Diplomsko delo opisuje razvoj in izvedbo kolekcije oblačil, imenovane Vulkan, ki je nastala v okviru spremljevalnega projekta Katedre za oblikovanje tekstilij in oblačil ob razstavi Koptske tkanine iz zbirk Narodnega muzeja leta 2019. V okviru projekta so bile predstavljene sodobne interpretacije koptskih tekstilij in oblačil. V teoretičnem delu je opisana zgodovina Koptov in njihov glavni oblačilni kos - tunika. Poglobil sem se v zgodovino tunike in opisal njene značilnosti. Navedel sem tudi oblikovalce, ki v svojih oblačilnih podobah tudi izhajajo iz tunike. V eksperimentalnem delu je prikazan razvoj kolekcije oblačil in detajlov, izrezanih na laserskem izrezovalniku. Rezultat diplomskega dela je sodobna modna kolekcija z izhodiščem v koptski tuniki in likovnem izrazu vulkanskih izbruhov. The thesis describes the development and implementation of a clothing collection called Volcanic Impact, which was created as part of the accompanying project of the Department of Textile and Clothing Design at the exhibition Coptic Fabric from the National Museum in 2019. The project presented contemporary interpretations of Coptic textiles and clothing. The theoretical part describes the history of the Copts and their main clothing item - the tunic. I delved into the history of the tunic and described its features. I also mentioned the designers, who also included the tunic in their clothing collections. The experimental part shows the development of a collection of clothes and details cut on a laser cutter. The result of the diploma work is a modern fashion collection with a starting point in a Coptic tunic and the artistic expression of volcanic eruptions.

Diplomsko delo prikazuje postopke mehanske obdelave, ki so potrebni za izdelavo škripca AL 100. V diplomskem delu je predstavljen potek dela od skiciranja neuspelih oziroma neuporabnih sistemov do nastanka skice sistema, ki se je v nadaljevanju izkazal kot primeren. Sledilo je modeliranje samozaporne gredi z vsemi ostalimi spremembami in dodatnimi deli. Po zaključku modeliranja je bil škripec izdelan in poslan v laboratorij za testiranje izdelkov za pridobitev certifikata. Pri kalkulacijah cen izdelave je bilo ugotovljeno, da se je sistem samozaporne gredi glede na staro izvedo podražil za 4,5 %. In ker se je izkazal za zelo praktičnega, uporabnega in predvsem varnega, se je podjetje odločilo da njegova prodajna cena ostane ista, po nekaj dodatnih testiranjih pa ga bodo vključili v proizvodnjo. This diploma thesis shows the mechanical processing procedures which are required for the manufacturing of an AL 100 pulley. The paper presents the work process from the sketching of failed or useless systems to the sketch of the system which finally proved to be appropriate. This was followed by the modelling of the self-locking beam with all the changes and additional work. Once the modelling was completed, the pulley was manufactured and sent to the product testing laboratory in order to obtain the certificate. When calculating the price of manufacturing, it was established that the system with the self-locking beam was by 4.5% more expensive than the previous version. As it has proven to be very practical, useful, and, most importantly, safe, the company decided not to change its selling price and once additional tests have been concluded, it will include it in production.

Namen diplomske naloge je oblikovati kolekcijo oblačil s kombiniranjem ročnih tehnik in novodobnih procesov in tehnologij. Inspiracija za kolekcijo oblačil je bila tehnika triosnega tkanja. V nadaljevanju so bile vključene še druge tehnologije, kot sta laserski izrez in digitalni tisk. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljeno triosno tkanje, njegov postopek ter njegovi barvni vzorci. Prav tako sta opisani tehniki digitalnega tiska in laserskega izreza, njun razvoj in uporaba v modnem oblikovanju. Naštetih je tudi nekaj primerov omenjenih tehnik v sodobnih kolekcijah modnega oblikovanja. V eksperimentalnem delu je opisan proces oblikovanja modne kolekcije. Opisano je vse od začetne inspiracije, ciljne skupine, razvoja kolekcije do barvne palete in materialov. Prav tako so vključene skice line up te kolekcije in tehnične skice. The aim of the thesis was to design a womanswear collection with the combining of handmade techniques and technology. The inspiration for the collection was the technique of triaxial weaving. In the continuation technologies, such as lasercut and sigital printing got added. The theoretical part of the thesis explains triaxial weaving, the process of weaving and possible patterns. I also explain digital printing and lasercut, their development and use in modern fashion design. I also listed a couple examples of all the techniques in modern fashion collections. In the experimental part I present my whole process of designing the collection. I present the initial inspiration, the process of choosing colours and the materials and present the line up and the technical drawings of the collection.

Namen diplomske naloge je bil oblikovati sodobno žensko kolekcijo z inspiracijo v ročnih tehnikah. Inspiracija je izhajala iz prepleta niti pri pletenih košarah, kar je vodilo do raziskave in eksperimentiranja s tehniko ročnega tkanja. V teoretičnem delu sem temeljito raziskala tehniko tkanja, njeno zgodovino in razvoj ter uporabo ročnega tkanja v sodobnem življenju in modnih kolekcijah. Prav tako sem proučila razvoj digitalnega tiska in laserskega izreza ter njuno uporabo v sodobnih kolekcijah. V eksperimentalnem delu je predstavljen celoten proces razvoja kolekcije z izhodiščem v ročnem tkanju. Pojasnila sem, kako sem prišla do končne, uporabljene tehnike in kako sem jo vključila v samo kolekcijo. Razložen je tudi celoten proces izbiranja barv in materialov. The objective of my thesis was to design a modern women’s collection, inspired by handweaving techniques. The inspiration came from the interlaced threads in weave baskets and led to research and experiments with the handweaving technique. Theoretical part of the thesis thoroughly explains the weaving technique, its history and development and its usage in the modern world, especially in fashion. I explored the development of digital printing and laser cutting and their usage in the modern fashion collections. Experimental part represents the whole process of designing a collection based on a handwoven texture. It explains the methods that led to the chosen technique and its integration into the collection. It also elaborates the process of choosing colours and materials.

V diplomski nalogi je predstavljen proces raziskave in oblikovanja kolekcije za modno hišo Dior. Namen diplomskega dela je bil oblikovati sodobno žensko in moško kolekcijo z izhodiščem v naravi, predvsem v oblikah in teksturah semen oz. semenskih glav. V teoretičnem delu je predstavljena povezanost Diorja z naravo, njegovo navduševanje nad žensko, impresionizmom ter vpliv narave na njegove kreacije. Kolekcija je zasnovana na podlagi oblikovanja Rafa Simonsa in Krisa van Asscha, zato je tudi njuno oblikovanje kot del modne hiše Dior natančneje predstavljeno. Oba oblikovalca sta skozi svoje kreacije združevala prvinske lastnosti znamke in ročne tehnologije ter jih kombinirala s sodobnimi. Tako sta modno hišo ohranjala inovativno. V diplomski nalogi je zato poudarek predvsem na sodobnih tehnologijah. Natančneje sta predstavljeni dve, laserski izrez in digitalni tisk, ki sta bili uporabljeni tudi v kolekciji Principium. Eksperimentalni del prikazuje razvoj kolekcije od raziskave teme in izdelave vzorcev do končne izvedbe sedmih izbranih silhuet. Predstavljeni sta moška in ženska kolekcija, ki se opirata na izhodišče modne hiše Dior, interpretacijo hortikulture ter uporabo sodobnih tehnologij. V celotnem procesu oblikovanja kolekcije gre za izmenjavanje ročnih tehnik in uporabe sodobne tehnologije, od ustvarjanja kolažev, priprave materiala za izdelavo vzorcev, izdelave vzorcev in laserskega rezanja krojnih delov do njihovega sestavljanja v zanimive teksture. In this thesis we will present the process of research and creation of a new fashion collection as done by Dior. The main goal of this thesis is to create a new modern fashion collection for men and women, based on inspiration taken from nature – mostly in the form of shapes and textures of seeds and seed heads. The theoretical portion of the thesis covers the connection between Dior and nature, their fascination with the female figure, impressionism and the effect nature has on their fashion creations. The collection featured in this thesis is based on the work of Raf Simons and Kris van Assche, as such we have provided more details about their work in our research. Through their respective collections, both designers have merged elements of modern technology, hand-crafted techniques and primary brand traits. Their work kept Dior on the edge of innovation. Due to the nature of their work our thesis reflects the focus on new technologies and techniques. For our thesis we have selected and detailed two of such new techniques: laser cuts and digital print which are both featured in the Principium collection. The practical portion of the thesis covers the development of a new collection, starting with the research of a theme, creation of the first samples and all the way to finalization of seven selected silhouettes. We will present both a collection for men and for women, which take inspiration from Dior, interpret horticulture and use modern techniques. The entire process from collage creation, material preparation, samples, pattern laser cutting and assembly involves mixing hand-crafting techniques with modern technology.
