The current preventive trends in clinical examination draw attention to the role of the external factors and stressful circumstances in psychodiagnostic research. Social frustration is an incapacity to fulfill relevant social needs because of a current situation. This term makes it possible to qualify criteria for the potential stress related to social functioning among family members, colleagues, and peers. The authors rationalized and tested a formalized questionnaire of Social Frustration Level developed at Bekhterev National Medical Research Centre for Psychiatry and Neurology in 2004 for patients with social adjustment disorders. The experiment justified the criterion validity of the Social Frustration Level Questionnaire. The article describes the structure of social frustration regarding the key spheres of activity attributed to internal and external frustration. The pilot study involved 45 patients with adjustment disorders, who showed significant frustration related to health problems and socio-economic status accompanied with relative satisfaction with interpersonal relations, i.e., family, friends, colleagues, and strangers. The research relied on the method of clinical psychological interview, as well as the Questionnaire of Social Frustration Level and the Integrative Anxiety Test. Personal anxiety and actual anxiety experiences proved to correlate with social frustration. The internal social frustration prevailed over the external one. The Questionnaire of Social Frustration Level proved to be an efficient practical tool to be used in systematic medical psychodiagnostics research, programs of disorder prevention, and psychotherapy.

The anticipated surge in hydrogen energy adoption underscores the pivotal role of social acceptance in determining the viability of hydrogen technologies (HTs). This review provides a comprehensive overview of acceptance research on HT, evaluating measurement tools and utilized models, identifying influencing factors, and analyzing academic discourse on HT diffusion. Drawing from 39 studies, it highlights key acceptance factors: trust, environmental attitudes, subjective knowledge, and perceived risks. Discourse analysis uncovers perceived barriers like trust deficits, infrastructural challenges, and financial constraints, while strategic considerations such as timing and transparency are identified as drivers. The findings emphasize an individual-centred perspective, heterogeneous operationalizations, and a lack of longitudinal studies. The authors propose increased downstream research, focusing on societal reactions to implemented technologies and considering both psychological and contextual factors. By analyzing the impact of social psychological factors, the article delves into how university lecturers cultivate communicative tolerance throughout their professional development. Purpose of the study. The study aims to identify the specific socio-psychological factors that have shaped the communicative tolerance of university lecturers. Materials and methods of research. Utilizing theoretical approaches, the research involved an in-depth analysis of fundamental concepts within psychological and philosophical frameworks. Additionally, the study employed various mathematical statistical methods, such as correlation, factor, and cluster analyses, to explore the complex interplay of factors influencing communicative tolerance. In the study, various diagnostic tools were utilized as well, i.e. the Tolerance Index express questionnaire (by G.U. Soldatova, O.A. Kravtsova, O.E. Khukhlaev, L.A. Shaigerova), the Communicative Tolerance Questionnaire (by V.V. Boyko), Methodology for the evaluation of the level of empathic abilities (by V.V. Boyko), the Sixteen Personality-factor questionnaire (16 PF) (by R. Cattell), Methodology for the Diagnosis of interpersonal relationships (DME) (by T. Leary). Research results. The findings of the research provide a theoretical analysis of communicative tolerance development, shedding light on its significance and role within the professional realm of lecturers. The insufficient development of critical thinking among university lecturers has been validated through empirical data analysis, highlighting the impact of various internal and external social psychological factors on their communicative tolerance. Factors such as empathy, emotional maturity, emotional-volitional qualities, communicative qualities, positive communicative attitude, social maturity, and professional maturity play a significant role in shaping the level of communicative tolerance exhibited by university lecturers. Refractory asthma in children seriously affects their lung function and quality of life. There are no guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of refractory asthma in children in China. This article reviews the research progress on childhood refractory asthma in terms of genetic, environmental, socio-psychological factors. Through genetic testing and biological indicators, early identification of refractory asthma in children and individualized treatment based on molecular level, combined with the control of environmental factors and psychosocial factors, provide new ideas for the prevention and control of refractory asthma in children. This quantitative study investigates the taxpayers' perceptions of tax evasion. The tax evasion determinants were considered as institutional, economic, socio-psychological, and political and legal factors. Using a 5-point Likert scale, this study looked at 436 medium-sized entrepreneurs in the Colombo district to determine the most influential determinant of tax evasion. The survey responses were gathered through a questionnaire. The results show that socio-psychological and economic factors have a significant and negative impact on medium-sized taxpayers' income tax evasion behaviour while institutional and political and legal factors have a weak association on tax evasion. The findings show that tax evasion is influenced by socio-psychological factors such as fairness of the tax system, moral obligation, and social influences, as well as economic factors such as tax rates, penalties, audit, and taxpayer privileges. The results highlight that in the Sri Lankan context, socio-psychosocial factors are regarded as a very crucial determinant that impacts individual income tax evasion. In addition, it offers insight into the influence of gender of business owner on tax evasion behaviour. Results suggest that mediumsized taxpayers' tax evasion behaviors could be changed if tax policy decisions contemplate more on taxpayer's psychological condition and affordability to pay tax. This study investigates the relationship between socio-psychological factors, innovation attributes, behavior intention, and green fertilizer technology (GFT) adoption among Malaysian paddy farmers. The study also examined whether behavior intention mediated the relationship between socio-psychological factors and green fertilizer technology. The study collected data from 170 paddy farmers in Malaysia's Kedah and Perak states. The study used a quantitative research design and analyzed the data using the SmartPLS 4 software. The study's results indicate a positive and significant relationship between the socio-psychological factors, innovation attributes, behavior intention, and the adoption of GFT. Specifically, the study found that the socio-psychological factors significantly positively affect farmers' behavior intention to adopt GFT. Further, innovation attributes significantly impact farmers' behavior and intention to adopt GFT. The study's findings provide several implications for policymakers, extension agents, and other stakeholders interested in promoting the adoption of GFT among Malaysian paddy farmers. The study suggests that promoting positive attitudes toward GFT, creating awareness of the benefits of GFT, and improving farmers perceived behavioral control may increase farmers' intention to adopt GFT. Additionally, policymakers should develop GFT that is simple and compatible with farmers' needs, making it easier for farmers to adopt. Moreover, this study contributes to the literature on adopting green technologies by highlighting the importance of socio-psychological factors and innovation attributes in shaping farmers' behavior intention to adopt GFT. An increase in solid waste production may affect sustainable solid waste handling practices such as indirect disposal and sanitary landfilling. The objective of this study was to explore the possibility of Dammam residents' participation in sorting and recycling by comparing sustainable waste handling practices from different income level groups according to family income levels to determine the impacts of independent variables on the willingness of residents to participate in sustainable waste handling practices. There was a statistically significant difference between low and high levels of awareness and perceived behavior control in Dammam City households' willingness to sort waste and recycle; however, at the middle level, there was only a significant difference in perceived behavior control. Moreover, there was a statistically significant difference between high and middle levels in government facilitators regarding sorting and recycling willingness in Dammam City. The descriptive analysis comprised 450 participants (37.8%) in middle levels, (44.2%), high levels, and (18%) low levels. The results of the participants' attitudes consisted of sorting (57.1%) and recycling (55.1%), as well as awareness (46.9%) and sorting and recycling (47.1%) in high-income levels. In perceived behavior control, the participants' results were 47.7% for sorting and 49.6% for recycling in the middle level. Regarding, MI, SI, and GF, the participants' results in the high-income levels were greater than the others (44.2%, 51.1%, and 57.1%, respectively) toward sorting and recycling. Only awareness between low-income and high-income groups and between the middle-income and high-income groups was significant; therefore, it was supported in some instances and not in others. Background: Consumers are known to help others engage in consumption and anti-consumption practices. It is argued that behavioural involvement and social norm perceptions may motivate customers to help other customers engage in anti-consumption practices. Aim: This study aims to investigate the role of behavioural involvement (psychological factor) and social norm perceptions (social factor) in motivating customers to help other customers engage in anti-consumption practices. Setting: A self-administered survey was sent by a research agency to South African respondents aged 18 and older, who generally advise other customers about suitable anti-consumption practices. Method: A quantitative study was undertaken and respondents were selected using purposive sampling. A total of 476 useable responses were collected. Furthermore, descriptive statistics, reliability testing, and multiple regressions were undertaken to test the study’s hypotheses. Results: Three of the four behavioural involvement factors tested are significant predictors of helping; while two of the social norm factors tested are significant predictors of helping. Marketers’ inappropriate actions impact negatively on their customers’ behaviour, but a more far-reaching consequence is that their customers are willing to help others engage in anti-consumption practices. Conclusion: Behavioural involvement and social norm perceptions motivate customers to help other customers engage in anti-consumption practices. Contribution: The study uncovers the role of socio-psychological factors in motivating customers to help other customers avoid brands that may be harmful towards society.

Despite scientific proof of the benefits and effects of fish consumption on human health, most Indians consume less than the recommended dietary amounts. The current study attempted to assess the knowledge gap of fish eaters regarding the health and nutritional benefits, along with identifying the factors that directly and indirectly influence the knowledge level of fish consumers. The fish eaters were surveyed during the F.Y. 2021–2022 with representative samples of 934 fish consumers from across ten districts of the Gujarat state in western India. Fish consumers were found to have insufficient knowledge about health and nutritional benefits, which stalled the growth of fish consumption in the region. The significant factors influencing the knowledge level of fish consumers were education qualification, fish quality evaluation criteria, number of children in a family, years of fish consumption and family size. The consumers were found to place greater emphasis on the fish quality evaluation parameters such as smell, appearance, nutritional value, product price and freshness. Abstract: Introduction. The article analyzes a multidimensional subjective construct in terms of types and content, the experience of loneliness among university students. The idea of the loneliness dual nature as both a negative state, a resource that actualizes the social connections of the subjects, and a need-based state aimed at self-knowledge is expanded. The composition of the loneliness components, represented by three orthogonal factors, is determined. It is noted that the specifics of the experience of loneliness and the factors determining it will affect the effectiveness of educational activities and adaptation, leading to the devaluation of tasks or self-development and self-improvement of the student. Methods. The following methods were used: “The UCLA Loneliness Scale” by D. Russell and M. Ferguson; “Multidimensional Inventory of Loneliness Experience (MILE)” by E. N. Osin, D. A. Leont'ev; “The anxiety self–assessment test” by C. D. Spielberger – Y. L. Khanin; “Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale, (SDS)”; questionnaire by G. R. Shagivaleeva, “Diagnosis of communicative and organizational aptitudes” (COA-I); the methodology “Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations” (CISS) (authors – S. Norman, D. F. Endler, D. A. James, M. I. Parker). The study design assumed the determination of integral loneliness factors (factor analysis), followed by a z-score calculation for each respondent and the influence of additional factors identification. Using the Mann–Whitney U test and the x2 test, the difference in loneliness experience was revealed depending on sex, nationality, and place of residence. Results and Discussion. Factor analysis allowed us to identify the component composition of loneliness, represented by three integral variables: depressive experience of loneliness, positive experience of loneliness, and experience of loneliness in interpersonal relationships. The content of each type of loneliness experience and its socio-psychological determinants are found. Among the personal factors of experiencing loneliness, trait anxiety, depression, and perfectionism, coping strategies are highlighted. Significant factors of socio-psychological nature were gender, place of primary residence, and nationality. The dual nature of the experience of loneliness is confirmed.

In India, 78% of farmers are small and marginal, cultivating only 33% of the arable land but producing 50% of the food grain; their vulnerability to climate change poses a significant threat to the country’s food security. To enhance agricultural resilience, it is crucial to understand how these farmers perceive and integrate climate-smart technologies into their farming practices. A random sample of 240 farmers was selected for this study. An ex-post facto research design was employed to investigate farmers’ awareness of and adoption of CSAT and identify the significant variables influencing their decisions. The results indicate that approximately 74 per cent of farmers had low to medium awareness of CSAT, while around 83 per cent had low to medium adoption rates. Several factors were found to be significantly correlated with farmers’ awareness and adoption of CSAT, including education level, annual income, exposure to agricultural mass media, participation in extension programs, innovativeness, achievement motivation, risk orientation, and scientific orientation. Additionally, farmers faced various challenges in adopting CSAT, such as the high cost of inputs, limited knowledge about CSAT, and youth migration from rural areas. Based on the study’s findings, farmers emphasized the importance of involving them in decision-making processes related to the development of climate-smart technologies. They also highlighted the need for a timely supply of inputs and field visits to successful farms as effective means to promote awareness and adoption of CSAT. The comprehensive analysis of associated factors and empirical findings presented in this study will benefit private sector organizations, government extension agents, academics, and policymakers. By gaining insights into the determinants of CSAT adoption, these stakeholders can focus their efforts more effectively on promoting widespread adoption. Additionally, this study can inform policy decisions regarding the allocation of government resources to combat climate change.

This study employed an extended theory of planned behaviour to assess the socio-psychological factors influencing farmers' willingness to continue participating (WTCP) in collaborative activities of community-based innovation platforms (CB-IPs). Using a structured questionnaire, data were obtained from a random sample of 231 farmers who had participated in collaborative activities of the CB-IPs. Data were analyzed using partial least squares-structural equation modelling. Findings showed that although farmers' past-experience did not directly influence their WTCP in collaborative activities of CB-IPs, it was positive and significant when mediated by attitudes and perceived behavioural control (t-value = 6.840; p-value = 0.000). Therefore, it can be concluded that farmers' WTCP in collaborative activities of CB-IPs is enhanced by three socio-psychological factors: favourable past-experience, positive attitudes towards collaborative activities of CB-IPs, and farmers' perceived capacity to participate. Hence, conveners of collaborative activities of CB-IPs ought to improve farmers' attitudes through organizing beneficial activities and building their capacity to participate. This study contributed to the body of knowledge by using a behavioural perspective to examine the socio-psychological factors that influence farmers' continued participation in collaboration activities of CB-IPs. Climate change is likely to have significant impacts on the forestry sector in New Zealand. However, an understanding of how forest growers are reducing their risks from climate change impacts is still in its infancy. This paper applies the protection motivation theory to identify socio-psychological factors influencing forest growers' adaptation to climate change. This study presents the survey results from 60 forest growers who have the combined responsibility for managing more than 70% of New Zealand's plantation forests. We investigated whether their perceived response efficacy, self-efficacy and their understanding of response costs are predictors of their protective or adaptive measures. Based on our survey, risk reduction and risk spreading are the two types of protective measure frequently reported by the respondents to deal with climate risks. Consistent with the protection motivation theory, our findings show that respondents who are more likely to implement protective or adaptive measures if they perceive the threat severity to be high have high self-efficacy and resource efficacy, and exhibit low maladaptive responses such as evading and postponing behaviours. Furthermore, our findings also suggest that there is a low self-efficacy belief with strong maladaptive behaviour among the respondents that negatively influence their motivation to implement adaptation measures. This result provides guidance to policy makers, researchers and forest companies on how to make climate change adaptation efforts effective by considering the forest growers motivation to adapt to climate change. Packaging is a key tool to serve as a vehicle for communication between customers and the food industry. The food industry is continually investigating new technologies to improve and promote new food packaging aspects. Currently, nanotechnology has become one of the most promising trends for food packaging. This systematic review aims to elaborate on the scientific research progress of consumer behavior toward nanopackaging. Social and psychological motivations for consumers toward the new trend were discussed. This paper synthesizes various numbers of studies, especially during the digital era of Industry 4.0. The application of nanotechnology for food packaging has led to the development of active, smart, and bioactive nanopackaging, which includes nanoantimicrobials, nanosensors, and nanobarcodes. Studies showed that consumer social and psychological factors influence directly or indirectly the application of nanopackaging. Social norms, social concerns, and social media behavior are the social factors that drive consumer behavior. Moreover, motivation, perception, learning, attitudes and beliefs, personality, and habits are the main psychological factors driving the consumer decision on buying or adopting the new trend in food packaging. The understanding of these social and psychological factors is crucial for manufacturers and governments in developing strategies to alleviate the consumers’ negative feedback and reduce their unfamiliarity with the new trends in food consumption, especially nanopackaging. In the future, efforts supported by scientific evidence should be made to increase the awareness, knowledge and trust of consumers to improve their perception of sustainable packaging solutions.

After the Jakarta government enacted a policy to improve air quality in high-priority areas and established Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in the Kota Tua Tourism Area (KTTA), there is now a plan to replicate this LEZ in other locations. However, the current scale of the LEZ in the KTTA and the ongoing issues with public acceptance, raise the question of how the Jakarta Government effectively replicates this policy in other locations. This study aims to explore the socio-psychological factors that affect acceptability and restriction preference (i.e., type of vehicle and strategies) on LEZ replication in Jakarta. For those purposes, questionnaires were distributed to the commuters in Jakarta, and hierarchical Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and Multinomial Logistics Regression (MNL) were used to analyze the data. The support for LEZ expansion to other locations was found to be shaped by the trust of the government, the level of environmental concern, and personal and social norms concerning LEZ implementation. The perception of the form of full-scale restriction (i.e., combinations of the vehicle types to be restricted and/or the TDM strategies) that should be implemented within the LEZ area is associated with higher acceptability and environmental concern. In connection with the spread of a culture of violence in modern society the problem of aggressive behavior of adolescents takes on new impetus. For a comprehensive consideration of this problem, one should take into account not only the intrapersonal and interpersonal aspects of the personality relations system, but also its relations with the world, which can be expressed in the two forms of the belief in a just world — general belief in a just world and personal belief in a just world. 70 Belarusian and 109 Ukrainian adolescents completed two questionnaires: the Buss–Perry Aggression Questionnaire and the Just World Scale by C. Dalbert. It was found that Belarusian adolescents are characterized by lower aggression compared to Ukrainian ones. The relationship between aggression and the two forms of belief in a just world (general and personal belief in a just world) is negative among Belarusians and Ukrainian adolescents. Belarusian and Ukrainian adolescents on average believe that the world is “rather fair”. This indicates a similar view of the world among adolescents in both cultures.

Introduction. The study sought to reveal socio-psychological factors of successful integration of institutionalized adolescents into mainstream schools. The relevance of the research is determined by the necessity to spread practices of integrating institutionalized children and adolescents into mainstream schools to expand their social experience. Materials and Methods. The purpose of the study was to explore the socio-psychological predictors that determine the successfulness of integration of institutionalized adolescents into mass secondary schools. Among the sociopsychological predictors of integration success, we analyzed the communicative characteristics of adolescents and the specifics of their relations with other subjects of the educational process. The study involved 678 people including students of secondary schools with integration programs, their parents and teachers. The empirical data were collected through questionnaires, expert survey of teachers, and projective drawing with subsequent expert evaluation of the results, as well as testing, including M. Kondash’ Anxiety Scale (to assess the adaptation of orphaned children in school), S. Bratchenko’s methods “Direction of the personal communication”, M. Snyder’s Diagnostics of communicative control (to assess their communicative potential) and J. Moreno’s Sociometry (to assess their place in the system of interpersonal relations with classmates). Results. The results show that about one out of ten institutionalized adolescents successfully integrates into the educational process of mainstream schools, while the others experience difficulties in this process. Significant predictors of successful integration are indicators that characterize the communication skills of institutionalized adolescents, as well as their relationships with “adult” subjects of the educational process (primarily, parents of classmates). The most favorable conditions for the successful integration of institutionalized adolescents into mainstream schools are associated with the first stages of their attendance at a mainstream education institution. Discussion and Conclusion. The findings contribute to social and educational psychology and can be used to develop scientifically-based system of social-psychological support of integration of institutionalized adolescents into mainstream schools, the targets which should be aimed at the development of communicative skills of institutionalized adolescents, and also on formation of system of their relations with other subjects of educational process.

While the total amount of municipal solid waste (MSW) in Dammam city was about 13 million tons in 2013, it is expected to reach about 18.4 million tons in 2025. Although the main problem in Dammam city is an increase in solid waste production without any formal treatment except landfilling, the lack of waste segregation greatly affects the residents’ handling practices of solid waste due to incorrect disposing practices. The objective of this study explored the possibility of Dammam residents’ participation in sorting and recycling to improve MSW handling and to measure the influence of psychological factors which affecting residents’ willingness to participate in waste handling regarding socioeconomic levels and moderating effects. This study also examined various respondents’ perspectives on sorting and recycling sustainable waste and the handling of waste generation. This study covered most Dammam communities, with a gender distribution of 56% males and 44% females and the monthly income ranging from SR700 to SR12,000. The descriptive analysis showed that of the 450 participants, 170 (37.8%) were in the middle-income levels, 199 (44.2%) were in the high-income levels and 81 (18%) were in the low-income levels. The moderating effect of income was observed between attitude and willingness to sort and recycle waste in the low-income levels and high-income levels groups. Additionally, an association was found between market incentives and willingness to sort and recycle waste in the low-income levels and high-income levels groups. The gender status of the participants had a moderating effect on the relationship between market incentives and willingness to sort and recycle waste in males and females. The paper deals with the socio-psychological factors characterizing the trends of consumer ethnocentrism, which are most often used in consumer eccentricity studies, describing the main trends. The main focus is on patriotism, nationalism, conservatism, xenophobia, cultural openness, collectivism, individualism, secularism, offset product preferences. Although a large number of consumer ethnocentric research tools have been developed, practice has shown that the studies lack of the well-defined socio-psychological factors that need to be included in the content of research tools, what would allow to describe the essential conception of consumer cognitive ethnocentrism. The aim of this paper is to identify socio-psychological factors that are commonly used in consumer ethnocentric studies to characterize the underlying trends. The method of work – is systematic comparative analysis of scientific literature. The analysis of scientific literature revealed that in order to purposefully manage consumer etnocentrism, it is important to include socio-psychological factors in empirical research instruments: patriotism, nationalism, conservatism, xenophobia, cultural openness, collectivism, individualism, secularism, preferences for offshore products.

Biosecurity is crucial for infectious disease prevention, more importantly in the absence of vaccination. The need for improving the implementation of biosecurity practices was highlighted in French duck farms following the 2016–2017 H5N8 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) epidemic. Farmers have multiple reasons for not implementing biosecurity practices: external (time, money) and internal (socio‐psychological). The purpose of this study was to determine how sets of socio‐psychological factors (i.e. knowledge on biosecurity and avian influenza transmission, attitudes, personality traits, social background) affect the adoption of on‐farm biosecurity practices. Biosecurity practices and socio‐psychological determinants were assessed during 127 duck farm visits, in South West France, using both questionnaires and on‐farm observations. Factorial analysis of mixed data (FAMD) and hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA) identified three groups of farmers with different socio‐psychological profiles: the first group was characterized by minimal knowledge, negative attitudes towards biosecurity, little social pressure and a low level of conscientiousness. The second group was characterized by more extensive experience in poultry production, higher stress and social pressure. The third group was characterized by less experience in poultry production, better knowledge and positive attitudes towards biosecurity, increased self‐confidence and orientation towards action. The first group had a significantly lower adoption of biosecurity measures than the two other groups. A better understanding of the factors involved in farmers' decision‐making could improve the efficiency of interventions aiming at improving and maintaining the level of on‐farm biosecurity in the duck industry. The severe climate change necessitates the people who live in the flood prone areas, to implement the flood mitigation measures in their communities. There are various factors that influence the uptake of mitigation measures; these factors are very vital in the design of community development plans. This research aims to assess the relationship between sociopsychological factors and the people's uptake of flood mitigation measures in Budalangi, Kenya. The socio-psychological factors include - (1) the perceived self-efficacy, (2) the flood experience, (3) the perceived response cost, (4) the worry, and (5) the perceived flood consequences. Primary data was obtained from one hundred households in Budalangi through face-to-face interviews. The statistical analysis and Spearman correlation test were employed for evaluating the interviewed data. The analysis results revealed that the uptake of mitigation measures is greatly affected by the self-efficacy. The flood experience and worry contribute moderate and weak positive influences, respectively. The perceived response cost has negative influences. The perceived consequence is statistically insignificant factor. The identified barriers of mitigation schemes implementation include - incentive, financial issue, lack of technology, communication and information transferred. These impediments required immediate attentions to improve the mitigation management at household's level. • The intention-to-eat insect-based model was measured using an integrated method. • Individuals concerned about environmental issues are more open to eating insects. • Consumers who believe that insects are treated ethically show a higher IEIBF. • Neophilia is a key driver to eating insect-based foods. This research explored the role of key socio-psychological dimensions on individuals' intention to eat insect-based foods (IEIBF). In particular, the theoretical framework included biospheric values and social norms, whose impact on pro-environmental choices has been largely evidenced, but also those factors related to animal welfare and neophobia/neophilia attitudes. An online survey was carried out in different Italian regions intercepting 1402 individuals to verify the relationships predicted by our proposed model, i.e. the Integrated Sustainable Neophilic Insect-based Eating Model (ISNIEM), for predicting IEIBF. Participants completed a survey containing measures of IEIBF, biospheric values, general pro-environmental beliefs, attitude toward sustainability, food neophilia, concern for insect welfare, and social norms (both injunctive and descriptive). Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) technique was used for testing the ISNIEM. The main findings show that individuals having higher concern about environmental and ethical sustainability are more open to eating insects, especially if the latter are treated ethically. Overall, these results suggest that a typical consumer of insect foods is likely to be driven to their consumption from one side by curiosity (related to the neophilia dimension), and from the other side either by the sense of responsibility towards the environment or by the concern for ethical issues (i.e., animal welfare). The conservation of pollinators requires social understanding to catalyse restoration action. Citizen science (CS) is discussed as a way to promote interest and action for pollinating insects. Yet, the drivers behind pro-pollinator behaviour are largely unclear, especially in urban areas. To better understand public engagement in pollinator conservation, we studied urban community gardeners’ identity, nature-relatedness, emotions, and attitudes toward pollinators and their intentions to get involved in pro-pollinator behaviour in their gardening practice. We surveyed community gardeners in Berlin and Munich, Germany, some of which were participating in a citizen science project. In this scientific study, we created four different sets of generalized linear models to analyse how the gardeners’ pro-pollinator behaviour intentions and behaviour were explained by socio-psychological factors. The responses of 111 gardeners revealed that gardeners that were fascinated by pollinators, held positive attitudes and felt joy about seeing pollinators reported intentions to protect or support pollinators, suggesting that fascination and joy can be harnessed for research and conservation on pollinators. Similarly, joy about seeing pollinators predicted participation in the CS project. We believe that CS may represent a pathway through which urban residents may become key actors in conservation projects within their nearby greenspaces.

Based on a conceptual model and an extensive literature review, a survey among retail investors of renewable energy projects in Germany was conducted and compared to existing population samples using logistic regressions and factor analysis. This research finds that the typical retail investor in renewable energy in Germany is more likely to be male with a higher income, to have a higher education, and to live in a more rural area compared with the overall population. The typical investor exhibits strong proenvironmental beliefs and behaviors as well as a predisposition for active citizenship. Furthermore, getting a form of non-financial or “psychic return” from the investment seems to be important for the investment decision. Strategic adaptions for public and private actors to increase retail investment in renewable energy are discussed.

The presented study explored the patients' perspectives and experiences regarding the cause of illness (etiology) and mode of onset. The study aimed to understand the socio-psychological factors that lead to certain decisions in terms of reaching the health facility for diagnosis and treatment. The study used the theoretical framework of patients' explanatory model of Arthur Kleinman (1978). The study was conducted in Chak 104 North Bound Sargodha by using District Health Information System. The above mentioned locale was found to have most number of diabetics without any outreach. An in-depth interview guide was designed based on preliminary field work and informal interviews with the registered patients in the catchment area of Rural Health Center (RHC) Chak 104 NB. The in-depth interviews were conducted with (N=71) adherent and non-adherent male and female diabetic individuals. The study found that most of the respondents related their illness with trauma, tragic episode(s) and experiencing grief and sadness. Respondents related the cause of diabetes with the death of a family member, downfall in business and experience of certain domestic and financial issues. The findings of the current study are consistent with various studies references, and it has implications for the stakeholders and primary health care providers the perceptions and experiences of the diabetics for capacity building and contextualizing the diabetes care in the rural areas of Punjab, Pakistan. We build a model of consumers' payment behaviour that includes socio-psychological factors and test it empirically by focussing on the choice between cash and electronic payments in the Netherlands. Our model outperforms the traditional model used to explain payment usage. Moreover, we provide useful insights for those who want to understand and steer payment behaviour. How consumers actually pay mainly depends on how they intend to pay and their payment habits. Attitudes, feelings and perceived best-suited payment behaviour are key factors related to payment intentions. Social norms and perceived control over the payment instrument choice matter too. Improving farmers' adaptation behaviour against specific climate change threats has been a global concern. The extant literature on farmers' adaptation to soil salinity threat has mainly focused on socioeconomic factors, with less emphasis on socio-psychological factors. This study analyses the socio-psychological factors that explain farmers' intention to adapt to soil salinity using the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT), structural equation modelling approach and a primary data collected on 288 farm households in Fimela district in Senegal. The results indicated that 74.8% of the farmers used organic and chemical fertilizers, and 19.8% used afforestation as climate change adaptation strategies against soil salinity threats. The results further revealed that threat and coping appraisals and subjective norms were the main socio-psychological factors that influenced farmers' intention to adapt to soil salinity threats. Contrary to our expectation, maladaptive coping had no relationship with farmers' intention to adapt against soil salinity threats in Fimela. This study has highlighted the importance of Protection Motivation Theory as a robust conceptual framework for explaining the socio-psychological adaptive behaviour of smallholder farmers against soil salinity expansion due to climate change. ● Most smallholder farmers in Fimela use climate change adaptation strategies against soil salinity. ● The farmers in Fimela use fertilizer and afforestation as climate change adaptation strategies against soil salinity. ● Threat appraisal, coping appraisal, and subjective norms affect farmers intention to adapt to soil salinity. ● Maladaptive norms have no relationships with farmers' intention to adapt to soil salinity. The article presents a retrospective analysis of medical records of 192 patients with suicide attempts who were treated in somatopsychology department for surgical patients in Scientific Research Institute of Emergency Care named after N.V. Sklifosovsky. The sample consisted of 64% men and 36% women. Most patients didn’t have higher education (82%), were not married (71%), and were in active working age from 15 to 45 years old (74%). The analysis of the medical records revealed that most patients were diagnosed with affective and personality disorder (56%), suffered from addiction and consumed alcohol and drugs regularly (11%), gave themselves stab and incision wounds of different localization (74%), a lot of them had hepatitis C virus (65%). Exasperation of severity of their mental state and growth of psychological and social maladjustment of patients after the initial auto-aggressive action often act as the factors of repetitive and multiple suicide attempts. We conclude that it is necessary to create special centers for the rehabilitation of patients who committed a suicide attempt and for the prevention of repeated auto-aggressive actions based on the model of centers of dialectical behavioral therapy, which provide specialized care for patients with chronic suicidal behavior.

Due to the short life-spans of mobile phones, materials are wasted and the degradation of the environment from mineral mining increases. We examine the relationship between the socio-psychological factors that affect the status in four phases of a model of behavioural change (predecision, preaction, action, postaction) with regard to postponed purchases of a new mobile phone by using an ordered logit approach. Representative data from 1818 residents of the city of Lucerne, Switzerland, were collected. The empirical results indicate that the significant effects of socio-psychological factors on phase affiliation provide an orientation framework for the design of interventions. There is evidence that influencing perceived behavioural control to increase affiliation to higher phases by inter alia longer battery life spans, fewer updates that slow down the system, and extended options for repair and maintenance to extend the longevity of the mobile phone. Mitigating greenhouse gas emissions is an essential element of climate change policies. This paper explores Dutch dairy farmers' adoption behaviour of climate change mitigation measures using a Self-regulated Stage model of Behavioural Change. It tests the statistical relationship of stage-specific socio-psychological factors with individual farmer's intentions of planning or adopting on-farm climate mitigation measures. In addition, it tests the statistical relationship of intentions on four stages (pre-decisional, pre-actional, actional, post-actional). The empirical application focuses on data from specialised Dutch dairy farmers registered with the Farm Accountancy Data Network. Our findings suggest that negative emotion, personal norm, perceived goal feasibility, action planning, and coping planning vary significantly by stage. Furthermore, personal norm, attitude, goal intention, behavioural intention, and implementation intention are found to be statistically significant and positive influencing factors on adopting climate mitigation measures. Lastly, farmers younger than 45 years old with full agricultural education and farms with high livestock density are more likely to have taken steps in adopting mitigation measures.
