EMPLOYEE attitudes ,ORGANIZATIONAL learning ,PUBLIC opinion ,EMPLOYEE empowerment ,ATTITUDE change (Psychology) - Abstract
The article discusses the results of the research carried out in theatres in the Silesian Region of Poland among the technical and administrative staff. The research concerned a crisis situation of director change, often a turning point in the life of each theatre. We examined the employees' attitudes, emotions, and opinions associated with the change. We selected teams that were lower in the theatre hierarchy than the artistic team. It turned out that, contrary to popular opinion, the change in the directorial seat has a certain impact on these employees, who are extremely aware of the processes taking place in the organization. The empowerment of theatre employees postulated in discussions about culture coincides with the results of our research. It creates an opportunity for the traditionallymanaged theatres to transform themselves into so-called learning organizations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

W literaturze przedmiotu brak jest analiz dotyczących istotnych różnic w zarządzaniu zasobami wiedzy w działalności logistycznej pomiędzy dużymi firmami a małymi i średnimi przedsiębiorstwami.

Wiedza stanowi bowiem swoistą „dźwignię” rozwoju organizacji i źródło jej szeroko rozumianego potencjału. Działając w skali globalnej i stosując strategię dywersyfikacji poziomej, odnotowuje ona szereg zróżnicowanych czynników, jakie determinują jej funkcjonowanie. Można przyjąć nawet, że McDonald’s działa w swoistej „sieci” czynników ryzyka (tj. czynników szans/korzyści i czynników zagrożeń/strat). Firma ta wykorzystuje kryterium ryzyka do kreowania swojego potencjału, stosując m.in. zintegrowane podejście do zarządzania ryzykiem (bazujące na podejściu systemowym) oraz strategię ekspansji międzynarodowej, tj. uwzględniając zróżnicowanie poszczególnych rynków (a więc i czynników ryzyka) i dostosowując się do ich potrzeb, wymagań i możliwości – co z kolei jest przejawem elastyczności i adaptacyjności.

Background. Management theories are products of their environment. Thus, the social, political, economic and technological forces present in a given time and locale create demand for a given theory and shape it. Research aims. In this perspective paper the authors present how learning has evolved in management theories over the years and how challenges imposed by Industry 4.0 may impact the concepts of learning. Second, they portray Industry 4.0 and the current stage of implementation of its ideas. Then, they indicate the macro-environmental and workforce challenges produced by Industry 4.0. Finally, they attempt to look at the role of learning in Industry 4.0 and whether there is a need for a new theory concerning learning for the fourth industrial revolution. Key findings. - Abstract
The functioning of modern healthcare organization is determined by the increasing demands of the beneficiaries of health services, budgetary constraints and the need for political consensus. These problems generate increased spending on public health needs and force policy makers to seek effective management instruments. Pro-efficiency solutions for public sector lead healthcare managers to build flexible strategies which mean the necessity of preparation and often redefining the strategic goals and ways to achieve them as a response for stakeholder's needs. That makes knowledge and learning process about stakeholders an important part of a new public management paradigm. This paper consists of theoretical part, where on the basis of literature studies problems of organizational learning are presented, as well as practical part which presents some research results being a part of three projects carried out by the Department of Public Management and Social Sciences - Stakeholder analysis in the management of the public organization carried out in 2009-2011, Learning Organizations Survey in public health care units carried out in 2010 and the Organizational culture of public organizations carried out in 2012-2014. Globalisation and the scarcity of resources have contributed to the need to implement and meet higher customer expectations while reducing the number of employees, the workload, and resource depletion. This situation initiated Industry 4.0, the foundation of which is the implementation and dissemination of modern technologies related to process autonomization, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. They are to contribute to improvements in terms of increased efficiency, decision-making, as well as the creation and maintaining of competitive advantage. Changes in the field of robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies indicate that with the growth of their importance and implementation in organisations, changes need to be introduced in the management of organisations, particularly in the context of organisational processes that form the basis for making knowledge-based decisions. This article’s aim is to identify the meaning of organisational learning for Industry 4.0 implementation. For the purpose of the article, a literature analysis was carried out using the method of systematic literature review. A model on organizational learning within the Industry 4.0 was proposed. The results of analyses show that organisational learning is strictly related to Industry 4.0, as it stimulates the development, acquisition, transformation, and use of new knowledge, which is, in turn, crucial for the implementation of Industry 4.0. The article also proposes guidelines for management practitioners who may consider the introduction of Industry 4.0 tools into work as a challenge. Academic libraries can’t perpetuate the former status (position in the environment), but have to consistently look for new, more effective forms that can provide them with a high level of efficiency. If they want to stand out from other institutions, they should show their innovativeness and flexibility. The library manager (director) is obliged to manage in a manner resulting from a positive approach to the creative efforts of employees and treat people as the most important intellectual property, creating opportunities for them to reveal their creativity and commitment. The new culture of leadership is introduced by learning organizations. The learning organization is based on assumptions emphasizing the importance of human capital. Therefore, more and more attention is paid to people with great imagination and creativity. The aim of the article is to present cultural activities initiated by employees of the Lodz University of Technology
