This study explores the relationship between entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial competence, and entrepreneurial performance, focusing on the moderating role of environmental dynamics under conditions of high and low environmental dynamics. Using SPSS 21.0 and Smart PLS 4.0 software, this quantitative research analyzed survey data from 424 college students in China who have started their own businesses. The results indicate that entrepreneurship education has a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial performance. Furthermore, environmental dynamics moderate the indirect effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial performance through entrepreneurial competence, with the indirect effect being stronger when environmental dynamics are high. The study also underscores the need for the sustainable development of entrepreneurship education, ensuring that educational programs evolve continuously to meet the changing demands of entrepreneurial environments. The findings highlight the importance of entrepreneurship education in fostering entrepreneurial competence and enhancing entrepreneurial performance. However, due to the cross-sectional design and self-reported nature of the data, the ability to draw causal inferences is limited. Abstract Using data from the 2019 China Household Finance Survey (CHFS), this paper explores the impact of digital inclusive finance on the entrepreneurial performance of returning rural migrants. The study first finds that digital inclusive finance can enhance the entrepreneurial performance of returning rural migrants. Second, it significantly improves entrepreneurial performance in three dimensions: the degree of digitization in inclusive finance, the depth of digital financial usage, and the breadth of digital financial coverage. Third, farmers’ digital participation, digital usage, and the extent of digital usage are crucial pathways through which digital inclusive finance influences their entrepreneurial performance. Fourth, the impact of digital inclusive finance on entrepreneurial performance varies according to different types of migration, duration of migration, scale of entrepreneurship, educational attainment, and credit access channels. The findings of this study help validate the real effects of digital inclusive finance on entrepreneurial outcomes in rural populations.

Different employee entrepreneurship events in a firm are usually considered mutually independent. In fact, these events are interpersonally dependent in most cases, which leads to an unresolved issue that how employee entrepreneurship spreads through interpersonal influence (interactions between former coworkers and current employees) in organizations. Drawing on social learning theory, this study aims to test and verify how former coworkers' entrepreneurial performance impacts focal employee entrepreneurship. Survey data were collected at two different time points (with a three-week interval) from 218 full-time employees who work in China. We found that employee entrepreneurial self-efficacy mediated the relationship between former coworkers' entrepreneurial performance and employee entrepreneurial intention. This mediating effect was strengthened by the similarity of entrepreneurial resources and employee risk propensity. By clarifying the premise, mechanism and conditions of social interaction in regard to employee entrepreneurship, this study advances our understanding of interpersonal influence effects of employee entrepreneurship. Purpose: Although the published studies have noted that ambidextrous marketing capabilities (AMCs) could improve firm performance, they seem to ignore the differences between mature corporations and new ventures (NVs). Generally, it is impossible for NVs to simultaneously possess two types of marketing capabilities such as marketing exploitation and marketing exploration. They have to make a trade-off between the present market and the future market. This paper seeks to investigate the causal relationship between AMCs (exploitation-dominated AMCs and exploration-dominated AMCs) and entrepreneurial performance in the context of NVs. Furthermore, this paper attempts to explore the internal interaction of entrepreneurial orientation and the external interaction of competitive intensity. Design/methodology/approach: This paper develops a theoretical framework according to configuration theory and investigates the causal relationship between AMCs (exploration-dominated AMCs and exploitation-dominated AMCs) and entrepreneurial performance as well as the moderating roles played by entrepreneurial orientation and competitive intensity based on the survey data collected from 257 Chinese NVs. Findings: The results show that both the exploration-dominated AMCs and the exploitation-dominated AMCs have significant positive effects on entrepreneurial performance. However, the moderating roles played by entrepreneurial orientation and competitive intensity in the causal relationships are different and complicated. Specifically, entrepreneurial orientation negatively moderates the relationship between exploitation-dominated AMCs and entrepreneurial performance and positively moderates the relationship between exploration-dominated AMCs and entrepreneurial performance; competitive intensity positively moderates the relationship between exploitation-dominated AMCs and entrepreneurial performance and negatively moderates the relationship between exploration-dominated AMCs and entrepreneurial performance. Originality/value: This paper plays a pioneering role in enriching the theoretical connotation of AMCs, improving the theoretical framework of AMCs and expanding the theoretical application of AMCs by analyzing and confirming the causal relationships between AMCs and entrepreneurial performance in the context of NVs, which is different from the previous studies. In addition, this paper also makes a valuable contribution to management practices, such as leading NVs, to match different types of AMCs with internal and external conditions for improving entrepreneurial performance. As an important part of rural members, the success of returning migrant workers' entrepreneurial activities is not only related to the realization of rural comprehensive revitalization strategy, but also related to the stability of national society. Based on the survey data of 962 returning entrepreneurial migrant workers, combined with social network theory and resource-based theory, based on the dual combined ambidexterity of knowledge resources and operation resources, this paper explores the influence mechanism of rural and urban social network embeddedness combined ambidexterity of returning migrant workers on their entrepreneurial performance. The results show that the embeddedness combined ambidexterity between rural and urban social networks is beneficial to the improvement of entrepreneurial performance of returning migrant workers, and the dual entrepreneurial resources combined ambidexterity of knowledge resources and operation resources play an intermediary role between dual social networks embeddedness combined ambidexterity and entrepreneurial performance. The resource integration ability of migrant workers has a positive moderating effect on the intermediary effect. The research results can provide a reference for the state and government to formulate policies and take measures to improve the entrepreneurial performance of returning migrant workers. This study integrates social network theory and dynamic capability theory to explore the influence of network insight on entrepreneurial performance under the mediating role of resource integration, and the influence path of dynamic management capability. We test a series of hypotheses using survey data from 228 Chinese enterprises and applying partial least squares based structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Our study provides knowledge to understand new ventures' performance promotion from a new perspective of network insight. We empirically found a mechanism between structural insight, relational insight, and environmental insight on entrepreneurial performance. Besides, this study also revealed a boundary condition of dynamic management capability to understand how organizational resource integration motivates entrepreneurial performance. Based on the configuration theory, this paper discusses the multiple concurrent causes and causal complex mechanisms affecting the performance differences among different new farmers. Using the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method, taking 40 cases of CCTV’s “ZHI FU JING” column as samples, the paper analyzes the necessary conditions for new farmers to produce high performance by the anthefactory-variable configuration composed of human capital, social capital, psychological capital, entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial opportunity identification. The results show that: (1) high human capital is the necessary core condition for new farmers to produce high entrepreneurial performance, lack of high entrepreneurial learning and lack of high entrepreneurial opportunity identification is the core necessary condition for low entrepreneurial performance; (2) the driving mechanism of new farmers’ high entrepreneurial performance is divided into three paths, and the driving mechanism of new farmers’ low entrepreneurial performance is divided into two paths; and (3) the ways of inhibiting new farmers’ performance and promoting their performance are asymmetrical. This research studies the internal mechanism of university students' new technology entrepreneurial performance. We developed a model to identify relevant factors affecting new technology entrepreneurial performance by synthesizing theories of new technology adaption, social networks, and self-determination. Three hundred and sixteen valid responses were received from our survey and analyzed with the partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) and multiple-group analysis (MGA). The findings show that college students with entrepreneurial family histories rely more on social and industrial networks, whereas those without will seek opportunities from new technology adoption. Risk preference positively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial intention and performance. Entrepreneurship intention mediates the impact of new technology usefulness, social network, industrial network, survival motivation, achievement motive, and responsibility motive on entrepreneurial performance. Purpose: Knowledge sharing enables a firm's absorptive capacity to reconfigure its dynamic capabilities to sense, track and recognise embryonic business opportunities. Entrepreneurial opportunity recognition triggers entrepreneurs to invest in and upgrade their knowledge practices to improve entrepreneurial performance. This study aims to examine the relationship between knowledge sharing and absorptive capacity on entrepreneurial orientation as well as the moderating effect of opportunity recognition and the mediating effect of absorptive capacity. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative cross-sectional research design was applied to data from Algerian small and medium-sized enterprise managers in middle- to top-management positions. The final analysis using smart PLS included 246 respondents. Findings: Knowledge sharing positively influenced entrepreneurial orientation and absorptive capacity. In addition, the findings reveal that entrepreneurial orientation positively influences entrepreneurial performance, and opportunity recognition strengthens the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial performance. Entrepreneurial orientation and absorptive capacity have partial mediating effects. Practical implications: This study focuses on how firms create and share developed knowledge to enable absorptive capacity to fit a level of entrepreneurial orientation. This study validates the vital impact of opportunity recognition as a leading motivation for entrepreneurial orientation. The results highlight an important area of research and suggest that firms should focus on knowledge sharing to boost entrepreneurial outcomes. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore the effect of a team's personality faultlines on entrepreneurial performance. Additionally, this paper verifies the moderating effect of shared leadership on the connection between the two varies. The authors focus on the upper echelons theory and social identity theory as well as personality faultlines in entrepreneurial teams. Design/methodology/approach: An online survey was conducted using data collected in China. Data from 618 members from 144 new venture teams were collected to examine the authors' hypothesis. Findings: The authors find a U-shaped relationship between the strength of entrepreneurial teams' personality-faultline and entrepreneurial performance. Additionally, shared leadership negatively moderates this U-shaped relationship. Specifically, when the entrepreneurial team has a high level of shared leadership, both the positive and negative relationships between the strength of the personality faultlines and entrepreneurial performance are weaker. 【Objective/Meaning】Through the empirical analysis of the impact of migrant work experience on the entrepreneurial performance of farmers, it aimed to promote the high-quality entrepreneurship of farmers, advance the sustainable development of returning home to start businesses, and help achieve the goals of rural revitalization strategy. 【Methods/Procedures】Based on the data of China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) in 2019, the OLS model and the mediating effect model were used to explore the impact of migrant work experience on the entrepreneurial performance of farmers. 【Results/Conclusions】The study found that: (1) The migrant work experience could significantly improve the entrepreneurial performance of farmers; (2) The family social capital has played a partial mediation role in the process of the migrant work experience affecting the entrepreneurial performance of farmers; (3) There were initial investment scale differences and regional differences in the impact of migrant work experience on the entrepreneurial performance of farmers. The migrant work experience could significantly improve the entrepreneurial performance of large-scale investment projects, and it only had a significant positive impact on the improvement of entrepreneurial performance of farmers in the eastern region. This study aims to broaden the current knowledge on the effect of entrepreneurial commitment on entrepreneurial performance. Specifically, this study investigates how entrepreneurial commitment affects entrepreneurial performance through the mediation effect of family-work conflict, and the moderation effect of organization-family support. Using survey data collected from 246 China's entrepreneurs, this study finds that entrepreneurial commitment affects entrepreneurial performance through family-work conflict/enhancement. In addition, organization-family support has a negatively moderating effect on the relationship of family-work conflict and entrepreneurial performance, and a positively moderating effect on the relationship of family-work enhancement and entrepreneurial performance. This study contributes theoretically to the literature on the relationship of entrepreneurial commitment and entrepreneurial performance through family-work conflict/enhancement, which can help entrepreneurs balance the entrepreneur and family identities. Divergent thinking is the ability to produce numerous and diverse responses to questions or tasks, and it is used as a predictor of creative achievement. It plays a significant role in the business organization's innovation process and the recognition of new business opportunities. Drawing upon the cumulative process model of creativity in entrepreneurship, we hypothesize that divergent thinking has a lasting effect on post-launch entrepreneurial outcomes related to innovation and growth, but that this relation might not always be linear. Additionally, we hypothesize that domain-specific experience has a moderating role in this relation. We test our hypotheses based on a representative longitudinal sample of 457 German business founders, which we observe up until 40 months after start-up. We find strong relative effects for innovation and growth outcomes. For survival, we find conclusive evidence for non-linearities in the effects of divergent thinking. Additionally, we show that such effects are moderated by the type of domain-specific experience that entrepreneurs gathered pre-launch, as it shapes the individual's ideational abilities to fit into more sophisticated strategies regarding entrepreneurial creative achievement. Our findings have relevant policy implications in characterizing and identifying business start-ups with growth and innovation potential, allowing a more efficient allocation of public and private funds. Plain English Summary: Divergent thinking is the ability to generate many different and novel ideas to solve tasks. When facing a challenge or a problem, divergent thinkers would explore different approaches in an unsystematic fashion in order to solve it. It is known that this cognitive ability plays a role in the innovation process of firms. However, what is its role in the entrepreneurial process itself, particularly in the last post-launch phase, where entrepreneurs seek survival through innovation and growth? Is the relation between divergent thinking and business outcomes linear? Are there other factors that exacerbate its role? Accounting for a variety of factors that might influence business outcomes, we find that divergent thinking has a positive effect on innovation and business growth 40 months after start-up, as well as evidence of non-linearities with respect to business survival. Furthermore, we find domain-specific experience to moderate the effect of divergent thinking on business performance in the post-launch phase. The capability of individuals to manage their finances is essential to the outcomes of their entrepreneurial activities. Using panel data from the China Household Finance Survey (C.H.F.S.) in 2013, 2015 and 2017, this article examines how financial capability affects entrepreneurial performance in rural China. The results demonstrate that financial capability is positively correlated with the scale, profitability and sustainability of entrepreneurship, which is robust in consideration of endogeneity. The effects of financial capability are heterogeneous for different entrepreneurs. Furthermore, technology, labour and land act as the mediating variables through which financial capability improves entrepreneurial performance. Therefore, to facilitate entrepreneurial success, it is important to provide entrepreneurs with financial education. Meanwhile, improvements to the financial environment should also be considered. In recent years, focus on women entrepreneurship has increased and women are encouraged to perform an active economic role in the modern societies. However, it has been argued that women owned and operated entrepreneurial ventures exhibit poor performance, raising questions on the entrepreneurial potential of the women. Another line of argument highlight that women are different than men, leading them to have different entrepreneurial aspirations. Considering this theoretical premise, this study adopts a social role perspective to explain differences of entrepreneurial performance of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan. By employing a qualitative research design and collecting data from 19 male and female entrepreneurs in Pakistan, this study finds indications that social roles influence the performance orientation of male and female entrepreneurs. It was also found that male entrepreneurs have a more material and financial approach to relate to their entrepreneurial performance as they stressed more on profitability, cash flows, and material growth. On the other hand, female entrepreneurs exhibit a more peoples-oriented approach. They seemed to focus more on their stakeholders like customers, family, employees, and society at large. The study concludes that both male and female entrepreneurs have different performance orientations, and a unidimensional performance comparison of entrepreneurial performance of male and female is futile. Therefore, future practice and research on women entrepreneurship should consider a feminist perspective of entrepreneurial performance, where women entrepreneurs might be interested in self-fulfillment and empowerment and not in material growth or financial outcomes. Newly established enterprises in China face significant challenges and opportunities, with persistently high mortality rates. Navigating market challenges and establishing sustainable competitive advantages are pressing issues for contemporary businesses. This study delves into the bridging role of business model innovation between entrepreneurial bricolage and entrepreneurial performance, with market orientation influencing the relationship boundaries. We examined 288 Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises, investigating the relationships among entrepreneurial bricolage, business model innovation, market orientation, and entrepreneurial performance. Empirical results indicate: (1) Entrepreneurial bricolage positively influences business model innovation, and business model innovation positively impacts entrepreneurial performance. (2) Business model innovation plays a fully mediating positive role between entrepreneurial bricolage and entrepreneurial performance. (3) Market orientation positively moderates the impact of entrepreneurial bricolage on business model innovation and entrepreneurial performance, and it also positively moderates the impact of business model innovation on entrepreneurial performance. (4) Market orientation positively moderates the impact of entrepreneurial bricolage, mediated by business model innovation, on entrepreneurial performance. The study results contribute to a more effective understanding of the mechanisms through which entrepreneurial bricolage and business model innovation influence entrepreneurial performance, as well as how market orientation moderates their relationships and how enterprises sustain competitive advantages.

Background: This study will elaborate on previous research investigating the relationship between project success (customer perception; project characteristics; project performance; project team) and entrepreneurial performance (improved entrepreneurial action; company characteristics) and how project risk moderates this relationship. Aim: The research aim is to investigates the correlation between project success and entrepreneurial performance and how project risk moderates the relationship. This way, a better understanding of organisational performance and the contribution that project success can make is established. Setting: Survey data were collected from 369 South African project-oriented organisations. Method: The research design is a formal, ex post facto study, incorporating existing statistical measures between project success and entrepreneurial performance and how project risk moderates this relationship. Linear regressions were used to investigate these complex correlations and explore possible causal relationships. These regressions demonstrated possible patterns of relationships that appear consistent with specific causal interpretations and inconsistent with others. Results: Companies' characteristics or entrepreneurial activity are not significantly predicted by industry type or experience. Despite organisations initiating new projects, it does not necessarily imply innovation. Moreover, since most data came from people with less than five years in the field, it strongly indicated that lack of experience adversely affected the study. Conclusion and Contribution: There's only partial consistency between the results and previous studies, as volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity limit the reliability of project success. Practitioners and researchers can still benefit from the present study results despite its misalignment with previous research.

This article explores the impact of psychological capital on entrepreneurial performance in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Jatinangor District of Indonesia. The study uses a descriptive research design and simple linear regression analysis to examine the relationship between psychological capital and entrepreneurial performance. The findings suggest that higher psychological capital leads to improved performance in MSMEs. The research emphasizes the importance of psychological factors, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in enhancing and restoring businesses. Scholars have suggested that autonomy can lead to better entrepreneurial team performance. Yet, there are different types of autonomy, and they come at a cost. We shed light on whether two fundamental organizational design choices—granting teams autonomy to (1) choose project ideas to work on and (2) choose team members to work with—affect performance. We run a field experiment involving 939 students in a lean startup entrepreneurship course over 11 weeks. The aim is to disentangle the separate and joint effects of granting autonomy over choosing teams and choosing ideas compared with a baseline treatment with preassigned ideas and team members. We find that teams with autonomy over choosing either ideas or team members outperform teams in the baseline treatment as measured by pitch deck performance. The effect of choosing ideas is significantly stronger than the effect of choosing teams. However, the performance gains vanish for teams that are granted full autonomy over choosing both ideas and teams. This suggests the two forms of autonomy are substitutes. Causal mediation analysis reveals that the main effects of choosing ideas or teams can be partly explained by a better match of ideas with team members' interests and prior network contacts among team members, respectively. Although homophily and lack of team diversity cannot explain the performance drop among teams with full autonomy, our results suggest that self-selected teams fall prey to overconfidence and complacency too early to fully exploit the potential of their chosen idea. Under the condition of a perfect digital technology environment, teachers receive richer teaching resources to enhance their teaching ability, improve their teaching quality, and enrich their teaching content. Teachers teaching with computers could enhance students' learning motivation, reinforce peer cooperation, train students' autonomy, and enhance students' subject learning ability. Delivering vivid sounds and pictures through multimedia-assisted teaching could induce students' learning interests and further promote learning effectiveness. Using an experimental design model for the experimental research, 206 college students in Taiwan Province, as the experimental objects, are preceded by the 16-week (total 48 hours) digital technology-integrated entrepreneurship education experiment. Research findings show the following: 1. Teachers, according to students' learning satisfaction, check students' learning effectiveness to ensure teaching quality and timely modify teaching styles to better match students' learning needs. The benign interaction could largely assist in the improvement of the entire educational environment. 2. The global economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic is posing more challenges and problems than expected. Amid the re-building, innovation and entrepreneurship driven by digital technologies are still considered by many as the two important pillars of the regional economic recovery. In East Asia, for example, digital technologies have proven to be effective solutions to not only the pandemic and lockdowns but to the problems of post-pandemic recoveries. This collection explores this to substantiate our hypothesis from multiple aspects. We find that open innovation is an important digital strategy for firms during the post-pandemic era. The entrepreneurial performance of digital start-ups is notably influenced by information and communication technology and artificial intelligence. Simultaneously, the development of digital ventures needs additional help from government policies and local cultural institutions. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, information and communication technology (ICT), as a part of digital technology, was of particular help to microenterprises in obtaining resources. Drawing upon Conservation of Resources Theory, we investigated the impact of ICT use on entrepreneurial performance. To examine our hypotheses, data were collected from 206 Chinese microenterprises. The results suggest that ICT use was positively related to entrepreneurial performance, that network capabilities mediated the relationship between ICT use and entrepreneurial performance and that perceived ICT usefulness moderated the relationship between ICT use and network capabilities. University incubators are regarded as the main mode of promoting knowledge transfer and innovation development. How to overcome the lack of entrepreneurial experience and obtain positive external support is the key to improve entrepreneurial performance. The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of social capital on entrepreneurial performance through the enhancement of entrepreneurs' risk-taking behavior and incubator managers' proactive behavior. This study employed a quantitative approach: 414 entrepreneurs from 18 university incubators of Guizhou Province in China were investigated through stratified sampling and purpose sampling. SPSS.26 software was used for descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and multiple regression analysis. The analyses revealed a significant direct relationship between social capital and the entrepreneurial performance of new ventures in university incubators. The proactive behavior of incubator managers was found to moderate the relationship between social capital and entrepreneurial performance. Furthermore, entrepreneurs' risk-taking was found to moderate the relationship between relational social capital and entrepreneurial performance but did not affect the impacts of cognitive and structural social capital on entrepreneurial performance. The iteration of entrepreneurial opportunities is vital to the growth and maintenance of long-term competitive advantages of user enterprises. However, there needs to be more comprehensive theoretical discussion within the academic community on how entrepreneurial opportunity iteration contributes to the entrepreneurial performance of user enterprises. In this study, we investigate Smartmi Technology and Zepp Technology as the research subjects and employ the case study method encoded in the programmed rootedness theory to uncover the intrinsic mechanism by which the entrepreneurial opportunity iteration of user enterprises affects entrepreneurial performance and explicate the mechanistic model between different types of entrepreneurial opportunity iteration and the dual strategic orientations and entrepreneurial performance. Specifically, the entrepreneurial opportunity iterations of user enterprises are mainly categorized into efficiency-based and innovative entrepreneurial opportunity iterations. This study explores the moderating effects of environmental uncertainty (EU) and business strategy (BS) in order to experimentally investigate the impact of entrepreneurial personal characteristics (EPCs) on the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The study used a mixed-methods approach, gathering information from 213 SMEs through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method, data were evaluated. According to empirical findings, EPCs improve the performance of SME. Additionally, BS modifies the association between EPCs and SME performance. EU, however, deteriorates this connection. These results clarify the debate around the effect of EPCs on the performance of SMEs. By highlighting the favorable impact of EPCs on SME performance and the crucial significance of individual traits and business strategies in SME sustainability in Indonesia, this research can practically inform management policy on future business plans. The report suggests raising environmental management awareness, implementing an environmental orientation plan, and boosting environmental performance and business strategy to improve SME performance.
