FEASST is an open-source Monte Carlo software package for particle-based simulations. This software, which was released in 2017, has been used to study phase equilibrium, self-assembly, aggregation or gelation in biological materials, colloids, polymers, ionic liquids, and adsorption in porous networks. We highlight some of the unique features available in FEASST, such as flat-histogram grand canonical ensemble, Gibbs ensemble, and Mayer-sampling simulations with support for anisotropic models and parallelization with flat-histogram and prefetching. We also discuss how the challenges of supporting a variety of Monte Carlo algorithms were overcome by an object-oriented design. This also allows others to extend classes, which improves software interoperability, as inspired by LAMMPS classes and user packages. This article describes version 0.25.1 with benchmarks, compilation instructions, and introductory tutorials for running, restarting, and testing simulations, user guidelines, software design strategies, alternative interfaces, and the test-driven development strategy. Atomic-scale simulations have progressed tremendously over the past decade, largely thanks to the availability of machine-learning interatomic potentials. These potentials combine the accuracy of electronic structure calculations with the ability to reach extensive length and time scales. The i-PI package facilitates integrating the latest developments in this field with advanced modeling techniques thanks to a modular software architecture based on inter-process communication through a socket interface. The choice of Python for implementation facilitates rapid prototyping but can add computational overhead. In this new release, we carefully benchmarked and optimized i-PI for several common simulation scenarios, making such overhead negligible when i-PI is used to model systems up to tens of thousands of atoms using widely adopted machine learning interatomic potentials, such as Behler–Parinello, DeePMD, and MACE neural networks. We also present the implementation of several new features, including an efficient algorithm to model bosonic and fermionic exchange, a framework for uncertainty quantification to be used in conjunction with machine-learning potentials, a communication infrastructure that allows for deeper integration with electronic-driven simulations, and an approach to simulate coupled photon-nuclear dynamics in optical or plasmonic cavities. MiMiC is a framework for performing multiscale simulations in which loosely coupled external programs describe individual subsystems at different resolutions and levels of theory. To make it highly efficient and flexible, we adopt an interoperable approach based on a multiple-program multiple-data (MPMD) paradigm, serving as an intermediary responsible for fast data exchange and interactions between the subsystems. The main goal of MiMiC is to avoid interfering with the underlying parallelization of the external programs, including the operability on hybrid architectures (e.g., CPU/GPU), and keep their setup and execution as close as possible to the original. At the moment, MiMiC offers an efficient implementation of electrostatic embedding quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) that has demonstrated unprecedented parallel scaling in simulations of large biomolecules using CPMD and GROMACS as QM and MM engines, respectively. However, as it is designed for high flexibility with general multiscale models in mind, it can be straightforwardly extended beyond QM/MM. In this article, we illustrate the software design and the features of the framework, which make it a compelling choice for multiscale simulations in the upcoming era of exascale high-performance computing. Digital heritage portal interfaces are generally similar to digital library and search engine interfaces in displaying search results as a list of brief metadata records. The knowledge organization and search result display of these systems are item-centric, with little support for identifying relationships between items. This paper proposes a knowledge graph system and visualization interface as a promising solution for digital heritage systems to support users in browsing related items, understanding the relationships between items, and synthesizing a narrative on an issue. The paper discusses design issues for the knowledge graph, graph database, and graph visualization, and offers recommendations based on the authors' experience in developing three knowledge graph systems for archive and digital humanities resources: the Zubir Said personal archive collection at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore; Singapore Pioneers social network; and Polyglot Medicine knowledge graph of Asian traditional and herbal medicine. In public libraries, especially those in rural settings, it is important that every dime of library funding is leveraged effectively into serving the community. As part of a year-long project beginning in January 2023, we are evaluating item-level cost-effectiveness for each circulating item housed at the public library in Lakeville, Indiana. Through the use of big(ish) data, some custom Python scripting, and machine learning algorithms we hope to answer: How much money is saved by library patrons through their use of the public library's physical collection? How much money is saved by the community through the operation of a public library based on the use of the circulating collection? And are there any non-obvious traits which make an item or title a more or less cost-effective circulating asset? In terms of utility and technical quality, open-source software solutions have become a common option for many libraries. As barriers to adoption have been reduced and systems such as FOLIO appear poised to change the landscape of LIS technology, it is worth examining how the use of open source can support the normative core values of librarianship and to outline a strategy for critical engagement with the technology that is beneficial to patrons and libraries. Purpose: To investigate cytokine levels in peri-implant crevicular fluid and thus evaluate the effects of concentrated growth factor (CGF) on osseointegration. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 mandibular implants were symmetrically placed in a group of 20 systemically healthy patients enrolled in the study. In each patient, one implant wetted with liquid infiltrated from fibrin matrix was placed in the test side (Group L), and the other implant was placed in the control side without the application of any material (Group C). Peri-implant crevicular fluid was collected at 2, 4, and 12 weeks later. Marginal bone loss was measured with panoramic radiographs taken immediately after implant placement and at 12 weeks. Resonance frequency analysis (RFA) of the implants was performed intraoperatively and at 4 and 12 weeks. Results: Stability values of the implants in the CGF liquid–treated sites were higher than those of the control group at week 12 (P = .005). There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of marginal bone loss (MBL). Group L showed increased levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL) at 2 and 4 weeks. Also, levels of osteoprotegerin (OPG) were higher in Group L at week 4 compared to Group C (P = .033). Conclusions: The increased TNF-α, RANKL, and OPG levels in this study demonstrate that CGF liquid can be used to accelerate peri-implant bone remodeling in the early phase of osseointegration. This study discusses the importance of the DSpace open-source software that supports numerous digital libraries and repositories around the world. With the release of DSpace version 7, a natural question that arises is whether the new version offers enough new functionalities to motivate system administrators to upgrade. This paper briefly describes the most important changes, including new features and bug fixes, included in DSpace 7.4 and prior minor versions. The next parts of this paper explore our estimate that there are several thousand DSpace-based systems globally that will likely have to be upgraded in the near future. The main reason for this need is that older versions of DSpace (including 5.x) have reached the end of their developer support period or are reaching it in mid-2023. Based on our own upgrade experience, we propose suggestions and recommendations on migrating from the previous DSpace 6.3-based environment to the new one in a case study that concludes this article. Universities and scientific educational institutions today need targeted information services to ensure that their user communities have the information they need. This study aims to design, develop, implement, and evaluate a mobile application for academic library services at Tarbiat Modares University (Tehran, Iran). A four-stage process was utilized to accomplish this aim. In the first phase, relevant literature was reviewed to obtain appropriate data requirements for the app. A questionnaire was designed and administered to survey expert librarians on the most suitable data requirements. The second phase involved the design of the user interface and user experience with the assistance of experts, followed by the evaluation of the experience. The third phase involved the development of the app in the Android Studio environment using the Java programming language, based on the requirements identified in the first and second phases. The app was then made available to the user community. Finally, the app was evaluated in the fourth phase using a questionnaire tool. The software Defect Prediction (SDP) model uses previously learned data to predict whether a future example (such as a file, class, or module) will be defective or not. Accurate forecast results can help software testers arrange testing resources more efficiently. Nonetheless, there are still difficulties in more exact and reliable defect predictions. This study presents the SDP-CMPOA framework, which stands for Software Defect Prediction Crossover with Brownian Motion-based Pelican Optimization Algorithm. The stages of the approach are pre-processing, feature extraction, feature selection, and detection. The preprocessing stage involves improved data normalization. Higher-order statistical features, enhanced statistical features, and raw features are all taken from the pre-processed data. The primary barrier to precise software defect detection and hence adhering to the ideal feature selection method will be the curse of dimensionality. This research proposes a novel Crossover with the Brownian motion-based Pelican Optimization Algorithm for selecting the best features (CMPOA). Finally, hybrid classifiers like Improved Bidirectional Long Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM and) Deep Max out models are employed for defect prediction. The classifier analysis of KCI/SDP dataset accuracy of the projected model is 9.17%, 9.6%, 7.20%, 13.3%, and 5.7% better than the other methods such as DBN, SVM, CNN, RF, RNN, and SDP- CMPOA respectively at the 60th learning percentage. In 2016, the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health initiative assisted the Philippine Statistical Authority in implementing Iris, an automated coding software program that enables medical death certificates to be coded according to international standards. Iris was implemented to improve the quality, timeliness, and consistency of coded data as part of broader activities to strengthen the country's civil registration and vital statistics system. This study was conducted as part of the routine implementation of Iris to ensure that automatically coded cause of death data was of sufficient quality to be released and disseminated as national mortality statistics. Data from medical death certificates coded with Iris between 2017 and 2019 were analysed and evaluated for apparent errors and inconsistencies, and trends were examined for plausibility. Cause-specific mortality distributions were calculated for each of the 3 years and compared for consistency, and annual numeric and percentage changes were calculated and compared for all age groups. The typology, reasons, and proportions of records that could not be coded (Iris 'rejects') were also studied. Overall, the study found that the Philippine Statistical Authority successfully operates Iris. The cause-specific mortality fractions for the 20 leading causes of death showed reassuring stability after the introduction of Iris, and the type and proportion of rejects were similar to international experience. Broadly, this study demonstrates how an automated coding system can improve the accuracy and timeliness of cause of death data—providing critical country experiences to help build the evidence base on the topic. This paper introduces an enhancement to an existing microservice-based cloud architecture, aimed at effectively managing the inherent complexity within this field. The enhanced architecture seamlessly integrates various equipment types and communication technologies, aligning diverse stakeholder expectations into a unified system that ensures efficient and accurate calibration processes. It highlights the integration of microservices to facilitate various methods of uncertainty calculation and the generation of digital calibration certificates (DCCs). A case study on RF power measurement illustrates the practical application and benefits of the enhanced architecture. Although initially focused on RF power measurement, the flexible architecture allows for future expansions to accommodate new standards and measurement techniques. Steel structures are invariably analyzed and designed excluding the global stiffening effect of the roof cladding. Including this effect historically required complex design methods or deprecated standards. This paper presents a simplified numerical modeling method which allows this stiffening effect to be included. The method is an extension of the already established Component Method but utilizes only elements commonly available in typical design and analysis software. The results of the models were favorably compared to standardized test cases; an average difference of 0.24 mm maximum displacement was found, corresponding to a 3.4% discrepancy. The consistency of these results implies that the proposed model can be considered to be used for scientific and practical purposes when assessing a building's most realistic behavior is necessary. In the field of human-computer interaction, deformable user interfaces are gaining more attention. Gestures performed by bending the deformable device are commonly investigated in the literature. These bend gestures' inherent tactile and kinaesthetic feedback and their association with spatial directions benefit both blind and low vision (BLV) and sighted users. Bend gestures are naturally associated with two descriptors of bend, which are location and direction. One potential opportunity to extend this gesture space is to investigate additional descriptors of bend gestures without introducing new locations. In this context, size and angle are the two common additional descriptors of bend gestures. In this work, we conducted two (preliminary and main) studies to investigate BLV and sighted users' performance and preference for multiple magnitude levels of size and angle of bend on a smartphone-sized deformable prototype. Aim: To investigate the effect of a nurse support using a proactive mobile app to enhance parental self‐efficacy in symptom management for children with medical complexity. Design: A single‐blinded, randomized controlled trial with a two‐armed repeated measures design. Methods: Eligible parents and the children will be recruited from the special schools and non‐government offices. They will be randomly assigned either to the intervention or control groups. Subjects in the study group will receive nurse parental support using a symptom management mobile app for 3 months. The control group will receive the usual care that is available in the community. Data will be collected pre‐intervention (T1), immediately after the intervention (T2), and three‐month after intervention (T3). The primary outcome is parental self‐efficacy. The secondary outcomes include child's symptom burden and their health service utilization. Primary outcome will be compared across two groups in T2 and T3 using with control for the pre‐test value of parental self‐efficacy. Generalized estimating equation (GEE) will be used to address secondary objectives from T1 to T3 with appropriate link function. Discussion: As a result of the successful implementation of this nurse‐led symptom management, parental self‐efficacy will be enhanced. Both the symptoms reported by the children and their health service utilization will be reduced. Findings of this study will help in service delivery improvements because it maximizes the availability and accessibility of paediatric health service to parents and the children in local communities. Impact: The evidence produced in this study will enlarge the knowledge base that supports evidence‐based paediatric home nursing service with the use of health technology in symptom management. Aim: To systemically identify and synthesize information on health professionals' and students' perceptions regarding the development needs of incident reporting software. Design: A systematic review of qualitative studies. Data Sources: A database search was conducted using Medline, CINAHL, Scopus, Web of Science and Medic without time or language limits in February 2023. Review methods: A total of 4359 studies were identified. Qualitative studies concerning the perceptions of health professionals and students regarding the development needs of incident reporting software were included, based on screening and critical appraisal by two independent reviewers. A thematic synthesis was conducted. Results: From 10 included studies, five analytical themes were analysed. Health professionals and students desired the following improvements or changes to incident reporting software: (1) the design of reporting software, (2) the anonymity of reporting, (3) the accessibility of reporting software, (4) the classification of fields and answer options and (5) feedback and tracking of reports. Wanted features included suitable reporting forms for various specialized fields that could be integrated into existing hospital information systems. Rapid, user‐friendly reporting software using multiple reporting platforms and with flexible fields and predefined answer options was preferred. While anonymous reporting was favoured, the idea of reporting serious incidents with both patient and reporter names was also suggested. Conclusion: Health professionals and students provided concrete insights into the development needs for reporting software. Considering the underreporting of healthcare cases, the perspectives of healthcare professionals must be considered while developing user‐friendly reporting tools. IRNSS/NavIC is an independent navigation system developed by India. The dependence on external satellite-based navigation systems is gradually decreasing as a result of the deployment of our own navigation system, IRNSS/NavIC, which exhibits enhanced reliability. In this paper, a software-based IRNSS/NavIC receiver is developed using the standard Signal-In-Space Interface Control Document as a reference for signal structure, subframe patterns and parameter calculations. The IRNSS/NavIC receiver is validated with the I/Q data file as input which is generated by software based IRNSS/NavIC simulator. Analysis of the effect of a specific error on receiver output position necessitates repeated trials and modification, or in some cases, the development of new algorithms. The intermediate stage data can be viewed or stored as needed; a few examples are provided. In this paper Squared Correlators Code Discriminator (SCCD), a new multipath mitigation method has been designed and developed for IRNSS/NavIC receiver. The SCCD method is derived from Strobe Correlator (SC) and Combination of squared correlator method (CSC). The pseudorange bias is investigated and eliminated from the SCCD approach. Interoperability plays a crucial role in facilitating seamless data sharing across system boundaries, necessitating collaborative efforts among multiple systems. To achieve this, the presence of a common reference model for data exchange and dedicated interfaces is essential. However, the current state of Health Information Systems (HIS) often falls short in providing effective design elements that enable smooth and continuous data exchange across diverse domains. To address this challenge, a comprehensive investigation of the technical, syntactic, semantic, and other important aspects of interoperability interfaces is necessary, both in theory and practice. This article aims to address the design challenges associated with interoperability interfaces in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. We commence by establishing theoretical guidelines that serve as foundation for designing effective interfaces. These guidelines encompass key considerations for the usability of interoperability interfaces, such as importing and exporting data of EMRs. Building upon this theoretical framework, we evaluate the interoperability interfaces within OpenMRS, a widely used EMR system. By aligning the evaluations with the established theoretical guidelines, we propose a set of generic interoperability interfaces designed to enhance the seamless exchange of data across different domains. To assess their usability, we employ a predictive usability inspection, providing valuable insights into the practical aspects of these interfaces. Through this research, we aim to contribute to the improvement of interoperability interfaces in EMR systems, bridging the gap between theoretical guidelines and practical implementation. By addressing the design challenges, conducting evaluations, and proposing interoperability interfaces, we strive to enhance data exchange design and promote a more integrated and collaborative healthcare system. In order to meet the requirements of antenna for high bearing capacity, high positioning accuracy and speed stability of the test turntable, a test turntable with simple operation is designed. First of all, the structure of the turntable is introduced. The turntable adopts the form of gear transmission and multi-turn absolute encoder angle measurement. The mechanical simulation analysis of the turntable table is carried out, and the static performance and modal characteristics of the turntable are analyzed. Then, the servo control system of the turntable is introduced. The multi-turn absolute encoder is used as the detection element of the actual position of the turntable. The target position is sent to the controller by the upper computer through the serial port. The controller uses the field programmable logic gate array (FPGA) as the core, and the encoder, controller and control object constitute the position loop; In the software design, the fuzzy PID algorithm is used to replace the traditional PID algorithm. Finally, the turntable accuracy test platform is built, and the autocollimator and polyhedral prism are used to obtain the angle measurement error. The test results show that the control accuracy is better than ±0.01°, the system position accuracy is better than 2.5', and the turntable positioning accuracy and rotational speed stability have been effectively improved. Most occupational hazardous agents in workplaces should be evaluated and controlled. Different methods exist for identifying, evaluating and controlling these agents, such as numerical simulation tools. Numerical simulations can help experts to improve occupational health. Due to the importance and abilities of numerical simulations, this study divided occupational hazardous agents into 10 subgroups. These subgroups included air pollution, ventilation, respiratory airways, noise and vibration, lighting, radiation, ergonomics, fire and explosion, risk assessment and personal protective equipment. Recent research studies in each subgroup were then reviewed, and the codes and software used in simulations were determined. The results show that Fluent software and k–ϵ turbulence models are the most used in occupational health studies simulations. Critical systems, in which failure and malfunction may result in severe human, environmental, and financial damages, are essential components in various sectors and particularly in energy domains. Although undesirable, integration error problems in the supervision of critical systems do occur, incurring significant expenses due to an operator's subjective analysis and hardware topology failures. In this work, a malleable model design approach is proposed to formulate and solve the integration error problem in critical systems' supervision in terms of reliability. A real hybrid power plant (HPP) case is considered for a case study with simulated data. A method framework with an informal approach (C4 diagram) and formal approach (hierarchical colored Petri nets) in a radial spectrum is applied to the HPP supervision design. In using formal methods, a formulation and solution to this problem through structured, scalable, and compact mathematical representations are possible. This malleable model is intended to guarantee the functional correctness and also reliability of the plant supervision system based on system software architecture. The outcomes suggest that the malleable model is appropriate for the energy domain and can be used for other types of critical systems, bringing all the benefits of this methodology to the context in which it will be applied. Sensors have recently become valuable tools in engineering, providing real-time data for monitoring structures and the environment. They are also emerging as new tools in education and training, offering learners real-time information to reinforce their understanding of engineering concepts. However, sensing technology's complexity, costs, fabrication and implementation challenges often hinder engineers' exploration. Simplifying these aspects could make sensors more accessible to engineering students. In this study, the researcher developed, fabricated, and tested an efficient low-cost wireless intelligent sensor aimed at education and research, named LEWIS1. This paper describes the hardware and software architecture of the first prototype and their use, as well as the proposed new versions, LEWIS1-β and LEWIS1-γ, which simplify both hardware and software. The capabilities of the proposed sensor are compared with those of an accurate commercial PCB sensor. This paper also demonstrates examples of outreach efforts and suggests the adoption of the newer versions of LEWIS1 as tools for education and research. The authors also investigated the number of activities and sensor-building workshops that have been conducted since 2015 using the LEWIS sensor, showing an increasing trend in the excitement of people from various professions to participate and learn sensor fabrication. This article introduces an open-source software stack designed for autonomous 1:10 scale model vehicles. Initially developed for the Bosch Future Mobility Challenge (BFMC) student competition, this versatile software stack is applicable to a variety of autonomous driving competitions. The stack comprises perception, planning, and control modules, each essential for precise and reliable scene understanding in complex environments such as a miniature smart city in the context of BFMC. Given the limited computing power of model vehicles and the necessity for low-latency real-time applications, the stack is implemented in C++, employs YOLO Version 5 s for environmental perception, and leverages the state-of-the-art Robot Operating System (ROS) for inter-process communication. We believe that this article and the accompanying open-source software will be a valuable resource for future teams participating in autonomous driving student competitions. As part of the research carried out in the field of processing systems and the production process of oil-hydraulic cylinders of large dimensions and power, the specifics of fluid power transmission, in the functioning of hydropower facilities, were analyzed. The research also includes the optimization of the physical–mathematical model of non-stationary processes, which take place inside the chamber of a large hydrocylinder. In parallel with the definition of the optimization model, the work parameters that affect the process of fluid flow and piston movement were determined. The operating and technological construction parameters of the hydraulic cylinder, which most significantly affect the operation of the hydraulic cylinder, were defined, and the observed parameters were optimized, based on which a prototype with improved characteristics compared to existing solutions was realized. In recent decades, the potential of robots' understanding, perception, learning, and action has been widely expanded due to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into almost every system. Cooperation between AI and human beings will be responsible for the bright future of AI technology. Moreover, for a perfect manually or automatically controlled machine or device, the device must perform together with a human through multiple levels of automation and assistance. Humans and robots cooperate or interact in various ways. With the enhancement of robot efficiencies, they can perform more work through an automatic method; therefore, we need to think about cooperation between humans and robots, the required software architectures, and information about the designs of user interfaces. This paper describes the most important strategies of human–robot interactions and the relationships between several control techniques and cooperation techniques using sensor fusion and machine learning (ML). Based on the behavior and thinking of humans, a human–robot interaction (HRI) framework is studied and explored in this article to make attractive, safe, and efficient systems. Additionally, research on intention recognition, compliance control, and perception of the environment by elderly assistive robots for the optimization of HRI is investigated in this paper. Furthermore, we describe the theory of HRI and explain the different kinds of interactions and required details for both humans and robots to perform different kinds of interactions, including the circumstances-based evaluation technique, which is the most important criterion for assistive robots. Introduction: Distal locking is a challenging and time-consuming step in interlocked intramedullary nailing of long bone fractures. Current methods have limitations in terms of simplicity, universality, accuracy, speed, and safety. We propose a novel device and software for distal locking using computer vision. Methods and materials: The device consists of an universal ancillary clamp, a telescopic arm, a viewfinder clamp, and a radio-opaque cross. The software uses a camera photo from the C-arm intensifier and adjusts for geometric projection deformities. The software employs edge detection, Hough transform, perspective interpolation, and vector calculation algorithms to locate the distal hole center. The device and software were designed, manufactured, and tested using 3D CAD, FEM, DRR, and performance testing on phantom bones. Results: The device and software showed high accuracy and precision of 98.7% and 99.2% respectively in locating the distal hole center and calculating the correctional vector. The device and software also showed high success ratio in drilling the hole and inserting the screw. The device and software reduced the radiation exposure for the surgeon and the patient. The success ratio of the device and software was validated by the physical testing, which simulated the real clinical scenario of distal locking. The radiation exposure was as low as 5 s with a radiation dose of 0.2mSv, drastically reducing radiation exposure during distal locking. Discussion: Our device and software have several advantages over other distal locking methods, such as simplicity, universality, accuracy, speed, and safety. Our device and software also have some disadvantages, such as reliability and legislation. Our device and software can be compared with other distal locking methods based on these criteria. Our device and software have some limitations and challenges that need to be addressed in the future, such as clinical validation, and regulatory approval. Conclusion: The device showed promising results in terms of low-cost, reusability, low radiation exposure, high accuracy, fast distal locking, high stiffness, and adaptability. The device has several advantages over other distal locking techniques, such as free-hand technique, mechanical aiming devices, electromagnetic navigation systems, and computer-assisted systems. We believe that our device and software have the potential to revolutionize the distal locking technique and to improve the outcomes and quality of life of the patients with long bone fractures. Software modelling and model-driven engineering (MDE) is traditionally studied from a technical perspective. However, one of the core motivations behind the use of software models is inherently human-centred. Models aim to enable practitioners to communicate about software designs, make software understandable, or make software easier to write through domain-specific modelling languages. Several recent studies challenge the idea that these aims can always be reached and indicate that human factors play a role in the success of MDE. However, there is an under-representation of research focusing on human factors in modelling. During a GI-Dagstuhl seminar, topics related to human factors in modelling were discussed by 26 expert participants from research and industry. In breakout groups, five topics were covered in depth, namely modelling human aspects, factors of modeller experience, diversity and inclusion in MDE, collaboration and MDE, and teaching human-aware MDE. We summarise our insights gained during the discussions on the five topics. We formulate research goals, questions, and propositions that support directing future initiatives towards an MDE community that is aware of and supportive of human factors and values. This paper presents a decision-support system developed to plan the harvest and packing of table grapes. Variability in harvest readiness and volume can significantly impact producer-exporters' ability to meet market demands. The decision-support system incorporates planning aspects specific to table grape production, such as limiting transportation of unpacked stock, pack-to-order, and distinguishing between specific product requirements (i.e., packaging type and cultivar). This decision-support system uses several operational data sources. It assists decision-makers in minimising deviation from the demand plan and the distances harvest is transported between the orchards and processing sites. The conceptual architecture and software implementation tools to realise the decision-support system and a realworld case study are presented. Wearable technology may provide the possibility to monitor and quantify home exercises, to increase motivation for training and to facilitate cooperation between stroke survivors and physiotherapists. However, little is known about potential users' opinions about using such systems. To explore stroke survivors' and physiotherapists' perspectives on the potential benefit of such wearable technology consisting of a smartphone application and movement sensors. Four semi-structured focus group discussions, two with stroke survivors (n = 12) and physiotherapists (n = 11) respectively, were conducted to explore their perceptions on the potential of such technology. We developed four main themes through the thematic analysis: 1) the app should be well-developed, user-friendly and flexible; 2) the app's potential for feedback and the experience of progression; 3) the app as a tool for rehabilitation; and 4) the app's potential to strengthen the relationship between stroke survivors and physiotherapists. Stroke survivors' use of wearable technology to promote home exercise will depend as much on their trust in the professional and relational competence of the physiotherapist as the technical issues of an app. The potential benefits of wearable technology for cooperation between stroke survivors and physiotherapists and as a tool for rehabilitation were highlighted. The proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm has ushered in a new era of connectivity and convenience. Consequently, rapid IoT expansion has introduced unprecedented security challenges , among which source code vulnerabilities present a significant risk. Recently, machine learning (ML) has been increasingly used to detect source code vulnerabilities. However, there has been a lack of attention to IoT-specific frameworks regarding both tools and datasets. This paper addresses potential source code vulnerabilities in some of the most commonly used IoT frameworks. Hence, we introduce IoTvulCode - a novel framework consisting of a dataset-generating tool and ML-enabled methods for detecting source code vulnerabilities and weaknesses as well as the initial release of an IoT vulnerability dataset. Our framework contributes to improving the existing coding practices, leading to a more secure IoT infrastructure. Background: Provision of a Medication Action Plan (MAP) on admission and a Discharge Medication Record (DMR) are associated with reduced medication‐related harm. Aim: To report factors associated with the provision of MAPs and DMRs in rural and regional hospitals in Queensland, Australia. Method: A literature search, environmental scan and department consultations were conducted to develop Clinical Pharmacy Key Performance Indicators (cpKPIs) and design a cpKPI dashboard. Two of the five KPIs included in the dashboard, relating to medication action plans on admission and medication records on discharge, were reported for all the hospitals and were included in the study. A retrospective, period‐prevalence study was conducted to evaluate the coverage and equity of clinical pharmacy service provision for patients admitted for longer than 24 h. The proportions of patients who received MAPs and DMRs were stratified by age, gender, Indigeneity and hospital type. Statistical analysis used chi‐squared tests and logistic regression in R. This project was exempt due to the local policy requirements that constitute research by the Far North Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee (Reference no: EX/2023/QCH/94383‐1684QA). The justification for this exemption is as follows: the project was determined to be negligible risk research and involved the use of existing collection of data or records that contain only non‐identifiable data about human beings. Results: In total, 13 818 patients (37.9% of admissions) received a MAP and 11 631 patients (32.7% of discharges) received a DMR. The proportion of MAPs and DMRs was significantly higher in rural hospitals than in regional hospitals (MAP 50.6% vs 34.6%, DMR 33.1% vs 31.3%) and for male patients than female patients (MAP 42.2% vs 33.7%, DMR 36.4% vs 29.2%). When stratified by age, First Nations patients received a higher proportion of MAPs and DMRs in each age group, except for age 85 years and over. The proportion of First Nations patients aged 50 years and over who received MAP was lower compared to that for non‐Indigenous patients aged 65 years and over (56.3% vs 59.8%), whilst the proportion for DMRs was similar (50.4% vs 49.3%). Conclusion: The study defined the clinical pharmacy key performance indicators for measuring equity of clinical pharmacy service provision in Australia. When adjusted for a difference in life expectancy, the proportion of MAPs for First Nations patients was lower compared to the proportion of MAPs for non‐Indigenous patients. Background: Medication dosing in overweight and obese children often involves complex weight-based calculations, leading to higher dosing errors, particularly with intravenous drugs. Currently, tools to aid in dosage calculations are lacking for these patients, especially in Thai population. Objective : This study aimed to develop a mobile application with the intent of utilizing it as a tool to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of dosing calculations required for obese and overweight Thai children. Methods: The performance of the application was assessed in 3 key aspects using a sample of 30 healthcare professionals. These key aspects included: 1) the accuracy of dosage calculations, assessed through pre- and posttests comparing manual calculations to app-based calculations using a 10-item questionnaire, 2) the time taken for calculations before and after app usage, 3) user satisfaction, which was measured through a questionnaire. Results: The integration of applications into the calculation demonstrated a significant improvement when compared to the manual calculation in both accuracy (6.10 vs 9.33 out of 10, P <.001) and efficiency (10.40 vs 8.53 minutes per 10 questions, P =.008). Also, the application elicited high levels of satisfaction among users, as reflected by an overall mean satisfaction score of 4.57 on a 5-point scale. Conclusion : The integration of this application to assist in dosage calculations for overweight and obese pediatric Thai patients has yielded favorable outcomes concerning accuracy, efficiency, and user satisfaction. Purpose: Technology-enabled care, including the use of mobile health (mHealth), is emerging as a viable hearing health care delivery method. While the integration of mHealth with adult populations currently supports a wide array of hearing services, a better understanding of the implementation across the lifespan is needed. Literature surrounding the unique population of adolescent hearing aid users is currently lacking. Research is needed to highlight factors important to the use and clinical integration of mHealth hearing aid applications (apps) with adolescents. This study explored two primary objectives: (a) audiologists' perceptions around the use of mHealth apps to enable collaborative, child-inclusive hearing aid personalization, and (b) person-centered ideation around potential app design components to benefit users aged 12 to 17 years. Method: Twelve audiologists participated in virtual synchronous focus groups, across three group sessions using Cisco Webex. Sessions were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using an inductive, codebook thematic analysis approach. Results: Six main themes resulted from group discussion analyses: (a) client candidacy: characteristics impacting suitability for mHealth use; (b) clinical implementation: organizational, professional, or patient-level strategies for mHealth adoption; (c) collaboration: the use of two or more individuals working together; (d) empowerment: process of acquiring and using knowledge, skills, and strategies; (e) remote technology: technologies enabling remote hearing aid personalization; and (f) application functionality and design: features and characteristics important to an adolescent-focused app. Conclusions: Findings identified the potential for clinical integration of hearing aid apps with adolescents in a collaborative care model, including consideration of child-specific use patterns, outcomes, and key design and technology components to support real-world implementation and use. A novel gear mechanism named high-order multi-segment deformed eccentric non-circular gear was proposed for achieving the unification of non-circular gears with typical-form pitch curve and non-circular gears with free-form pitch curve. The transmission mechanism of the high-order multi-segment deformed eccentric non-circular gear was analyzed, and the unified mathematical expression of eccentric gears was established. The non-circular gears with free-form pitch curve could be constructed based on the proposed high-order multi-segment deformed eccentric non-circular gear by changing the parameters. Moreover, the transmission characteristics were discussed, such as the transmission ratio relationship, convexity distinguished conditions, curvature radius of pitch curve. The visual design and simulation software and generation software of tooth profile for non-circular gears are compiled based on MATLAB, and was verified with the example. This novelty gear was applied to the drive mechanism of the metering pump. The mathematical model of non-circular gear-crank slider mechanism is established and the 3D model and virtual prototype experiment of the mechanism are accomplished. Aim: This study aimed to develop a mobile application to assess the psychological well-being of university students. Material and Methods: Using an innovative and interdisciplinary approach, this study follows a rigorous methodology from September 2022 to June 2023. The development of the mobile application followed a systematic and structured process to ensure functionality, usability, and reliability. Throughout all stages of development, professional support was sought from information technology to ensure the technical robustness, reliability, and effectiveness of the application. The study embraces four developmental stages including needs identification, technical development, intervention design, and promotion. These stages ensure a studentcentered approach, while the application itself offers insights into depression, anxiety, stress, relationship violence attitudes, addiction, Internet addiction, sleep quality, and eating disorders. Results: A unique and all-inclusive mobile application was created to assess and enhance the psychological well-being of university students. With the real-time emotion monitoring feature of the application, students may keep an eye on their present emotional states and develop selfawareness. If long-term negative emotions are detected, the early warning system is activated and implemented. It provides uninterrupted referrals to qualified professionals for immediate response and support in emergency situations and an enhanced feedback mechanism for user complaints and suggestions. It also provides sensitive evaluation and triage processes by creating an anonymous system record to provide instant support, when necessary. The application also includes stress management guidance for students. This Managerial Perspective considers the use of ChatGPT by hotels as a tool for replying to their property's online consumer-generated media postings. As readers would certainly know, ChatGPT is a free artificial intelligence software program designed to assist users with tasks requiring intelligence to perform. In this brief study, test participants were provided actual posted online TripAdvisor review comments along with the responses to these that had been posted by hotel management as well as a second response created by ChatGPT, with the request that the participant indicate which response was real and which was produced by the computer. A second request asked the participant to indicate which they felt was "better." The results suggest that ChatGPT does a relatively effective job of mimicking authentic responses. These findings, and the discussion of relevant theory, will be useful for hospitality industry managers and academics as they consider the future use of artificial intelligence software for performing this important albeit often tedious task. The "SmartCaregivers" 1.0 mobile application is a beacon of hope for caregivers (CG) in rural areas, often facing limited access to facilities and support. This study, conducted from February to August 2021, aimed to comprehensively analyze the need for developing a database system and a mobile application tailored to enhance caregiver support and resource management for long-term dependent individuals in the rural areas of Maha Sarakham province, Thailand. The research followed a rigorous research and development (R & D) approach, specifically the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Data were collected from 402 caregivers and 10 key informants through surveys and interviews, as well as from 402 caregivers during the implementation and evaluation phases. The application's impact was assessed using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre–post-test, and its acceptance was evaluated through the technology acceptance model (TAM). The application significantly improved caregivers' knowledge scores, with a mean increase from 10.49 ± 2.53 to 12.18 ± 2.76 post-intervention. High scores for perceived usefulness (4.36 ± 0.62) and ease of use (4.31 ± 0.59) reassure the audience about the application's effectiveness in providing rapid access to health information, aiding decision-making, and improving care coordination. The system quality was also highly rated, with users appreciating the variety of functions and structural design. Self-driving vehicles have attracted significant attention in the automotive industry that is heavily investing to reach the level of reliability needed from these safety critical systems. Security of in-vehicle communications is mandatory to achieve this goal. Most of the existing research to detect anomalies for in-vehicle communication does not take into account the low processing power of the in-vehicle Network and ECUs (Electronic Control Units). Also, these approaches do not consider system level isolation challenges such as side-channel vulnerabilities, that may arise due to adoption of new technologies in the automotive domain. This paper introduces and discusses the design of a framework to detect anomalies in in-vehicle communications, including side channel attacks. The proposed framework supports real time monitoring of data exchanges among the components of in-vehicle communication network and ensures the isolation of the components in in-vehicle network by deploying them in Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). The framework is designed based on the AUTOSAR open standard for automotive software architecture and framework. The paper also discusses the implementation and evaluation of the proposed framework. Background: The development of mobile apps in healthcare facilities helps users perform self-care effectively. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the quality, functionality, and features of Persian language diabetes mobile apps. Methods: Persian language diabetes self-management mobile apps were searched in the Android and iOS App Stores using relevant keywords such as "diabetes" and "blood sugar." Twelve apps met the inclusion criteria. Nine evaluators assessed the apps' quality based on the Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS), their functionality according to the IMS institute for healthcare informatics app functionality scoring system, and their features and content using a checklist. Results: The mean MARS score of the apps was 3.02 out of 5. Among the four dimensions of engagement, aesthetics, functionality, and information quality, functionality had the highest mean ± SD score (3.64 ± 1.13). Most of the apps used 5 - 7 out of the 11 defined functionalities. All self-management apps included the functionality of monitoring blood glucose levels, and the majority had health status monitoring features. Conclusions: The mobile apps had several drawbacks, including a lack of engagement strategies, insufficient evidence-based information for patients, limited guideline-based self-management functionalities, failure to evaluate clinical effectiveness in trials, and an absence of mutual communication with healthcare providers. The ability to define, evaluate, and implement software architectures is a fundamental skill for software engineers. However, teaching software architecture can be challenging as it requires students to be involved in real-context projects with high degrees of complexity. This involves making trade-off decisions among several quality attributes. Furthermore, the academic perception of software architecture differs from the industrial viewpoint. To address this issue, a study was conducted to identify and analyze the strategies, challenges, and course experiences used for teaching software architectures. The study analyzed 56 articles reporting on teaching experiences focused specifically on software architectures or focused on software engineering in general but discussing software architecture. The main contributions of this work include identifying strategies used in educating software architecture students aligned with the needs of the software industry. These strategies include short design projects, large development projects, and projects with actual clients. Additionally, the study compared curriculum contents in software development and architecture courses and identified recurring topics such as architecture patterns, quality attributes, and architectural views. This study also recognizes the set of skills that students of software architecture should develop during training, such as leadership and negotiation. The challenges in software architecture training were discussed, such as instructors' lack of experience in actual projects, the abstract and fuzzy nature of software architectures, and the difficulty of involving clients and industry experts. Evaluation methods commonly used in training software architects, such as surveys, pre-test/post-test, and quality metrics on architectural artifacts, were identified and described. Overall, this study guides researchers and educators in improving their software architecture courses by incorporating strategies reported by the literature review. In the current digital landscape, artificial intelligence-driven automation has revolutionized efficiency in various areas, enabling significant time and resource savings. However, the reliability and efficiency of software systems remain crucial challenges. To address this issue, a generation of self-adaptive software has emerged with the ability to rectify errors and autonomously optimize performance. This study focuses on the development of self-adaptive software designed for pre-programmed tasks on the Internet. The software stands out for its self-adaptation, automation, fault tolerance, efficiency, and robustness. Various technologies such as Python, MySQL, Firebase, and others were employed to enhance the adaptability of the software. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the software, with a continuously growing self-adaptation rate and improvements in response times. Probability models were applied to analyze the software's effectiveness in fault situations. The implementation of virtual cables and multiprocessing significantly improved performance, achieving higher execution speed and scalability. In summary, this study presents self-adaptive software that rectifies errors, optimizes performance, and maintains functionality in the presence of faults, contributing to efficiency in Internet task automation.
