The status of innovative technology adoption in the Sri Lankan agriculture sector is significantly low. A detailed study conducted by the Department of Agriculture, Sri Lanka and TRCSL, with the assistance of FAO - UN, clearly identified the need for a common platform to manage all stakeholders in an integrated single platform. There have been some attempts by the private and government sectors to overcome the identified gap, but these have yet to produce results. This research identified the technology and services gaps and introduced a Cloud-based Microservice Architecture-based Geographical Information Management Platform, "AgriMIS", to manage the country's entire agricultural sector in a single platform. The AgriMIS platform was developed so that preloaded spatial layers such as administration boundaries, census data, land use data, disaster data, and many more are preloaded and available to the public. Privately owned data such as farmer, farm, land use, fertilizer usage, crops and other relevant details are hosted privately on the same cloud with multitenant access where only that particular data owner can access the data, and this allows the users to access public data hosted on the cloud and conduct a significant number of spatial and nonspatial analyses with the given user interfaces. Also, the platform allows users to connect their existing decision support systems through APIs to the AgriMIS platform. The platform has been assessed and proved to be successful. Agriculture is a fundamental sector for a global economic and social development. It provides food, fiber, and raw materials for industries and contributes to the livelihoods of millions of people worldwide. However, agricultural production faces several constraints such as climate change, limited resources, and population growth, among others. These challenges require sustainable solutions to ensure food security, maintain ecological balance, and improve livelihoods. Agricultural technologies provide innovative approaches to overcome these challenges, enhancing productivity, efficiency, and profitability. Pakistan is an agrarian country, and the usage of agriculture technologies has increased in this country over the period of time. Extensive use of agriculture technologies may have detrimental impact of environment quality through an increase in carbon dioxide emissions. This study examines the impact of agriculture technologies on carbon emissions in Pakistan by using the annual time series data for the period 1973–2018. For long-run and short-run analysis, autoregressive distributed lag model is applied and the results reveal that cointegration exists among the variables. Long-run results show a significant positive impact of pesticide and economic growth on carbon emission, whereas short-run results confirm the positive effect of economic growth on carbon emissions in Pakistan. This study has important policy implications, such as to increase sustainable economic growth through agriculture sector; there is a need to introduce green technologies that produce less carbon emissions. The objective of this research study was to assess the sources of information on two improved agricultural and livestock technologies (barley variety and feed blocks) as well as the efficacy of numerous agricultural technology diffusion means introduced in the livestock–barley system in semi-arid Tunisia. The research used primary data collected from 671 smallholder farmers. A descriptive statistical analysis was conducted, and Kendall's W-test and the chi-squared distribution test were deployed to categorize and evaluate the efficacy of the different methods of technology diffusion used by the Tunisian extension system. To address farmers' perceived opinions and classify the changes from the use of the improved technologies, a qualitative approach based on the Stapel scale was used. Farmer training, demonstration, and farmer-to-farmer interactions were perceived as the most effective agricultural extension methods. The access to technology, know-how, adoption cost of that technology, and labor intensity for adoption influenced its adoption level. Farmers' opinions about the changes resulting from the adoption of both technologies revealed that yield and resistance to drought were the most important impacts of the two technologies. The study recommends empowering the national extension system through both conventional and non-conventional technologies (ICT, video, mobile phones, etc.), given the cost-effectiveness and their impact on the farmers' adoption decisions.
