AbstractThis study investigates event planners’ intentions to adopt augmented reality presentations (ARP) using the UTAUT model. Furthermore, this study aims to shift the focus from attendees’ to planners’ perspectives on technology adoption, extending the UTAUT model by introducing attendees’ engagement expectancy as a potential factor and understanding the roles of personal cognitive and affective responses. Data was collected from a sample of event planners in the U.S. A total of 156 valid responses were analyzed using PLS-SEM. Findings showed that event planners’ expectations of attendees’ engagement, performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions positively influenced their behavioral intentions to use ARP. Furthermore, this study revealed the potential antecedent role of perceived innovativeness and technology anxiety in the UTAUT model. Consequently, this research offers theoretical and practical implications for adopting various advanced ICTs across the hospitality and tourism industry beyond the events field. Event planning, handled by the event planner, involves organizing and coordinating events. The growing number of event planning companies has created a competitive environment where all strive to be the top choice for event managers. Ranking event planners can be subjective, as it depends on specific event requirements. Therefore, it is a crucial stage in selecting the best event planner since many criteria need to be considered. This study aims to identify event planner contractors and rank the alternatives by applying Consistent Fuzzy Linguistic Preference Relations (CFLPR). CFLPR is chosen because it reduces the number of comparisons, streamlines the process, and prevents inconsistencies, especially with large amounts of data. As hierarchy levels increase, there are more comparisons to make, leading to inconsistent decisions. CFLPR is also used to address the event planner selection issue comprehensively, improving the consistency of Fuzzy AHP and handling fuzzy judgments. This method constructs matrices of fuzzy preference relations using linguistic variables. This study considered 10 criteria to rank 3 alternatives Through CFLPR execution, Persona Fiza Bridal emerges as the top choice, followed by Butik Pengantin Seriheza and Nwahyu Butik Pengantin & Kecantikan. These rankings are based on consistent fuzzy linguistic preference relations, with the highest value assigned the top ranking and the lowest the last. Persona Fiza Bridal is thus recommended as the ideal event planner for Rio Event Management.

The authors propose a strategy to help event planners pivot and adjust to the post-COVID world. This involves the use of social media and sales force automation (SFA). The authors explain how both of these can be accomplished in a low cost, easy to learn and use manner by adopting LinkedIn. The authors also present three tools that will help the event planner assess if they and their personnel are ready to make such a change. The authors conclude with a set of managerial imperatives that include not only how to be proactive and competitive but also the operational adjustments that will be necessary for the mode of operation, the reach of the planner, how online presence and content will drive awareness, the role and definition of personnel, how client relationships are conducted, and how the different facets of the event itself will change. The purpose of this study was to replicate and extend Mair and Jago (2010) model in investigating the drivers of and barriers to greening events from event planner's perspective. This research adopted a mixed-methods approach. Six interviews were first conducted with event planners in executive or managerial positions in Macao. A questionnaire was then designed to empirically test the relationships between the drivers of and barriers to greening events and intention of greening events. Similarities and differences of the themes extracted from the interviews were compared with those reported by Mair and Jago. Quantitative results revealed that three drivers exerted significantly positive influences on intention of greening events, and two barrier themes negative ones. The study contributed to the literature by empirically testing and supplementing Mair and Jago's model with event planners in an Asian context. Discussions and implications were provided to compare and contrast the drivers of and barriers to greening events between Western and Eastern contexts, namely Macao. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cancellation clauses defines the “stipulation in an agreement that grants (to one or both parties) the right to terminate it before its expiration, under specified terms and conditions” . Thanks to this clause the work that have been done before is protected. By giving this definition it appears like an evidence to have this clause in a contract and even more in the Event industry as it’s an uncertain sector. However, thanks to the MADAM matric used to compare differences in each different contract we can observe that lot of contracts don’t protect very well both parties in case of termination. Cancellation clause defines the terms of a valid cancellation and protect all the work that already been done. Giving that definition, it will make sense that every contract have a cancellation clause well defined especially in the event sector where the event is uncertain until it starts. However, when comparing different types of contracts using a MADM matrix, we observed that many contracts do not protect well both parties in case of termination.
