- Abstract

In this master thesis, the aim is to examine the efficiency of ultrafiltration (UF) membranes in removing Magic Blue dyes and contaminants from textile model solutions. The influence of the molecular weight cut-off (MWCO), the influence of the matrix of solutions and the influence of the concentration of dyes in solutions were observed. Four UF membranes in the form of flat sheets were used, namely: 2, 3, 5 and 10 kDa membranes and three textile model solutions: dye solution in demineralized water, model solution and model freshwater solution. The analysis of the samples gives results for the following parameters: turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), electrical conductivity (κ) and color intensity. In addition to these parameters, the flow during treatment was monitored. The examined UF membranes showed high efficiency in removing turbidity and color intensity (mostly > 90,0 %), and depending on the previously mentioned influences, the efficiency changed by κ (13,0 % - 90,0 %) and COD (41,7 % - 97,8 %). The flows were most stable for the 2 and 3 kDa membranes, which showed the best results in removing dyes and contaminants from solutions.

Usporedba prikaza jugoslavenske tekstilne ponude i razvoja jugoslavenske mode uz pomoć analize časopisa Svijet, Vuna i Tina tijekom socijalizma glavni je cilj ovoga diplomskoga rada. This master thesis aims to compare the Yugoslav textile supply and the developing Yugoslav fashion through the analysis of Svijet, Vuna and Tina magazines during the period of socialism. The analysis of the magazines' content strives to investigate their role in order to understand how they influenced the development of Yugoslav fashion culture. The first part of this master thesis presents the political situation of the world in the second half of the twentieth century, and continues with a more detailed review of the economic situation in the Yugoslavia and Croatian textile industry. As woman became emancipated at their workplaces, it was important to also focus on their daily lives, work organization and the way the factories operated. The second part of the thesis is based on the research of media sources and it reveals how the Yugoslav clothing culture developed.

Textile industry, because of its complex textile manufacturing processes which require huge amounts of fresh water, generates also huge amounts of waste water which poses a dangerous threat to the environment. Increasingly strict regulations, lack of drinking water and requirements to reduce the size of wastewater treatment plants put new technologies for wastewater treatment with membrane bioreactor (MBR) in the first place. MBR is defined as a device that combines biological processes of wastewater treatment with activated sludge and membrane processes. The aim of this study was to investigate how a change in the concentration of activated sludge affects the treatment of textile wastewater (TWW) with a laboratory MBR device with ultrafiltration (UF) hollow fiber membrane. The properties of the real sample of textile wastewater of the textile company Galeb d.d. Omiš were tracked before and after treatment (permeate) for a period of seven days at a higher concentration of activated sludge between 11,59 and 14,85 g/L and seven days at a lower concentration in the range of 7,50 g/L to 8,98 g/L. Determined physicochemical parameters on the influent and permeate samples were pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total carbon (TC), inorganic carbon (IC), total organic carbon (TOC), absorbance at 436 nm, 525 nm and 620 nm, concentration of suspended solids (TSS) and the concentration of Cl-, SO42-, Na +, K +, Ca2 + and Mg2 + ions. In permeate, the turbidity was reduced for > 99,8 % for a higher concentration of activated sludge and by 99,5 - 99,8 % for a lower concentration, and suspended particles were completely removed. COD, TC and TOC were reduced by 90,7 - 93,0 %, 54,3 - 62,5 % and 79,8 - 85,6 % at a activated sludge concentration of 11,59 - 14,85 g/L. At lower concentrations of activated sludge 7,50 - 8,98 g/L TC and TOC were reduced by 66,4 - 73,8 % and 79,9 - 87,0 %. Color was reduced by 94,5 - 96,7 % at higher sludge concentrations and by 93,2 - 96,4 % at lower concentracion. The obtained results indicate that MBR technology is extremely acceptable for TOV processing and that UF membranes are successful in removing suspended particles and color from TWW.

- Abstract
Količina boje koja se vezela za vunu, tj. koja je ostala u rastvoru, praćena je UV-Vis spektroskopijom., Considering that the textile industry is an evergrowing industry and its growth directly contributes to economic growth, the interest in developement is strongly dependent with developing new colorants. On the other hand, colored effluent from the textile industry cause water pollution which has an acute effect on the enviorment. The reduction of dye waste and toxicity represents a global problem. As state-of-the art showed pyridine ring allows excellent sublimation fastness for dying wool fibers, wherein azo dyes show brilliant chromophoric strength. Herein, we present the wool dyed with two pyridone based azo dyes bearing pyridinium ring as a substituent. The aim of this work is to reduce the water waste by using the same dyebath for dying wool multiple times. The amount of the dye absorbed on the fabric is determined by the absorption spectra of the dye solution used in the dyebath, followed by the UV-Vis spectra. Therefore the principle of reusing the same dyebath multiple times were determined, wherein the concentration of the dye in the final product is reduced.

- Abstract
The textile industry is one of the industries with the highest water consumption in its production process. The general characteristic of wastewater from the textile industry is, primarily, the high content of organic matters and high coloration. From the aspect of environmental protection, the conditions for wastewater discharge are becoming more stringent, while the application of environmentally and economically acceptable adsorbents for wastewater treatment is a great challenge today. For this reason, the possibility of using cationic adsorbents based on natural starch material to remove methyl orange (MO) from aqueous solutions was investigated. Two cationic starch derivatives were used, starch modified with glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride (CS-G) and starch modified with betaine hydrochloride (CS-B). Surface functional groups were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), while the morphology of the material was examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In order to determine the optimal reaction conditions, the kinetics of adsorption, adsorption isotherms, as well as the influence of pH values were examined. Based on the obtained adsorption capacities under optimal conditions, the efficiencies of MO removal from aqueous media were determined. The adsorption of other anionic and cationic dyes was also investigated. The tested cationic starches proved to be effective adsorbents for the removal of MO and other anionic (alizarin red S, ARS), but also cationic (methylene blue, MB and brilliant green, BG) dyes from aqueous solutions.

To dokazuju ključni čimbenici poput količine i kretanja objavljenih stručnih i znanstvenih radova, razvoja koautorstva i suradnje, produktivnosti i oblika znanstvenog komuniciranja stručnjaka i znanstvenika tekstilne struke. The basic human need for clothing has given rise to the production of textiles, which with its millennial tradition of handicrafts has transformed from one of the oldest manufactures to one of the most important industries in general. A key role in the development was played by scientific research work, which was preceded by hundreds of years of application of empirical research methods. Following the world trends, textile in Croatia has grown from a profession to textile technology, a scientific field within the field of technical sciences. The aim of this paper is to understand the background of the development of textile profession in the scientific discipline of textile technology in Croatia. The purpose of the research is to contribute to textile technology as an important factor in science and economy in Croatia, since a comprehensive research on this issue has not been done so far. The research methodology is based on a quantitative and qualitative approach. The quantitative approach was conducted through a bibliometric analysis of the journal Tekstil as a relevant indicator of the development of textile technology in the period from 1952 to 2018 in Croatia. The qualitative approach is based on interviews with eminent experts in the field. The results of the bibliometric analysis of the journal Tekstil showed that the journal is an objective indicator of the process of development of textile technology in Croatia. This is evidenced by key factors such as the volume and trends of published professional and scientific papers, the development of co-authorship and collaboration, productivity and forms of scientific communication of textile professionals and scientists. The international visibility of Croatian textile technology, measured through the magazine Tekstil, is less pronounced due to the absence of a larger share of foreign authors as well as the language barrier of published works. The attitudes of the respondents are in line with the results of the quantitative research, which showed the complementary purpose of the qualitative approach. The journal Tekstil as a means of communication in textile technology in Croatia, given the representative number of years (N = 67), fully outlines the development of the textile profession in textile technology. There are numerous indicators of the initial progress, and later a certain regress of the magazine, which is largely a reflection of changes in textile technology in Croatia. Through the journal Tekstil, many generations of experts and scientists have advanced, but due to certain internal and external factors, the journal is gradually losing its role as a key communication medium in monitoring the development of scientific discipline.

Industrial wastewater is generally not similar to municipal wastewater when it comes to its structure. To ensure the quality, which is determined by the Decree on the emission of substances and heat when discharging waste water into waters and the public sewage system (Official Gazette RS, No 64/12, 64/14 and 98/15), the regulation for the relevant industry and Environmental permit, industrial wastewater needs to achieve an appropriate purity level before it can be released into public sewage or surface waters. In the master thesis I, using a concrete example from the paper and textile industry, determined the characteristics of wastewater, examined the legislative restrictions and, based on the results, proposed applicable technological treatment to ensure sufficient quality for the release into public sewage. Due to the exceeded level of COD and coloration in the paper industry wastewater, I proposed treatment with MBR technology with subsequent oxidation using ozone. Textile industry wastewater contained excessive concentration of suspended solids, anionic and non-ionic surfactants as well as an insufficient pH level, which is why I suggested coagulation treatment with Al2O3 and sedimentation in the lamellar sedimentation tank. PH levels were increased by adding 30% NaOH, while the concentration of anionic and non-ionic surfactants decreased with the adsorption on active carbon. In addition to that, I performed an economic analysis of the proposed measures and compared them with an alternative possibility of wastewater’s transit to a central purification plant in order to execute the treatment process.

Ovo djelo je dano na korištenje pod licencom Creative Commons Imenovanje 4.0 međunarodna., Wastewater from the textile industry belongs to the category of the most polluted industrial wastewaters and poses a special danger to the aquatic environment. The aim of this study was to examine the membrane retention efficiency of textile wastewater (TOV) with commercial ultrafiltration (UF) membranes (GH, GK, PT, PU, PW, MW) with a wide range of molecular weight cut-off (MWCO), 2–50 kDa. The tested UF membranes resulted in a reduction in colour and colour intensity from 56.35 % to 97.93 %. Membrane of lower MWCO values (below 3 kDa) may be suitable for removing dyes from the real TOV sample. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

Diplomska naloga obravnava razvoj mode ob nastanku Sovjetske zveze leta 1917 in mu sledi do vzpona Stalinove kulturne politike socialističnega realizma. This diploma thesis deals with the development of fashion at the formation of the Soviet Union in 1917 and follows it to the rise of Stalin's cultural policy of socialist realism. Initially, the thesis outlines the historical background and social conditions between the revolutionary years of 1905 and 1917. A brief outline of events between the October Revolution and the rise of socialism spotlights the role of artists in the construction of a new state. The central part of the diploma thesis is dedicated to avant-garde artists who have created in the field of textile art and their ideas for a new Soviet fashion. The problems faced by artists are highlighted, from economic and ideological, which have led to divisions between the art movements. These made it difficult to reach the goal of establishing mass textile production for the needs of the proletariat. The thesis is concluded by the last failed attempt to establish a textile industry, which led to the realization that artists themselves were not strong enough to create a completely new clothing culture. With Stalin's rise to power, ideals and influences returned to fashion as they were before the revolution.

tekstilna industrija ,textile industry - Abstract
V raziskavi so sodelovali učenci 6. in 8. razreda osnovne šole. Izvedenih je bilo 8 fokusnih skupin, 4 v 6. razredu in 4 v 8. razredu. Obleka in blagovne znamke oblačil so učencem 8. razreda v primerjavi s 6. razredom bolj pomembna, saj z njimi naredijo vtis na prijatelje in vrstnike. Clothing plays an important role in establishing the identity of adolescents, and contributes to their self-confidence. This is one of the reasons, why young people are one of the largest consumers in the clothing and textile market. When impulsively buying new clothes that will "refresh" our wardrobe, we increasingly forget what kind of impact the clothes has on the environment. In the last decade, organic clothing has started to appear on the market, which is environmentally more friendly alternative to mass production of low-quality textiles and clothing. However, organic clothing, due to its higher price and less attractive appearance, is still consumer second choice. Through a group discussion within focus groups in 6th and 8th grade, we wanted to find out if students are aware of the negative impacts of the textile industry on the environment. We were also interested in how they interpret the term green shopping. We also wanted to find out what importance 6th and 8th grade students attach to clothing, brands, and whether they pay attention to their material and origin when buying clothes. We also wanted to investigate how the treatment of purchased clothes differs between 6th and 8th grade students. 6th and 8th grade elementary school students participated in the research. There were 8 focus groups, 4 in 6th grade and 4 in 8th grade. The groups in which the conversation took place consisted of 6 to 8 randomly selected students. We found that the awareness of both, 6th and 8th grade students is good. They are aware of the impact of textile industry on the environment, and can suggest solutions that can mitigate its negative effects. The term green shopping is better known to 6th graders, but 8th graders can interpret it in a similar way. Clothing and branded clothing are more important to 8th graders compared to 6th graders, as they are more inclined to impress their friends. Even when buying clothes, 8th grade students pay less attention to the material and origin of clothes than 6th grade students. The main factor of purchase for 8th grade students is the appearance and price of the product, while 6th grade students pay attention to the quality, material and comfort of the clothes. 6th graders wear clothes as long as they are big enough, are not torn, or until they still like them. Compared to 6th grade, 8th grade students mostly wear clothes until they get tired of them. Used clothes from 6th and 8th grade students are donated to relatives, friends or charities (Humana, Red Cross).

The paper analyzes the economic and cultural aspects of the textile industry in Međimurje based on the three most important textile factories. WORK-related injuries , *CIVIL engineering , *CONSTRUCTION industry accidents , *INDUSTRIAL safety ,TEXTILE industry accidents - Abstract
The purpose of this investigation is to analyze and compare the average annual rate of occupational injuries in the textile and the civil engineering industries for the period from 1997 to 2006. In order to investigate these occupational injuries, data was gathered from four textile and two construction companies. The chi-square test and the arithmetic mean were used as statistical tools in assessing the results. The numbers of injuries in both industry branches were compared by the day of the week, by the month and according to the time of day. The research findings indicate that the continuous use of preventive measures of occupational safety can considerably affect the reduction of occupational injuries and labor productivity.
