Aim: This systematic review purposed to investigate whether low‐level laser therapy is effective in reducing pain and edema in patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. Materials and Methods: An electronic search was conducted in PubMed, SCOPUS, Embase, SciELO, Web of Science, LILACS, IEEE XPLORE, Google Scholar, Open Thesis, OpenGrey, and Open Access Thesis and Dissertationswith no restrictions on language or year of publication. PICOS strategy wasused to define the eligibility criteria. The risk of bias (ROB 2.0 Tool) andmethodological quality assessment was carried out, and a meta‐analysis was performed using a random‐effect model. The quality of evidence was classified with the GRADE (Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation) classification system. The analyses were performed with Review Manager 5.3 (Cochrane IMS, Copenhagen, Denmark). Results: A total of 1255 potentially relevant records were selected through the search strategy. After screening titles and abstracts, five full‐text manuscripts were assessed for eligibility and three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included in the meta‐analysis. Results favourable to low‐level laser therapy were found both for the pain outcome (p < 0.0001) and edema (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Considering the limitations of this systematic review, low‐level laser therapy showed a positive effect in reducing pain and edema in the postoperative period of bimaxillary orthognathic surgeries, with moderate and high‐quality evidence, respectively. This article discusses the potential use of ChatGPT-4, an artificial intelligence chatbot, as an auxiliary tool in diagnosing temporomandibular disorders (TMD). TMD is a complex condition characterized by musculoskeletal abnormalities in the jaw joint and muscles, leading to symptoms such as headaches and neck pain. Currently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) are the gold standard for diagnosing TMD, but there can be delays in emergency care due to diagnostic interpretation failures. ChatGPT-4, with its ability to interpret images and describe them in human-like language, could enhance diagnostic accuracy and contribute to improving previous diagnostic methods. Background and Aim: Although reverse zoonotic transmission events from humans to domestic cats have been described, there is currently little evidence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) circulation in stray cats. Due to the evidence of natural and experimental infections in cats and the capacity to disseminate the virus among them, this study aimed to identify the SARS-CoV-2 antigen in stray cats from the Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil. Materials and Methods: One hundred twenty six stray cats from the university were screened for SARS-CoV-2 antigens by random sampling. Throat swab samples were tested for the virus using rapid antigen detection tests. Results: Of the 126 animals tested, 30 (23.60%) were positive for SARS-CoV-2 antigens. To our knowledge, for the first time, this study detected the SARS-CoV-2 antigen in stray cats and confirmed the presence of SARS-CoV-2 infections in Brazil's stray cat population. Conclusion: The detection of SARS-CoV-2 in stray cats poses a risk for infected and healthy animals and possibly for humans who attend the university daily. As a limitation of the study, the small sample size necessitates caution when interpreting the results. This underscores the need for further research in this area to help control diseases in stray animals during potential pandemics.
