15. Highly Efficient Degradation of 2-Methylisoborneol by Laccase Assisted by a Micro-Electric Field.

Abstract

Taste and odor (T&O) compounds have emerged as crucial parameters for assessing water quality. Therefore, identifying effective methodologies for the removal of these compounds is imperative. In this study, an effective approach utilizing laccase assisted by a micro-electric field was developed for the degradation of 2-methylisoborneol (2-MIB). For this purpose, the optimal conditions for the laccase-catalyzed degradation of 2-MIB were determined, and they were pH 4.0, 25 °C, 150 rpm, 0.1 U/mL of laccase, and 200 ng/L of 2-MIB. Under these specified conditions, the degradation efficiency of 2-MIB was approximately 78% after a 4 h reaction period. Subsequently, the introduction of an electric field yielded a synergistic effect with the enzyme for 2-MIB degradation. At an electric current intensity of 0.04 A over a 4 h duration, the degradation efficiency increased to 90.78%. An analysis using SPME-GC/MS provided information on the degradation intermediates of 2-MIB resulting from laccase-catalyzed degradation, electrocatalytic degradation, and micro-electric-assisted laccase degradation. The potential degradation pathways of 2-MIB illustrated that these three methods result in common degradation products, such as capric aldehyde, nonylaldehyde, and 2-ethylhexanol, and their final products include 3-pentanone, acetone, and 2-butanone. This study provides an enzyme–electrochemical method for the efficient and rapid degradation and removal of 2-MIB. 21. Effects of grazing in different intensities and 10‐year grazing exclusion on soil bacterial community composition and interaction complexity in alpine grasslands of the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau.

Abstract

To decrease the detrimental consequences of overgrazing on the sustainability of grassland ecosystems, many countries have developed policies on grazing exclusions. However, compared with grazing, how grazing exclusion modifies soil bacterial community and the associated environmental drivers is inadequately understood. Here, we studied the effects of grazing in different intensities (no grazing, light, moderate, and heavy grazing) and 10 years' grazing exclusion on soil bacteria community and associated environmental factors in the grassland of the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau. The results showed significant changes in soil bacterial composition among all the treatments. After 10 years' grazing exclusion, the composition of the bacterial community rather than bacterial diversity was significantly different from that in grassland without grazing treatment. Under grazing exclusion, bacterial community composition was regulated by the total nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen. Grazing treatments decreased the complexity of the bacterial co‐occurrence network, but 10 years' grazing exclusion increased the complexity. This study found that grazing in different intensities substantially affected bacterial community structure and diversity, but 10 years' grazing exclusion hardly alleviated the historical grazing effects on the bacterial community structure. The findings of the study extended the understanding of how bacterial communities in grasslands respond to grazing in different intensities and grazing exclusion, providing a crucial scientific foundation for evaluating sustainable grazing management. Abstract

Self-Admitted Technical Debt (SATD) is an intentionally introduced software code comment describing potential defects or other technical debt. Currently, deep learning is widely used in fields such as Natural Language Processing. Deep learning can be used for SATD detection, but there is a class imbalance problem and a large number of easily classified SATD instances that may potentially affect the loss value. As a result, we proposed a weighted focal loss function based on particle swarm to address the problem. Meanwhile, there is no empirical research based on local explanations for SATD detection. We have investigated local interpretation models such as Saliency Maps, Integrated Gradients, which are currently widely used in deep learning, and conducted empirical research for shared data sets. The research results show that our proposed weighted focal loss function can achieve the best performance for SATD detection; our model achieves 12.27%, 5.97%, and 5.62% improvement in Precision, Recall, and AUC compared to the baseline model, respectively; Local explanation models, including Saliency Maps and Integrated Gradients can cover nearly half of the manually labeled paradigms; these two interpretation models can also discover potential new paradigms. &nbsp
