Abstract The present research proposes two different studies to analyse the thermal behaviour of a building in the city of Madrid, located in Apolo-nio Morales street, 29. The first case analyses how the thermoactivated floor of heterogeneous section works. The second case focuses in the thermal influence of reflective blinds to avoid radiation losses. The methodology is based on a rigorous experimentation through the collection data "in situ", supported by the monitoring of the build-ing in addition to thermographic technology. The experimentation of simulated prototypes in the UPM's energy efficiency laboratory vali-dates the procedure. A characterization of the slab is defined and the influence of thermal behaviour of the building has been obtained. On the other hand, the reflective blinds analysed in open box have determined a big difference between exterior and interior temperatures. However, these measurements are balanced afterwards. The study of these strategies, which improve the energy efficiency of the building, is analysed quantitatively to measure its influences. Both resources of this building represent an innovation and subject of study, since the consulted bibliography has not been characterized yet. Resumen El presente trabajo de investigación propone un estudio para el análisis de la influencia térmica de estores reflectivos para evitar pérdidas por radiación y el análisis del comportamiento térmico de un forjado termoactivado de sección heterogénea del edificio Apolonio Morales N°29 de la ciudad de Madrid. Su metodología se basa en un riguroso análisis experimental, mediante la recolección de datos “in situ” a través de la monitorización del edificio, la tecnología termográfica y experimentación de prototipos simulados en el laboratorio de eficiencia energética de la UPM. Como resultado se ha obtenido una caracterización del forjado y la influencia que genera cada material en el comportamiento térmico del edifi-co. Por otro lado, los estores reflectivos al analizarlos térmicamente en cámara abierta se ha obtenido que en las primeras series de medición existe un cambio muy diferenciado entre las temperaturas internas y externas, sin embargo, estas mediciones se equilibran a posterior. El estudio de estas estrategias, que mejoran la eficiencia energética del edificio, se analiza de manera cuantitativa para medir sus influen-cias. Ambos recursos de este edificio representan una innovación y tema de estudio, ya que en la bibliografía consultada aún no se ha caracterizado los temas de investigación planteados.

DEMO fusion reactor divertor is expected to extract a heat flux of about 10 MW/m 2 . One of the most promising concept design for it is the W-monoblock, which should be connected to a CuCrZr or an advanced Cu ODS alloy pipe passing through the W component. Since the optimum operating temperature windows for W and existing Cu alloys are far away from overlapping, a suited interface is needed to keep the adjacent materials as close as possible to their respective temperature operating windows. The interface material should therefore have a low enough thermal conductivity to act as a thermal barrier and a thermal expansion coefficient suited to protect the W-pipe joint from stresses induced by the different thermo-mechanical properties of W and Cu-alloys. As interface materials we have considered Cu-ZrO 2 composites produced by powder metallurgy route. Such materials can be realized in an unexpected large compositional range (up to at least 90% ZrO 2 volume concentration) and be easily further joined to both W and Cu-alloys by an electrical field assisted technology. We analyse their microstructure and thermo-physical properties both as single materials and included in W-thermal barrier-CuCrZr 3-layers systems in comparison to those of previously produced Cu-ased composites and commercially available Cu foams. For DEMO fusion reactor an expected heat flux of about 10 MW/m 2 should be extracted by the divertor which will have, most likely, an armour part made of W and a following heat sink part made of Cu or ODS Cu alloy. Unfortunately, for these materials the optimum operating temperature windows do not overlap. Thermal barrier materials are interface materials included in such components, aiming to keep the temperatures of both armour and heat sink parts in the corresponding operating windows, and to mitigate the effects of their different thermomechanical properties. Here we propose a simple spark plasma sintering route to create Cu-based composites with a high content (10–40 vol%) of various dispersed materials (Al or Y oxides, C, SiC), allowing a fine tuning of the content and a large pool of predefined shapes and dimensions. The resulting specimens can be further joined to armour and heatsink components via a similar electrical field assisted technology. Micro-structural and thermal properties are investigated for these materials allowing to select the most suited materials in view of their thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficients. Anodization, a traditional route to the fabrication of dense protective coatings or coatings with ordered arrays of pores, is used to fabricate thick coatings of zirconia. The initial transients in high current density that characterize the formation of a stable pore assembly are followed by a long period of gradually diminishing growth rate during which tubes of zirconia grow inwards into the Zr substrate. Following optimization of the voltage and electrolyte composition, coatings of 120 and 200 μm may be grown in 6 and 24 h. It is shown that diffusion of ions in solution towards the oxide-electrolyte interface is rate controlling, leading to parabolic growth kinetics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
