Poly[(thiophene)‐alt‐(6,7‐difluoro‐2(2‐hexyldecyloxy)quinoxaline)] (PTQ10) emerges as a promising candidate for donor materials in organic solar cells (OSCs) due to its high efficiency, simplified synthesis, and cost‐effectiveness. The acceptor unit of PTQ10 is derived from the alkylation of 5,8‐dibromo‐6,7‐difluoroquinoxaline‐2‐ol, emphasizing the importance of its economical synthesis for commercial viability. This study investigates triflic acid‐assisted regioselective bromination of quinoxaline derivatives and proposes an alternative synthetic pathway for PTQ10. The developed route benefits from concise synthetic steps, a dependable procedure, and high overall yield. Starting with the condensation of 4,5‐difluorobenzene‐1,2‐diamine with ethyl oxoacetate to yield 6,7‐difluoroquinoxaline‐2‐ol, subsequent triflic acid‐assisted regioselective bromination produces 5,8‐dibromo‐6,7‐difluoroquinoxaline‐2‐ol in high yield. Alkylation under Mitsunobu reaction conditions yields 5,8‐dibromo‐6,7‐difluoro‐2‐(2‐hexyldecyloxy)quinoxaline, followed by polymerization with 2,5‐distannylated thiophene under Stille reaction conditions to afford PTQ10. We present a novel synthetic route for the rapid construction of dithieno[3′,2′:3,4;2′′,3′′:5,6]benzo[1,2‐c][1,2,5]thiadiazoles via Na2S‐promoted thiophene annulation. This method facilitated the synthesis of D18−Cl polymer, known for its efficacy as a polymer donor in bulk‐heterojunction polymer solar cells. Starting from commercially available 4,7‐dihalo‐5,6‐difluorobenzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole, various 4,7‐dialkynylated compounds were obtained through Sonogashira reaction conditions. Subsequent Na2S‐promoted thiophene annulations yielded DTBT and its derivatives in excellent yields within 10 minutes. DTBT was then utilized as a precursor for the concise synthesis of D18−Cl, benefiting from reduced synthetic steps, mild reaction conditions, decreased complexity, and high overall yields. In another route, a space group‐bridged DTBT was directly constructed via Na2S‐promoted thiophene annulations and converted into D18−Cl through a couple of steps. This developed protocol offers a straightforward and reliable synthetic tool, conducive to reducing complexities in the production of DTBT‐based organic electronic materials, thereby advancing the potential commercialization of organic solar cells. Research has been conducted on the 3,4-alkylenedioxypyrrole and 3,4-(1,3-propylenedioxy)-pyrolle functionalized derivatives. The synthesis of these derivatives as especially electron-rich monomers yielding electroactive and stable conducting polymers has been carried out and discussed.

The structural conditions that are required for the phi-interactions between two electroactive components was analyzed by utilizing a tetrathiafulvalene (TTF)-derived donor that is covalently attached to viologen acceptors. Analysis of intramolecular charge transfer interactions of the TTF-derived donor indicated the influence of the linker between the TTF and the bipyridinium unit to the conformation of the products. Furthermore, the systems with stronger donors exhibited more significant positive changes.

The synthesis of the first bis(pyrrolo(3,4-d))tetrathiafulvalenes is described. The redox behavior of the pyrrolo tetrathiafulvalenes is very similar to that of TTF itself, unlike other types of aromatic annelated tetrathiafulvalenes (TTFs) which have reasonably higher oxidation potentials than TTF. According to the two-probe conductivities of the tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) complexes of the N-phenyl compound and the N-methyl compound, these yield higher values than TTF-TCNQ under similar conditions, thus indicating the potential of pyrrolotetrathiafulvalenes as a new series of organic metal building blocks.

The synthesis and characterization of monopyrrolo(3,4-d)-annelated tetrathiafulvalene derivatives are described. The compounds were prepared by phosphate-promoted cross-coupling and by other unsymmetrical coupling methods. Cyclic voltammetric analysis showed that all the compounds have excellent reversible redox properties and have low oxidation potentials. The compounds are being evaluated as donors for the synthesis of new conducting charge-transfer salts.

On the other hand, the of benzonitrile oxide with trans-1,2-disubstituted alkenyl boronic esters produced 2-isoxazolines, bearing the boronic ester group at the 4-position of the ring. We used quantum mechanical calculations to investigate two regioisomeric channels that were associated with the formation of 2-isoxazolines, bearing the boronic ester group at the 4-position or 5-position. The study revealed that the experimental results agreed well with the parameters based on the transition state energies in gas or solvent phase.
