By using the solar magnetic field data of Wilcox Observatory from 1975 to 2010, the short-time periodicities of solar mean magnetic fields during solar maximum and minimum years are analyzed. The results reveal that the solar magnetic fields mainly exhibit the approximate periods of 9 d, 13 d, and 27 d. During maximal solar activity the period about 27 d is most conspicuous, while during minimal solar activity the most evident period is approximately 13.5 d (except the solar minimum in the years 1984-1986). These results imply that solar active regions exhibit evidently different distributions in the periods of maxima and minima of solar activity.

The needed electrical current for the magnet working under different energy loads can be easily calculated once the right relation between the magnet and the electrical current has been found. Therefore the excitation curve calibration for the magnet system is important to the SSRF. The measuring method on the magnet and the result of the excitation curve calibration are presented. The application of the excitation curve calibration for the bending magnet is given, and it is proved that the COD (Closed Orbit Distortion) and the working point of the storage ring are greatly affected by the current of the bending magnet.

The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF) is a low emittance third-generation synchrotron radiation light source. Some optics parameters of the storage ring were measured when commissioning. This report presents the common methods for measuring some optics parameters of the storage ring, including the betatron tune, beta function, chromaticity, natural chromaticity and dispersion. The results and analysis of measurement for the optics parameters are given here, which are indispensable for the orbit correction of the accelerator and the nonlinear optimization.

Phase I commissioning of the SSRF storage ring on 3.0 GeV beam energy was started at the end of December 2007. A lot of encouraging results have been obtained so far. In this paper, calibrations of the linear optics during the commissioning are discussed, and some measured results about the nonlinearity given. Calibration procedure emphasizes correcting quadrupole magnetic coefficients with the Linear Optics from Closed Orbit (LOCO) technique. After fitting the closed orbit response matrix, the linear optics of the four test modes is substantially corrected, and the measured physical parameters agree well with the designed ones.

In order to improve the precision of MEMS gyro, the MEMS gyro denoising method based on second generation wavelet transform is investigated in this paper. After introducing the principles and establishment of the second generation wavelet transform, a wavelet thresholding de-noising method based on the lifting scheme wavelet transform is used to remove the random drift of three axis MEMS gyro. The denoisng method we used showed good performance in speed and a little better precision compared to conventional wavelet thresholding schemes. The experimental results and analysis indicate that the lifting denoising can effectively reduce the random drift error of MEMS gyro and can be used in real time system.
