Analyzing the musical production of national rock relative to the 2013 demonstrations is the intent of the article, that seeks to illuminate the link between music and politics. The popular song is thought of as an artistic language that produces and conveys social representations, which not only mirrors reality, but also constructs it. We examine 8 songs - and their respective video clips - produced by bands of the 1980s generation about the events of june 2013 - that focus on participation and the refusal of authoritarianism, nurturing, in the end, the democratic imaginary in the country. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the understanding of Brazilian society in the present time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

During the last military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983) Argentine national rock grew to cover a space –previously owned by Anglo rock– it still maintains. This sudden growth was directly linked to the way censorship operated and to a military discourse based on a fight against a supposed ‘enemy’. Interestingly, the first enemy created by the military Junta was the ‘youth’ who, because of their addiction to rock music –they said– would become subversive. Therefore, rock was affected by censorship. However, when the military regime declared war against England in 1982, there was a new external enemy to fight against. The military authorities understood that they needed the support of the youth, who were now displaced to a different role: they were called to collaborate with the regime. They were given public spaces to perform their music so as to persuade the general public, through their songs, to support the war. Though the regime seemed to be aware of the important social and political function of music they failed to count on the fact that the young rockers would use that same space as an opportunity to resist, dissent and express their solidarity towards their fellow English rockers and citizens.

In this article, we try to demonstrate that a series of songs published in 1969 are the basis of what we call the code, or the muse, beat, a mythology that journalists would call from the following year «rock national». This mythology has survived until today. It consists, in our opinion, on two classic genres, the exhortation and exemplum, away from two neighbouring musical expressions: political protest song and romantic love song.

7. El rol del cuerpo-vestido en la ruptura estética de Virus durante los últimos años de la dictadura militar.

- Abstract
The text is based on the hypothesis that the proposal of the Argentine rock group Virus can be understood as part of a micro-political bet/response of resistance and confrontation arising from the end of the dictatorship, which aimed to restore the social bond broken by terror, from relational and festive aesthetic programs. These new political-aesthetics materialized in works, productions, concerts, shows and cultural spaces that were forming an underground plot that grew with the arrival of democracy. In this context, we want to retrieve the proposal of Virus not as something isolated or unique in the world of rock, but in relation to all this process of renewal and creative combustion, in which the body took a central place. For this, the article focuses specifically in the innovative dress practices of Virus and in the role played by the body, whether as a support of artistic actions, as a vehicle for meeting with the others, such as territory of political indiscipline or as "pleasure surface". In order to understand the role that Federico Moura played and what he meant -beyond his music- in the local Argentinean music- in the Argentine local scene since 1981, when he started with his band Virus, it is important to contextualize him in a certain time and space from Virus, it is important to contextualize him in a certain time and space based on research works that preceded research works that precede this one and books that will add a contribution to the reflection of the discursive act of the reflection of the artist's discursive act. What was happening with Virus -but above all with Federico Moura - had to do with his appearance and poise on stage. Many considered it inappropriate that a "rocker" allowed himself to wear colors and dance while the streets continued to be militarized., Facultad de Periodismo y Comunicación Social
