Chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) are among the most common noncommunicable diseases globally, with high morbidity and mortality rates. Acupuncture, a treatment method derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been shown to be effective at treating CRDs, with little risk of adverse effects. Scientific research on the mechanisms underlying the effects of acupuncture, especially, its immune regulatory function, has rapidly advanced in recent years. Herein, the diverse immune regulatory mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of acupuncture are summarized from the perspectives of innate immunity, adaptive immunity, and neuroimmunity. A better understanding of these mechanisms will ultimately provide a scientific basis for the clinical use of acupuncture for the treatment of CRDs.

Hemophagocytic lymphocytosis (HLH) is a rare disease caused by inborn errors of immunity (IEI), secondary to infection, lymphoma or autoimmune disorders, but we often overlook the fact that HLH can be secondary to inborn errors of metabolism (IEM). Here, we describe a patient who was diagnosed with glutaric aciduria type IIC complicated by features suggestive of possible HLH. The diagnosis of glutaric aciduria type IIC, a IEM, was confirmed by whole exome sequencing. The patient was treated with coenzyme Q10 and riboflavin which effectively improved her liver function. During treatment, the patient developed severe anemia and thrombocytopenia. Persistent fever, splenomegaly, cytopenias, increased ferritin, hypertriglyceridemia, hypofibrinogenemia, and hemophagocytosis in the bone marrow pointed to the diagnosis of HLH; however, the patient eventually died of gastrointestinal bleeding. After other potential causes were ruled out, the patient was diagnosed with glutaric aciduria type IIC complicated by features suggestive of possible HLH. When cytopenias occurs in IEM patients, HLH is a possible complication that cannot be ignored. This case suggests a possible relationship between IEM and risk for immune dysregulation.

[ES] Uno de los daños más comúnmente encontrados en los metales arqueológicos son los faltantes matéricos de diferentes tamaños. En la intervención, para la estabilidad de la pieza y su correcta legibilidad, es necesario el tratamiento de reintegración volumétrica de estos faltantes. A lo largo de la historia, diferentes países han empleado distintas técnicas y materiales para la reintegración de las lagunas en metal arqueológico. Con el desarrollo de la ciencia y la tecnología, en la actualidad, existe un amplio abanico de nuevos materiales para la intervención de metales arqueológicos en todo el mundo, dentro de ellos, destacan las resinas sintéticas. En este trabajo, se ha realizado el estudio de seis masillas de relleno formuladas con tres tipos de resina sintética mediante envejecimiento acelerado por exposición a la radiación UV, cambios termo hídricos en cámara climática y en cámara con vapores ácidos. Se han estudiado tres masillas de resina epoxídica, una de ellas comercial, dos masillas de resina de poliéster, una comercial y otra artesanal, y una masilla de resina acrílica artesanal. Las probetas han sido estudiadas desde un punto de vista textural por Microscopía Óptica y químico por Espectroscopía Infrarroja por Transformada de Fourier (FT-IR), así mismo se han evaluado los cambios cromáticos y la dureza mediante colorimetría y medida de la dureza Shore, respectivamente. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos de los ensayos y análisis anteriormente mencionados, la resina acrílica es la que ha presentado un óptimo comportamiento con respecto al envejecimiento, por lo que con ella se ha realizado una segunda fase del estudio, elaborando diferentes masillas de resina acrílica con diferentes cargas inertes para buscar aquella que presenta mejor resultado tanto en el comportamiento tras el envejecimiento, como en el comportamiento mecánico, en concreto, la suficiente dureza para la reintegración volumétrica., [EN] One of the most common types of damage found in archaeological metals is the missing material of different sizes. In the intervention, for the stability of the piece and its correct legibility, the volumetric reintegration treatment of the missing parts is necessary. Throughout history, different countries have used different techniques and materials for the reintegration of missing parts in archaeological metal. With the development of science and technology, nowadays, many new materials have been used for the intervention of archaeological metals around the world. Among them, synthetic resins stand out. In this work, six fillers of three types of synthetic resin have been studied by accelerated aging by exposure to UV radiation, thermohydric changes in a climatic chamber and in a chamber with acid vapors. Three epoxy resin fillers, one of them commercial, two polyester resin fillers, one commercial and one handmade, and one handmade acrylic resin filler have been studied. The specimens were studied from a textural point of view by optical microscopy, chemically by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and the chromatic and hardness changes were also evaluated by colorimetry and Shore hardness measurement, respectively. According to the result obtained from the aforementioned tests and analyses, the acrylic resin is the one that has shown the best behavior with respect to aging, so a second phase of the study has been carried out with it, elaborating different acrylic resin putties with different inert fillers in order to find the one with the best results both in aging and in mechanical behavior, specifically, the sufficient hardness for the volumetric reintegration.
