Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami: 1.) Essensi pendidikan yang ada di Malaysia dan Indonesia; dan 2.) Peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di Malaysia dan Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik studi literatur dengan harapan dapat memberikan penjelasan secara komprehensif terkait kualitas mutu pendidikan di negara berkembang. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1.) Essensi pendidikan yang ada di Malaysia dan Indonesia; dan 2.) Peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah di Malaysia dan Indonesia. Essensi pendidikan baik di Malaysia atau di Indonesia hampir sama yaitu untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam ranah pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan. Malaysia dalam pengejawantahkan tentang essensi pendidikan lebih fokus dalam mengoptimalkan keterampilan peserta didik dengan kata lain peran guru sebagai pendidik di Malaysia sangat mempengaruhi keberlangsungan pedidikan. Peran yang dilakukan kepala sekolah yang ada di Indonesia dalam kaitannya untuk meningkatkan mutu sekolah yaitu dengan cara membentuk tim peningkatan mutu, melakukan perbaikan secara berkelanjutan dengan cara berkomunikasi dan meneruskannya kepada seluruh anggota yang ada dilembaga pendidikan, dan menciptakan suasana tempat bekerja yang nyaman. Sedangkan peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang ada di Malaysia diimplementasikan dengan cara kepala sekolah dapat mewujudkan visi dan misi sekolah, fokus dalam pengelolaan proses belajar mengajar dengan tujuan meningkatkan peringkat sekolah, dan komitmen dalam menciptakan kondisi atau lingkungan belajar yang positif sambil mendayagunakan seluruh warga sekolah dengan pendekatan yang ramah dan terbuka. Abstract This study aims to understand 1.) The essence of education in Malaysia and Indonesia; and 2.) The role of the principal's leadership in Malaysia and Indonesia. This study uses qualitative research with data collection techniques using literature study techniques in the hope that it can provide a comprehensive explanation related to the quality of education in developing countries. The results of this study are 1.) The essence of education in Malaysia and Indonesia; and 2.) The role of the principal's leadership in Malaysia and Indonesia. The essence of education both in Malaysia or Indonesia is almost the same, namely to optimize the ability of students in the realm of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. The Malaysian state in the embodiment of the essence of education is more focused on optimizing the skills of students, in other words, the role of teachers as educators in Malaysia greatly influences the sustainability of education. The role of the principal in the country of Indonesia in relation to improving the quality of schools is by forming a quality improvement team, make improvements on an ongoing basis by communicating and forwarding it to all existing members of the educational institution, and create a comfortable work environment. Whereas the principal's leadership role in Malaysia is implemented in a way that the principal can embody the vision and mission of the school, focus on managing teaching and learning processes with the aim of improving school rankings, and commitment to creating positive learning conditions or environments while empowering all school residents with a friendly and open approach.

The task of each country that wants quality education has to improve educational policy directed to the field of education and professional development of teachers. Analyzing the various researches and discussions in the past two decades in the European environment, it could be seen that the most notable role, position and competences of teachers in modern school. Also important question related to the quality of educational institutions, conditions, education, and the role of future teachers in the educational process, and the standards that have been placed in all areas of work. The paper also discusses the issue of ensuring the quality of the school and the place and role of teachers in these processes. Improving the quality of school is a dynamic process that is open and aimed at maximum which is always strive. Teachers as carriers of these processes have a major role and responsibility, because it emphasizes that improving quality depends primarily on the selection, education, social status and permanent development of teachers must possess the appropriate knowledge, skills, personal characteristics, professional perspective and motivation. With this in mind, the paper discusses the specific conditions and circumstances which are the basis for development of teacher competencies that contribute to ensuring the quality of school. This study aims to determine the direct influence of (1) participation in school quality, (2) the cost of education with school quality, (3) community participation with the costs of education. The method used is survey method with the correlational approach. In this study were used as a sample of 63 principals were selected based on random techniques (simple random sampling). Data were obtained by spreading questioner. This research was conducted in the district of Tangerang.Based on hypothesis testing that has been done, it can be described findings of the study as follows: (1) there is a direct positive effect between participation with school quality, (2) there is a positive direct influence between the cost of education with school quality, (3) there is a direct influence Among positive community participation with the costs of education.The implication of this research is the effort to improve school quality can be done through increased community participation and education expenses.

The paper presents some methodological applications of design-basedresearch regarding the relation between managerial decision-making and the qualityof a school. With the support of the theoretical principles of decision-making andthe concept of a good school, we review the real eff ects of our decision-makingprocesses in the phase of constituting a school and developing the school curriculum.The project is a private, bilingual primary school. The quality of the decision-makingprocesses represents the basis of the quality of the school. During a 4 year period,we were observing and evaluating how the initial decisions were reviewed and changed during the cyclical process of analysis-design-evaluation-new design. Based on our process experience, we off er some interpretations which might contribute to wider understanding of decision-making processes of the management of schools. Concurrently, we make use of the research outputs to refine a practical solution tobenefit the surveyed school.

Implementation of quality management tools into the school environment regarding it as an organization and the education process of vocational subject is one of the modern means to improve its quality. It involves the whole school including all its parts and processes as well as its employees. Quality management philosophy is based on strategic planning, aiming of the school through its role, vision and values. The school accepting the demands and requirements of its partners becomes more flexible and its competitiveness among other schools increases. Its offer through the school curricula becomes more attractive for the potential partners because it respects their demands and requirements. The potential partner fully or partially finds what he is looking for. Implementation of tools of quality management is carried out through PDCA cycle and orientation on the partner's satisfaction in education process of the vocational subject. The article deals with introduction and implementation elements of quality management in the school environment and in the education process of professional subjects from the theoretical and practical point of view. This thesis deals with the topic of school authorities support of schools and educational facilities quality management. The thesis describes roles and responsibilities of headmasters and school authorities, and their mutual relationship. It summarizes the findings concerning school management, education quality, and highlights the importance of education, including the support headmasters receive from the municipality. Questionnaires, structured interviews, document analysis and observation were used to describe the state of the support by school authorities and the satisfaction of the headmasters with the support provided. The dependence of the support scope on the type of municipality, the type and size of the school or education facility, the term of office, and gender was also tracked. Despite the fact that certain tendencies and partial matches were perceived, it was stated that providing and receiving support is considerably individual. The thesis can be used as a basis for further research with the aim of designing better support mechanisms in order to improve the quality of work of headmasters and school authorities. It could help them realize their possibilities and needs, as well as better understanding their own roles.

U traženju najboljih načina za ostvarivanje ciljeva nastave, jedno od mogućih didaktičkih rješenja pronalazimo u projektnoj nastavi. Ravitz i sur. (2012) opisuju projektnu nastavu kao koncept stvaranja uvjeta u kojima učenici mogu učiti složenija znanja i vještine koja su im nepohodna za život u 21. stoljeću. Ona predstavlja brojne izazove za učitelje i škole, a poteškoće na koje nailaze pri njezinoj implementaciji su brojne. Za učinkovito rješavanje problema implementacije projektne nastave u radu škole, neophodno je omogućiti učiteljima samovrednovanje nastavnog procesa. Samovrednovanje je proces koji sustavno prati, analizira i procjenjuje uspješnost rada kako bi se trajno unaprijedila kvaliteta i stvorilo poticajno radno okruženje. U ovom je radu prikazan primjer Školskog razvojnog plana, kao sastavnog dijela procesa samovrednovanja, kojim je projektna nastava definirana kao prioritetno područje unaprjeđenja rada škole i razvojnih ciljeva koji proizlaze iz njih., In finding the best ways to accomplish learning goals one of the possible didactic solutions would be project-based learning. Ravitz et al. (2012) describe project-based learning as a concept that involves creating conditions which would help students learn more complex knowledge and skills vital for the life in the 21st century. This concept holds many challenges for both teachers and schools, and many issues arise in its implementation. The effective solution for the implementation problems of project-based learning in schools necessary involves self-evaluation of the teaching process. Self-evaluation is a process that systematically monitors, analyses and assesses the work performance in order to permanently achieve better quality and create a more productive working surroundings. This paper shows an example of a school development plan, as an integral part of the self-evaluation process, that defines the project-based learning as a priority area in improving the school processes and development goals which derive from them.

The objective of this paper is to highlight the effects of domestic work of girls on their school results in Cȏte d’Ivoire. From a probit model, the analysis indicates that domestic work favours, meaningfully, the fact about repeating a school year for the girl child. Besides, the availability of basic services in schools significantly reduces failure of girls in schools in rural areas. Thus, policy makers must equip schools with canteens, toilets for girls, and they should also provide the necessary facilities for drinking water points.

Publikace se zabývá kvalitou školy z hlediska péče o nadané žáky. Je rozdělena na 8 hlavních kapitol, jejichž zaměření postupně provádí čtenáře od teoretických východisek problematiky nadání, nadaných žáků, jejich edukace a hodnocení kvality školy, až po prakticky orientované výzkumné šetření. Cílem výzkumu bylo popsat a zhodnotit přístup k edukaci nadaných žáků z hlediska jednotlivých položek v dotazníku, dále 4 faktorů (oblastí dotazníku) a dotazníku jako celku; porovnat celkový přístup k edukaci nadaných žáků z hlediska vybraných proměnných vztahujících se k učitelům (pohlaví, věk, délka praxe, zaměření výuky, aprobovanost) a porovnat celkový přístup k edukaci nadaných žáků z hlediska vybraných proměnných vztahujících se ke škole (typ školy, velikost školy, velikost obce, kraj ČR)., The publication deals with the quality of schools in terms of care for gifted students. It is divided into eight main chapters, the focus gradually takes the reader from the theoretical background issues talents of gifted children, their education and quality assessment of school to practice-oriented research. The aim of the research was to describe and evaluate the access to education of gifted students in terms of individual items in the questionnaire, as well as four factors (areas of the questionnaire) and the questionnaire as a whole; compare the overall approach to the education of gifted students in terms of selected variables related to teachers (gender, age, length of practice, the focus of teaching, aprobovanost) and compare the overall approach to the education of gifted students in terms of selected variables related to school (type of school, school size, size of the municipality, the county Czech Republic).
