На примере клинического случая синдрома длительно сдавления (СДС) показано, что при СДС, гипербарическая оксигенация (ГБО) на первых этапах ее применения приводит к более быстрой дифференцировке жизнеспо-собных и нежизнеспособных тканей и отторжению последних, сокращает сроки дегенеративновоспалительного периода, а также, при благоприятном течении процесса способна в первые 2 суток перевести рану в фазу регенерации. А в дальнейшем, ежедневное использование ГБО под давлением 1-2 атм в течении 45-60 минут уже в постоперационном периоде уменьшает отек в зоне операции, снижает интенсивность воспалительного процесса, способствует более быстрой и полноценной регенерации пораженных мягких тканей и приводит к значительному ускорению заживления ран с образованием нежного рубца.

The study was conducted to analyse the rainfall pattern of dry farming zones of Southern Karnataka to arrive at proper date of sowing by considering parameters like threshold rainfall (20 mm), threshold dry day (2.5 mm) and threshold dry spell period (10 days) as a main defining parameters for decision making in sowing of major crops (finger millet, pigeonpea, groundnut, etc.). In all the three zones, the agro-climatic onset of cropping season was earlier as compared to meteorological onset (June 1st week) due to bimodal distribution of rainfall having its peaks in May and September month. In Central Dry Zone, Southern Dry Zone and Eastern Dry Zone, fourteenth June, thirteenth June and twentythird May were the agro-climatic onset dates (average of all stations in each zone), respectively. Station wise analysis of the rainfall revealed different agro-climatic onset dates. Ninth May in central dry zone, eighth May in eastern dry zone and fifth May in southern dry zone were the earliest onset dates. These variations in between zonal and station specific onset dates were due to spatio-temporal variations in rainfall. Therefore, advancements in sowing of crops based on the agro-climatic onset should be taken into account for betterment of crop production.

In this work, the synthesis of some heterocyclic compound of four, five and seven membered rings were done. On oxidation of the pinacole alcohol using concentrated sulphuric acid pinacolone were obtained and used as a precursor for the synthesis of three new Schiffs base through the reaction with para substituted anilines compounds. These imines were allowed to react with chloroacetyl chloride in dry dioxane to give the azetadine -2- one compounds. Also some thiazoldinone compounds were synthesized from the reaction of the corresponding imines with thioglycolic acid in the presence of zinc chloride in dry benzene and 1,3-oxazepine-4,7-diones, were obtained from the reaction of imines with maleic and phythalic anhydries in dry benzene. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR spectroscopy and physical paramrters.

The abrasive blasting activities in shipyard produce very fine airborne dust in large volume, which is commonly known as abrasive blasting waste (ABW). ABW is a major concern in solid waste management. This ABW contains high concentration of hazardous pollutants such as antifouling paint and heavy metals. These pollutants cause adverse effect to the human health and environment especially the marine organisms. Currently, the available sanitary landfills are reaching the maximum capacity which could not withhold the increasing waste production. Further, there is a lack of information regarding solidification and stabilization (SS) treatment towards ABW in Malaysia. In this research, using Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) as binder and ABW as filler, attempt has been made to produce stabilized blocks. The variables include water to cement (W/C) of 0.4, 0.45 and 0.5 and cement to ABW (C/AB) ratio of 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0. In this paper, strength development of stabilized blocks is discussed. These blocks could be used as potential building material such as paving block, brick and filler material.
