This paper discusses the analytical modelling of a segmented switched reluctance linear synchronous motor (SSRLSM) using a magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) based on the permeance analysis method (PAM). The PAM is applied to obtain the MEC of the SSRLSM, considering the flux path pattern in the air gap region between the stator and mover. The PAM is used to create the air gap permeance model. The developed permeance model was transformed into a MEC. The MEC corresponds to an electrical circuit based on the geometry of the machine and the estimated magnetic flux path to solve the SSRLSM thrust performance analysis. The equation is derived from the MEC of the SSRLSM and used to analyse the characteristics of the thrust performance of the SSRLSM. The effect of mover position and phase current on the thrust is investigated and analysed. To validate the model of the SSRLSM, the thrust characteristics were compared with FEM and measurement results. The comparison shows good agreement.

Linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) and its applications in different industries have been an interesting research topic for the past few years. LSRMs have proved to be a suitable alternative in a variety of applications requiring linear motion. However, its use is not that popular which instigated an active interest in the evolution of newer LSRM configurations. Enhancement in its propulsion force along with the reduction in force ripples, weight, acoustic noise, and vibration have been the main objectives in recently proposed LSRM designs. In this paper, recently proposed LSRM designs are reviewed and analyzed. The paper presents a one-stop introduction and a complete update to the designs, both in terms of qualitative and quantitative parameters. In addition, it takes into account the challenges in the implementation of these designs. Based on a detailed comparison of these designs as presented in this paper, an appropriate design can be chosen for a given application.

Due to high precision, high speed, and high fault tolerance capability, the linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) is applied in digital control technologies as well as electronic switching devices. The LSRM is considered as a good substitute for conventional linear drive systems for long-way transportation. In this paper, a single-stator and double-stator longitudinal flux-type LSRM for high-speed transit system is proposed. Since the flux in the longitudinal arrangement is in the same alignment as the motion of the translator, the proposed system is easier to construct, mechanically stable with minimum eddy current loss. It also produces the magnetic flux along the direction of motion, which makes it highly suitable for high-speed linear transit application. The proposed conceptual LSRM differs from the conventional LSRM, in such a way that the active stator holds the excitation windings, while at the same time it acts as a translational body that moves over the stationary translator bed. The motor characterization is performed in ANSYS electromagnetic simulation tool, to determine the applied forces, coupling inductance, and strength of the magnetic field of the proposed LSRM for the traction propulsion system. Linear Motors are potential candidates for replacing traditional rotary motors in high-speed transit systems. Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) is the widely researched motor for such applications. This paper presents a design for linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) with an improved propulsion force profile. The proposed motor consists of moving translator for direct drive transmission, without the use of mechanical gears. The stator contains a split-teethed stator structure. The proposed motor has more translator teeth than stator teeth. This paper includes a new design methodology for the proposed combination of stator and translator. The motor is designed and analyzed using 3-D finite-element method (FEM). The proposed motor has been optimized using a parameter-based cumulative deterministic optimization algorithm (PBCDOA) for further improving the force profile. In this paper, a novel linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) is introduced in which the total electromagnetic losses and dimensions are significantly reduced compared to the conventional LSRMs. The LSRM's stator has a segmental structure, while its rotor possesses a seven pole configuration with three rotor poles equipped with the winding sets to generate the magnetic flux. The other remaining four rotor poles, i.e., auxiliary poles, are responsible for closing the magnetic flux path loop. In the proposed LSRM-auxiliary mover poles (LSRM-AMP), the flux path length is effectively reduced using the optimized provided auxiliary poles. Therefore, the required magnetomotive force (MMF) is reduced compared to the conventional LSRMs. In addition, as only half of the generated flux passes the stator segments, the dimensions of the stator segments and their corresponding weights are significantly reduced without any saturation issue. In order to verify the finite element (FE)-based performance prediction of the proposed structure, the electromagnetic operating principles and the design rules of the LSRM-AMP are separately investigated. A sensitivity analysis and comparative study for the proposed LSRM-AMP and conventional LSRM topologies are presented to show the performance and characteristics superiority of the optimized LSRM-AMP structure. Linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) has proven its suitability in transit applications due to the advantages of direct drive, low cost and simple mechanical structure. In evolution of LSRM, its force performance is the prime concern for the manufacturers. This factor is mainly governed by its physical design. Force characteristics are quite important for obtaining precise design of the LSRM. Because of its nonlinear characteristics, quantitative measurement method for measuring various parameters of the LSRM has not been generalized. This paper discusses finite element analysis-based design considerations for measuring various performance parameters of the LSRM. The paper incorporates the design studies of the LSRM as per analytical expressions and validated using finite element method (FEM)-based ANSYS/Maxwell software. Finite element analysis includes measurement of force, flux and inductance characteristics of the LSRM. Further, it optimizes the motor parameters for maximizing the thrust force of the motor. The proposed study is crucial in estimating various performance parameters of the LSRM using FEM and propagating the traceability chain in parameter estimation of LSRM using three-dimensional FEM-based model of the motor. Linear Motors forms an integral part of propulsion systems used in linear motor propelled high-speed transport systems. Generally, motors such as linear induction and linear synchronous are preferred worldwide for these applications. In spite of showing the immense capabilities, linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) is still under research for applications in high-speed systems. This paper focuses on a LSRM with enhanced propulsion force for the application in high-speed transportation systems. It has a linear structure with moving translator for direct force transmission and two-teeth in each stator pole to attain better force performance. In the proposed motor, translator teeth count is more as compared to the stator teeth count. A 6/16 LSRM with three- phase split-teeth stator has been proposed. The performance of the proposed 6/16 LSRM has been compared with 6/4 and 6/8 three-phase conventional motors to highlight the improvements in the proposed motor. The paper also modifies the proposed 6/16 LSRM into 12/32 configuration to analyse its force ripple reduction capability. The performance of the 6/16 is compared with the 12/32 LSRM. All the motors are modelled and analysed in 3D with the help of finite-element analysis (FEA). The paper optimizes the 6/16 LSRM using parameter based cumulative deterministic optimization algorithm (PBCDOA) to maximize its propulsion force. A new structure of a linear switched reluctance motor is proposed in this paper. With the permanent magnet inserted in the movers, the performance of the original motor is improved. An electromagnetic analysis is done by using the finite element analysis. The influence of the permanent magnets in different positions of the movers on the electromagnetic force is investigated. Furthermore, a theoretical analysis is made, based on the Schwarz–Christoffel transformation and the Maxwell stress tensor method. The mathematic model is also made with the consideration of the end effect and the cogging effect. The theoretical result of the electromagnetic force is compared with the simulation result. The comparison shows that the error is limited. The analysis of the flux, the magnetic field, and the inductance is then made. The results confirm that the new structure makes the motor more linearized. The new structure of linear switched reluctance motor can contribute to reducing the ripple in the electromagnetic force. In the present paper, an electromagnetic simulation model is introduced for the conventional type of linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) in which the dynamic characteristics of the motor are predicted precisely by carrying out 2D finite element (FE) transient analysis using ANSYS FE package. The simulation model is created totally in ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) as a parametric model and it can be used easily for different designs of the conventional LSRMs. Introducing linear switched reluctance motor with segmental translator as a new type of LSRM, performance principles and design criteria are presented for two various topologies of this motor. Carrying out 2D FE transient analysis, dynamic characteristics of these two motors are predicted and compared to those obtained for the conventional LSRM.

Abstract This paper describes the position measurement and control of a thin and compact linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) with a disposable-film mover. The paper proposes a position measurement method using the combination of the eddy current sensor output and a lookup table based on a previously measured information. The position measurement system based on the method is integrated into the developed LSRM to increase the disposability of the mover. The proposed method is robust to reproducible amplitude variation of the sensor output owing to the deformation of the mover. Experimental results showed that the measurement system can produce reliable position information, with a measurement error of up to 25 μm and a resolution that is better than 10 μm. A new direct adaptive fuzzy speed control method for a linear switched reluctance motor with unknown control gain sign is presented. The proposed control system consists of two parts: a fuzzy system and an adaptive law. Fuzzy system approximates an unknown ideal control law with unknown adjustable parameters. After determination of the control law, an appropriate adaptation law is designed to update the adjustable parameters to achieve control objectives. The adaptation law is designed using the error between the unknown ideal control law and fuzzy control law. Unlike previous works, in this study, the unknown control gain sign is taken as an unknown constant parameter and is determined online by an appropriate adaptation law. Proposed control method along with a fuzzy sliding mode speed control and a proportional integral speed control strategies are experimentally studied and the performance index is used to evaluate each strategy. The robustness of the proposed method to the parameters and external load force change has been verified via simulation and experiments. This paper describes a suitable motion system design that utilizes a thin and compact linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) with a disposable-film mover. The motor features a simple structure that is easy to fabricate and install into existing and newly designed instruments. Made using readily available materials, the mover is considered disposable. To meet the objectives of a motion system, i.e., simplicity in terms of use and mover exchangeability, the motion performance should remain the same even when the mover is exchanged. To meet these objectives, it is desirable to provide controllers that are robust to changes to the movers, and it is important to clarify the limitations of the motion performance resulting from the different motor characteristics. Thus, using a controller designed for precise tracking, experiments were carried out to verify the robustness of the motion system against the influences of changes in the length and mass of the movers. The limitations of the motion performance were then formulated for systems with a small effective thrust force such as those used in the developed LSRM, and validated. Based on the results achieved, the range of additional mass specifically applied to maintain the same motion performance is clarified in the present paper.

In this paper, a six-phase switched reluctance motor for applications such as vertical transportation in a linear elevator is considered. The driving force ripple in a linear switched reluctance is high and the use of these machines in low speeds are accompanying with high speed ripple. In fact, the proposed construction consists of the combination of two 3-phase series linear switched reluctance motors which make a 6-phase structure in order to provide a better torque specification. In this paper we tried to reach a better speed profile in low speeds (0.5 m/s up to 1 m/s) which is normally the case in elevators. The simulation results show the superiority of the proposed structure over conventional structure of the switched reluctance motors. The proposed structure reduces the speed ripple from 16.8% to 1.24% at 0.5 m/s. This result shows the high performance improvement of the 6-phase structure of the motor.

A fuzzy position controller is employed for the linear switched reluctance motor. Performance comparison between the fuzzy controller and a proportional-differential (PD) controller is carried out. Under the PD controller, the absolute steady-state error is 44.5 ~211.5 μm under normal condition and 1157–1212 μm under sustained time-variant disturbance circumstance, respectively. The absolute steady-state error of 3 μm and 9 μm can be achieved under the fuzzy controller in the normal and sustained disturbed circumstance. Experimental results demonstrate that the position tracking performance from the proposed algorithm is superior to the conventional PD control strategy, both in normal circumstance and disturbance environment. This paper describes the development and precise positioning control of a thin and compact linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM). The LSRM that has been developed has a mover that is easy to fabricate and can be disposable. The mover can be easily separated from the stator, allowing it to be changed frequently or discarded in a hazardous application. The prototyped LSRM mover is only 0.128 mm thick with the stator measuring 2.0 mm at its thickest point. These features are highly desirable for space savings while being cost-effective. However, the LSRM has a strong nonlinear driving characteristic that presents a challenge with respect to precision control. In order to overcome this problem and achieve precision positioning, a linearizer unit was designed and integrated into the controller to compensate for the nonlinear relationships among the effective thrust force, mover position, and excitation current. The usefulness of the designed controller was examined experimentally. The experimental positioning results show that the steady-state errors were all less than 1 μm in the working range of the LSRM. This paper describes a new linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) with a light and easily replaceable mover. The proposed LSRM has coils at both ends of the stator so as to have a thin shape, which is important for systems with a limited work space. The mover has a simple and thin shape, leading to easy fabrication and space savings. It is made from common materials and is easily recyclable. The flat areas on the surfaces of the mover and stator are used as a slide guide. The prototype LSRM has a thickness of 2.4 mm, and the thickness of the mover is 0.27 mm. The suitable driving signal for the proposed LSRM is determined from the numerical magnetic analysis results. The prototype LSRM shows a velocity higher than 285 mm/s and an acceleration higher than 3 m/s2.

A novel stator geometry for a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) that improves the force profile is presented inthis paper. In the new geometry, pole shoes are affixed on the stator poles. Static characteristics for the proposed structurehave been highlighted using two dimensional (2-D) finite element analyses (FEA). A detailed sensitivity analysis of the effectof several geometrical parameters on the performance of the proposed LSRM is presented. Further, motor performance forvariable load conditions is discussed. The 2-D FEA results and the experimental results of this paper prove that LSRMs areone of the strong candidates for linear propulsion drives.

In this paper, the results of a finite element analysis are carried out on an new stator geometry of a three phase longitudinal flux Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM). In the new geometry, pole shoes are affixed to the stator poles. Static and dynamic characteristics for the proposed structure have been highlighted. Motor performance for variable load conditions is discussed. Frequency spectrum analyses of force profile using the fast Fourier transform (FFT) are described to predict the vibration frequencies. The 2-Dimensional (2-D) finite element analysis (FEA) and the experimental results of this paper prove that LSRMs are one of the strong candidates for linear propulsion drives.

This paper presents and discusses the longitudinal and transversal end effects which affects the propulsive force of linear motors. Generally, the modeling of linear machine considers the forces distortion due to the specific geometry of linear actuators. The insertion of permanent magnets on the stator allows improving the propulsive force produced by switched reluctance linear motors. Also, the inserted permanent magnets in the hybrid structure allow reducing considerably the ends effects observed in linear motors. The analysis was conducted using 2D and 3D finite elements method. The permanent magnet reinforces the flux produced by the winding and reorients it which allows modifying the impact of end effects. For that purpose, an analytical approach is developed to evaluate the different forces and pressures involved. In addition, an experimental bench was conceived to determine the thrust force and validate the analytical model of the syringe. Consequent results constituted the key element for designing and modeling the LSRM with the help of finite element methods (FEM). This paper presents low-cost velocity and position control of a double-sided linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM). This investigation gives a detailed presentation of modeling, simulation and experimental results as well as open and closed loop controls. In addition, control strategy was achieved by the help of proportional-integrator (PI) controller in order to ensure smooth motion with highly reduced position and force oscillations. For low-cost purposes, PIC18F452 control board and inverter-based MOSFET are used. This simple approach helps to integrate the actuator in high precision industrial applications. The linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) has emerged to be the most promising alternative due to the development of power controllers in the past years. In this paper, a novel configuration of LSRM with an active-stator-passive-translator is proposed for the traction propulsion system. It comprises a short active stator retrofitted with the transit mover, while a long stationary translator is considered as rail guidance of the system. In this paper, high grade M-19 cold-rolled non-oriented steel is utilized for manufacturing the stator and translator cores. The proposed configuration of electric locomotive makes use of force generated from linear switched reluctance motors to propel it on parallel rails and pushes the coaches attached to the wagon for carrying the functional load. Finally, the motor characterization is performed in ANSYS electromagnetic simulation tool, to determine the applied forces, coupling inductance, and strength of magnetic field of the proposed LSRM for the traction propulsion system. The coordinated tracking control for the group motion control system based on three direct-drive double-sided linear switched reluctance motors (LSRMs) is investigated in this paper. The system construction for the proposed coordinated tracking system is elaborated, including the unit system and group system design, communication configuration among unit systems, and stability and performance analysis of the group system. The coordinated control performance is concentrated on three identical LSRMs with different communication topologies. Experimental results demonstrate that necessary bidirectional interactions between the unit systems contribute to the coordination performance. This paper presents issues in designing an electromechanical actuator-a reluctance inductor linear motor (RILM), which can be used as a shock absorber in the active suspension of electric and hybrid vehicles. A method for design calculation of tubular-form RILM module for an automotive suspension is proposed. For the proposed design, formulas that determine the geometric parameters are selected for the armature form, dimensions of the air gap, motor step, and winding parameters. The developed module of the electromechanical actuator has a form factor of a solenoid with an open magnetic system without a stopper. On this basis, selection and determination of the geometric dimensions of the module elements are determined operating under quasi-optimal ratios of basic dimensions in the magnetic core. The choice of high supply voltage is substantiated. In order to test and perfect the presented design methodology, the designed module is simulated with numerical calculation methods of the magnetic field and special calculation models. Results of calculations and simulations showed good qualitative and quantitative agreement. A module design with a smooth heterogeneous armature is selected as a result of the simulation. This paper presents a comprehensive comparison between conventional (longitudinal ux) linear switched reluctance machines (CLSRMs) and transverse ux linear switched reluctance machines (TLSRMs) so as to enable engineers to choose a structure suitable for their applications. A commonly-used single-sided CLSRM and 4 different TLSRM structures are considered for the comparison. For a fair comparison of the 2 types of LSRMs, equal dimensions, including equal length and magnetomotive force, are applied as much as possible. The analytical approach and 3-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA) are employed to obtain the performance of these machines. It is proven analytically that the CLSRM has a higher force capability compared to TLSRMs by as much as 6 times under linear B-H characteristic operating points. The results are reinforced by the FEA-based performance results. Furthermore, the CLSRMs are simpler to construct, resulting in lower manufacturing cost and thus paving an easier path for their market acceptance than TLSRMs. These results make CLSRMs the structure of choice for linear-switched reluctance motors. In this study, an EI core linear actuator is proposed for horizontal movement systems. It is a transverse ux linear switched reluctance motor designed with an EI core structure geometrically. The actuator is configured into three phases and at a 6/4 pole ratio, and it has a stationary active stator along with a sliding passive translator. The stator consists of E cores and the translator consists of I cores. The actuator has a yokeless design because the stator and translator have no back iron. The E and I cores are separated from each other to provide a fault-tolerant design and decrease the weight. The proposed model is analyzed by 3D finite element method. Phase inductance, ux linkage, and axial forces are examined by magnetostatic finite element analysis and verified by analytical approximations and experimental results. This paper presents the simulation, control, and experimental results of the velocity of a double-sided, 6/4-poled, 3-phased, 8 A, 24 V, 250 W, and 250 N pull force linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM). In the simulation and experimental study, the reference velocity is constant depending on the position and time. The velocity versus the position of the translator was controlled with fuzzy logic control (FLC) and proportional-integral (PI) control techniques. The motor was controlled by PI control method with a PIC18F452 microcontroller due to its low cost. The results of the velocity of a translator were compared with the simulation results of the PI control and FLC techniques. It was seen that the PIC18F452 microcontroller is sufficient in the velocity control of the LSRM, and in the FLC method, the force and velocity ripples are lower than in the PI control method. In this study, a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) with 250 W, 6/4 poles, 3 phases, and 24 V was controlled with a programmable logic controller (PLC). Some parameters of the LSRM were set, and for PC monitoring, software developed by the authors was used. A serial port was used for communication between the PC and the PLC. The software was developed with Visual C#.Net 2008 for monitoring and controlling. This user interference allows for controlling of the motor's travelling distance with a running strategy. The first and second destination can be defined and the system provides that the motor operates between these points continuously. The phase and velocity currents of the motor were shown and curved with the software. The existing position of the motor and the number of pulses were determined and displayed with a linear incremental encoder. The windings of the motor phases were energized depending on their position using a classical bridge converter. This PLC-controlled LSRM study leads industrial practices and the educational sector to highlight the importance of linear motion, which is used in many implementations. Abstract: The design of an X–Y table applying direct-drive linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) principle is proposed in this paper. The proposed X–Y table has the characteristics of low cost, simple and stable mechanical structure. After the design procedure is introduced, an adaptive position control method based on online parameter identification and pole-placement regulation scheme is developed for the X–Y table. Experimental results prove the feasibility and its priority over a traditional PID controller with better dynamic response, static performance and robustness to disturbances. In this study, the performance of longitudinal flux linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) using an extension in the aarchitecture of single-pulse controller is analysed. In proposed method, a controller is implemented and the duty cycle is used for two series converters. LSRM using extension method according to Matlab results has the smooth current profile. The smooth current increases the instantaneous driving force of LSRM. The peak value of the current decreases using the proposed method so the primary core of LSRM is saturated at higher load. The proposed method improves the speed characteristic of the motor, smooths the current profile and enhances the mechanical performance of LSRM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A novel stator geometry for a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) that improves the force profile is presented in this paper. In the new geometry, pole shoes are affixed on the stator poles. Static characteristics for the proposed structure have been highlighted using two dimensional (2-D) finite element analyses (FEA). A detailed sensitivity analysis of the effect of several geometrical parameters on the performance of the proposed LSRM is presented. Further, motor performance for variable load conditions is discussed. Day in, day out millions of people all around the world use public transportation systems. Within a metropolis, local rail transport is usually the only cheap and efficient way to get from one place to another. This is making new demands on the rail-bound mass transit. The door system needs to be robust, reliable, maintainable, safe and unaffected by the environment in order to guarantee an efficient train service. Because of round the clock operation of these trains, it is difficult to maintain the door systems regularly. They also get exposed to harsh environment like rain, sunlight and rough handling which may lead to malfunction. Safety is a very important constraint in any mass transit system and any malfunction in the door system can lead to severe mishap. Considering all the above constraints, we are proposing Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) based door systems for railway carriages. The phase independent nature of LSRM makes it the best choice for door systems application as it can be made to operate even if any phase fails to work. This paper presents a clear design guide for a longitudinal flux single sided LSRM. The design parameters have been verified using two dimensional finite element analysis (2D-FEA). In this paper, a non-linear controller for linear switched reluctance motors (LSRMs) is developed by utilizing their properties and the energy dissipation theory. As the electrical time constant is much smaller than the mechanical time constant, the whole LSRM driving system can be treated as a two-time-scale system. It is then decomposed into an electrical subsystem and a mechanical subsystem, which are interconnected by negative feedbacks. Controllers for these two subsystems are designed to guarantee that both systems are passive. Because a system consisting of two passive subsystems connected through negative feedbacks is still passive as a whole, stability of an LSRM driving system can be achieved at system level. The proposed control strategy is characterized by a simple structure and easy implementation. We have developed a transverse flux linear switched reluctance motor (TFLSRM) in which 12 primary-side poles, each composed of four sectors, boost efficiency over the whole operating range. Each sector can operate independently, enhancing the robustness of the system by providing fault tolerance. We present a standard design method for the machine based on a power output equation related to the machine dimensions, air gap, force, efficiency, operating velocity, and required voltage. We illustrate the procedure by designing a sector for a three-phase, 250 W prototype TFLSRM. The method uses finite-element analysis to calculate the flux density, thrust force, and normal force versus position and current prior to construction of the prototype. Trajectory control is an essential element in advanced manufacturing processes. For demanding direct-drive applications, a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) has become a potential candidate because of its low cost and simple structure. However, the inherent nonlinearities of the LSRM cause difficulties in its controller design. Recently, a few complicated control approaches and schemes have been proposed to overcome the non-linear characteristics, but they need precise modelling, and their algorithms are hard to realize. This article describes a simple and effective design of the feedback control for the trajectory control of the LSRM driving system, and some of its practical aspects. In the proposed control algorithm, the whole driving system is decomposed into two subsystems with different time scales by using the two-time scale analysis. On the basis of this method, the position controller and current controllers are designed for the two subsystems, respectively. In this way, the controller structure is simplified and the whole tracking system can be designed tractable. Furthermore, a modified proportional differential controller is proposed for tracking the sinusoid wave. Abstract: This paper presents the realization and design of a new linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) structure. The new model has double sided configuration and provides high force for many applications with low cost. The characteristics of the LSRM are obtained by using finite element analysis (FEA) and analytical calculations. The results of the FEA and analytical calculations are presented, and compared with experimental results. A high correlation between experimental and analytical results is obtained, which has been demonstrated in the form of inductance versus position versus current. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

In this letter, based on a structural decoupling design for the mover, a bearingless linear switched reluctance motor is proposed to simplify the levitation force control. This mover is designed to exhibit two decoupling features, one feature is that the levitation field and the armature field is decoupled by separating the levitation part and the armature part using the modular design with an E‐core structure. The other feature is the self‐inductance of the levitation module is decoupled from the mover position in the X‐direction by specially designed size of the levitation module. Based on this simple and decoupled mover structure, the levitation force can be controlled linearly by adjusting the magnitude of the levitation current without the information of the armature current and the mover position in the X‐direction, that is, the levitation current control is a simple scalar control, and the levitation force control and the thrust force control are structurally decoupled.
