In the era of the green revolution, the manufacturing sector faces intense pressure to adopt eco-friendly production practices, which can be achieved by implementing an ESG (environmental, social, governance) framework. ESG can enhance firms' performance and play an incredible role in promoting sustainable development practices. The current study conducts a bibliometric analysis to examine the ESG performance in the manufacturing sector to facilitate a green revolution. It extracted 314 documents from the Scopus and Web of Sciences databases from 1994 to 2023. The average age of the document is 34.78, and it was from 159 sources and involved 896 total authors. The study analyzed the prior literature and supporting theories, current conceptual development, and future research themes. The evolution process of ESG started in the 1960s and is still theoretically and empirically evolving to meet future challenges. Results show an increasing trend in ESG-related publications during the sample period. Journal of Cleaner Production is the primary source of publication, and China is the most prominent country in terms of correspondence and institutional affiliation. The continent-specific analysis indicates that almost 75% of the research was conducted in Asia and Europe. Four research themes were identified through co-occurrence analysis: (1) framework for social, financial, and environmental performance, (2) sustainable models for innovative environmental investment, (3) manufacturing practices and governance issues, and (4) application for eco-friendly production and economic growth. The findings suggest that the manufacturing sector can lead toward a more sustainable and equitable future through a steadfast commitment to ESG performance that can lead to a global green revolution. The purpose of the study is to investigate the effects of corporate earnings and dividend payments on the stock price behaviour of manufacturing firms in Nigeria between 2013 and 2022. The study adopted an ex-post facto research design, and deployed Generalised Method of Moments (sys-GMM) and Granger causality tests for the data analysis. The two-step system GMM is used to control for omitted variables such as bias, unobserved panel heterogeneity or heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation within panels or groups, endogeneity issues, and measurement errors in the data. Findings show that share price (SP) and its predictors yield valuable insights into the factors influencing stock valuation. Dividend per share (DPS) emerges as a significant positive predictor, suggesting a notable impact on share price. Firm size (FSZ) proves to be a statistically significant predictor, indicating that the size of a firm plays a role in influencing stock prices, with larger firms associated with a decrease in share price. Conversely, Earnings per Share (EPS) and Dividend Yield (DY3) do not exhibit statistical significance, suggesting limited predictive power in the model. By way of conclusion, the study provides an understanding of the factors influencing share price behavior within the Nigerian manufacturing sector and the positive impact of past performance, particularly lagged share prices, confirming the persistence of stock market trends. The practical implications of this study are that it underscores the understanding of financial dynamics in emerging economies, particularly in the context of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The devastating impact of COVID-19 on businesses has led to the redefinition of workforce resilience. This study hence explores workforce resilience factors that will be important in the post-COVID-19 era. It investigates whether these factors perform differently in the manufacturing vs. the service sector and in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) vs. large firms. Sixty-five firms were studied in Malaysia and analyzed through Rasch modelling. The results indicate that three workforce resilience factors (positive thinking, sense of responsibility, and emotional control) are difficult to overcome in the manufacturing sector. Regarding the SMEs and large firm contexts, six workforce resilience factors (positive thinking, differentiation, degree of involvement, sense of responsibility, cognitive processes, and innovation) are complicated for SMEs. In comparison, two workforce resilience factors (work–life balance and decision-making) are difficult for large firms. Capitalizing on these findings, managers in various organizations (manufacturing vs. service and SMEs vs. large firms) can adopt different strategies to leverage workforce resilience post-COVID. Purpose: We aim to analyze the capital structure heterogeneity for manufacturing and service sector firms. Additionally, we analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the leverage adjustments of corporate firms. Design/methodology/approach: This study applies the two-step system generalized method of moments (system-GMM) and panel data of 1,115 manufacturing and 482 service sector firms listed with the Bombay Stock Exchange (S&P BSE) from 2010 to 2023. We developed and analyzed three models. Model 1 analyzes the leverage determinants and speed of adjustment (SOA) for the manufacturing and service sectors. Model 2 evaluates the leverage SOA for various sub-sectors, and Model 3 analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the leverage SOA. Findings: This study suggests the three following. First, the direction of leverage determinants suggests that manufacturing firms are highly tangible. In contrast, service sector firms are high-growth firms and recorded a higher SOA (12.01%) than manufacturing (9.09%). Second, analyzing the leverage heterogeneity, we found that SOA varies across the sub-sectors. For manufacturing, food and beverage sub-sector recorded the highest SOA (12.58%), while consumer durables reported the lowest (6.38%). Communication recorded the highest (24.15%) for services, while industrial services recorded the lowest (11.18%). Third, firms across sectors and sub-sectors increased their SOA during COVID-19 pandemic. Research limitations/implications: This in-depth analysis of leverage heterogeneity for different sectors and subsectors will assist policymakers, corporate managers and other stakeholders in making agile financial decisions. This study aims to evaluate the effect of legal policy implementation on the financial performance of companies in the manufacturing sector using a quantitative research design with case studies. The population in this study are manufacturing companies in Indonesia. Sample selection using purposive sampling. The data used are primary data and secondary data by distributing questionnaires using the ANOVA test. The results showed a significant difference in the company's financial performance between the period before and after the implementation of the legal policy, with a p-value of 0.032 (p<0.05). This shows that legal policy has a real impact on the financial performance of companies in the manufacturing sector so that a stable legal framework is needed to encourage optimal financial performance. In this research, the primary goal was to investigate the relationship between strategic planning and organizational performance in Iraq's manufacturing context. This study's primary data sources were 360 manager respondents. A structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data from manufacturing firms located throughout Iraq. To analyze the results, the researchers used descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. SPSS version 16 software was used to conduct data analysis. The results reveal that the process of strategic planning has a beneficial effect on financial performance. Environmental scanning has a statistically significant positive effect on a company's nonfinancial performance. Management participation and planning formality positively and statistically significantly affect a business's nonfinancial performance at the 10 percent level. There is a growing emphasis on fostering green growth and lowering carbon emissions in order to achieve sustainable economic development. This study uses the Tapio decoupling model and analyzes the factors influencing changes in carbon emissions from manufacturing in India utilizing the log mean Divisia index (LMDI) techniques. Furthermore, the nexus between carbon emission intensity, information and communication technology (ICT), total factor productivity (TFP), skill, and energy intensity has been analyzed using the system-GMM approach. It is based on the plant-level Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) datasets for the organized manufacturing sector of India from 2001 to 2002 to 2019 2020 for the major 21 Indian states/UT. The findings reflect the presence of weak decoupling in the manufacturing sector both at the aggregate level and in states. This indicates that both output and emissions are increasing; however, output growth surpasses emission growth, which signifies an effort to transition towards more environmentally friendly production methods and enhanced energy efficiency. The output and population effect are found to be leading factors in carbon emissions, while energy intensity is found to be reducing the effect. Further, the system-GMM estimates show that ICT and energy intensity positively affect total factor productivity, while with an increase in carbon emission intensity, productivity declines. The study confirms the existence of an inverted N-shaped Kuznets curve in the sector. This present study will contribute to formulating energy and environmental strategies to reduce emissions and promote adopting cleaner energy sources. In today's environmentally conscious marketplace, achieving business sustainability is paramount for manufacturing firms. This pressure is particularly acute in developing nations like Pakistan, where balancing economic growth with environmental responsibility presents unique challenges. Hence this study delves into the critical relationship between green intellectual capital (GIC) and business sustainability in Pakistan's manufacturing sector. The researcher also examined the mediating effects of green innovation, value creation, and resource efficiency on this association. Employing a survey instrument, data is collected from large scale manufacturing firms located in three different industrial cities of Pakistan through convenient sampling. Smart PLS SEM was used to explore the hypothesized relationships and the mechanisms through which GIC impacts business sustainability via mediating variables. The results confirmed all hypotheses as statistically significant. The first hypothesis showed a positive and significant relationship between GIC and business sustainability (β = 0.101, p < 0.05). The second hypothesis demonstrated that value creation effectively mediates the relationship between GIC and business sustainability (β = 0.191, p < 0.05). The third and fourth hypothesis found that green innovation and Resource efficiency both significantly mediates between green intellectual capital and business sustainability with (B=0.183, p<0.05) and (B=0.120, p<0.05) respectively. Hence all the hypotheses were supported. These findings hold significant implications for Pakistani manufacturing firms, offering valuable insights into strengthening their environmental practices and achieving long-term sustainability. However, the applicability of these findings to other sectors or countries may require further investigation. In this paper, we aim to analyze the behavior of developed-country acquiring firms in dealing with Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions location choices at both national and sub-national levels with the impact of carbon risk and heterogeneous environmental regulations (Government, Civil, and Market Environmental regulations) and to explore their Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions performances under different situations. A sample of 874 intra-manufacturing Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions completed by developed-country acquirers and conducted in developed countries and China during 2002–2021 was analyzed using logistic regression and multiple linear regression. The results show that: (1) Acquirers with higher carbon risks tend to choose China rather developed country as the target location, while this relationship is not strengthened by the home country's high-level environmental regulations; (2) At the sub-national level, Chinese provinces' government environmental regulations cannot impede acquirers to enter; what's more, the civil environmental regulations even attract these acquirers, this is particularly the case if the acquirer has high carbon risk; (3) Acquirers with higher carbon risks can achieve more performance, no matter whether they choose China as the target country. Our findings add insight into the effect of carbon risks on companies' decisions and the unique characteristics of the heterogeneous environmental regulations in China. What's more, implications are provided for Chinese regulators and policymakers, e.g., listening to the public opinion, improving the governance quality, and attracting foreign investors to help domestic industry upgrading and maintain long-run economic growth. In this paper, a systematic review of the literature was carried out in order to identify the contributions of frugal innovation in the manufacturing sector. The above, with the objective of knowing these innovations, highlighting the relevance and its contribution to this sector within the global emerging markets. The PRISMA method was used to perform meta-analysis of the theoretical, scientific and practical contributions of goods and services resulting from the frugal philosophy in the emerging manufacturing sector. To achieve the objectives of this research, three indexed databases of high scientific quality and visibility were considered: Scopus, Ebscohost and Science Direct in the period 2010-2020, with a search equation defined by keywords and exclusion and inclusion criteria, in which a first search of 15079 articles was obtained. As a result of the final filtering process, 52 documents were obtained that allowed the identification of these innovations, their classification, description, frugal, social and economic contribution in the benefited communities. This paper provides relevant findings related to the contribution of future perspectives of similar studies and empirical evidence of frugal operational processes (products) that drive the competitiveness of manufacturing firms.

This study was motivated by Zimbabwe’s unstable economic environment because of hyperinflation and the effects that it has had and is still having on the economic sector’s operations, specifically the manufacturing sector. The purpose of the study was to identify the capital budgeting techniques that are most effective in a hyperinflationary environment. The study adopted a mixed research methodology. The sample size for the research was 34 staff members at NFHL from the finance and accounting department and probability sampling was used. Questionnaires and interviews were used as the research instruments. According to the financial data analysed for the prior financial periods, the company has a strong liquidity and strong profitability but however, knowledge of the macroenvironment is not being adequately put at the disposal of the employees at the entity. The researchers recommends that the finance staff at HNFHL must have in-depth knowledge of the basic elements in capital budgeting and establish a well-defined feedback system to ensure the effectiveness of capital budgeting system in a hyperinflationary environment.

The purpose of the research presented in the article is to study the impact of the institutional environment on the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Ethiopian manufacturing sector. The study uses time series data from 1992 to 2021. using an autoregressive approach. The results show that the development of a right-wing society, along with political stability and a reduction in crime, are two factors of the institutional environment that have a positive and significant impact on the inflow of FDI into the manufacturing sector in the long term. However, the effectiveness of the government had a negative effect. In the short term, the rule of law, control over corruption and the quality of regulation have become factors in the institutional environment that have significantly influenced FDI inflows into the Ethiopian manufacturing sector. The study shows that an enabling institutional environment increases FDI inflows into Ethiopia’s manufacturing sector in both the long and short term. Therefore, it is extremely important for Ethiopia to improve the efficiency of public institutions and strengthen the domestic legal framework and legislation. This will help reduce political instability and promote greater accountability and transparency among government officials, thereby attracting more foreign direct investment from developed and developing countries. Moreover, due to its strategically preferred location in the Horn of Africa and the huge number of available and trained workforce, as well as the improvement of the institutional environment suitable for business, Ethiopia is very attractive as an investment destination.

This study examines green performance (GP) through green human resource management (green HRM) practices and green capability (GC) in Saudi Arabia’s manufacturing sector. This study employed a quantitative method with a survey strategy that utilized a questionnaire. In total, the study used 396 valid cases collected from middle‑ and top‑level management employees. Using the structural equation model (SEM), the findings suggest that green HRM practices, such as green skill development (GSD), green motivation (GM), green involvement (GI), and green empowerment (GE), exert a significant positive effect on GC and GP. On the other hand, GC emerged as a non‑significant positive predictor of GP. Furthermore, GC is a significant mediator that develops a positive association between green HRM practice factors, such as GSD, GM, GI, and GP. By contrast, GC did not mediate the association between GE and GP. The findings of this study provide novel insights into the building blocks that underline the robust relationship between green HRM, GC, and GP. Moreover, this study would be helpful for policymakers to boost a greener environment to bring sustainability and GP in an emerging economy.

Purpose This study aims to explore the interplay between organizational culture, available resources, change management competency, and employee attitudes towards digital transformation readiness in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector. It seeks to address a research gap by providing empirical evidence and theoretical insights into the specific readiness for digital transformation within this context.Design/methodology/approach A mixed-methods design was employed to collect and analyze data, offering a comprehensive view of digital transformation readiness. The quantitative phase involved a structured survey distributed to 357 participants from the manufacturing sector, while the qualitative phase consisted of semi-structured interviews with 20 key informants from selected manufacturing companies. This approach facilitated the exploration of dynamic capabilities, resource availability, change management competencies, and the influence of organizational culture and employee attitudes on digital transformation readiness.Findings The findings indicate that organizational culture, resource availability, change management capabilities, and employee attitudes towards innovation and change significantly impact an organization’s readiness for digital transformation. The study underscores the critical role of effective change management and the positive influence of a supportive organizational culture and employee attitudes in enhancing digital transformation efforts which will aid sustainable growth in organizations.Originality/value This research contributes significantly to the digital transformation literature by analyzing factors affecting digital readiness within the Malaysian manufacturing sector, an area previously underexplored. Integrating Dynamic Capabilities Theory, the Resource-Based View, and Change Management Theories, and using a mixed-methods approach, the study offers valuable insights for industry leaders, managers, and policymakers on effectively driving digital transformation. It highlights the importance of resource allocation, supportive organizational culture, and effective change management practices, addressing a critical gap in existing research.

Industrial policy can play a role in India's elusive quest for jobs, particularly "good jobs," and technology upgrading as it seeks to traverse the first stage of industrialization driven by abundant cheap labor and high investment rates, to reach the second stage which requires higher productivity levels and a capacity to innovate. There are lessons to be learned from the past in the success stories of Asian industrialization—including some from India itself. Yet, the past may not be the perfect recipe for the future given a changing global landscape characterized by increasing industrial automation, rising concerns about market access, and the increasing interdependence between the manufacturing and services sectors. Going forward, the role of policy coordination in improving the effectiveness of industrial policy to spur India's industrialization will take center-stage. New policy directions that leverage possibilities of technological leapfrogging—including through the services sector—as well as the synergies between manufacturing and services will be equally important. In developing countries' manufacturing, the prevalence of small firms poses a conundrum, as few successfully transition to larger categories. Scholarly attention to the reasons behind this limited upward mobility remains scarce. This study, focusing on Indian manufacturing, explores the role of limited financial access as a significant obstacle hindering small firms' transition. Analysing data spanning 2001–2016, encompassing both formal and informal firms, we find robust evidence that access to finance is crucial for small firm transition in Indian manufacturing. This paper studies the effects of privatization on establishments/plants operating in Finland's manufacturing sector during 1988-2012, concentrating on operational efficiency (sales/ employment). Finland's privatizations allow considering a quasi-experimental design. Therefore, the paper utilizes standard and generalized event-study designs using a control group matched from similar private establishments. Additionally to the event where state ownership drops below 50 percent, the paper studies whether any reductions in state share affect productivity. The results suggest that privatization increases productivity due to a decrease in employment. • Privatization seems to have increased the productivity of manufacturing establishments in Finland. • The generalized event study approach suggests that clear reductions in state share raise productivity. • Productivity seems to rise because employment has decreased after privatization. In view of the commonly acknowledged positive contribution of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on the capital account of Balance of Payments (BoP) of India since 1991 under liberalization wave, the current account impact of FDI has received far less policy attention. However, through high foreign exchange outflows via imports and other expenses coupled with limited exports, FDI invested firms (firms having inward foreign direct investment) may have substantially contributed to the current account deficit in India over post-reform phase marked by substantive trade liberalization initiatives. The study evaluates net current account impact of FDI in India by reviewing various current account transactions of Multinational Corporations (MNC) affiliated manufacturing FDI invested firms from official data sources like RBI and direct firm level trade data from the company’s annual financial disclosures for some recent years. FDI invested MNC affiliates in manufacturing, at an aggregate level, were found to be associated with net foreign exchange outflows on current and trade accounts in various post-reform years. In the firm level study covering two years, this adverse pattern was noted for a majority of total firms, and also for a majority of firms in nearly each industrial sub-groups. Substantially rising net foreign exchange expenses were observed for a consistent set of select manufacturing FDI invested firms over a longer phase in the post-reform period. Apparently, FDI may not be a sustainable tool to manage current account challenges in a developing country like India unless policy caution is applied while engaging further with FDI inflows. This study was conducted to explore barriers to ABC adoption in the Tanzanian manufacturing and service sectors, notwithstanding its superiority over the traditional costing system. It went further to suggest solutions to such barriers by evaluating the mediating role of behavioral preferences on the causal relationship between the innovation attributes composite and ABC adoption. Based on the cross-sectional survey design, primary data were collected from a sample of 188 companies located in the Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Dodoma regions. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) revealed that none of the behavioral preferences positively mediated the causal relationship between the innovation attributes composite and ABC adoption at level 1. At level 2, the findings show that, it was the mediating effect by the perceived usefulness (p = 0. 0 0 1 ,  β = 0. 2 3 8) only that was statistically significant. With the exception of the perceived ease of use, the mediating effects by perceived usefulness (p = 0. 0 0 9 ,  β = 0. 0 1 8) and normative beliefs (p = 0. 0 4 5 ,  β = 0. 0 1 6) were further confirmed to be statistically significant at level 3 of adoption. Moreover, the mediating effects by the perceived ease of use (p = 0. 0 3 9 ,  β = 0. 1 2 3) and normative beliefs (p = 0. 0 0 5 ,  β = 0. 1 1 5) were found to be statistically significant at level 4 of adoption. At the highest level 5 of ABC adoption, it was the normative belief (p < 0. 0 0 1 ,  β = 0. 2 2 1) only that positively mediated the causal relationship between the innovation attributes composite and ABC adoption. Manufacturing is considered to be the backbone of social and economic development worldwide. The issue of energy inflation has become a major macroeconomic concern for many sectors, including manufacturing. This study examines Pakistan's manufacturing sector specifically to determine how second-round energy inflation affects its operations. Further, the study aims to determine the impact of macroeconomic indicators on manufacturing value-added (MVA) including inflation reverts. In this study, manufacturing value-added is used as a dependent indicator, while energy inflation (EI), core inflation (CI), political instability (PI), real interest rate (RIR), and financial development (FD) are independent indicators for the period 1991 to 2020. This study uses the gap model for capturing the variation or second round in inflation and the autoregressive distributive lagged model for individual long-run_ and short-run impacts on manufacturing value-added growth. Based on the gap model, results show the huge presence of second-round effects of energy inflation in Pakistan. ARDL results show that energy inflation, core inflation, financial development, and political instability all affect manufacturing value-added significantly excluding real interest rates. This research also helps the Pak government to promote energy efficiency and adoption of energy-saving technologies in the manufacturing sector. This paper examines whether local human capital spillovers can affect plant productivity in three Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries using panel data from the World Bank enterprise survey between 2009 and 2015. According to the literature, spillovers in the form of human capital are critical for economic growth. The spillovers exist if plants can produce more in the region with the abundant number of skilled workers given their inputs. This study uses the augmented Cobb-Douglas production function to evaluate the influence of the non-production worker proportion outside the plant which serves as a proxy for skilled workers. The findings indicate that plant production is impacted by spillovers of human capital. This study finds that a 1 percentage point increase in the proportion of nonproduction workers within a region will enhance the productivity of plants in all regions by roughly 7.1-8.9 percent. Moreover, productivity rises are found to be higher for low-tech plants. According to the economic significance of these spillover effects, the value-added per plant will rise by US$ 330,000 or US$ 866.75 million for the manufacturing sector as a whole. The purpose of the article is to uncover the relationship between related variety in technology-intensive industries in the manufacturing sector and the region-specific context of Slovakia. The authors employed a dynamic panel model covering the 2009–2019 period. The aim was to determine the extent to which the regional context influences the benefits of related variety on regional economic performance. To understand the deeper structures and mechanisms of related variety, it was divided according to the technology-intensive industries. The results indicate that only unrelated variety positively determines regional employment growth. However, in combination with regional context, even the related variety mechanism becomes significant. When the related variety was decomposed, it was found that only the related variety in low-tech industries supported regional employment growth. By contrast, the industrial specialization in high-tech industries had a significant impact on the regional employment growth. When contextual conditions were taken into consideration, the effects of industrial specialization (low value of related variety) in high-tech industries disappeared. The authors conclude that contextual conditions, particularly foreign direct investment, are strong predictors for explaining regional employment growth, as they have the potential to shape the effects of related variety mechanism. This present research is an effort to link market concentration with market performance measured through total factor productivity (TFP). Using regression analysis for a cross-section of industries in India, we determine the market concentration in selected agri-based and hi-tech sectors and analyse its effect on TFP. Earlier international literature on a linkage between market structure and market performance has mixed results. Some researchers support that high market concentration results in high productivity, while other researchers provide evidence that the above relation is not true. To examine this in detail, this paper investigates the impact of market concentration on TFP, and then makes a comparative analysis of selected agri-based (food products #10: and tobacco and tobacco products #12) and hi-tech sectors (motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers #29; chemicals & chemical products #20); in India, with the data covering the period 2006–2017. Strategic risk management impacts organizations' competitive advantage; it is an opportunity for growth, anticipation, and sustainability. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are significantly exposed to these risks and are a fundamental part of the current business fabric. This research aims to analyze the management of strategic risks for the sustainability of SMEs in the manufacturing sector in Antioquia. A qualitative methodology was used for the development, and ten semi-structured interviews were conducted with managers of the selected SMEs. The results show that strategic risk management contributes to the sustainability of SMEs across economic, social, and environmental pillars. The strategic risks most frequently mentioned as priorities for sustainability include long-term risks associated with strategy formulation and definition, as well as the value proposition. Additionally, the risk of human talent management, which is present in all analyzed organizations, was highlighted. Based on the research, interested organizations can be recommended to implement processes and practices associated with strategic risk management for sustainability. The research presents a significant novelty by specifically addressing the management of strategic risks for the sustainability of SMEs in the manufacturing sector. Unlike previous research, our study focuses on the specific risk management practices of SMEs in this geographical context, adding an important regional and sectoral dimension to the field of study. The One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative by the Government of Ghana, designed to boost manufacturing across all districts, has the potential to achieve substantial growth in the sector through the strategic use of R&D to enhance labour productivity. The existing empirical literature falls short in exploring the role of R&D in influencing innovation and ultimately labour productivity within the manufacturing sector of Ghana as well as other developing economies with similar characteristics. This study addresses this gap by examining the role of R&D on labour productivity in the manufacturing sector using a structural equation model encompassing R&D, innovation, and labour productivity. Data was sourced from the World Bank Enterprise Survey (WBES) involving 209 firms in Ghana. The study employs Three-Stage Least Squares (3SLS) method with its capacity to mitigate issues related to endogeneity and simultaneity bias in simultaneous equations in contrast to other econometric techniques. The 3SLS method was used to examine the effect of R&D on innovation and labour productivity in the manufacturing sector of Ghana. The results highlight the multifaceted determinants of labour productivity in Ghana's manufacturing sector, emphasizing the positive impact of R&D. R&D also significantly influence both product and process innovation. These findings are useful for the development of human capital in Ghana. Thus, the study recommends the integration of R&D into Ghana's national development strategy toward improvement in human capital to create a conducive environment for local manufacturing firms and the 1D1F initiative, to actively engage in R&D to enhance labour productivity.
