The interaction integral method（IIM） is used to calculate stress intensity factors（SIF） of finite thickness semi-elliptical surface cracks. Results are compared with that predicted by the empirical equation and equivalent domain integral（EDI） method. The comparison with EDI method verifies computational accuracy of IIM for calculating 3 D crack problem. The SIF distribution along the semi-elliptical crack of different crack shape ratio and different finite thickness ratio conditions are calculated with the IIM and empirical equation. Relative error of empirical equation is evaluated. The results show that empirical equation produces larger error when the finite thickness ratio is large. Based on the analysis, the applicable range of the empirical equation is presented.

This paper employed a blending method to prepare a new hydrophilic and biocompatible magnetic polypropylene carrier (HBMPC) and pure polypropylene carrier (PPC). Mechanical strength, magnetic induction on surface, microstructure, hydrophilicity and biocompatibility of HBMPC were measured, characterized and investigated respectively. The results showed that mechanical strength of PPC and HBMPC was not much different; magnetic induction on the surface of HBMPC was 4-6 mT; HBMPC had relatively large surface roughness and specific surface; average water content of PPC and HBMPC was 47.1% and 64.7%, respectively; contact angle of PPC and HBMPC was 88.7° and 58.5°, respectively; adsorption capacity of HBMPC and PPC to microorganism was 5.40E + 05 and 5.70E + 04 cfu (g·h)−1, respectively. It took about 15 days for PPC to succeed in biofilm culturing while it took only 12 days for HBMPC. COD and removal efficiencies of PPC and HBMPC on the 15th day of biofilm formation were 80.5%, 90.5%, 63.7% and 85.4%, respectively; and growth status of microorganism adhering to the surface of HBMPC was better than that of PPC, biomass on single HBMPC and PPC after succeeded in biofilm culturing was 43.9 and 27.4 mg, respectively. Objective: To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of neurinoma of the head and neck., Method: The clinical data of 33 patients with neurinoma of the head and neck, from 1980 to 2004, were retrospectively reviewed and analysed., Result: The tumors of all the cases were totally resected. Thirty of thirty-three cases have been followed up. Twenty-seven cases were fully recovered without any serious complication. One case with malignant tumor were died. The other 2 cases were died of other diseases., Conclusion: Tumor resection is still the most effective treatment available for patients with neurilemmomas of the head and neck. Resection of tumor should be performed as soon as possible with careful protection of the function of the nerve. Extensive resection should be performed to treat malignant tumors.

Objective: To improve effectiveness of diagnosis and therapy in patients with tracheobronchial specific foreign body., Method: Fourty-six cases with specific foreign bodies in the trachea and bronchi, admitted from March 1998 to June 2006, were analyzed retrospectively., Result: Forty-one of 46 the specific foreign bodies were successfully removed through bronchoscopy. Three cases were removed by chest surgery. Two cases were died., Conclusion: Suitable surgical instrument should be well selected and the best operation should be applied according to different conditions of the foreign bodies. Rigid bronchoscopy for removal of specific foreign bodies under general anesthesia is a main measure presently.
