The removal of oncology drug wastewater containing Methotraxate (MTX), Iohexol (IOX) and Capacitabine (CPC) by electrooxidation was studied in this study. Anodic oxidation was provided by using mixed metal oxide (MMO) (Ti/IrO2-Ru, Ti/Ru, Ti/IrO2-Ru (EC 300)) and boron doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. In the case of electrooxidation with KMO electrodes, the removal efficiencies of MTX, CPC and IOX were obtained as 56.8%, 35.4% and 52.0%, respectively. On the other hand, the removal efficiencies were 86.1%, 99.0% and 53.4% for MTX, CPC and IOX with the usage of BDD electrode, respectively. Boron doped diamond electrode with its higher overpotential achieved more removal efficiency than MMO electrodes in electrooxidation process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
