Abstract Seasonal variability could have an impact on the incidence and outcome of stroke. However, little is known about the correlation between seasonal variability and location of acute cerebral infarction. This study aimed to explore the relationship between onset season and the lesions distribution of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). We retrospectively analysis data from 1488 AIS patients admitted to the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from 2018 to 2022. All subjects completed head magnetic resonance imaging examination (MRI) and were divided into four groups according to the onset seasons. The lesions distribution of AIS was evaluated for anterior/posterior/double circulation infarction (DCI), unilateral/bilateral infarctions, and single/multiple cerebral infarctions based on MRI. Logistic regression models were employed to assess the association of season with lesions distribution of AIS. Subgroup analysis was performed in different stroke subtypes. Of 1488 patients, 387 (26.0%) AIS occurred in spring, 425 (28.6%) in summer, 331 (22.2%) in autumn and 345 (23.2%) in winter. Multivariate logistic regression demonstrated that the winter group had 2.15 times (95% CI:1.44–3.21) risk of multiple infarctions, 2.69 times (95% CI:1.80–4.02) of bilateral infarctions and 1.54 times (95% CI:1.05–2.26) of DCI compared with summer group, respectively. Improving the geo-hazard meteorological risk warning capabilities is an important component of the comprehensive prevention system for geological disasters. Since 2003, Sichuan Province has been carrying out geo-hazard meteorological risk warning work. Building on the previous foundation, research has been focused on the analysis and establishment of warning models, system design and implementation, and graded warning operation modes since 2019. A geo-hazard warning model library, an integrated geological disaster meteorological risk warning interconnection system at the provincial, municipal, and county levels, and a graded warning mechanism have been created. We have achieved closed-loop management of interconnection and graded early warning based on integrated platform such as rainfall data transmission, early warning model analysis and calculation, and early warning information release in province, cities, and counties. This has solved the three problems of lack of technology, capacity, and funding in cities and counties, as well as the interference caused by multiple early warning information releases on grassroots levels. In 2023, 86% of the successful risk avoidance cases in Sichuan Province were affected by meteorological risk warning, effectively reducing casualties and property losses caused by geo-hazard.

As more and more people participate in extreme off-road events and wilderness leisure activities, the risk of accidental hypothermia is gradually exposed to people, and the insufficiency of risk evaluation indicators and early warning service system should be improved urgently. Aiming at the risk of accidental hypothermia caused by wildness cold exposure, the disaster causing factors, exposure, physical vulnerability and protection ability factors of accidental hypothermia caused by wildness cold exposure were comprehensively analyzed, and the meteorological risk early warning index of accidental hypothermia was proposed and the model was constructed. On this basis, in view of the lack of fixed meteorological observation stations, the service system was designed and implemented. The most advanced porTable automatic meteorological observation equipment was used to collect relevant meteorological element data. By integrating the Beidou satellite communication function, the system can transmit data to the data center and generate early warning and decision-making service information according to the model and then send it back to the on-site service personnel. The system is helpful in solving the problem that the risk of wildness accidental hypothermia activities caused by sudden meteorological conditions that cannot be warned in time and handled properly, which has good practical application and development prospects.
