Abstract

In the current software development environment, third-party libraries play a crucial role. They provide developers with rich functionality and convenient solutions, speeding up the pace and efficiency of software development. However, with the widespread use of third-party libraries, associated security risks and potential vulnerabilities are increasingly apparent. Malicious attackers can exploit these vulnerabilities to infiltrate systems, execute unauthorized operations, or steal sensitive information, posing a severe threat to software security. Research on third-party libraries in software becomes paramount to address this growing security challenge. Numerous research findings exist regarding third-party libraries' usage, ecosystem, detection, and fortification defenses. Understanding the usage and ecosystem of third-party libraries helps developers comprehend the potential risks they bring and select trustworthy libraries. Third-party library detection tools aid developers in automatically discovering third-party libraries in software, facilitating their management. In addition to detection, fortification defenses are also indispensable. This article profoundly investigates and analyzes this literature, summarizing current research achievements and future development directions. Abstract

A system of 5,020 robotic fiber positioners was installed in 2019 on the Mayall Telescope, at Kitt Peak National Observatory. The robots automatically re-target their optical fibers every 10 - 20 minutes, each to a precision of several microns, with a reconfiguration time less than 2 minutes. Over the next five years, they will enable the newly-constructed Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) to measure the spectra of 35 million galaxies and quasars. DESI will produce the largest 3D map of the universe to date and measure the expansion history of the cosmos. In addition to the 5,020 robotic positioners and optical fibers, DESI's Focal Plane System includes 6 guide cameras, 4 wavefront cameras, 123 fiducial point sources, and a metrology camera mounted at the primary mirror. The system also includes associated structural, thermal, and electrical systems. In all, it contains over 675,000 individual parts. We discuss the design, construction, quality control, and integration of all these components. Abstract

DESI (Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument) is a Stage IV ground-based dark energy experiment that will study baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) and the growth of structure through redshift-space distortions with a wide-area galaxy and quasar redshift survey. To trace the underlying dark matter distribution, spectroscopic targets will be selected in four classes from imaging data. We will measure luminous red galaxies up to $z=1.0$. To probe the Universe out to even higher redshift, DESI will target bright [O II] emission line galaxies up to $z=1.7$. Quasars will be targeted both as direct tracers of the underlying dark matter distribution and, at higher redshifts ($ 2.1 < z < 3.5$), for the Ly-$\alpha$ forest absorption features in their spectra, which will be used to trace the distribution of neutral hydrogen. When moonlight prevents efficient observations of the faint targets of the baseline survey, DESI will conduct a magnitude-limited Bright Galaxy Survey comprising approximately 10 million galaxies with a median $z\approx 0.2$. In total, more than 30 million galaxy and quasar redshifts will be obtained to measure the BAO feature and determine the matter power spectrum, including redshift space distortions.

Abstract

DESI (Dark Energy Spectropic Instrument) is a Stage IV ground-based dark energy experiment that will study baryon acoustic oscillations and the growth of structure through redshift-space distortions with a wide-area galaxy and quasar redshift survey. The DESI instrument is a robotically-actuated, fiber-fed spectrograph capable of taking up to 5,000 simultaneous spectra over a wavelength range from 360 nm to 980 nm. The fibers feed ten three-arm spectrographs with resolution $R= \lambda/\Delta\lambda$ between 2000 and 5500, depending on wavelength. The DESI instrument will be used to conduct a five-year survey designed to cover 14,000 deg$^2$. This powerful instrument will be installed at prime focus on the 4-m Mayall telescope in Kitt Peak, Arizona, along with a new optical corrector, which will provide a three-degree diameter field of view. The DESI collaboration will also deliver a spectroscopic pipeline and data management system to reduce and archive all data for eventual public use.

19. Secretory Function of Kupffer Cells in Liver Cancer After Cryoablation

Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of Kupffer cells (KCs) secretion on HCC cells after cryoablation and its mechanism. Methods Sixteen groups were divided:37℃ control group, three hypothermia groups(0℃, 5℃, 10℃), freeze-thaw necrotic substances group, three combined stimulation group and 8 parallel groups for each group. In the 8 parallel groups, pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(PDTC) was added, and the final concentration was 100 μmol/ml. The concentration of TNF-α, IL-1β and INF-γ in 16 groups of KCs supernatant were determined by Elisa method. The expression of NF-κB protein in each group was detected by Western blot. Results The secretion of inflammatory factors TNF-α, IL-1β and INF-γ increased after combined stimulation of KCs with hypothermia and freeze-thaw necrotic substances (P0.05), but the expression of NF-κB protein in the combined stimulation group and freezethaw necrosis substances group were significantly up-regulated (P0.05). The concentrations of TNF-α, IL-1β and INF-γ were positively correlated with the expression of NF-κB protein in the culture medium of KCs (r ≥ 0.870, P=0.000). Conclusion Freeze-thaw therapy could enhance the function of KCs secretion cytokines, and to a certain extent, it could induce inflammatory response and eliminate tumor cells. The secretion function of KCs may play a role through NF-κB signaling pathway.

23. Seismic Anisotropy Estimation Using a Downhole Microseismic Data Set in a Shale Gas Reservoir.

Abstract

Shale anisotropy has a significant impact on the data processing and interpretation of microseismic monitoring in shale gas reservoirs. A geology- and rock-physics-constrained approach to estimating shale anisotropy using down-hole microseismic data sets is proposed in this study and is applied to the case of Horn River shale. A priori knowledge of shale anisotropy is obtained by integrating geological analyses and rock physics studies. This knowledge serves as an important constraint when building the initial model, minimizing the uncertainties and evaluating the results. The application to Horn River shale shows that the optimized anisotropic velocity model reduces the time misfit by about 65% compared to the originally provided velocity model. As the relocated perforation shot indicates, the event locations are significantly improved. The results also show that a high fraction of clay mineral results in strong fabric anisotropy in the Fort Simpson formation, whereas the quartz-rich shale gas reservoirs (Muskwa and Otter Park formations) show weaker fabric anisotropy. The percentage of velocity anisotropy in Horn River shale can be up to 40%. The fabric anisotropy of shale derived from the downhole microseismic data set is comparable with that of laboratory experiments. This demonstrates that downhole microseismic monitoring, as a quasi in situ experiment, has the potential to contribute to a better understanding of subsurface anisotropy beyond the laboratory. In addition, microseismic measurements of shale anisotropy are conducted in the seismic frequency band and are thus more applicable for further seismic applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Background: Ropivacaine, a local anesthetic, exhibits anti-tumor effects in various cancer types. However, its specific functions and the molecular mechanisms involved in breast cancer cell stemness remain elusive. Methods: The effects of ropivacaine on breast cancer stemness were investigated by in vitro and in vivo assays (i.e., FACs, MTT assay, mammosphere formation assay, transwell assays, western blot, and xenograft model). RNA-seq, bioinformatics analysis, Western blot, Luciferase reporter assay, and CHIP assay were used to explore the mechanistic roles of ropivacaine subsequently. Results: Our study showed that ropivacaine remarkably suppressed stem cells-like properties of breast cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. RNA-seq analysis identified GGT1 as the downstream target gene responding to ropivacaine. High GGT1 levels are positively associated with a poor prognosis in breast cancer. Ropivacaine inhibited GGT1 expression by interacting with the catalytic domain of AKT1 directly to impair its kinase activity with resultant inactivation of NF-κB. Interestingly, NF-κB can bind to the promoter region of GGT1. KEGG and GSEA analysis indicated silence of GGT1 inhibited activation of NF-κB signaling pathway. Depletion of GGT1 diminished stem phenotypes of breast cancer cells, indicating the formation of NF-κB /AKT1/GGT1/NF-κB positive feedback loop in the regulation of ropivacaine-repressed stemness in breast cancer cells. Conclusion: Our finding revealed that local anesthetic ropivacaine attenuated breast cancer stemness through AKT1/GGT1/NF-κB signaling pathway, suggesting the potential clinical value of ropivacaine in breast cancer treatment. In this paper, based on embedded system, we use Marching Cubes algorithm to realize 3D image reconstruction and furthermore, display the result in web page. By introducing principle and whole process of reconstruction, we can prove that comparing with personal computer, this method has advantage of lower price, small volume, and has good prospect in future.

Abstract

The MPEG video data includes three types of frames, that is: I-frame, P-frame and B-frame. However, the I-frame records the main information of video data, the P-frame and the B-frame are just regarded as motion compensations of the I-frame. This paper presents the approach which analyzes the MPEG video stream in the compressed domain, and find out the key frame of MPEG video stream by extracting the I-frame. Experiments indicated that this method can be automatically realized in the compressed MPEG video and it will lay the foundation for the video processing in the future.
