One of the first pioneers to try to reconcile the Catholic doctrine of creation, salvation and redemption with the idea of evolution was the French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. He believed that humanity has an important role to play in the further development of the universe, since human conscio usness or thought represents the highest stage of the evolution of the universe. This evolution was to be completed by reaching the Omega Point, which draws the universe and humanity towards the perfect complex interconnectedness. This is a distinctly teleological, finalistic view of the evolution of the universe and of life in it, and the Omega Point is associated with Christ, as depicted in some of the writings of the New Testament. In this paper, two hypotheses are put forward on the basis of Teilhard’s philosophy and proved by scientific facts. The first is that in the evolution of nature, that is, of the material universe (cosmogenesis), of life (abiogenesis) and of thought or spirit (noogenesis), we can see the solution of the original theological problem, namely, the evil of disconnectedness, by means of the integration of simple parts into a complex whole. The second hypothesis argues that modern technology is one of the phenomena of evolution, specifically of noogenesis, because by facilitating the flow of information and transdisciplinary learning, research and collaboration, it can foster the interweaving of simple thoughts and thinking persons into a complex whole. This is not to overlook the pressing problem where technology is not only connective but also disruptive, not because it is inherently bad, but because of the unhealthy spirit of a society that is immature to the new gains of humanity due to a weak moral consciousness. In this article we suggest that guidelines for the ethical use of technology should also be developed from the perspective of the Omega Point, namely from the ultimate full complex interconnectedness of creation, and that the motivation for following them should be found in the meaningful and realizes identity of the persons who use them. Today we live in an era of transparency, made possible by digital technology and the ideal of transparency. To understand the origins of this ideal, we must first look at the concept of transparency. The notion of transparency, which originally derives from optics, has evolved from being a property of the material through which we can see to being a thing that we can see. In this way, the term also acquires its metaphorical use and begins to denote a quality of sincere people. Transparency as an epistemological and moral value is thus extended to many areas and becomes a general and principled requirement of modern society, and as such it becomes an ideal. The modern demand for transparency of everything interferes in an important way with the possibility of genuine interpersonal relations and the possibility of establishing ethics itself. Technological change is one of the most important forces shaping modern society. Which perspectives can help us understand technological change, especially from a political economy lens? The first part of this article provides a basic overview of debates that shaped this scientific field, starting with nineteenth century British political economy. Liberal political economists as well as their critics of the time both saw the machinery question as a paramount challenge to British society, especially with regard to the problem of technological unemployment. The second part of the article turns to neoclassical economics and the conceptual tools that it uses to understand technology. Critiques of the neoclassical approach are also included, of which Schumpeter’s critique is the most important. The third part of the article turns to the contemporary literature on “skill-biased technological change” which rewards those that have the skills that complement digital technology and punishes those that do not. When introducing and using technology in nursing, there is a danger that too much focus is placed on technology over caring for patients. The ‘Technological competency as caring in nursing’ theory can facilitate technology in caring, but the theory needs to be described, analysed and evaluated before it is used. The purpose of the literature review was to determine the possibility of applying the theory in education, research and practice, and whether the theory could be used to guide research into the use of electronic nursing record systems.

Način komunikacije među ljudima znatno se promijenio razvojem komunikacijskih tehnologija, posebice društvenih mreža. Posljedice novih komunikacijskih navika zrcale se u svim sferama ljudskog života. One nisu samo bihevioralne prirode već su i psihološke, kognitivne, emotivne, fizičke i duhovne naravi. Kako bi se te promjene konkretizirale, u ovom radu se analiziraju i kompariraju promišljanja nekoliko suvremenih autora (S. Tubs, N. Carr, M. Spitzer, S. Turkle, U. Galimberti, K. K. Reardon, M. McLuhan i F. Colombo) koji detektiraju znanstvene i (bio)etičke izazove u vezi čovjek-komunikacijske tehnologije. Nadalje, poštujući pluriperspektivnost kao metodološku odrednicu integrativne bioetike, identificiraju se posljedice zatvorenosti čovjeka prema čovjeku, s filozofskog, antropološkog, komunikološkog, medicinskog i teološkog aspekta. Na koncu, iz bioetičke perspektive valoriziraju se dijaloška filozofija M. Bubera i poruka pape Franje sadržana u enciklici Fratelli tutti. Cilj je pronaći orijentire u humaniziranju i bioeticiziranju (digitalne) komunikacije u svrhu revitaliziranja interpersonalnih JA-TI odnosa te izgradnje humanije „ekologije medija”.

Transhumanizam karakterizira shvaćanje ljudske prirode dinamičnom i fleksibilnom te stoga prijemljivom za različita tehno-znanstvena poboljšanja. U ovom su radu empirijski istraživani stavovi i prediktori među studentima grada Zagreba (N=218) prema transhumanizmu. Iako većina ispitanika nije transhumanistički orijentirana, dio je pristao uz njemu karakteristične koncepcije ljudskoga tijela i svijesti uz otvorenost za više praktičnih poboljšanja. Najznačajnijim prediktorom prihvaćanja transhumanizma kod studenata pokazala se religioznost te prihvaćanje novih tehnologija i svjetonazor, slijedom čega je on profiliran kao sekularni, tehnološki i liberalni fenomen. Doprinos ovoga rada je u aktualiziranju teme o kojoj nema mnogo empirijskih uvida u hrvatskom društvu mapiranjem životno stilskoga obrasca pristalica i protivnika transhumanizma ne samo na teorijskoj, već i praktičnoj razini, čime je promaknut iz znanstvene fantastike u sferu svakodnevice naznačujući skromno, ali ipak prisutno približavanje studenata perspektivi transhumanizma čije društvene implikacije tek treba istražiti.

Predmet ovog istraživanja je ekonomija dijeljenja koja predstavlja socio-ekonomski fenomen temeljen na suvremenoj tehnologiji. Svrha ovog rada temelji se na terminološkom razgraničenju ekonomije dijeljenja koju neki autori svrstavaju u hibridne modalitete koji polaze od analitičkog pristupa kreiranja i dijeljenja vrijednosti temeljene na participativnom pristupu angažmana i potrošnje, kao principa iz kojih ovaj koncept crpi prednosti, lakoću primjene i lakoću ulaska na isto gotovo bez barijera. Analitičkim pristupom studija slučaja najvećih kolaborativnih tvrtki poput Ubera i Airbnb-a i pragmatičkim zaključcima proizašlim iz korigiranja, usavršavanja i specijalizacije platformi za kompatibilan transfer vrijednosti proizvoda u odnosu na tehnologije a sukladno potražnji, doprinos u radu sadržan je u pregledu znanstvenih stavova vezano uz ekonomiju dijeljenja, njezine relativno kratke povijesti ali radikalnih promjena koje su uvele u trgovinu nove proizvode i principe koji su u nekim područjima razmjene u potpunosti supstituirali prethodne postojeće modalitete tradicionalne trgovine. Kritički pristup koji definira nove uvjete očituje u izraženijoj fleksibilnosti i efikasnosti na tržištu u cjelini ali i nedostatne regulatorne pravne okvire za subjekte na ovim tržištima na prostoru EU i RH, ali isto tako pozitivne učinke i društveno prihvatljive statuse koje prikupljaju akteri-subjekti i korisnici, usmjereni politici odgovornog ponašanja i razvojnoj politici održivosti.

Cijena se po svojoj kompleksnosti razlikuje od ostalih elemenata marketinškog spleta te je u marketinškoj literaturi u određenoj mjeri zanemarena. Određivanje cijena i upravljanje njima u strateškom i taktičkom smislu oduvijek je bilo izazovno te su brojni čimbenici koji se pritom moraju uzeti u obzir, poput profita tvrtke, željenog imidža, konkurencije, zakonskih ograničenja i ciljnih kupaca. Tehnologija je sve učinila transparentnijim i lakšim za praćenje, uključujući i cijene. Razvoj multikanalnog okruženja prvenstveno je pod utjecajem razvoja tehnologije koja omogućuje multikanalni pristup i maloprodavačima i kupcima. Zbog toga je cilj ovoga rada istaknuti važnost upravljanja cijenama u multikanalnom okruženju i izazovima koje donosi. Nadalje, cilj je i utvrditi stanje multikanalnog okruženja na hrvatskom tržištu, i na strani ponude i na strani potražnje. U tu svrhu provedena je studija slučaja vodećih 10 maloprodavača pretežito prehrambenim proizvodima te su analizirane njihove cjenovne i prodajne aktivnosti. Na 305 kupaca provedeno je primarno istraživanje korištenjem visoko strukturiranog upitnika kojim se saznalo u kojoj mjeri su kupci prihvatili različite mogućnosti informiranja o cijenama. Rezultati ukazuju na to da maloprodavači, a posljedično i kupci, relativno sporo prihvaćaju mogućnosti multikanalnog okruženja.

Background/Aim. The geometry of each bone in the human skeletal system is unique. The aim of this research was to present application of a new method, method of anatomical features (MAF), for the creation of the geometrical model (surface and solid) of the human mandible. Methods. The method was based on Referential Geometrical Entities (RGEs) which have been defined on mandible polygonal model in accordance with anatomical properties of the mandible. Polygonal model was created over the input data (anatomical landmarks of the mandible) acquired from computed tomography scans. For the creation of computer-aided design (CAD) models in CATIA software, referential geometrical entities were defined according to the bone geometry and morphology features. Results. Definition of B-spline curves was performed on the body and on the ramus of the mandible. In this way, it was possible to create the geometrically accurate and anatomically correct three-dimensional geometric (surface and solid) models. The accuracy of the obtained surface model was tested through comparison with the geometry of the original bone model. Conclusion. Despite national and international guidelines recommending inclusion of psychotherapy and psychosocial interventions as regular part of treatment for patients with psychosis spectrum disorders (PSD), outpatient psychiatric care in Southeastern Europe (SEE) is mostly limited to medication prescription. DIALOG+ is a recently developed technology-based, patient centered psychosocial intervention that provides an economically viable intervention for treatment and comprehensive evaluation of multiple life domains. Its effectiveness in a range of psychiatric disorders has been shown in several studies conducted in high-income countries. Before an ongoing study evaluating DIALOG+ implementation and effectiveness in developing SEE countries is completed, we aimed to explore general impressions of mental health clinicians towards such an intervention and to compare the duration of treatment as usual (TAU) with DIALOG+ enriched appointments of PSD outpatients. The attendees of the national professional educational symposium were presented with DIALOG+, after which they completed a short survey on their general impressions towards the intervention. To obtain the information regarding duration of psychiatric appointments for patients with PSD in Serbia, we used data from a currently ongoing randomized clinical trial where DIALOG+ is being tested for effectiveness. The impressions of the survey (n=110) from mostly psychiatrists and psychiatry residents towards the concept of this intervention were overwhelmingly positive. However, the question arose if TAU is being prolonged by DIALOG+ to the extent that might limit its implementation. Although significant difference in average session duration was observed between DIALOG+ and TAU (31.96±16.47 vs. 19.75±6.11 minutes, p<0.01), providing structured interventions and patient evaluation might be of additional benefit for long term care and quality of life of PSD patients. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first evaluation of the duration of psychiatric appointments for outpatients with PSD in Serbia. Technological development is advancing more rapidly than regulatory regimes. The adaptability of regulatory regimes and integration with technological advances are hindered by cumbersome legislative and bureaucratic processes. The wind of change which technology brings to the world has blown through the maritime industry as with many other industries. This article seeks to discuss the areas of maritime law which will be affected by the introduction of unmanned vessels and will consider ways to sidestep or deal with potential quagmires in the light of this inevitable technological development.
