net buoyant force is also affected by the linear density and the wall thickness of the inlaid tube. The new knowledge of this study can contribute to the production of buoyant layers inside the buoyant swimwear in replace of air chambers to improve the limitation of non-distributed buoyancy, accidental punctuation and bulkiness in conventional buoyant swimwear. The use of children's buoyant swimwear has become more common. However, its bulkiness and hardness restrict the wearer's movement. For better fit, comfort and mobility, a knitted buoyant swimming vest is developed. It is compared with two market samples using subjective evaluation according to the Functional, Expressive and Aesthetic (FEA) Consumer Needs Model and laboratory tests of objective measurements. The results of a paired-sample t -test show that a tightly fitting buoyant swimming vest should be worn out of water, as the vest becomes a perfect fit in water. Tests on the knitted buoyant swimming vest demonstrate improved functionality and higher buoyancy than that of two market samples conforming to British Standard EN13138-1:2014. The results of repeated measures analysis of variance show an overall significant higher satisfaction level in the knitted buoyant swimming vest than two market samples in terms of fit, comfort and mobility. The morphological joint fractional Fourier transform correlator (MJFTC), as a modified nonlinear joint fractional Fourier transform correlator (JFTC), is introduced in this paper. An optoelectronic setup that can implement such a nonlinear JFTC is advised and constructed. We investigate the correlation properties of the MJFTC using computer simulation and optical experiments. Numerical and experimental results show that the MJFTC exhibits remarkable improvement in terms of discriminability and peak sharpness compared with the classic JFTC. Moreover, the MJFTC provides better noise tolerance to the salt-and-pepper noise or normally distributed white additive noise than the JFTC and the other nonlinear processing or fractional-order filtering JFTC. Aim: To seek for new components as BACE inhibitors from Aloe arborescens., Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated by chromatographic methods and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral analysis., Results: Eight compounds were isolated and their structures identified as 6'-O-isobutyryl aloenin A (1), aloenin A (2), aloe-emodin (3), (E)-2-acetonyl-8-(2'-O-feruloxyl)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-7-methoxy-5-methyl-chromone (4), 7-O-methylaloeresin A (5), babarloin A (6), elgonica-dimer A (7), and elgonica-dimer B (8), separately., Conclusion: Compound 1 is a new compound, and compound 4 was isolated from A. arborescens for the first time. Pharmacological tests indicated that 2, 4, 5 and 6 have moderate inhibitory active on BACE.

Aim: To study chemical constituents of the aerial parts of Rhamnus crenatus sieb. et zucc., Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated by chromatographic methods and their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral analysis., Results: Five compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as crenatoside (1), torachrysone (2), emodin (3), emodin-1-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4) and beta-sitosterol (5) respectively., Conclusion: Compound 1 is a new compound and the others were isolated from Rhamnus crenatus for the first time.

Objective: To study the chemical constituents from n-butanol extracts of Periploca calophylla., Method: The constituents were isolated and purified by chromatographic technology and their structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical property and spectroscopic methods., Result: Eight glycosides were isolated and identified as periplocin (I), kaempferol 3-alpha-D-arabinoside (II), kaempferol 3-O-beta-D-glucoside (III), 3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavanone-2(S)-3'-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (IV), (+)-syringaresinol-4'-O-beta-D-monoglucoside (V), 1-sinapoylglucoside (VI), erigeside C (VII), 2,6-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenol 1-O-beta-D-glucoside (VIII)., Conclusion: All the compounds were isolated for the first time from this plant.

Objective: To study the chemical constituents from Hemiphragma heterophyllum., Method: The constituents were isolated and purified by chromatographic technology and their structures were elucidated by physico-chemical evidence and spectral data., Result: Eight compounds were isolated and identified as hemiphroside C (I), plantainoside E (II), hemiphroside A (III), acetoside (IV), globularin (V), 10-(Z)-cinnamoyl-catapol (VI), iso-scrophularioside (VII), cinnamic acid (VIII)., Conclusion: Compound I was a new phenylethanoid glucoside and compounds II and VI were isolated for the first time from this plant.

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents of Securinega suffruticosa., Method: It was isolated and purified by silica gel chromatography. Their structures were elucidated by means of spectral analysis., Result: Four compounds were isolated and identified as ent-phyllanthidine (1), virosecurinine (2), 14,15-dihydrovirosecurinine (3) and viroallosecurinine (4)., Conclusion: All of four compounds were isolated from S. suffruticosa for the first time and were the enantiomers isolated from this plant before.

Aim: To investigate the chemical components of Boswellia carterii., Methods: Chromatographic technologies were used for separation and purification, while spectral analysis was used for structure elucidation., Results: Six compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as acetyl-alpha-boswellic acid (1), acetyl-beta-boswellic acid (2), lup-20(29)-ene-3 alpha-acetoxy-24-oic acid (3), alpha-boswellic acid (4), beta-boswellic acid (5) and acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (6)., Conclusion: Compound 3 is a new constituent.
