- Abstract
Igra ima nezamenljiv značaj u celokupnom dečijem razvoju. Deca teško izražavaju svoje emocije stoga je igra najbolji način njihovog proživljavanja i izražavanja. Efikasna je i kod dece s poremećajem iz spektra autizma., Play has irreplaceable significance in the overall development of children. Children find it difficult to express their emotions, so play is the best way to experience and express them. It allows the child to solve its problem in natural way on its own. Non-directive child-centered play therapy is a process in which child independently chooses toys and type of game to express different emotional states. The aim of this paper is to review and analyze available literature to point out importance of the applications of child-centered play therapy. The literature search was realized through Google Scholar and service of Consortium of libraries of Serbia for unified procurement – KOBSON. Based on the analysis of the available literature, it can be concluded that child-centered play therapy is widely used. It has a positive effect on children who show behavioral problems, problems in acquisition school knowledge, difficulties in establishing social relations, problems of affective attachment. It is effective in children with autism spectrum disorder.
