Mate choice is one of the biggest psychological, social, and emotional changes in the life of every human being. This issue is associated with challenges and problems for people especially blind and visual impairment (VI) people. Although marriage leads to many changes and transformations in the life of blind and VI people, it is essential for meeting psychological, social, emotional, and sexual needs. Accordingly, this study aimed to analyze the psychosocial experiences of VI girls about the ideal husband and marriage. This qualitative study was conducted with a descriptive phenomenological approach. The data were collected through targeted interviews with 20 single girls with VI who were members of the White Cane Society of Tehran in 2021. The collected data were analyzed using Colaizzi's seven-step method. Four main themes were extracted from the participants' experiences, including "experience of love and freedom," "criteria for selecting an ideal spouse," "fear and worry about the marriage," and "stigma and strict public judgments." Following the findings of the study, it can be argued that paying attention to the experience of girls with VI can shed light on their criteria for mate choice and marriage and clarify their needs and demands. This perspective helps mental health professionals and rehabilitation counseling experts to meet their needs through social welfare planning and family awareness programs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This qualitative study used Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis to analyze single mothers' postpartum depression experiences. The study highlighted the problems participants faced as students and single mothers. Satellite campus students participated in the study. The researcher used purposive and snowball sampling to identify 15 teenage single mothers with one to three children. They weren't necessarily diagnosed or treated for PPD. Single mothers experience different postpartum depression symptoms. Insecurity, tearfulness, irritability, physical symptoms, self-blame, self-harm, unreasonableness, giving up, isolation, and suicidal ideations are symptoms experienced during postpartum depression. According to their stories, PPD symptoms could be a result of the abrupt changes in their life as new mothers. Emotion-focused coping, problem-focused coping, and religious coping were most commonly used by single mothers. Future research should investigate these coping methods. This study contributes a theoretical understanding of the postpartum depression experiences and coping mechanisms of single mothers.

The loss of direct experiences with nature among today's children is of concern as it affects their conservation willingness (CW). While little is known about the influence of live experiences on CW, much less is known about how these events are related. This study aimed to examine the serial mediating effects of biodiversity knowledge (BK) and affective attitudes (AA) on the relationship between live experiences with species and CW. An online questionnaire was administered to 429 school children (11- 12 years) in the Maldives. A two-serial mediation analysis revealed that live experiences exerted significant negative direct and positive indirect effects on CW. Thus, although a predictive sequential pathway from live experiences to BK to AA to CW was confirmed, partial mediation involving other mediators or moderators is likely. The direct effects of live experiences on BK and AA and of BK on AA suggest that experiential learning that stimulates AA is necessary to achieve overall positive impacts on CW. Therefore, educators and policymakers are critical in providing first-hand experiences to instill positive biodiversity conservation traits in children, enabling successful education for sustainable development and long-term biodiversity conservation. The compelled shift of pedagogy design in nursing education as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought some disparities and challenges in the program, more specifically to the students. The purpose of this study is to explore the lived experiences of nursing students with flexible learning. Using a qualitative phenomenological research design, a one-on-one interview via zoom has been utilized to understand the perception and views of six nursing students who qualified in the inclusion criteria set by the researchers. Specifically, it gives light on their views of flexible learning, the challenges they encountered, and their adaptation methods. The findings show that participants experienced difficulties and made huge adjustments in their routines and approaches to learning. The absence of clinical exposure and the gap in skills and related learning experience in nursing education is their most concerning aspect. However, even with all the gaps and limitations of flexible learning, it also offers unique advantages to them. Participants cited flexibility, self-paced learning, self-discipline, time management, convenience, and time for the family were their positive experiences. The result draws four thematic insights from the experiences of the participants: Sudden Shift of Learning Design is a Tough Change, Gap in the Practical Component of Nursing Education, Flexible Learning is Taking Shape, and Staying Positive with Creative Outlets. The study recommends that nursing institutions and organizations should look into the limitation of resources among nursing students and come up with programs and strategies that would address the gap of skills and practical components in nursing education. Acknowledgment of these limitations should make the nursing schools and administrators come up with some alternatives in the delivery of education as the students adjust to the new learning design.

Home care workers (HCWs) are a highly heterogeneous population in Italy in terms of their professional qualifications. HCWs play an important role in helping patients affected by chronic diseases and their families. Although many investigators have studied the lived experiences of family caregivers, few have been conducted "to give a voice" to HCWs and even fewer have examined the experiences of HCWs during the present COVID‐19 pandemic. We investigated the lived experiences of HCWs during the first wave of the pandemic in Italy. Cohen's phenomenological research approach was used to conduct this study. In our study, we enrolled and interviewed 19 HCWs who were female, and most were married, with an average age of 52 years. The participants were enrolled from September 2020 to November 2020, after the first COVID‐19 wave in Italy. Four main themes emerged from the analysis of the data: (1) "I found myself alone"; (2) from invisibility to visibility; (3) a fear of getting sick and infecting others; and (4) "Health or work? That is the question." Understanding HCWs' lived experiences, especially those related to the COVID‐19 pandemic, is a first step in giving a voice to this important but vulnerable population in the healthcare workforce. The purpose of this study was to describe the living experiences of 12th grade students of academic motivation. The research method was qualitative and data collection tool was interview. The study population was 12th grade students. The sampling was purposeful so that until the new information was no longer available, the sampling would end, so the sample consisted of 19 students who participated in a semi-structured interview. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed using the grounded theory method and the texts were analyzed by qualitative content analysis and the main categories of academic motivation were extracted. Thus, the factors affecting academic motivation were coded into three main categories, each with additional subcategories. The main categories obtained are: 1- Individual factors including sub-categories of goal-setting, energy, bright future, self-confidence, self-efficacy, success, interest and learning strategies; 2 family factors including parent support and encouragement; 3. Social factors including encouraging friends and peers, modeling who succeeded. In general, academic motivation is influenced by many factors such as the individual, family and community.

Vitiligo is a chronic acquired skin disease in which epidermal melanocytes disappear. The disease is manifested as areas of depigmentation. Reason for destruction of melanocytes is uncertain but potentially pathogenic mechanisms, include genetic, neurological, biochemical, viral and autoimmune mechanisms. 0.5 to 2 percent of the world's population are infected with the disease and statistics about Iran is equivalent to global statistics. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the participants' experiences with vitiligo regarding challenges of the future. It is a qualitative research with descriptive phenomenology approach. It was performed through semi-structured interview with 10 patients referring to dermatology clinic in Zabol and Zahedan hospitals using targeted sampling in 2015. Colaizzi method was used to analyze the data. The main themes describing experiences of people with vitiligo include: Permanent expectation for better treatment future, job prospects, hereditary disease, and forming a family. Results showed that some challenges threaten future of people with vitiligo and influence their life. Family and society are considered as main factors which influences future of people through culture making and increasing awareness. Also, psychiatrists, doctors and nurses should be aware of the patients' experience and attempt for greater understanding and try in raising the morale of patients and correction of body image and self-esteem and body care.
