7. Reconstruct the evolution of Milankovtich cycle in Paleozoic and Proterozoic and Earth-Moon separation history

Abstract

At present, it is difficult to obtain numerical astronomy solutions prior to 50 Ma , which should be two reasons for this. First, the solar system's chaotic behavior, namely, small initial disturbances will greatly affect the results of the numerical model of the earth orbit. Second, we do not fully understand the evolution history of the Earth-Moon separation, that is the distance versus time series. Recently, a new method called "TimeOptMCMC" has been successfully applied to invert the paleo-astronomical parameters of Cenozoic (~55Ma) and Proterozoic (~1400Ma). However, only two case studies cannot show the complete evolution process, and there is a lack of suitable way to model and discuss the Earth-Moon separation process. Therefore, in this study, we perform TimeOptMCMC analysis on four well-studied sections’ proxy sequences to enrich the eccentricity and precession estimates in Paleozoic and Proterozoic. At the same time, we innovatively use a simple continuous Markov monotone stochastic process to reconstruct the Earth-Moon separation history from 2465 Ma to present. Meanwhile, based on the reconstructed Earth-Moon separation simulations, we calculate the tidal drag factor which represents the history of tidal dissipation in the Earth-Moon system. Our results improve the estimates of palaeoastronomical parameters in the Paleozoic and Proterozoic, providing results with good constraints for tuning cyclostratigraphy in ancient era. Further, we corroborate the previous inference that the Earth-Moon system has a long-term low tidal dissipation, give the Earth-Moon system’s dissipation history trend with stepwise characteristic at large scale, and provide a comparison with other tidal models.

Abstract

Abstract: We report an efficient hole injection layer (HIL) composed of MoO3-doped C60 for organic light-emitting diodes (OLED). The structure of the OLED device is ITO/MoO3:C60 (5nm:5nm)/NPB (45nm)/Alq3 (55nm)/LiF (0.5nm)/Al. Compared with normal device without a HIL, the device using MoO3-doped C60 as HIL can significantly enhance both hole injection efficiency and electroluminescence. The power efficiency has been increased by approximately 40.7% and 41.7% at the current density of 10mA/cm2 and 100mA/cm2, respectively, for the device using MoO3-doped C60 as HIL than the control device. The cause for the enhancement was ascribed to the charge transfer complex formed by co-evaporation of MoO3 and C60. Hole-only devices were fabricated to confirm the hole injection enhancement. Ultraviolet/visible/near-infrared absorption spectra were measured to confirm the formation of the charge transfer complex. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

9. Earth-Moon dynamics from cyclostratigraphy reveals possible ocean tide resonance in the Mesoproterozoic era.

Abstract

Cyclostratigraphy is an important observational window into the history of the Earth-Moon system. However, there is limited information from the Mesoproterozoic era (1.0 to 1.6 billion years ago); accordingly, only weak constraints on Earth-Moon separation and tidal dissipation are available for this time. To close this knowledge gap, we analyze cyclostratigraphy from the Yemahe Formation (~1.2 billion years ago), Wumishan Formation (~1.5 billion years ago), and Chuanlinggou Formation (~1.6 billion years ago) in China. We use a Bayesian inversion method to analyze the three cyclostratigraphic sections. We combine previous results with these three estimates to construct an updated Earth-Moon system evolution and tidal dissipation history after 2.5 billion years ago. The results show a tidal dissipation peak that is consistent with the model predictions within the error range but also that there may be an additional resonance fluctuation in the Mesoproterozoic era.
