This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of artificial intelligence, which is viewed through the lens of social science. Specifically, it seeks to answer the question of whether social science has been able to anticipate the future in the case of artificial intelligence. In order to answer this question, a combination of the methods of symptomatic reading and hermeneutics is used in the following paper. These consist of reading the selected literature in order to find deeper meanings that may have seemed hidden at first glance. For the analysis I have chosen Ulrich Beck, Anthony Giddens and Niklas Luhmann as representatives of the social sciences, as each of them deals with the relationship between society and nature and thus their holistic worldview can be assumed to includes the topic of artificial intelligence. The thesis first deals with artificial intelligence itself, its development, types and threats. It concludes the first part by defining three selected areas of current risks, namely: the ambiguity of what AI actually is and is not and people's unclear ideas about it, the possibility of text and image manipulation, and finally the problem of outdated data and biased code. Thesis Perception of new media as a threat on an example of Black Mirror series deals with the Black Mirror series viewers' stand on new media threats. The aim is to detect if the series affected their opinions or behavior with new media in any way. This aim will be persuaded by using the method of semi-structured interviews. The topic of new media and their negative impacts on individuals and society is in sociology represented increasingly. Black Mirror series literally aiming to set up a black mirror for our lives with ever-evolving technologies adds a value that can affect the respondents' emotions and opinions on this topic. The theoretical part describes the transitions of society in modern day - concept of network society and risk society and explains the terms threat and risk. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on current new media threats. The second, practical, part describes the specific methodological procedures used in this thesis and thus the methods of thematic analysis and methods of qualitative interviews. This will be followed by a description of the research steps, a description of the results and the results interpretation.

Příspěvek popisuje novou verzi normy systémů řízení kvality ISO 9001, obohacenou o hledisko aplikace řízení rizik. Jsou vysvětleny cíle a principy tohoto přístupu a uveden přehled souvisejících norem. Příspěvek doporučuje metodický postup k analýze rizik pomocí metody RIPRAN. Význam řízení rizik v současnosti je připomenut prostřednictvím pojmu riziková společnost, který byl definován v knize německého sociologa U. Becka. Příspěvek byl přenesen na konferenci ExFoS 2018 a publikován ve sborníku konference, aby upozornil na aktuálnost využití rizikového inženýrství také v problematice řízení kvality. The contribution deals with the risk engineering approach in new version ISO quality management standard 9001. Goals and principles the risk point of view and other connected ISO risk standards with the new standard are described. The method RIPRAN is recommended. The term risk society by german writer U. Beck is mentioned as expression for current social situation. The paper was presented at XXVII. International conference ExFoS 2018 and was published at the conference proceeding.

The diploma thesis "Media terrorism via bacteria E.coli" puts the so-called cucumber affair from Summer 2011 into wider context and aims to discover the main attributes of contemporary risks and define the way they are presented in the media. Misguiding media releases and the inability to identify the source of the bloody diarrhea outbreak in Germany caused by E.coli bacteria have collectively had a significant impact on consumer behavior and economic stability on a global level. Most people are dependent on government and expert authorities due to the fact that they cannot recognize what represents a realistic threat and what serves as a basis for media sensation. This is why this thesis studies the social constructionist theory, basic media routines and practices as well as theoretical concepts that support the production of pseudo-events. A content analysis of selected Czech dailies and weeklies was executed in order to enable a comparison of the language that has been common for all "pandemics" in the 21st century.

The present thesis introduces an analysis of a part of public corporate communication through which large international companies present a positive image of their brands, technologies, operations and, above all, their values vis-à-vis the issue of environmental protection. It would likely not provoke much dispute, shall it be stated that environmental protection has over the several past decades climbed to the top of the list of the world's priority agenda. Yet whether an ecological crisis is or is not a real threat, or whether the parties involved really do or do not take the proclaimed steps necessary for the improvement of the state of the natural environment, is not a matter of importance here. The important thing is that people (companies) are talking about the environment. In the context of a global ecological threat companies are on one hand pressured into accepting green responsibilities, on the other hand in building their green image they actively adopt certain aspects of green discourse and articulate their own environmental diagnoses and propose possible remedies. We may say that corruption replaced repression as the main threat to the rule of law. This work attempts to articulate the role of corruption in relation to system legitimacy, assuming Czech Republic and the CEE countries as a model. This work approaches corruption as a narrative, which is being mobilized by the public as a critique of the way the system works. Conventionally, corruption is thought of as a pathology, which damages democracy, quality of governance and economic growth. It will be argued that it also makes sense to think about corruption the other way around - as an interpretive structure which allows introducing sense into the complex organization of society and particularly its negative outcomes. Corruption is a narrative, which allows the public to relate to problems stemming from the workings of the system. This work identifies several dimensions of the problem. The essay begins with Benjamin`s comprehension of truth and his method of constellation which aims to the truth. I connect the method to the act of naming, which I derive from comprehension of subject in German idealism. Method is necessary condition for very constellation of liberal ideology. Contemporary liberalism thus does not only symbolize time after "the end ideology", but even space of time, when the ideology acquire its own most effective form. "The truth became most effective form of lie." In this sense I continue in critique of postmodernism as the ideology of late capitalism. In fine I outline the way to postmodernism by force of "risk thinking" which remains faithful to dialectic. Solely immanent critique which is far from normative critique of postmodernism sets in motion rigid conditions caused by omnipresent ideology.
