Aim: To describe the development and divulgation of a website for the prevention of suicidal behavior and to analyze posted themes and access metrics., Method: Mixed study developed from 2019 to 2020 on the "InspirAção" website. All user posts were collected from WordPress and subjected to thematic analysis. The access metrics were obtained by Google Analytics., Results: The development of the website contains systematically planned steps to meet international recommendations. In the initial six months of the site, there were 64,628 views and 18,161 sessions from different countries. The main themes posted by users were "Life and what gives it meaning", "Love, comfort and acceptance", "Self-knowledge, authenticity and transformation" and "Overcoming, altruism and transcendence"., Conclusions: "InspirAção" contains innovative features, incorporates protective factors and meets requirements for online and community suicide prevention. To evaluate the heart rate response, emotion and changes in anxiety and anger levels after exposure to unpleasant pictures from the International Assessment Pictures System (IAPS) compared with neutral picture exposure in healthy individuals. Forty participants (23 women) visited the laboratory on two occasions. State anger and state anxiety levels were evaluated pre- and post-visualization of a set of IAPS pictures and heart rate was monitored during exposure. Two different picture sets were utilized-one with neutral pictures (that served as the control) and the other with unpleasant pictures. State anxiety and state anger were higher in post-unpleasant session for women than before (p < 0.001). For men, only state anxiety was higher in the post-unpleasant session (p < 0.001). State anxiety (p = 0.004) and state anger (p < 0.001) post-unpleasant session was higher for women than in men. The pleasure and dominance domains were lower in the unpleasant session for both men and women (p < 0.001), and the arousal domain was higher for both men and women (p < 0.001) than in the neutral session. In the unpleasant session, arousal was higher (p = 0.004), and dominance was lower (p < 0.001) among women than among men, but no difference in pleasure was found (p > 0.05). For women, average heart rate was higher on unpleasant session, compared to neutral (p = 0.01), but not for men (p > 0.05). Women are more sensitive and react strongly to unpleasant picture exposure. A preferred treatment for residual/recurrent pituitary adenomas has not been established. The existence of higher complication rates for revision surgeries remains under debate. This study aimed to compare complication rates of primary and revision transsphenoidal endoscopic surgeries and to identify risk factors for complications. Data from 144 primary and 39 revision surgeries were analysed. The surgical complications evaluated were intraoperative and postoperative cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks; meningitis; permanent diabetes insipidus (DI) and hypopituitarism; worsening visual acuity; ophthalmoplegias; visual field defects; otorhinolaryngological, systemic and vascular complications; and death. The variables that were potentially associated with surgical complications were gender, age, comorbidities, lumbar drain use, duration of lumbar drain use, invasion of the sphenoid and cavernous sinuses, presence and degree of suprasellar expansion, preoperative identification of the pituitary, CSF leaks and intraoperative pituitary identification. Intraoperative CSF leaks, visual field losses and worsening visual acuity were more common for revision surgeries. There were no between-group differences in the occurrence of postoperative CSF leaks; systemic, vascular and otorhinolaryngological complications; meningitis; DI and hypopituitarism; ophthalmoplegias; or death. Intraoperative identification of the pituitary was associated with lower rates of permanent DI and hypopituitarism, systemic complications, intraoperative CSF leaks and worsening visual acuity. Suprasellar expansion increased the risk of intraoperative CSF leaks but not endocrinological deficits or visual impairment. Intraoperative CSF leaks were associated with postoperative CSF leaks, meningitis, anterior hypopituitarism, DI and worsening visual acuity. Intraoperative CSF leaks, worsening visual acuity and visual field losses were more common in reoperated patients.

It is important to investigate the care given to people with suicidal behavior, as it is an important predictor of future death by suicide and there is a lack of studies on this issue in Brazil. This study had the objective of investigating assistance related to suicidal behavior at a mobile emergency service and sociodemographic and clinical associated factors. This was a quantitative, cross-sectional study based on documental information. The data were collected through manual consultation of nursing records in which call-outs for suicidal behavior in the year 2014 were documented. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test, correlation tests, and comparison of means tests. In the 313 records analyzed there was a predominance of adult women with self-inflicted drug poisoning, attended to in their own residence and referred to pre-hospital emergency medical services. There was a lack of documentation on signs, symptoms, and grievances in most cases. The interventions most carried out by the nurses were related to monitoring of clinical parameters. There were differences related to the victim's sex and lethality, suicide attempt method, referral to emergency services, and semester of occurrence (January-June, July-December). Suicide attempts through self-poisoning or self-inflicted injuries differed in relation to time of call-out, waiting time, lethality, documentation on clinical assessment and interventions, and referral to emergency services. Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) is one of the autoimmune diseases of the inner ear (AIED), which is characterized by a hearing loss of above 30 decibels in at least three contiguous audiometric frequencies over a time course of 72 hours or shorter. Its cause can be found in only 10% to 15% of patients. Histopathologic findings have reported retrograde neuronal degeneration and atrophy of Corti's organ and of the vascular stria. This paper describes a case of a middle-aged female patient undergoing a treatment for hyperthyroidism who developed bilateral SSNHL. The patient was treated with methylprednisone (1 mg/kg/day) for three days with considerable hearing improvement. This treatment was followed by lung and kidney tuberculosis. The immune mechanism of this entity and the possibility of interconnected participation of the antigen type, of an autoimmune disease and of bacterial infection are discussed.
