This study investigated the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) compared to treatment as usual in managing psychotic symptoms, emotional dysregulation, recovery and psychological flexibility in inpatients with primary psychoses. The Primary outcome assessed the positive and negative syndrome scale, while the secondary outcomes were to assess difficulties in the emotion regulation scale, recovery assessment scale and acceptance and action questionnaire. An open‐label, two‐arm parallel randomized controlled trial was conducted. Participants diagnosed with primary psychoses were randomly assigned to either the ACT (n = 33) or treatment‐as‐usual (n = 32) group. The intervention included six structured sessions of ACT. ACT significantly reduced psychotic symptoms from 128 to 104 (Z = 5.01) compared to treatment as usual from 130 to 117 (Z = 4.88). Emotional regulation improved significantly in the ACT group from 73 to 55 (Z = 4.835) compared to treatment as usual from 73 to 70 (Z = 2.406). Recovery increased in the ACT group from 50 to 88 (Z = 5.01) compared to treatment as usual from 51 to 61 (Z = 4.93). Psychological flexibility improved in the ACT group from 33 to 25 (Z = 4.98) compared to treatment as usual from 33 to 31 (Z = 4.75). Between‐group differences after intervention were significant for psychotic symptoms, emotional regulation, recovery and psychological flexibility (Z = 2.356, 4.652, 3.881 and 4.453, respectively). Accordingly, the current study demonstrates the effectiveness of ACT in reducing psychotic symptoms and improving emotional regulation, recovery and psychological flexibility in patients with primary psychoses. Integrating ACT into standard care protocols can enhance treatment outcomes, offering a comprehensive approach to managing complex mental health conditions. Caregiving for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) poses significant stress for parents, necessitating an exploration of mitigating factors. This study investigates the interplay between Family Sense of Coherence, Psychological Capital and caregiver stress in this context. A total of 205 caregivers of children with ASD participated in this cross‐sectional study. Data were collected on Family Sense of coherence, Psychological Capital (encompassing hope, resilience, optimism and self‐efficacy) and caregiver stress. Structural equation modelling was employed to test the mediation effect of psychological capital between family sense of coherence and caregiver stress. The results indicated a strong positive correlation between family sense of coherence and all subdomains of psychological capital, with coefficients ranging from 0.541 to 0.610. Conversely, psychological capital demonstrated significant negative correlations with various domains of the Kingstone Caregiver Stress Scale, including caregiving, family issues and financial issues (coefficients from −0.443 to −0.427). Furthermore, family sense of coherence showed a direct negative effect on stress (β = −0.384, p < 0.001). Notably, the study revealed a significant mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between family sense of coherence and caregiver stress, with an indirect effect of family sense of coherence on stress through psychological capital (β = −0.127). The findings underscore the crucial role of family sense of coherence and psychological capital in enhancing psychological resources and mitigating stress among caregivers of children with ASD. These results suggest that interventions aimed at strengthening family coherence and building psychological capital could be effective strategies in alleviating stress among caregivers of children with ASD. Background: The presence of calling has been associated with beneficial outcomes for nurses, yet our understanding of these effects remains limited. Additionally, the mechanisms linking the presence of calling to these outcomes have not been well established in the nursing literature. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the presence of calling and nurses' career success, mediated by the parallel effects of strengths use and deficit correction. Design: A cross‐sectional design was used. Methods: Data were collected from December 2022 to April 2023, involving 237 nurses working in six hospitals in Port Said, Egypt. The study utilized the Demographic Information Form, the Presence of Calling Scale, the Strengths Use Scale, the Deficit Correction Scale, and the Career Success Scale. Study hypotheses were evaluated using structural equation modeling. Results: Presence of calling positively related to nurses' career success. Furthermore, nurses' strengths use and deficit correction played a mediating role in the relationship between the presence of calling and career success. Conclusion: Nurses who view their work as a calling are more inclined to utilize their strengths and address their deficits, resulting in a heightened sense of career success. Implication for nursing policymaking: Emphasising that nursing is a calling should commence during the undergraduate education of nurses, and this concept should be continually cultivated by hospital administrators throughout their professional careers. Introduction: Nurses' vigor at work profoundly impacts the quality of patient care. However, the determinants of nurses' vigor remain underexplored in the current nursing literature, and the mechanism through which these determinants exert their effects remains unclear. Aim: This study aimed to elucidate the mediating role of psychological ownership in linking decent work to nurses' vigor at work. Methods: A two‐wave, time‐lagged study was conducted to collect data from 289 nurses working across three hospitals in Port Said, Egypt, between March and June 2023. Data were collected using the Decent Work Scale, the Psychological Ownership Scale, the Shirom–Melamed Vigor Measure, on an Introductory Information Form. Mediation testing was performed using structural equation modeling. Results: Decent work was significantly associated with psychological ownership and vigor at work. Psychological ownership partially mediated the relationship between decent work and nurses' vigor at work. Conclusion: Decent work practices are critical in fostering nurses' vigor while working, and psychological ownership plays a mediating role in this relationship. Clinical relevance: Hospital administrators should value decent work practices, which could enhance psychological ownership, resulting in a potential improvement in nurses' vigor at work. Background: Premarital screening and counseling (PMCS) is a preventive measure for genetic, infectious, and blood-transmitted diseases. This study aimed to assess secondary school students' knowledge of and attitudes towards PMCS in Taiz City, Yemen. Methods: This study included 306 secondary school students selected through stratified random sampling from six secondary schools representing three directorates in Taiz city, Yemen. Researchers used two validated tools, students' knowledge and attitudes about the PMCS which were adopted from previous studies, to collect the necessary data. The data were analyzed using the SPSS software. Descriptive analysis was conducted for frequencies and percentages while chi square test was used to identify the relationships between the demographics and knowledge level. Results: Most of the students had a weak knowledge of 58.82%, while 40.52% showed fair understanding. The majority of students (79.09%) displayed a positive attitude towards PMCS, among the students with a positive attitude, 36.93% had fair knowledge, whereas 41.5% of the students had weak knowledge. Conclusion: The study concluded that secondary school students in Taiz lack knowledge and have positive attitudes towards various aspects of premarital screening and counseling. Background. Novel educational strategies are essential to cultivate a cadre of nurses with the requisite skills, critical thinking abilities, and adaptability demanded by contemporary healthcare contexts. The shift towards various learning modalities in nursing education, including online, hybrid, and in‐person formats, raises questions about their impact on student engagement and academic self‐concept. Objectives. This study aimed to assess and compare the levels of student engagement and academic self‐concept among nursing students engaged in different study modalities (online, hybrid, and in‐person). Methods. In this descriptive comparative study, 203 nursing students were evaluated using the university student engagement inventory (USEI) and academic self‐concept questionnaire (ASCQ). Participants were divided into groups based on their involvement in online, hybrid, or in‐person study modes. Differences and correlational analysis within variables were performed to evaluate the comparison between groups. Results. Significant differences were observed in the USEI scores among the study modalities: online (mean = 45.7, SD = 5.6), hybrid (mean = 48.8, SD = 6.1), and in‐person (mean = 50.4, SD = 6.2), with in‐person students displaying the highest levels of engagement (F = 10.663, P < 0.001). Academic self‐concept scores also varied notably (F = 9.422, P < 0.001) between modalities, particularly between online (mean = 54.8, SD = 5.3) and in‐person students (mean = 58.8, SD = 7.7). Correlational analysis within each modality revealed significant relationships among the subdomains of USEI and ASCQ. Conclusion. The study demonstrates that the mode of study substantially influences nursing students' engagement and academic self‐concept, with in‐person learners showing higher scores in both domains. However, there are debates on the antecedents of these intentions, and the explanation of how these antecedents influence such intentions is missing in the nursing literature.Based on the social exchange theory and the social identity theory, this study aimed to unveil how decent work influences nurses' internal whistleblowing intentions, specifically through the parallel mediating roles of felt obligation and organisational identification.A cross‐sectional survey was conducted with a convenience sample of 268 clinical nurses from three tertiary public hospitals in Mansoura, Egypt. Data were collected between June and November 2023 using the Decent Work Scale, the Felt Obligation Scale, the Organisational Identification Scale and the Internal Whistleblowing Intentions Scale. Study hypotheses were tested using structural equation modelling.Decent work significantly influenced nurses' internal whistleblowing intentions. Background. Despite the importance of studying factors contributing to nursing students' attitudes toward artificial intelligence, yet according to our knowledge, no study has addressed the relationship between personality traits and the attitude of nursing students toward artificial intelligence. Aim. This study aimed to unveil whether nursing students' personality traits are related to their attitude toward AI. Methods. This multicenter cross‐sectional study included 218 nursing students from three governmental universities across various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Data were gathered online, utilizing the Big Five Inventory, the General Attitudes toward Artificial Intelligence Scale, and a demographic questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and regression analysis were employed. The research complied with the STROBE checklist. Results. Findings indicated that nursing students with a high score in the openness trait displayed positive attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Conversely, those who scored high in neuroticism and agreeableness exhibited fewer positive attitudes toward artificial intelligence and more negative attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Additionally, nursing students who ranked high in conscientiousness showed a negative attitude toward artificial intelligence. Conclusion. Except for extraversion, personality traits appear to predict attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Implications for Nursing Management. The current study provides a foundation for understanding how generative AI can be integrated into nursing education and practice in a manner that is both effective and considerate of the diverse psychological profiles of students. Background: As nursing education embraces e-learning as a vital component of its pedagogical approach, understanding the interplay between students' readiness for E-learning and their academic self-efficacy becomes imperative in nurturing successful learning outcomes amidst evolving educational paradigms. Purpose: This study aimed to explore the relationship between e-learning readiness, academic self-efficacy, and the academic achievement of nursing students within the dynamic educational environment. Design: This study employed a cross-sectional design. Methods: A total of 208 nursing students were recruited through convenience sampling at the end of the second semester in 2022. The evaluation included the utilization of Grade Point Average, the Online Learning Readiness Scale, and the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale. Findings: Previous research has indicated a significant positive correlation between academic achievement and readiness for e-learning, suggesting that higher levels of readiness for e-learning among nursing students lead to improved academic achievement (p ≤ 0.001). Additionally, the findings of the current study revealed a notable positive correlation between academic achievement and academic self-efficacy (p ≤ 0.001). Conclusion: This study provides valuable insights into the critical role of academic self-efficacy and e-learning readiness in enhancing academic achievement among nursing students. Aim: To investigate the correlation between organizational agility and nurses' readiness for change. Background: The paradigm of agility in a healthcare organization is a novel concept that embodies the most advantageous organizational status. However, assessing the effects of organizational agility on nurses' readiness for change has not been previously studied. Methods: This cross‐sectional study was conducted on 270 nurses working in a university hospital in Egypt. The study took place between January ‐ March 2022, and participation was voluntary. Data were collected using the organizational agility scale and individual readiness for change scales. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and structured equation modeling (SEM). Results: The results indicated that nurses in the hospital exhibited a moderate level of agility. Nurses' readiness for change is high. The SEM showed that organizational agility accounted for 64% of the variance in nurses' readiness for change. Conclusions: Organizational agility is a significant predictor of nurses' readiness for change. Implications for nursing policymaking: As a means of ensuring that nurses are prepared for changes, nursing institutions should foster agility by instilling a vision for the future, enhancing staff capabilities, encouraging teamwork and open communication, and implementing total quality management, strategic planning, advanced nursing practice, participatory management, shared decision‐making, and policy development. Background: Abusive supervision has detrimental effects on nurses, but the mechanisms connecting abusive supervision to negative outcomes for nurses have not been well‐established in the nursing literature. Aim: This study aimed to investigate whether work alienation mediates the relationship between abusive supervision and nurses' service sabotage. Methods: This descriptive cross‐sectional study was conducted from November to December 2021 with 204 nurses working at a teaching hospital in Damanhour, Egypt. Data were collected using a demographic information form, the Abusive Supervision Scale, the Work Alienation Scale and the Service Sabotage Scale. Study hypotheses were evaluated using structural equation modelling. Results: Our findings revealed a significant association between abusive supervision, work alienation, and service sabotage among nurses. Abusive supervision was found to be linked to nurses' service sabotage through work alienation. Conclusion: Our study suggests that nurses who are subject to abusive supervision are more likely to feel alienated, which increases the probability of them engaging in behaviours that have a negative impact on the quality of care they provide. Copper-aluminum layered double hydroxides (Cu-LDHs) and nickel-aluminum layered double hydroxides (Ni-LDHs) were synthesized using co-precipitation method. LDHs were organically modified by long chain sodium stearate. Polypropylene (PP)/layered double hydroxides (LDHs) and polypropylene (PP)/organically-modified layered double hydroxides (m.Cu-LDHs or m.Ni-LDHs) were prepared through the melt bending of the PP with either nanosized LDHs or m.LDHs without any other additives. The effect of stearate on the dispersibility of LDHs was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The surface morphology of LDHs was also studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the thermal stability properties of PP/LDHs composites were studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The mechanical properties of the PP/LDH composites, tensile strength, and modulus of elasticity were investigated. The flammability properties were investigated using the cone calorimeter test. The intercalation of modified LDHs was determined by XRD in the presence of stearate. Results showed that modified LDHs presented good disperasbility in the PP matrix. The thermal stability of PP has been improved by up to 6% using m.Ni-LDHS. Unmodified and modified nanosized LDHs decreased the fire growth rate of PP from 10.8 kW/m2.s to 4.1 kW/m2.s and 4.5 kW/m2.s, respectively.
