Modern higher education institutions in developed countries are becoming active agents of permanent societal changes. The aim of the study is to map the scientific landscape on the topic of higher education for sustainable development in the context of digitalization. In the research process, bibliometric analysis, an in-built Scopus instrument, and VOSviewer were used. The findings proved that the severe restrictions faced by universities during the COVID-19 pandemic became a powerful impulse to intensify the attention of scientists to the mentioned topic. Visualization maps of keywords and scientific publications showed the existing interdisciplinary nature and the main thematic directions of research on higher education for sustainable development in the digital era. They demonstrated a direct connection between the basic principles of the sustainable development concept, sustainable development goals, higher education, universities, digitization, and digital technologies. The largest number of works on the specified subject belong to scientists from China, Spain, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Ukraine. The study concluded that future publications in the analyzed field would cover the effectiveness of digital technologies in higher education, the development of competencies for the digital economy, inclusiveness, cybersecurity, as well as ethical aspects of the use of technologies to achieve the global sustainable development goals. This article examines the practical significance and growing relevance of the sustainable development concept (SDC). To support the hypothesis that SDC principles need to transition from being largely declarative to more practical applications, various desk-based research methods are employed. The historical method is used to trace out the emergence and evolution of the SDC, highlighting a shift from single to diversified development, short-term to long-term sustainability, and domestic to global cooperation. Logical and analytical methods further clarify the increasing global focus on economic, environmental, and social issues. The article also explores approaches to classifying the key aspects of modern sustainable development and identifies the latest trends in the field. It emphasizes the importance of integrating the SDC's economic, environmental, and social dimensions into corporate activities. Examples of successful corporate implementation are provided. However, the findings indicate that broader and more effective frameworks are necessary to move the SDC from theory to practice, enabling corporations to address global challenges more effectively.

Several studies have compared green building rating systems (GBRSs) in China and the United States, Nonetheless, few studies included in-depth analysis on specific rating tools with project specific data validating green building technologies and actual performance. This study conducted a comprehensive data-driven comparison of the GBRSs of China and the United States. The goal was to understand the current status and further improve China's GBRS and promote green building technologies. The study first conducted thorough comparisons of GBRSs in China and the U.S. by selecting a series of distinct rating tools. Then, it analyzed each tool's development objectives, contents, and rating score settings. The comparison concludes the future development needs for China's GBRS. In addition to standard comparison, green building technologies applied in certified projects were also summarized. The results demonstrated that GBRSs in both China and the U.S. reflect well the technical paths to achieve green building sustainable development. By analyzing certified projects, it was also found that the incremental costs of green building technologies were controllable. Finally, based on the comparison and case analysis, the study provide a set of policy recommendations to further improve China's green building standards.

The subject of the article is the development trends of the financial results statement. The study is based on the analysis of documents regulating the preparation of financial statements according to Russian and international standards, as well as the main provisions of the concept of sustainable development. The features of the financial results statement effective in 1996 are presented. The article substantiates significant changes in the income statement from 1996 to 2023. The main documents regulating the presentation of financial performance report indicators are highlighted. An analysis was carried out of the appearance of indicators reflecting the result of the revaluation of fixed assets and intangible assets and the total financial result of the period. Changes in the financial results statement introduced in the reporting generated from 2025 are highlighted. A conclusion is drawn about the advantages of bringing domestic reporting forms closer to IFRS. The need to include expenses in line with the concept of sustainable development in the financial performance report has been identified. The importance of reflecting the elements of the concept of sustainable development should be reflected in the accounting (financial) statements is substantiated. The foundations for the development of accounting (financial) reporting in our country are determined: IFRS and the concept of sustainable development.

Introduction. A typical practice of the world's leading countries is the transformation of higher education institutions into agents of change in society. In the XXI century, these changes are primarily focused on various aspects of sustainable development of the country and its regions. Currently, it is the universities, together with NGOs, that have the greatest impact on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals proclaimed by the UN for 2015. The purpose of the research is to analyse the global experience of sustainable development in higher education institutions (HEIs). Methodology. This study used the cognitive method of analysis. In order to obtain the most objective research results, the authors studied the universities included in the international Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. The study covered universities from all over the world that were included in the top 50 of the rating. The results of the analysis are systematised according to geography (the article includes several sections characterising the sustainable development of universities in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia). Results. Higher education institutions are now expected to become leaders in sustainable change in the country, economy and society. The world's leading universities are demonstrating how to progressively transform their activities in line with sustainable principles. They are investing heavily in the implementation of the latest technologies for energy saving, water conservation, campus landscaping and waste recycling. Since they have access to areas where the natural complex is preserved, universities are trying to support these areas and create favourable conditions for using them as living laboratories in educational and research processes. Universities offer sustainable development and lifestyles as part of their educational activities (public lectures, expert workshops, specialised short-term online training, etc.). Universities influence the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through their educational and research (inventive) activities. The world's leading universities are keen to promote the concept of sustainable development: they share events held, projects and initiatives undertaken and goals achieved widely on their official websites and social networks. Conclusion. The main directions of sustainable development in higher education institutions are 1) sustainable development of the campus (carbon neutrality, rational consumption, energy efficiency, waste recycling, optimisation of drinking water consumption, green transport, food safety for students); 2) sustainable educational programmes and courses (a sustainable component in students' bachelor and master theses); 3) sustainable research (innovative technologies against climate change, water conservation, energy saving, etc.); 4) management (internal regulatory documents on sustainable development, specialised sustainability centres to promote and support sustainable initiatives). Long-term partnership with stakeholders (entrepreneurs, local authorities and students as agents of future sustainable change) plays an important role in ensuring sustainability. The sustainable development strategy of a modern higher education institution should be based on the principles of complexity and coherence, which will not allow sustainability measures and initiatives to be fragmented and asynchronous. Areas for further research include building a theoretical and methodological framework for the development of an integrated ecosystem of sustainable development of universities.

Background. The purpose of the study was to study the role of sustainable innovative development of smart cities in achieving the goals of sustainable development of modern humanity. The concept of sustainable development, the concept of a smart city, existing approaches to the assessment of smart cities based on indicators and indices are considered. Global problems are shown, in the solution of which the sustainable innovative development of smart cities plays an important role, the experience of innovative development of the Russian capital as a smart city is considered. Materials and methods. The author conducted a desk study, its information base included materials from the official websites of the United Nations structural units; regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation; data from the official website of the Mayor of Moscow; materials of scientific and educational publications; materials of analytical, research and consulting companies, secondary information from periodicals and thematic Internet portals. Results. The conducted research made it possible to identify the role of digitalization-based sustainable innovative development of smart cities in achieving the goals of sustainable development of modern humanity defined by the United Nations, in particular, ensuring openness, security, resilience and environmental sustainability of cities and human settlements. Сonclusions. It is established that ensuring a higher quality of life for citizens, who make up more than half of the population of the modern urbanized world, contributes to the sustainable development of mankind, meeting the needs of present and future generations in economic, social, cultural and environmental aspects.

The article discusses the specificity and current trends of ecological tourism in the context of sustainable development. The authors performed a literary review of the concept of “sustainable development”, grouped the views of various authors on the definition of this concept. The modern normative-legal base of the Russian Federation in the field of steady development is analysed, the list of operating statutory acts in this sphere is revealed. The world practice of tourism development has been studied. The basic principles regulating natural ecological tourism are revealed, plans of strategic development at various levels of management are studied. The authors concluded that the current high tourism potential of the Russian Federation is underused. Ecological tourism can become one of the effective means of nature protection and formation of ecological culture.

In 2015, as a response to global challenges, the members of the United Nations (UN) designed the Sustainable Development Goals they intend to achieve by 2030. The transition to a green economy is at the core of the global sustainable development agenda. Such an approach includes the introduction of sustainable production and consumption patterns, increased use of renewable energy sources, and carbon footprint reduction in production chains. In particular, the countries that export fuel and energy resources are under pressure due to the plans to stop using hydrocarbons as a fuel source. Subsequently, a new technological paradigm will put additional pressure on the countries that export mineral resources. Thus, it is appropriate to examine how commodity producing countries integrate the principles of sustainable development in national policies. We analysed the countries that are largely dependent on the export of fuel and energy resources as well as the countries that export mineral resources. Then, we assessed the participation of these countries in key international initiatives for sustainable development. Finally, we summarised and systematised the approaches of the examined countries to introduce sustainable development principles into national strategies and policies. Examination of the international experience allows making the following conclusions. Commodity producing countries consider the global sustainable development agenda as an opportunity to improve the national economy and implement the reforms necessary for further development. In this case, the global agenda is an additional argument to substantiate the necessity of reforms for the national elite. In the field of sustainable development, there is a trend towards strengthening the regulatory role of the state, which combines direct control measures and measures aimed at the establishment of the green national economy.

The conceptual principles of the implementation of sustainable development at the local territorial level in Ukraine, as well as the institutional mechanisms of its implementation within the decentralization of power have been identified. The importance of reforming the local government is highlighted by using the sustainable development concept, which is necessary for Ukraine to move forward on the path to the European integration. The necessity of carrying out the complex work of creating a framework for managing territorial development has been proved. The article deals with topical, practical issues of implementing and realizing sustainable development at the local level. The theoretical essence and content of the sustainable development concept have been studied. The interrelation of its three main components has been revealed, being ecological, economic, and social ones. The conceptual principles of reforming local government and administrative organization within the decentralization of powers have been offered. The author proves the appropriateness of changes implemented in the local government system, which provide for the realization of sustainable development on the basis of openness and transparency of public authorities, civil society’s active participation in the formation of the state territorial policy, and fulfillment of the citizens’ environmental rights. The principles of sustainable development of local government have been summed up. Strategic guidelines for the development of local government have been identified. Prospects for territorial development have been outlined. Transition to the concept of sustainable development has been substantiated, which would result in constructing a qualitatively new social, ecological and economic model of society development, solving acute problems of the present and future generations.

Transformational changes towards the welfare of rural communities are an important component in shaping the concept of sustainable rural development. The content of such measures involves taking into account financial, economic, social, organizational and environmental aspects. This context for the implementation of key provisions of regional development involves the use of strategic marketing management technologies. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the place and role of strategic marketing management in ensuring the development of rural areas from the standpoint of its interpretation in the local dimension and determining the feasibility in the future. The key tasks include substantiating the benefits of engaging strategic marketing management tools in the system of management of rural development; creation of an empirical model for managing rural development taking into account the marketing component; identification of features and problems of rural development; developing proposals on the implication of the technology of strategic marketing management in the concept of sustainable rural development. Research methods included monographic, abstract-logical, SWOT-analysis, graphic. The content and architectonics of the system of strategic marketing management of rural development are specified. It is substantiated that strategic marketing management is a key component in the general system of rural development management. The tools of the strategic marketing management accompany the development and implementation of a marketing strategy based on identifying the competitive advantages of the territory in order to achieve the goals and solve the long-term objectives. The state of the strategic management of the rural areas development in Korets raion of Rivne region is assessed and its problems are identified. It is established that the studied territories have both a number of competitive advantages, formed by strengths and opportunities, and ‘weak points’ (weaknesses and threats). It is proved that the effectiveness of the formation and implementation of the strategy for territorial development is achieved through the involvement of strategic marketing management tools, intensification of the intellectual potential of local self-government bodies, provision of appropriate methodological, technological, organizational, institutional and resource platform. The mechanism of the formation of the strategic management system for the development of rural areas is created and possibilities for its implication in the sustainable development concept are defined. It is proved that sustainable development of rural areas (provided the use of strategic marketing management technology) will be ensured through the achievement of economic, social and environmental effects. It is found out that the economic plane of expected benefits implies economic growth, formation of competitive ability, sustaining the image of territories, strengthening of investment climate; the social plane involves social security of the territory, improving the welfare and quality of life of rural residents; the ecological – ecologically oriented development of territories, ecological well-being and quality of life of rural inhabitants. Prospects for further research in this scientific direction is to develop methodological foundation for the analytical assessment of the results of the implementation of strategic marketing management in the system of managing rural development.

The article is aimed at substantiating the feasibility of forming a specialized investment fund (buffer) in enterprises engaged in foreign economic activities, allocating the directions of its creation and ways of using it from a view of sustainable development in the context of energy and resource saving. It is specified that the course towards ensuring the sustainable development of each enterprise, production, organization constitutes a tendency that is irreversible and adequate to modern realities. The need to re-equipe production facilities or to build new capacities based on the postulates of sustainable development requires financial injections that enterprise often cannot afford, having no sufficient volume of revolving resources, seeking bank credits or investors, which reduce the economic effect of the chosen course and makes the enterprise dependent on external creditors. Prospect for further research in this direction is the creation of specialized investment buffers in the form of a separate account in the enterprises, which will become the instrument that will assist ensuring the financial independence of company in terms of energy and resource saving; will be a powerful anti-crisis mechanism for ensuring financial sustainability in the face of a volatile economic climate and, at the same time, an impetus for the qualitative development of entrepreneurship for the benefit of the country and society.

Gulf ports are facing fierce market competition and serious environmental pollution while shouldering the great responsibility of oil transportation. Deconstructing the propagation mechanism of the sustainable development concept among the Gulf ports group will help to provide a new perspective for the ports' governance in the Gulf region. This paper constructed the ports' relationship network of Gulf region with the method of complex network, established the propagation model of sustainable ports' concept, and simulated the model. The results suggest that: optimizing and adjusting the relationship structure of ports in the Gulf region and reducing the recovery rate will promote the spread of sustainable development concepts in the region; enhancing the sustainable competitiveness of ports is the most effective way to promote the dissemination of the concept of sustainable development; and the increasing pressure of international regulations on sustainable development and regional consensus will make ports more receptive to the concept of sustainable development. This article examines a relatively new source of financing for the Russian market for enterprises implementing so-called “green” innovations. Green bonds are an innovative source of financing that opens up new opportunities for attracting long-term capital to achieve sustainable growth for Russian enterprises. The article provides a definition of the concept of "green" bonds, provides statistics on the volume of world issue, as well as the results of emissions of Russian companies. The analysis of literary sources on the research topic is given. The main advantages of this source of financing are formulated, namely, "green" focus, additional potential for growth of enterprises, the possibility of issuing perpetual issues, as well as bonds with a floating coupon. The article substantiates that due to the issue of "green" bonds, the company receives an additional source of financing for its growth, which is important in the context of the general economic downturn. As an additional advantage for enterprises that generate an increment in the company's market value, the author notes the reputation factor of the emission of "green" bonds. In view of the fact that the transition to green, resource-saving technologies, conscious consumption, and lean innovation is a stable global trend - "green" bonds improve the business reputation of the issuing company, as well as the investor purchasing such a security. All of these factors can offset the increased risk of green innovation - projects for which this specific source of capital is intended to finance. The article presents a pricing model for "green" bonds, taking into account the specifics of this funding source. In the conclusion, conclusions are drawn about the current state of the market for corporate "green" bonds in Russia, the main directions of its future development are formulated, as well as the problems that hinder this. The article is devoted to the study of "green" bonds as a source of financing for enterprises implementing green innovation. The object of research is "green" bonds, items - their pricing. The aim of the study is to formulate a pricing model for "green" bonds, as well as the prospects for this source of funding in the Russian securities market.

The essence of the integrated reporting is described. Preconditions and problems when introducing the integrated reporting are presented. The information requests of integrated reporting users are described. The necessity of reflection of all types of capital, namely, natural, social, human and intellectual in the integrated reporting are revealed. The main advantages of compiling the integrated accounts for the enterprise are established: a broader perspective of consideration of the activity; the improvement of accounting policy as a result of integration of the principles of sustainable development into activity; increasing the trust of workers and consumers in the safety of technological processes and products for environment. For the wider introduction of the integrated reporting it is necessary to develop the methodological provision for accounting in accordance with the principles of sustainable development to ensure the reliability of the indices obtained; it is necessary to select the optimal list of indices that can meet the information needs of all users, in particular, investors, the state, auditors, society, creditors, consumers, employees, management personnel, academics, and the media. The main tasks and principles of compilation of the integrated reporting are presented. Orientation to the future, materiality, demand, integrity, reliability, completeness, periodicity, consistency, timeliness, interpretation, and comparability are suggested as the principles of integrated reporting. The issue of the necessity of conducting the external audit of the data verification of the integrity reporting is highlighted. The algorithm of profit distribution depending on the chosen strategy of enterprise development is proposed. When directing net profits for the development of production, the authors identify the following three strategies: insufficient upgrades, upgrades at the level of wear and the advanced renewal of non-current assets. It is proposed to choose the strategy for the extended renewal of non-current assets, which will increase the scope of activities and the net profit in the future.

One of the main conditions for the economic stability of the country is a reliable supply of resources. Therefore, it is important that targeted measures be taken to fully meet the basic needs of the population. Creating a solid foundation for economic security requires sustainable development in industrial areas of the country. To achieve these goals, the national legislative base for production areas is constantly being improved in the form of a unified food security strategy, reducing import dependence, rational use of resources, water, land and their protection, expansion of export potential. The article discusses the concept of sustainable economic development, economic security, issues of socio-economic development. Recommendations were made on the study of issues related to the protection of the economy, dynamic and balanced growth, environmental safety, indicators that allow to assess the real state of the economy and their limitations. The article presents a new mechanism for effective management control. In its elaboration, we relied on the concept of sustainable development (SD) with a leitmotif of strengthening moral standards and expanding the social base for improving reality; stakeholder theory with the main thesis of the coordination of public interests; system theory with a combination of factors and mechanisms of development, including economic one; as well as a historical approach that takes into account political and socioeconomic conditions. The semantic connections of these theories we revealed by analysis earlier. The subject of scientific novelty is the clarification of signs (list of actions) of control, contributing to the sustainable development of enterprises, on the basis of the theories mentioned, as well as through the development of several own provisions that complement these theories. Environmental law as a science is being reconsidered because new environmental challenges and issues and their regulation require for theoretical understandings. International documents fixing the progressive world community's vision of prospects for the fight against global environmental issues serve as lawmaking acts. The United Nations Millennium Declaration 2000 (Chapter IV Protecting our common environment) is meant to be one of the strategic international documents stipulating cornerstone principles of environmental compliance and policy for the short- and long-term perspective. The modern world is characterized by the problem high urgency of production ecological safety and reducing the anthropogenic influence on the natural environment. Aggravation of the environmental situation and increasing ecological requirements to the entities of the economy has led to the strengthening of environmental functions. The economic mechanism of environmental sustainability is expressed through the greening of production. Environmental safety is based on the concept of sustainable development. Actual and perspective trend in this case is the achievement of competitive superiority, increase of business efficiency at the expense of achievement of productions' ecological stability, growth of investments in innovative development of the industry and formation of the new companies. The goal of the article is to study the peculiarities of the process of industries' greening and the assessment of the expenditures' level for environmental purposes, depending on the degree of market orientation and financial sustainability of petrochemical plants. The leading method for the study of this problem is the method of system economic analysis, which allows identifying the essence, patterns, and trends in the processes of production greening. An economic approach to the concept of sustainable development using the Hicks-Lindahl theory of total income is considered. Five principal factors of process of greening of industrial production are allocated. The conceptual model of monitoring of indicators' system allowing to diagnose technical parameters' change of production's greening and to estimate economic effect in the cost - effect dimension is offered. The materials of the study are of scientific and practical value in the design of environmental management system, the development of financial policy of environmental investment, the formation of environmental legislation, and ecological certification of production. The paper discusses the issues and methods of international relations objective accomplishment by contemporary states, which strive for interstate cooperation based on the principles of collaboration, equality and trust, using various instruments of foreign policy influence. Interdisciplinary research that involves the extensive use of systems analysis is currently being conducted in the course of studying security issues. The issue of a state's sustainable development is linked inseparably to the issue of security and is one of the potentially efficient concepts for supporting the stability of the international relations system. The sustainable development concept is an important issue in construction industry, which becomes important mainly because of its role in infrastructure provision. Infrastructure availability will affect economic growth and increase a country's competitiveness. Indonesia as a developing country still needs to build a lot of physical infrastructure. The concept of sustainable infrastructure development is in line with the Indonesian government's development plans for the period of 2014-2015 called Nawa Cita. Carbon footprint modelling is one of the methods that contributes to the realization of sustainable infrastructure development. This paper describes the approach of sustainable infrastructure development through carbon footprinting in the construction supply chain. In the construction industry, carbon footprinting gives information in total emission of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) in every stage of a construction project's supply chain activities. In creating a carbon footprint model, life cycle analysis (LCA) is used as a supporting instrument to estimate the carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions in each stage of the supply chain activities. One of the central places in finding out the overall solutions to stop the processes of economic power weakening of Sjenica's region, deagrarianization and depopulation of rural regions, is assumed by the question of adequate rural economy structuring in accordance with locally available resources. Within these frameworks we should look for the place, i.e. the position of tourist activity in Sjenica's region, which so far has not been given an appropriate role in development policies and concepts related to these areas, although it is based on various strong, highly attractive natural-ecological and anthropogenesis values. Rural areas were used for some forms of economic production and were known by low overall population densities. Tourism is attracted into these regions by natural features landscape quality and rural way of life. Rural tourism brings life to many areas. It can include a great variety of activities and can be way to prosperous life for people in Sjenica's region.

Uncertainty over climate change prospects has become a key area of the government's environmental policy in China. China has proclaimed a principle of "common but differentiated responsibility," suggesting that developed countries are to accept a greater share of the blame for the unfavorable climate change. In the context of the global financial crisis and pandemic, issues related to risk management are of paramount importance, which requires the creation of an effective risk management system and disclosure of information regarding risks in the reporting of commercial organizations, focused on the information needs of stakeholders. This article is aimed at studying the existing practice of disclosing information regarding risks in the financial and non-financial statements of Russian companies. The study is based on the analysis of the current practice of disclosure of information regarding risks in Russia and abroad. Using the analysis of risk disclosure in 210 Russian commercial organizations, the study was aimed, foremost, at identifying factors influencing the format and quality of risk disclosure in financial and non-financial reporting, and secondly, at summarizing the practices of risk disclosure in integrated reporting in Russian organizations and the benefits of using integrated reporting. In this sense, the article contributes to the existing literature as an innovative study that determines the directions of development of the methodology for disclosing information regarding risks in integrated reporting in order to improve its quality and information content in accordance with the Concept of value Creation by the organization in combination with the Concept of Sustainable Development. For stakeholders, this study emphasizes the fact that, in the context of the risk disclosure format used, the quality of this information depends on a number of factors (organizational, technological, legal, cultural, economic). The study could be useful for managers and decision makers whose aim is to implement the Concept of Sustainable Development and the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
