Introduction: Sleep is essential for maintaining health, well-being, and functionality. The personality traits of the Five Factor Model (FFM) have proven promising as determinants of sleep quality. Objective: To explore the relationship between personality traits and sleep quality in a Brazilian sample by testing a predictive model based on multiple linear regression. Method: The study involved 447 adult participants (with an average age of 37.7 years), who completed an online survey including the following instruments: a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI-BR), the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-4), and the Big Five Inventory (BFI). Participants were selected through social media advertisements calling for volunteers for a study on sleep quality. Results: The regression model revealed that age, educational attainment, family income, BMI, neuroticism, and psychopathological symptoms were predictors of sleep quality. The gender, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness variables were not predictors of sleep quality in the multivariate analysis. Discussion and conclusion: The study emphasizes the role of neuroticism in predicting sleep quality over other personality traits. Additionally, the results suggest that the risk of or protection against the development of anxiety and depressive symptoms is a key mechanism linking personality traits to sleep. These findings can therefore contribute to identifying individuals at risk for sleep disturbances and developing health intervention strategies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

O objetivo deste artigo é refletir sobre o desenvolvimento da personalidade de alunos do ensino superior, por meio da análise qualitativa de experiências pedagógicas. A teoria de referência é a proposta de Vygotsky. Participaram 26 alunos do terceiro semestre do ensino superior. A análise realizada foi baseada na composição de um texto sobre a avaliação de um curso. Os resultados mostram que os alunos identificam um motivo cognitivo e social e um motivo voltado para o conhecimento de seus colegas. Conclui-se que a educação inclusiva pode ser o conteúdo que orienta o desenvolvimento de motivos de personalidade no ensino superior.

Background/Objective: In the fusion of university 4.0 and Society 5.0, higher education institutions are innovating in teaching and research to integrate advanced technologies and foster key skills such as critical thinking and creativity, using augmented reality, virtual labs, and adaptive learning. This pedagogical redesign is complemented by a focus on the psychological dimensions of learning, particularly, the study of how personality (Conscientiousness) influences academic performance through multidimensional procrastination. Method: The sample for this study, purposively selected from freshmen at UNED (Spanish National Distance Education University), comprised 327 students. Results: The partial mediation of academic procrastination in the relationship between Conscientiousness and performance shows that students with high Conscientiousness can achieve good results, and that procrastination presents a multifaceted mediational relationship: The Poor Time Management factor does not affect performance, while Core Procrastination has a negative impact and Work Disconnection has a positive one. Conclusions: This study reveals that, while procrastination is generally seen as an obstacle, certain manifestations can have a positive impact on academic performance. This understanding of the relationship between Conscientiousness, procrastination, and performance underscores the importance of addressing student behaviors in university 4.0. By incorporating these perspectives into the development of their programs and teaching methods, universities can better prepare students for the demands of a technologically advanced and socially responsible society. This comprehensive approach, which balances technological innovations with emotional well-being and personal effectiveness, is crucial for forming professionals capable of leading in the promotion of a sustainable and technologically enriched future. En el presente estudio se realizó una aproximación para la caracterización del perfil psicológico de un perfilador criminal, conocido también como perfilador criminológico o analista de la conducta criminal, para lo cual fueron seleccionados ocho (08) perfiladores de reconocida trayectoria profesional, tanto en campo práctico como en la preparación y ejercicio académico. La selección fue heterogénea y aleatoria dentro de un grupo de perfiladores hispanoparlantes y angloparlantes. Se revisaron diversos instrumentos psicométricos, de los cuales se consideró el Cuestionario 16PF-5, por ofrecer una medición de la personalidad típica, que considera dieciséis (16) factores de la personalidad y cinco (05) dimensiones generales (extroversión, ansiedad, dureza, independencia y autocontrol), dentro de los que se evalúa el grado de atrevimiento, seguridad en las relaciones sociales y carácter emprendedor del individuo frente a la timidez y retraimiento social, así como también el grado de suspicacia y escepticismo. Se encontraron coincidencias importantes en los factores de autosuficiencia, apertura al cambio, independencia y autocontrol. Se discuten los resultados a la luz de las características idóneas para el ejercicio de esta práctica profesional de cara a futuras investigaciones.

This article presents a psychological study with Tibetan Buddhism from Spain. Employing a mixed quantitative-qualitative approach, the study investigates how Buddhist beliefs, meditation practices and social belongingness are related to personality traits. In the quantitative analysis, significative lower scores in Sensation Seeking-Impulsivity and Activity were found when comparing the Tibetan Buddhist group (N = 30) with a non-Buddhist religious group (N = 30) and a non-religious group (N = 30). Furthermore, lower scores in Neuroticism-Anxiety and Future Anxiety were found when comparing a Buddhist group with a religious group. In-depth interviews with a subset of Buddhist participants (N = 8) shed light on the subjective perceived psychological effects of Buddhist practices, highlighting their role in coping with problems related to Future Anxiety, Sensation Seeking-Impulsivity, Aggression-Hostility and Neuroticism-Anxiety. The qualitative analysis also reveals an 'ascetic' profile among participants, characterized by an energetic and empathic style, yet with less attachment to conventional social norms and materialistic achievements. The aim of this study was to examine possible differences by sex and stage of adolescence in the use of proactive and preventive coping, its relationships with personality and emotional adjustment. A total of 934 Spanish adolescents participated. No differences were found by sex or stage of adolescence in the use of future-oriented coping or in its relationship with adjustment scores. The differences found were centered on the dispositional profile of future-oriented coping shown by the different subgroups. The dispositional profile of proactive coping was more complex in girls and in late adolescence. In contrast, the dispositional profile of preventive coping was more complex in boys, and the differences by stage of adolescence highlighted the different weight of the personality dimensions involved. These findings point to the importance of developing programs adapted according to sex and stage of adolescence to train adolescents in the use of future-oriented coping skills and to improve their mental health. There is considerable debate in the literature about how narcissism predicts various behaviors associated with the utility of social networking sites, but researchers have paid less attention to exploring the potential mediators of this relationship. Based on the existing literature, we anticipated that narcissism predicts self-promoting behaviors on social networking sites. The current study also investigated the mediating role of multidimensional perfectionism between narcissism and self-promoting behavior. A total of 605 complete questionnaires were gathered from students from universities from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan using convenient sampling. The study used Narcissistic Personality Inventory (Ames et al., 2006), self-developed Self-promoting Behavior on social networking sites questionnaire, and the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (Hewitt et al., 1991). Findings indicated that females as compared to males and single as compared to married individuals scored higher on narcissism. Higher educational levels were associated with higher rates of narcissism. The results also suggest that narcissism correlated with self-oriented perfectionism, and more significantly with others-oriented narcissism. Selforiented and others-oriented perfectionism significantly mediated the relationship between narcissism and self-promoting behavior on social networking sites. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Perceptions of recurrent forgetfulness or episodes of distraction in daily life are referred to as subjective memory complaints (SMCs). Their nature has been extensively studied in older adults, but their significance and relationship with neurocognitive performance have not been fully addressed in younger adults. Some psychological traits have been suggested as possible moderators of the association between objective and subjective memory performance. The first aim of this study was to analyze the correspondence between the objective and subjective perception of memory failures in young people. Second, we studied whether the psychological trait of neuroticism could be influencing this relationship. To do this, we measured SMCs, different cognitive domains (episodic and working memory and executive functions), and neuroticism in 80 young men and women. Results showed that only immediate episodic memory was statistically related to SMCs. Interestingly, the negative relationships between objective and subjective memory performance only appeared in participants with higher neuroticism. Thus, memory complaints reported by young people could reflect poorer immediate episodic memory performance, whereas neuroticism would play a main role in the association between memory deficits and SMCs. Intertemporal decision-making is the behavior of choosing between a smaller, more immediate reward and a larger, delayed reward. Delay discounting (DD) is the process by which the subjective value of an identified gain decreases as the delay in receiving it increases. Individuals with a high rate of DD tend to overvalue immediate benefits and make choices with detrimental long-term consequences. The present study aimed to assess the influence of the Big Five personality traits on intertemporal decision-making, considering the effects of sociodemographic covariates and psychopathological symptoms (anxiety, depression, and stress). The sample consisted of 520 Brazilian adults, with a mean age of 27.3 years (SD = 4.7) and 70.2% female. They completed an online survey, which included the Big Five Inventory (BFI- 5), the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21), and the Monetary Choice Questionnaire (MCQ-27). The results indicated that approximately 9% of the variance in DD is explained by mean family income, anxiety, agreeableness, neuroticism, and extraversion. Specifically regarding the influence of personality, 1.7% of DD was explained by agreeableness, 0.7% by extroversion, and 0.6% by neuroticism. These findings suggest that certain personal attributes contribute to increased DD, regardless of mean family income and emotional health status. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Generalmente, la gran diversidad de tratamientos psicológicos que pueden influir en la personalidad, el estado de ánimo, la motivación y las funciones cognitivas de una persona ha sido ampliamente estudiado. En los últimos años ha surgido una evidencia sobre la aparición de nuevos tratamientos psicológicos y sus posteriores modificaciones y adaptaciones para aplicarse a adolescentes o personas jóvenes y así averiguar su efectividad en este rango de edad de la población. El objetivo de esta investigación fue realizar una revisión sistemática de estudios registrados en las bases de datos de Web of Science (WOS) y Pubmed sobre nuevos tratamientos psicológicos aplicados a adolescentes dirigidos a favorecer los factores temperamentales, motivacionales y sociocognitivos actitudinales. En la revisión se incluyó 195 artículos científicos, utilizando la metodología PRISMA para analizar la información obtenida. Los resultados arrojaron un incremento emergente de las publicaciones sobre nuevos tratamientos para adolescentes en los últimos años, siendo el año 2021 el que más documentos registra en la muestra seleccionada. Además, los tratamientos más utilizados fueron aquellos dirigidos a paliar los factores temperamentales. A pesar de estos avances, el análisis bibliométrico sobre el tema objeto de estudio es escaso, así que para futuros estudios e investigaciones se recomienda verificar la efectividad de nuevos tratamientos psicológicos y sus adaptaciones en adolescentes para posteriores revisiones y disponer de esos tratamientos para su utilización.

En este trabajo se analiza la autopresentación online auténtica (AOA): grado en que las personas se presentan de manera online de modo auténtico, sin distorsionar su modo de ser offline. Primero se diseñó una medida psicométrica para su operacionalización, y luego se estudió su asociación con aspectos psicológicos positivos (bienestar y satisfacción con la vida), negativos (síntomas psicológicos y uso problemático de internet) y rasgos de personalidad (normales, patológicos y positivos). Finalmente, se analizó un modelo explicativo en donde la AOA era mediadora entre la personalidad y aspectos psicológicos positivos. Se analizó una muestra de 384 participantes (46.6% hombres, 52.6% mujeres y 0.05% no binarios) con edad promedio de 28 años (DE = 5.92) y una muestra adicional para el análisis factorial confirmatorio de características similares. Se obtuvo buena evidencia de validez (e. g., CFI = .917, SMRS = .059) y confiabilidad (α = .79, ω = .85) para una medida de ocho elementos. La AOA se relaciona positivamente con el bienestar y la satisfacción con la vida, y negativamente con la sintomatología psicológica y el uso problemático de internet. Se encontraron asociaciones positivas con todos los rasgos positivos y con extraversión, agradabilidad y responsabilidad. Se hallaron relaciones negativas con desapego y desinhibición. Los rasgos positivos resultaron ser los más explicativos de la AOA. Se halló que la AOA media la relación entre el rasgo de integridad y la satisfacción con la vida y el bienestar. Se destaca el rol primordial de los rasgos positivos en este tipo de conducta online y con los aspectos positivos asociados a la AOA.

Background: Personality is a fundamental psychological construct for explaining and predicting human behavior. Recent research has focused on the relationship between personality and emotional regulation, revealing that personality traits may influence the way individuals regulate their emotions. Objective: to assess the influence of personality traits from the Big Five Factor Model on cognitive strategies of emotional regulation in college students. Method: 283 students participated, aged 18 to 58 years, who were administered the Adjectives to Evaluate Personality (AEP) list and the Cognitive Strategies of Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ). Results: Personality traits most strongly explained the use of maladaptive strategies of emotional regulation, and to a lesser extent, of adaptive strategies. Neuroticism was the main predictor for maladaptive strategies, followed by Agreeableness, while for adaptive strategies, Agreeableness was the strongest predictor, followed by Openness to experience. This article seeks to provide a reflective approach to understand the spiritual personality, based on experimental psychology. It delves into the development of experimental psychology and its socio-historical contexts. Through experiments, interactions with multiple variables are established according to specific contexts and circumstances, as seen in the cases of Asch, Milgran and Zimbardo. These cases are analyzed considering the guiding principles of the Nuremberg Code, the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, and the 2008 Universal Declaration of Ethical Principles for Psychologists. Therefore, experimentation lays the foundations for experimental psychology, which has evolved, allowing new approaches and interpretations within the field of psychology. Building on these arguments, the concept of personality is embraced with reference to the foundations of psychology as a scientific discipline seeking to understand the value of personality from the ontological and spiritual perspective of the human being. Background: Combatants who are exposed to events that transgress deeply held moral beliefs might face lasting psychopathological outcomes, referred to as Moral Injury (MI). However, knowledge about pre-deployment factors that might moderate the negative consequences of MI is sparse. In this prospective study, we examined pre-enlistment characteristics and pre-deployment personality factors as possible moderators in the link between exposure to potentially morally injurious events (PMIEs) and psychiatric symptomatology among Israeli active-duty combatants. Methods: A sample of 335 active-duty Israeli combatants participated in a 2.5-year prospective study with three waves of measurements (T1: 12 months before enlistment, T2: Six months following enlistment – pre-deployment, and T3: 18 months following enlistment – postdeployment). Participants’ characteristics were assessed via semi-structured interviews (T1) and validated self-report measures of personality factors: emotional regulation, impulsivity, and aggression (T2) and combat exposure, PMIEs, psychiatric symptomology and posttraumatic symptoms (T3) between 2019 and 2021. Results: Pre-enlistment psychiatric difficulties and negative life events contributed to higher exposure to PMIEs post-deployment. Higher levels of pre-deployment aggression and lower levels of emotional regulation and impulsivity moderated the association between betrayal, PMIEs and psychiatric symptomology post-deployment, above and beyond pre-enlistment psychiatric difficulties and life events. Conclusions: Our results highlight that pre-deployment emotional regulation, impulsivity and aggressiveness levels should be assessed, screened, and identified among combatants, as they all facilitate psychiatric symptomology (and PTSS) after combatants are exposed to PMIEs of betrayal. Such pre-assessment will enable the identification of at-risk combatants and might provide them with tailor-made preparation regarding moral and ethical situations that should be investigated in future research. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la estructura interna de dos versiones del Big Five Inventory-15 (BFI-15), invarianza de medición y su relación con el bienestar subjetivo en estudiantes universitarios chilenos. Participaron 1011 estudiantes (mujeres = 54.80 %; Medad = 21.55 años; DEedad = 2.11 años). Los resultados indican que la versión peruana del BFI-15 (BFI-15p) tiene indicadores más consistentes con relación a su estructura interna (e.g., cargas factoriales) en comparación a la versión alemana (BFI-15a), así como una estructura invariante entre hombres y mujeres, y una asociación significativa con las dimensiones del bienestar subjetivo. Finalmente, la confiabilidad del constructo y de las puntuaciones alcanzó magnitudes adecuadas. Se concluye que el BFI-15p presenta propiedades psicométricas adecuadas para su uso en universitarios chilenos.

El objetivo de este estudio fue verificar un modelo predictivo de rasgos de personalidad positivos y negativos tomando como criterio el bienestar psicológico mediante la implementación de algoritmos de machine learning. Participaron 2038 sujetos adultos (51.9 % mujeres). Para la recolección de datos se utilizó: Big Five Inventory y Mental Health Continuum-Short Form. Además, para evaluar los rasgos positivos y negativos de personalidad se utilizaron los ítems ya validados de los modelos de rasgos positivos (HFM) y negativos (BAM) de forma conjunta. A partir de los hallazgos encontrados se pudo verificar que la eficacia predictiva del modelo testeado de rasgos positivos y negativos derivados de un enfoque léxico resultó superior a la capacidad predictiva de los rasgos normales de personalidad para la predicción del bienestar.

Antecedentes: la personalidad es un constructo psicológico fundamental para explicar y predecir el comportamiento humano. Investigaciones recientes se han focalizado en la relación entre la personalidad y la regulación emocional, revelando que los rasgos de personalidad pueden influir en la forma en que los individuos regulan sus emociones. Objetivo: evaluar la influencia de los rasgos de personalidad del modelo de los cinco grandes factores sobre las estrategias cognitivas de regulación emocional en estudiantes universitarios. Método: participaron 283 estudiantes, entre 18 y 58 años, a quienes se les administró el listado de adjetivos para evaluar la personalidad (AEP) y el cuestionario de estrategias cognitivas de regulación emocional (CERQ). Resultados: los rasgos de personalidad explican más fuertemente el uso de estrategias desadaptativas de regulación emocional y, en menor medida, de estrategias adaptativas. El neuroticismo resultó el principal predictor para las estrategias desadaptativas, seguido por la amabilidad; mientras que para las estrategias adaptativas, el mayor predictor fue la amabilidad, seguido de la apertura a la experiencia. Conclusión: este estudio contribuye a comprender la relación entre los rasgos de personalidad y las estrategias cognitivas de regulación emocional.

Actualmente, se ha producido un gran desarrollo tecnológico y el uso de internet entre los jóvenes está ampliamente presente. Si bien el uso adecuado de Internet puede tener consecuencias positivas en diferentes ámbitos, una utilización excesiva e incontrolada se ha asociado con numerosos resultados negativos. El objetivo de este estudio es estudiar la prevalencia del uso problemático de internet (UPI) en estudiantes universitarios hondureños y en identificar variables sociodemográficas y de personalidad asociadas al UPI. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 791 estudiantes universitarios. Se han realizado análisis descriptivos, correlaciones y comparativos. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto elevadas tasas de UPI en los estudiantes universitarios, mayor entre las mujeres, y que el UPI se asocia con un alto grado de neuroticismo y con bajos niveles de extraversión, cordialidad, responsabilidad, apertura a la experiencia y autoestima. En conclusión, este estudio ofrece información sobre factores relacionados con el UPI que pueden aumentar las posibilidades de una temprana detección e intervención.

Introducción: se sabe poco de la relación de parámetros fisiológicos del sueño con la personalidad y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes universitarios. Objetivo: Explorar la relación entre sueño, cronotipo, ansiedad, personalidad, calidad de vida y rendimiento académico en adolescentes universitarios. Método: el estudio fue de corte cuantitativo, observacional transversal. Se exploró el rendimiento académico acumulado (RAA), los parámetros fisiológicos del sueño, índice de calidad de sueño, cronotipo, personalidad, ansiedad y calidad de vida en estudiantes universitarios. Se realizó comparación y regresión lineal múltiple. Resultados: en una muestra de 27 estudiantes universitarios, se encontraron: correlaciones significativas positivas entre RAA y sexo y duración del sueño; varianza para edad, del sueño, ansiedad, atención a normas y sensibilidad; efecto significativo en edad y desviación estándar del sueño, sobre la varianza del RAA (p=0,001) con 39,1% a 50,8% de causalidad (R2a=0,39; R2=0,51). Conclusiones: el RAA en jóvenes es moderado por la duración del sueño y de la actividad de sueño es sensible para identificar cambios significativos en el RAA. El índice de calidad de sueño, cronotipo, personalidad, ansiedad y calidad de vida no son susceptibles de identificar efectos significativos en el RAA en estudiantes.

El Inventario de Personalidad IPIP- NEO es un instrumento con reactivos de dominio público. La variable de interés es la personalidad tal como es definida por la Teoría de los Cinco Grandes Factores. El objetivo del estudio es analizar las propiedades psicométricas del instrumento en su versión en español con 120 ítems distribuidos en cinco escalas con seis subescalas cada una. El estudio es de tipo instrumental que incluyó a estudiantes universitarios paraguayos. La recolección de datos se llevó a cabo entre abril y diciembre del 2018, en las facultades de Ciencias Médicas, Filosofía, Ciencias Sociales, Enfermería y Obstetricia de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción y las carreras de medicina y odontología de la Universidad del Pacifico. Se incluyeron en el estudio 345 estudiantes entre 17 y 36 años de edad (media de 21,2±2,8 años), mayoría mujeres (71,3%) y de la carrera de medicina (46,4%). El coeficiente de alfa de Cronbach fue para las escalas neuroticismo, extraversión, apertura a la experiencia, amabilidad y responsabilidad de 0,831; 0,785; 0,672; 0,795; 0,826, respectivamente. Tanto la consistencia interna como la estructura factorial fueron aceptables.

Resumen Introducción: el exceso de peso en las personas tiene implicaciones negativas en la productividad laboral. La inteligencia emocional y los rasgos de personalidad han mostrado diferencias entre personas con peso normal y con exceso de peso (de acuerdo con el IMC). Sin embargo, la evidencia de asociaciones con indicadores más objetivos como el porcentaje de grasa corporal es escasa. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar si existe relación entre el porcentaje de grasa corporal, la inteligencia emocional y los rasgos de personalidad en población joven trabajadora. Método: se realizó un estudio transversal-analítico en 125 jóvenes de Xalapa, Veracruz, México, con edad promedio de 24.6 años (DEedad±2.6). Se aplicó un cuestionario de datos sociodemográficos, la Escala de Inteligencia Emocional (EQ-i-M20), el Inventario de Rasgos de Personalidad (BFI-15p) y se midió el porcentaje de grasa corporal mediante análisis de bioimpedancia. Resultados: la inteligencia emocional y los rasgos de personalidad presentan diferencias entre los sexos. Las mujeres presentan menor inteligencia emocional y mayor neuroticismo que los hombres. En la muestra total, se identificaron como predictores del porcentaje de grasa corporal algunas dimensiones de la inteligencia emocional como manejo de estrés, adaptabilidad y ánimo general, así como los rasgos de neuroticismo y apertura. Conclusión: es indispensable que los entornos laborales consideren las dimensiones de la inteligencia emocional y los rasgos de personalidad, en la planeación de estrategias para la promoción de la salud y la prevención de enfermedades asociadas al exceso de peso.

Introducción: El estudio de la personalidad de trabajadores y aspirantes es primordial en los procesos de gestión del capital humano en la Unión Eléctrica. Para su evaluación es necesario el empleo de herramientas válidas y confiables que permitan una interpretación precisa, estable y ética de los resultados. Objetivos: Examinar la forma 5 del cuestionario de 16 factores de personalidad de Cattell en trabajadores de la Unión Eléctrica; obtener evidencias de la validez, la confiabilidad de esta prueba y establecer los valores normativos para su calificación en la población de referencia. Métodos: Se desarrolló una investigación cuantitativa, de tipo descriptiva y corte transversal, entre los meses de mayo de 2022 y junio de 2023. Se aplicó un muestreo no probabilístico intencional a 445 trabajadores. Se estudió la consistencia interna del instrumento, su estabilidad, estructura factorial y las puntuaciones descriptivas de los factores de primer orden. Resultados: Los resultados muestran que el instrumento cuenta con una consistencia interna adecuada y su estructura factorial se ajusta a las planteadas por los manuales de la prueba para las versiones en inglés y español. Se establecieron los valores normativos para la calificación del instrumento en la población de referencia. Conclusiones: La investigación examinó las propiedades psicométricas y las puntuaciones fundamentales del instrumento; permitió la elaboración de sus normas de calificación para la población de referencia y deja una serie de recomendaciones para hacer más válidas y confiables la utilización de los cuestionarios de personalidad de Cattell en la Unión Eléctrica Introduction: The study of the personality of workers and applicants is essential in the processes of human capital management in the Electric Union. For its evaluation, it is necessary to use valid and reliable tools that allow an accurate, stable and ethical interpretation of the results. Objectives: To examine Form 5 of the Cattell´s questionnaire of 16 personality factors in workers of the Electric Union; to collect evidence of the validity and reliability of this test and to establish the normative values for its qualification in the reference population. Methods: A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional research was developed between May 2022 and June 2023. Intentional non-probability sampling was applied to 445 workers. The internal consistency of the instrument, its stability, factorial structure and the descriptive scores of the first-order factors were studied. Results: The results show that the instrument has an adequate internal consistency and its factorial structure conforms to those proposed by the test manuals for the English and Spanish versions. The normative values for the qualification of the instrument in the reference population were established. Conclusions: The research examined the psychometric properties and fundamental scores of the instrument; allowed the elaboration of its qualification standards for the reference population and leaves a series of recommendations to make the use of Cattell's personality questionnaires in the Electric Union more valid and reliable

El mundo financiero obtiene ganancias del producto crédito, a su vez, los usuarios pueden adquirir bienes que de otra manera les sería imposible. Sin embargo, el círculo se rompe si una de las partes incumple, por ello, para las empresas es importante detectar con anticipación posibles malos pagadores. La investigación busca descubrir rasgos de personalidad de buenos y malos pagadores. La primera etapa consiste en entrevistas a profundidad con diez analistas y usuarios de crédito. Se revela que los malos pagadores tienden a ser ostentosos, impulsivos, cortoplacistas y encuentran satisfacción en elementos externos. Mientras que los buenos pagadores encuentran satisfacción en elementos internos. Para los buenos pagadores el dinero cobija, para los malos pagadores el dinero satisface, oprime o traiciona. Hay dos perfiles de malos pagadores: indiferentes y adictos. En la segunda etapa de investigación se establecen nueve factores y 48 ítems con escala de Likert que son probados en 100 personas. El análisis factorial reduce a cinco los factores. Los factores dinero y calma permiten identificar a los malos pagadores.

The use of game-related assessments (GRAs) in personnel selection is increasing. However, the type of GRA under investigation should be considered. This study focuses on game-based assessments, which closely resemble leisure-oriented videogames. We specifically examined a serious game that assesses personality traits (assertiveness, sociability, tolerance, and rules). We analyzed its predictive validity, applicant reactions, and the impact of personal and job-related factors on scores. The study included 182 participants who played the GRA and completed a Big Five questionnaire. Findings revealed that the game predicts adaptive performance, offering incremental value over the Big Five (ΔR2 =.107). Additionally, candidates reacted more positively to the GRA in terms of comfort and fit, although the effect size was small (d = -0.1757 and -0.3119, respectively). Relating to personal and job-related characteristics, only job experience significantly affected the assertiveness score, albeit with a small effect size (d = -0.3870). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
