Abstract

In this paper, we present our approaches for the FinSim-3 Shared Task 2021: Learning Semantic Similarities for the Financial Domain. The aim of this shared task is to correctly classify a list of given terms from the financial domain into the most relevant hypernym (or top-level) concept in an external ontology. For our system submission, we evaluate two methods: a Sentence-RoBERTa (SRoBERTa) embeddings model pre-trained on a custom corpus, and a dual word-sentence embeddings model that builds on the first method by improving the proposed baseline word embeddings construction using the FastText model to boost the classification performance. Our system ranks 2nd overall on both metrics, scoring 0.917 on Average Accuracy and 1.141 on Mean Rank., Comment: To be published in ACL Anthology

Abstract

We present the FinCausal 2020 Shared Task on Causality Detection in Financial Documents and the associated FinCausal dataset, and discuss the participating systems and results. Two sub-tasks are proposed: a binary classification task (Task 1) and a relation extraction task (Task 2). A total of 16 teams submitted runs across the two Tasks and 13 of them contributed with a system description paper. This workshop is associated to the Joint Workshop on Financial Narrative Processing and MultiLing Financial Summarisation (FNP-FNS 2020), held at The 28th International Conference on Computational Linguistics (COLING'2020), Barcelona, Spain on September 12, 2020.

La reconstrucción del tracto urinario después de la cistectomía debe restablecer su continuidad. En este contexto, se distinguen las derivaciones urinarias continentes (o vejigas «ortotópicas», como las técnicas de Camey, Hautmann, Padoue, en Z, etc.), de las no continentes. Estas últimas, que tienen ventajas por su simplicidad y su baja morbilidad, están representadas principalmente por las ureterostomías cutáneas terminales o transileales. En este artículo se presenta una actualización de las diferentes técnicas quirúrgicas de derivaciones urinarias no continentes. Se centra en la ureterostomía cutánea transileal de tipo Bricker y sus variantes técnicas. Se describirán las indicaciones quirúrgicas, la preparación de los pacientes, así como las especificidades del seguimiento tras la intervención, con un objetivo de optimización de la asistencia del paciente.

Abstract

Although competing species are expected to exhibit compensatory dynamics (negative temporal covariation), empirical work has demonstrated that competitive communities often exhibit synchronous dynamics (positive temporal covariation). This has led to the suggestion that environmental forcing dominates species dynamics; however, synchronous and compensatory dynamics may appear at different length scales and/or at different times, making it challenging to identify their relative importance. We compiled 58 long-term datasets of zooplankton abundance in north-temperate and sub-tropical lakes and used wavelet analysis to quantify general patterns in the times and scales at which synchronous/compensatory dynamics dominated zooplankton communities in different regions and across the entire dataset. Synchronous dynamics were far more prevalent at all scales and times and were ubiquitous at the annual scale. Although we found compensatory dynamics in approximately 14% of all combinations of time period/scale/lake, there were no consistent scales or time periods during which compensatory dynamics were apparent across different regions. Our results suggest that the processes driving compensatory dynamics may be local in their extent, while those generating synchronous dynamics operate at much larger scales. This highlights an important gap in our understanding of the interaction between environmental and biotic forces that structure communities.

Abstract

“Physicians of the World: Postcolonial Women Writers Theorize Human Rights, Healing, and the World” is an analysis of ideas of the world produced within literary writings by postcolonial women authors who set their stories in Haiti, Mauritius, and Saint Helena. This dissertation seeks to carve out a space for an alternative postcolonial optic by engaging with literary critics’ growing interest in an expanded notion of the world within literary studies. I argue that Yanick Lahens, Evelyne Trouillot, Edwidge Danticat, Shenaz Patel, and Yvette Christians� are “physicians of the world” who theorize the world’s discontents resulting from the legacy of colonialism. The dissertation develops a hermeneutics of care; a mode of interpretation which teases out the aesthetic, formal, affective, and epistemological qualities of the texts that participate in discussing the ethics of representation and in articulating human rights. This interpretive framework allows me to show that these authors develop concrete notions of the “world” as an expanding community of ideas and beings with shared values. These writers posit that islands are “island worlds,” sites wherein a multiplicity of worlds interact, and sites that serve as a prism by means of which to challenge globalization. The authors overcome writer’s block, immigrant guilt, and repressed memories; by focusing on their writings’ engagement with both personal and collective national trauma I am able to articulate an approach to literature as a critical site of healing processes. I explore postcolonial healings: the solidarities, communities, and social bonds that repair the fabric of human community and put under tension the “Francophone” label. The authors share sensibilities outside of the framework of a common language, thus providing a context in which I define important forms of multilingual transcolonial agencies, namely, the material and textual practices they choose in order to resist various modes of colonization across time and space.

Il n’existe pas de recommandations similaires chez la femme ou pour les autres cancers pelviens.

Abstract

Dans le contexte actuel d’inadéquation entre le nombre de transplants rénaux disponibles et les patients inscrits sur liste, trouver de nouvelles sources d’organes est un véritable enjeu de santé publique. Aux donneurs en état de mort encéphalique et aux donneurs vivants se sont ajoutés depuis le décret du 2 août 2005 les prélèvements d’organes et de tissus sur une personne en arrêt cardio-respiratoire persistant. Avec ce décret et suite à la loi Léonetti, les prélèvements Maastricht III ont vu le jour en France en septembre 2014. Ces prélèvements ont d’excellents résultats. La canulation est le pré-requis essentiel au bon déroulé du prélèvement, l’échec de canulation est depuis 2015 la 4ecause de non-prélèvement.
