Drug-resistant bacterial strains seriously threaten human health. Rapid screening of antibiotics is urgently required to improve clinical treatment. Conventional methods of antimicrobial susceptibility testing rely on turbidimetry that is evident only after several days of incubation. The lengthy time of the assay can delay clinical treatment. Here, we proposed a single-cell level rapid system based on a microfluidic chip. The detection period of 30 min to 2 h was significantly shorter than the conventional turbidity-based method. To promote detection efficiency, 16 independent channels were designed, permitting the simultaneous screening of 16 drugs in the microfluidic chip. Prepositioning of drugs in the chip permitted prolonged transportation and storage. This may allow for the widespread use of the novel system, particularly in the regions where medical facilities are scarce. The growth curves were reported rapidly through a custom code in Matlab after tracking and photographing the bacteria during microscopy examination. The capability of the proposed system was validated by antimicrobial susceptibility testing trials with standard strains. In order to overcome the limitation of traditional foot orthopedic aids with reference to static plantar pressure data, a wearable dynamic plantar pressure measurement system was designed and developed. The flexible piezoresistive pressure sensor was used to design the insole. The STM32F103RCT6 microprocessor was used as the main control chip. The pressure signal conditioning circuit module, the analog-to-digital conversion module and the data processing module were used to complete the design of the lower computer. The data was transmitted to the host computer through the HC-05 bluetooth, to complete the display, preservation and processing of the data. Dynamic analysis of the distribution of plantar pressure during the gait cycle was performed. Experiments show that the standard deviation of the system is no more than 0.19 N. For volunteers of different body masses, the static foot pressure distribution is basically the same. The dynamic plantar pressure distribution increases with the increasing of the movement speed. Nowadays, about 30% of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams need contrast agents (CAs) to improve the sensitivity and quality of the images for accurate diagnosis. Here, a multifunctional nano-agent with ring-like vortex-domain iron oxide as core and gadolinium oxide as shell (vortex nanoring Fe 3 O 4 @Gd 2 O 3 , abbreviated as VNFG) was firstly designed and prepared for highly enhanced T 1 -T 2 dual-modality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided magnetic thermal cancer therapy. After thorough characterization, the core-shell structure of VNFG was confirmed. Moreover, the excellent heat generation property (SAR=984.26 W/g) of the proposed VNFG under alternating magnetic fields was firmly demonstrated. Furthermore, both in vitro and in vivo studies have revealed a good preliminary indication of VNFG's biological compatibility, dual-modality enhancing feature and antitumor efficacy. This work demonstrates that the proposed VNFG can be a high-performance tumor diagnosis and theranostic treatment agent and may have great potential for clinical application in the future., (Copyright © 2022 The Authors. The purpose of this study is to provide a simple and reliable genetic typing approach for molecular drug susceptibility test of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, through the developing of fluorescence molecular marker of rifampicin resistance gene rpoB. Eleven fluorescent molecular markers of the rpoB gene were established by using the sequence difference between the amino acid positions 531, 526, 516, 511 and 513 of rpoB gene of rifampicin-resistant strains and the alleles of rifampicin-sensitive strains, combined with the PARMS technique (Penta-primer amplification refractory mutation system). We used 104 clinical isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to validate this marker and it was verified by sequencing as 100% correct. These samples were also tested with proportional drug sensitivity test. The coincidence rate was 94.23%. The molecular markers had high reliability for genotyping of rpoB gene. It can also detect low-concentration drug-resistant samples (511/533 unit point mutations) whose phenotypic susceptibility cannot be detected. The eleven sets of fluorescent molecular markers could cover 92%-96% of rpoB gene mutation types of rifampicin-resistant strains, and provide new idea for rapid detection of rifampin-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
