Inspiracija za diplomsko delo izhaja iz kalejdoskopa in simetričnih oblik, ki nastajajo v njem. V diplomskem delu je opisan proces oblikovanja in izdelave ženske kolekcije oblačil z elementi kalejdoskopa. V teoretičnem delu sem raziskovala sodobno modo in fuzijo med različnimi stili. Predstavila sem primere s podobno inspiracijo v modnem svetu. Opisala pa sem tudi računalniški program Tuxpi, s katerim sem klasične kose oblačil, kot so srajce, suknjiči in plašči, spremenila v simetrične vzorce, ki jih tvori kalejdoskop. V eksperimentalnem delu sem predstavila kolekcijo Kalejdoskop, barvno paleto kolekcije, uporabljene materiale in začetne kolaže. Prikazala sem proces od nastalih vzorcev po vzoru kalejdoskopa do tehničnih rešitev silhuet. Izdelani kosi pa so prikazani tudi s tehničnimi skicami ter fotografijami. Končni rezultat diplomskega dela je sodobna ženska kolekcija s pravilnimi simetričnimi kroji, ki ponazarjajo pogled skozi luknjo kalejdoskopa. The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to design women’s wear with kaleidoscope as inspiration. The inspiration for the collection came from the kaleidoscope and symmetric shapes that it makes. The theoretical part presents modern fashion and fusion between different styles. Following is research of already existing collections with the same inspiration. In this part, I also described computer program Tuxpi that helped me create kaleidoscope photos of pre-existing clothes such as blouses, blazers and coats. In the experimental part, I presented the Kaleidoscope collection, the colour palette of the collection, the materials used and the initial collages. I have shown the process from the pictures I created following the example of a kaleidoscope to the technical solutions of silhouettes. Final pieces are also shown in technical sketches and photographs. The final result of this diploma thesis is a women’s collection inspired by the symmetry of kaleidoscope reflections.

V magistrskem delu z naslovom Razvoj kolekcije oblačil in tekstilne instalacije AJDEK po spominih iz otroštva sem prikazala celoten proces, od začetne inspiracije do končne zasnove modne kolekcije oblačil ter umetniške instalacije. Namen magistrskega dela je bil oblikovati kolekcijo tekstilij in jih nato nadgraditi v tekstilno instalacijo. Raziskovala sem predvsem različne možnosti interpretacij po spominih razvitih tekstilij. Usmerila sem se predvsem v dva različna, a hkrati eksistencialno povezana sklopa, ki se dotikata tekstilne umetnosti 'od blizu' in 'od daleč'. Ob procesu snovanja instalacije sem iz tekstilij oblikovala tudi sodobno žensko kolekcijo oblačil in dodatkov, v kateri se prepletata eksperimentalni in pret-a-porter princip. V teoretičnem delu sem raziskovala psihološke in filozofske poglede na spomine. Podrobneje sem raziskala, kako otroški spomini zaznamujejo in oblikujejo posameznika in spoznanja utemeljila na lastnem primeru. Raziskala sem tudi kako občutki in spomini vplivajo na ustvarjanje in dojemanje samih tekstilij ter širše umetnosti. Opisala sem tudi instalacijo umetniško smer konceptualne umetnosti ter predstavila sodobne umetnike in oblikovalce, ki ustvarjajo s tekstilnimi mediji. V eksperimentalnem delu sem predstavila inspiracijo in proces nastanka tekstilij in jih tudi podrobneje opisala. Predstavljeni so uporabljeni materiali in tehnološka izvedba. V sklepni fazi eksperimentalnega dela sem se lotila načrta instalacije, ki obsega tri sklope. Podrobneje sem predstavila zasnovo in namen vsakega sklopa v instalaciji. Prikazan je tudi proces nastanka ženske kolekcije oblačil, od inspiracije pa do končne izvedbe. Končni rezultat magistrske naloge je torej umetniška instalacija, ki jo spremlja kapsulna kolekcija oblačil. In the thesis titled Developing a fashion collection and textile installation AJDEK inspired by childhood memories, I presented the whole process, from inspiration to the stage of final design and articulation of textile installation and fashion collection. The purpose of my master’s thesis was to design a collection of textiles that I have formed into a tex- tile installation. During the process of developing the installation, I have enhanced my master’s thesis with the designing of a contemporary women’s collection of clothing and accessories, which intertwines the experimental and pret-a-porter concept. In the theoretical part, I have explored the psychological and philosophical aspects of memories. I have researched how memories define and shape individuals and revealed these insights on my own example. I have also presented how feelings and memories affect creativity and human perception of art and textiles. This is followed by the pres- entation of Installation part of conceptual art. I have also presented contemporary art- ists and designers that are working with textiles. In the experimental part, I presented the inspiration and process of forming the textiles. This is followed by a detailed description of materials and technology. In the final stage of the experimental practice, I presented the textile installation layout which is formed of three sets. All of those are presented in details and so is the purpose of each set and element in the installation. I have also presented the process of designing a female fashion collection, from initial inspiration to final garments. The final result of the master’s thesis is, therefore, an art installation, accompanied by a capsule collection of clothes.

Namen diplomske naloge je bil oblikovati sodobno žensko kolekcijo z inspiracijo v ročnih tehnikah. Inspiracija je izhajala iz prepleta niti pri pletenih košarah, kar je vodilo do raziskave in eksperimentiranja s tehniko ročnega tkanja. V teoretičnem delu sem temeljito raziskala tehniko tkanja, njeno zgodovino in razvoj ter uporabo ročnega tkanja v sodobnem življenju in modnih kolekcijah. Prav tako sem proučila razvoj digitalnega tiska in laserskega izreza ter njuno uporabo v sodobnih kolekcijah. V eksperimentalnem delu je predstavljen celoten proces razvoja kolekcije z izhodiščem v ročnem tkanju. Pojasnila sem, kako sem prišla do končne, uporabljene tehnike in kako sem jo vključila v samo kolekcijo. Razložen je tudi celoten proces izbiranja barv in materialov. The objective of my thesis was to design a modern women’s collection, inspired by handweaving techniques. The inspiration came from the interlaced threads in weave baskets and led to research and experiments with the handweaving technique. Theoretical part of the thesis thoroughly explains the weaving technique, its history and development and its usage in the modern world, especially in fashion. I explored the development of digital printing and laser cutting and their usage in the modern fashion collections. Experimental part represents the whole process of designing a collection based on a handwoven texture. It explains the methods that led to the chosen technique and its integration into the collection. It also elaborates the process of choosing colours and materials.

V diplomskem delu z naslovom Oblikovanje kolekcije Pošasti sem prikazala celoten oblikovalski proces, od začetne inspiracije do končne predstavitve kolekcije. Namen diplomskega dela je bil oblikovati sodobno žensko kolekcijo, ki povezuje različne zna- čilnosti afriške in kanadske kulture. V teoretičnem delu sem raziskovala splošne značilnosti afriških in kanadskih ljudstev in njihovo kulturo. Podrobneje sem raziskala tudi raznolikosti in podobnosti njihovih oblačil. Kot skupno značilnost sem raziskala različne ročne tehnike, ki sem jih nato tudi sama uporabila v svoji kolekciji. Celotno kolekcijo spremlja trajnostni vidik, in sicer je v nekatera oblačila vključen proces recikliranja. Predstavila sem tudi barvno paleto ko- lekcije z uporabljenimi materiali in vzorce, ki sem jih digitalno oblikovala. Opisala sem tudi ciljno skupino, kateri je namenjena dotična kolekcija. V eksperimentalnem delu sem predstavila kolekcijo Pošasti, ki se opira na afriška in kanadska ljudstva in ročne tehnike predstavljene v teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge. Skozi proces nastajanja kolekcije sem se trudila prikazati svojo interpretacijo predsta- vljenih ljudstev. Končni rezultat diplomske naloge je ženska kolekcija, v kateri se prepletata eksperi- mentalni in pret-a-porter koncept. In the thesis titled Designing collection Monsters, I presented the whole designing process, starting with inspiration and describing it through to the nal product. The aim of the thesis was to design contemporary women’s collection which connects main African and Canadian features. In the theoretical part, I have researched main cultural characteristics of African and Canadian tribes, explored and presented their clothes, and pointed out their similari- ties and differences. I have also presented different hand techniques, colour and fabric palettes and illustrated some digital patterns. There is an aspect of sustainability incorporated in the collection, as a form of recycling. In the experimental part, I described the whole process of designing the collection Monsters, which is based on presented tribes and different hand techniques. Through this process, I tried to show my visual interpretation of those cultures. The main goal of the thesis was to create women’s collection where experimental concept intertwines with pret-a-porter.

Namen diplomskega dela je oblikovati žensko kolekcijo oblačil, dodatkov in tekstilnega nakita. Osrednji vir inspiracije koncepta kolekcije je ideja človeškega ega, o katerem piše in uči duhovni voditelj Eckart Tolle. Inspiracija barv in materialov izhaja iz slik ekspresionističnega slikarja Egona Schieleja. S kolekcijo sem želela predstaviti preplet nakita in oblačil. V teoretičnem delu sem raziskovala zgodovino, razvoj in pomen nakita, odnos nakita in oblačil ter predstavila nekatere ključne sodobne oblikovalce tekstilnega nakita. Nakit je v človeškem življenju prisoten že od prazgodovine. Tekom stoletij so se pomen, dizajn in tehnike izdelave nakita razvijale in spreminjale skladno z razvijajočo se kulturo. V 2. polovici 20. stoletja so oblikovalci nakita začeli raziskovati nove materiale, tehnike in stile. Danes se oblikovanje nakita širi v različne smeri umetnosti. V praktičnem delu je predstavljena ženska kolekcija oblačil, dodatkov in tekstilnega nakita z naslovom EGOn. EGOn se konceptualno opira na duhovnost Eckharta Tolleja in ekspresionističnega slikarja Egona Schieleja. Poudarek kolekcije je na ročnih tehnikah, ki simbolizirajo nakit, in preprostih, a močnih silhuetah. Pomembno vlogo v kolekciji imajo tudi zanimive kombinacije barv in materialov. Ženska kolekcija EGOn je oblikovana za čutno žensko, ki z oblačili govori zgodbo. Za žensko, ki se z oblačili ne zakriva, ampak odkriva svoj jaz. The goal of the degree thesis is to design a collection of women’s clothing, accessories and textile jewellery. The central inspirational source of the collection concept is the idea of the human ego described and taught by the spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle. The inspiration of colours and materials originates in the paintings of the expressionist painter Egon Schiele. The aim of my collection has been to represent the intertwining of the jewellery and clothing. In the theoretical section, I researched the history, development and significance of the jewellery, the mutual relation of the jewellery and clothing and I introduced some of the most important contemporary textile jewellery designers. Jewellery has been present in the human lives since the prehistoric times. In the course of centuries, the significance, design and jewellery fabrication techniques have been developing and changing in accordance with the developing culture. In the second half of the 20th century, the jewellery designers embarked on the research of new materials, techniques and styles. Nowadays, the jewellery design is expanding into various art directions. The practical section introduces EGOn, the women’s collection of clothing, accessories and jewellery. EGOn’s concept draws on Eckhart Tolle’s spirituality and the expressionist painter Egon Schiele. The collection emphasizes the manual techniques symbolizing the jewellery and simple, yet strong silhouettes. Interesting combinations of colours and materials play an important role in this collection as well. The women’s collection EGOn is designed for a sensual woman whose clothes tell her story. For a woman who does not hide behind her attire but reveals her inner self.
