The songs sung by the poets who excelled in the Tamil language in ancient times are included in the collections of ‘Ettuthogai’ (Eight Volumes), “Patthupattu” (Ten Volumes), and ‘Pathinen Keezh Kanakku Noolgal’ (Eighteen Books). It includes ‘Naaladiyaar’ and so on. The fact that our ancestors wrote and preserved these descriptions in palm leaves, called ‘Olaichuvadi’ (Palmleaf manuscript). The ones written in olaichuvadi formerly were now on replacement of paper. The texts written on the Olaichuvadi was written by the authors at a time was not clear today because of decay and archaic nature of the text. These were called "Uraipadi" (textual explanation). It has been the Guru's tradition for the teacher to teach the students a lesson and to write down what the students have asked the teacher to do. After the discovery of the paper, they wrote texts similar to the ones written on palm leaves. They called it the paper chuvadi. Thus writing on paper and it continued till the nineteenth century. With the invention of the printer at the turn of the century, the grammar and literature on the olaichuvadi began to rise one by one for print. In that sense, ‘Thiruvalluvamalai’ was first published in Tamil Literature in 1812 along with ‘Pathinen Keezhkanakku’, ‘Thirukkural’ and ‘Naladiyar’. Thereafter, each of the ‘Pathinen Keezhkanakku”, such as ‘Asarakovai’, ‘Eladi’, was published by the editors until 1931. Early publishers who published the book from the Olaichuvadi performed various tasks such as searching for Olaichuvadi, copying, reading, approving, and researching. Arumugam Naavalar and more was the first to do so with excellence. That is why we call them “Pathippu Munnodigal” (Pioneers of Tamil publishing). The paper tries to trace the roots of the early period editions of Pathinen Keezhkanakku books.

BIBLIOGRAPHY ,TEXTUAL criticism - Abstract
The first edition of Os Lusíadas, by Luís de Camões, has long attracted the attention of scholars, and its surviving copies are mysterious objects. Over the years, different hypotheses have been proposed and a range of methodologies employed, in attempts to explain their mysteries. This study is based on the analysis of twenty-five copies, applying techniques from the field of material bibliography. Using mechanical collation, it argues that two different editions were printed, bearing the same date. It proposes a classification system and terminology, which affects the editions, the copies and the sheets which constitute each copy. This study seeks to make an initial contribution to the ongoing debate on the number of editions dated 1572; further observations, which could make the ultimate answer more nuanced, will be published in future. PUBLISHING ,COINCIDENCE ,REFORMATION ,ORGANISTS ,HONOR - Abstract
The piece in the title, dated back in 1850, was a milestone. It is not only the first and most significant organ piece of Liszt, but also one of those pieces which every organist has to deal with sooner or later, and for the interpretation, they have to ask and answer many questions. For this study, the first edition, published in 1852 and available online, provides many references, while the manuscript is difficult to access. It is no coincidence that, at the hundredth anniversary of Bach's death, Liszt began to write a large-scale organ piece to worship the art of the great composer. It may also be intentional to date the completion of the piece on the Remembrance Day of the Reformation. Both the inevitability of the composition, and the Protestant aspects, and not lastly, the personal commitment of Professor István Dávid to the piece, prompt me to try to find answers to some of the basic questions of this grandiose piece, and publish them - without the need of completeness - in the book to be published in honour of him. - Abstract
The National Center of Geographic Information (CNIG) carries out projects whose objective is the publication of different resources of our cartographic heritage, works that are carried out in collaboration with the Map Library and the Department of Territorial Observation of the National Geographic Institute (IGN). Access to already published resources can be done in different ways: through the CNIG download center, through Web Map Service (WMS) services, Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) services and IGN's own clients, published by the CNIG. These tools have been created based on the use and the identified needs of the users. The statistics on the use of these services and applications have shown that, although they are not included in the topics included in the INSPIRE Directive, old cartography is widely accepted. For all these reasons, during the last years, we have worked on the publication of old cartography and orthophotographs. This article presents the characteristics of web services published on Cartographic Heritage and the layers of information they contain, as well as examples of visualizers and web applications where they have been implemented with the aim of bringing this type of information to users and promoting thus its use and exploitation. Historical evidences include inscriptions, copper plates, coins, palm leaf manuscripts and paper manuscripts. Many literary, grammatical, mathematical, medical, astronomical and historical works handed down to us by our forefathers are also present in paper trails. These are also primary sources of evidence in the field. In that sense, the role of paper traces is also primary in the edition history of Aganaanooru, one of the Sangam literatures. Considering the scope of the research, this article examines the editions that came before 1940 and highlights the utility of paper manuscripts in them.

This text presents the philological analysis of the different editions of the novel Toá:Narraciones de Caucherías (1933) by Colombian writer César Uribe Piedrahita. This analysis is essentially based on the theory of textual criticism, which presents a derivation of a philological methodology for the execution of the critical edition of the text, which implies an edition faithful to the original or closer to the will of the writer. In this way, the analysis of the editions of Toá allowed the identification and selection of them, the exposition of their editorial characteristics and the execution of the comparison from the first edition, and then continuing with the process of textual fixation; process that finally allowed the execution of the critical edition of the novel with their respective philological variants and explanatory notes. Lastly, it is concluded that the editorial process of the five editions of the novel Toá showed inconsistencies of all kinds, inconsistencies that this critical edition aims to correct.

This paper proposes a review of the editions made in Gerona (1628) of Quevedo's Discurso de todos los diablos, in order to argue which one is the princeps. The writer's personal circumstances at the end of 1628 and the beginning of 1629 - unattended by the most recent editors of this satire in their analysis of this question-- seem to support the hypothesis that the first edition is the one that contains Cuento de cuentos in ten unnumbered pages at the end of the book (DG1 in the abbreviations used by Marañón Ripoll, C in the ones by Rey). The 1868 edition of the full score of Der Schauspieldirektor in the Unisa Library is one of only four copies that could be found in a worldwide search of libraries. When the first printed score of this work is referred to in sources, it is always the 1882 edition that appeared as part of the Alte Mozart Ausgabe that is referred to, never this one. Even the staff of the Mozarteum in Salzburg was unaware of the 1868 edition until it was brought to their attention by a member of the Unisa staff in 1988. The most remarkable aspect of the 1868 edition is that it contains ritornellos to the arias for the two sopranos, the ariette and the rondo, which are not in the autograph score. The originals of these introductions have not yet been traced. Rietz made an unequivocal decision in favour of including the two introductions. It is the opinion of the author of this article that according to the available evidence, this was an informed and still valid decision. Another unequivocal and valid decision of Rietz in 1868 was not to differentiate in the score between Mozart's dots and strokes but to publish all as dots. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A short note about the editions of the Parini’s ode “A Silvia”The most authoritative text of Parini’s ode A Silvia has been identified by Dante Isella, then confimed by Franco Longoni and Mirella D’Ettorre. It is an opuscule whose text is considered more correct than the one published in Como, considered the editio princeps. The two opuscules are typographically similar, although published by different printers: the first one has probably been printed by the same printer of the ode Alla Musa, now archived in Ambrosiana Library (Milan)., The most authoritative text of the Parini’s ode A Silvia has been identified by Dante Isella, confimed by Franco Longoni and Mirella D’Ettorre. This study is the first in Japan, and perhaps in the world, to examine the first edition of Ferd. Beyer's preliminary school for the pianoforte op.101, published by the German publisher Schott in 1850. In order to ascertain the first edition, we compared four old versions in detail: the first old version is owned by us that we bought in the antiquarian bookstore in Germany, the second old version is housed at Yale University Library, and the third and fourth old versions are in the possession of the Austrian National Library. The conclusion is that the first old version is the first edition by Shott.

On one hand, this article pretends to recover the history hidden behind this first edition, published underground at the beginning of the Century 19th. On other hand, it presents the critical problems, such as additions, eliminations, contaminations and replacements, that the poem shows according to his comparison with the remaining testimonies conserved.

Stjepan Brodarić ,Historia verissima ,prvo izdanje ,Stephanus Brodericus ,first edition - Abstract
One of the most famous texts ever written by a humanist in the Kingdom of Hungary is the Historia verissima of Stephanus Brodericus (Stjepan Brodarić, ca 1480–1539). It is the only source we have describing the events of the decisive battle at Mohács, 1526, written by an eyewitness. Due to its unique status, the text of Brodericus has been analysed and interpreted many times by many scholars, first of all by historians, in the endeavour to reconstruct the course of the battle from the account of Brodericus. On the other hand, literary historians paid much less attention to the circumstances in which this celebrated text was written. According to the literature, Brodericus wrote the Historia verissima because he was charged by the Polish King to give an account about the defeat in which the nephew of King Sigismund had died, and because he himself wanted to defend his fellow-countrymen against Cuspinianus, who had accused the Hungarians of cowardice and treachery. It is generally accepted, too, that the Historia was written sometime in the spring of 1527 and that it was printed by Vietor in Cracow on 18 April 1527. This date has never been disputed, although not a single copy of this edition is preserved, and the only source that mentions this edition is the Janociana, a bibliography written in the second half of the 18th century, i.e. 250 years later. Recently, however, I came across a new source referring to the origin of the Historia, in the light of which the abovementioned date is called into question. In the first part of my paper I am going to prove that Brodericus wrote the Historia not earlier than 1528, from which it naturally follows that 1527 cannot be the year of its first edition. In the second part of the paper I am going to answer the question that obviously arises: when was Historia published for the first time? The answer to this question is of crucial importance because Brodericus’ work played a prominent role in the construction of the Mohács-concept; we can count on its impact on early modern historiography only after the date of the first edition., Jedan od naglasovitijih tekstova što su ikad potekli iz pera humanista koji je djelovao u Ugarskom Kraljevstvu svakako je De conflictu Hungarorum cum Solymano Turcarum imperatore ad Mohacs historia verissima Stjepana Brodarića (Stephanus Brodericus, oko 1480–1539).
