Translation is an essential tool for the development of nations. The importance of translation is vast and multidimensional. This work concerns the translation of the document on agricultural developmental project. It is the document on the development of agriculture in Africa, a project designed by France for Africa. This work is limited to the areas of translation of specialized texts, that is to say a text in agriculture, it is a pragmatic text. We are interested in the translation of this text because we want to see if the translator translated this document correctly. The aim of this work is to highlight the strong and weak points of such a translation. We gave our recommendations to minimize certain gaps that may exist in this translation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

André Adorján (1883, Szombathely, Hongrie–1966, Eaubonne, France) était un traducteur et journaliste à succès qui, ayant vécu à Paris sans interruption à partir de 1919, était bien intégré dans les cercles intellectuels français. Il est, avec Ladislas Gara, celui qui a le plus contribué à faire découvrir la littérature hongroise en France entre les années 1920 et la fin des années 1940. Il a ainsi promu la littérature hongroise contemporaine grâce à ses traductions de pièces de théâtre hongroises et aux articles et extraits de traduction qu'il a publiés dans des journaux français. Membre à la fois de l'Institut de retraite des journalistes hongrois et du Syndicat des journalistes français, il a gardé sa double nationalité jusqu'à sa mort. Les recherches sur la littérature hongroise, la presse et l'histoire locale n'ont jusqu'à présent porté que sur la phase hongroise de l'œuvre d'Adorján, jusqu'à la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale. Dans mon étude, je présenterai sa vie, son travail d'écrivain, de journaliste, de traducteur et d'éditeur, et j'analyserai ses activités de promotion de la littérature hongroise ainsi que la correspondance qui m'est parvenue. Adorján n'a pas laissé d'héritage littéraire connu, mais quelque trois cents de ses lettres sont conservées dans divers fonds d'archives. Les documents le concernant pour la première moitié du XXe siècle ne sont que sporadiquement disponibles, mais ses lettres écrites à des écrivains et journalistes entre 1947 et 1966 peuvent être lues comme un roman épistolaire. In terms of theatrical experience, the Italian nineteenth century is a special case on the European scene. The activity of dramatic writing and the scenic realization of the peninsula depend on French dramaturgy and Parisian repertoires. With this contribution, and thanks to a small corpus of fifteen unpublished texts from the 1830s, I propose to analyse the manuscripts of the Italian translations of Eugène Scribe's work. We will examine the linguistic, cultural and structural interventions practised by the actress-adaptor Gaetana Rosa in her Italian translation for the Compagnia Reale Sarda. We will discover that the constraints imposed by the geopolitical context and the economic constraints of the theatre strongly influence the translation process and the evolution of prose in Italy. Les études analytiques de la littérature francophone du Maghreb ont historiquement été fondées sur une confguration de scission, voire de schize des langues. En effet, le français a toujours été considéré dans une diglossie avec la/les langue.s locale.s, à savoir principalement l’arabe dialectal (Leïla Sebbar, Je ne parle pas la langue de mon père, 2003), le judéo-arabe (Jacques Derrida, Le Monolinguisme de l’Autre, 1996), mais aussi l’amazigh (Assia Djebar, La Disparition de la langue française, 2003). Cette représentation, de nature anxiogène, a perduré jusqu’à l’avènement d’une poétique plus « égalitaire », incarnée par la posture de l’écrivain marocain A. Khatibi. Mais plus encore, en discriminant les parlers locaux, elle reproduit le même irrespect de la préservation des « espèces » de langues (JeanLouis Calvet, Pour une écologie des langues du monde, 1999) que celui subi par l’environnement aujourd’hui et dont témoignent les études écologiques. Cette contribution tentera d’élucider les composantes de cet héritage « bancal » fait d’effacements et de disparitions, et fera émerger des « Noé », c’est-à-dire des écrivains qui ont développé une vision où l’infltration de la langue maternelle modife l’ADN de l’écriture en français, témoignant de la coprésence de toutes les langues dans la chair de cette écriture.

The translation of poetry stands out as a particular practice within translation, due to the complexity of the source text. As a metaphorical and emotional genre, poetry imposes a number of constraints on its translators: an edition with the original text, a translator who is a poet or who is sensitive to poetry, and a reflection on literature and language (rhythm, metrics, versification, rhyme, verse). This study will analyse what French-speaking critics have written about the translation of poetry in the last half-century, since the rise of translation studies: Béguin, Bensimon, Berman, Birkan-Berz, Bonnefoy, Deguy, Etkind, Jaccottet, Jakobson, Ladmiral, Lombez, Meschonnic, Roubaud, Roud, Scotto, Tsvetaieva, Vischer. In conclusion, we will make a proposal for the treatment of poetry as realia.

This study is in line with research projects on the international circulation of knowledge and the role of translation in the transmission of knowledge from one scientific and linguistic community to another. In this article, we propose to trace the presence of the theory of Antoine Berman, a French translator and theorist of translation, in theoretical writings related to translation in Poland. By means of a scientometric method, we analyse all the references to Berman made by Polish theorists of translation of different backgrounds (different universities, working languages, fields of research) in their scientific articles published in three journals: Między Oryginałem a Przekładem, Przekładaniec and Rocznik Przekładoznawczy. Our aim is to study the way in which Berman’s thought emerges, functions and circulates in the texts in question, and to emphasize the role of translation in the transmission of Berman’s theory among Polish scholars.

André Gide was very attached to the question of translation, both as an attentive reader of foreign authors and as a translator himself. He shared his translational observations in numerous writings, two of which we have chosen as the subject of our analysis. These are the foreword to Pushkin’s La Dame de Pique retranslation (1923) and the foreword to Shakespeare’s Théâtre published in French by Gallimard in 1938. In a comparative approach drawing on the methods of enunciative analysis, we study the modalities and stakes of the quotation in the two texts in order to show the evolution in the way Gide constructed his enunciative position and point of view.

Notre étude porte sur la traduction de l’ironie situationnelle du roman Une vie de Guy de Maupassant. Après avoir défini l’ironie et avoir discuté de ses marques et de ses conditions, nous mettrons en parallèle l’ironie verbale et l’ironie situationnelle afin de faire ressortir leurs traits spécifiques. Les deux s’appuient sur un écart, mais la manière dont l’écart est exprimé est différente. L’ironie situationnelle est finement tissée dans le récit et comporte des marques plus subtiles que l’ironie verbale, étant souvent une ironie filée. Pour cette raison, la réception de l’ironie situationnelle est parfois difficile et implique une analyse macro et microtextuelle, tout comme la connivence du lecteur. La traduction en anglais et en roumain de quelques séquences visant des personnages-type du roman Une vie sera examinée dans la partie finale de notre travail. Seront ainsi analysés les prototypes suivants : la jeune fille aux aspirations romantiques, le noble déchu, le prêtre, la vieille fille, le paysan normand. Les deux tendances extrêmes observées lors de l’analyse comparative sont la surtraduction et la sous-traduction.

L’étude des oeuvres traduites par Belleforest durant un quart de siècle révèle, sans surprise, l’absence chez lui d’une réflexion sur la question cruciale de la « fidélité ». Il est en revanche très disert sur les motifs de cette pratique et ses objectifs. C’est que sa conception du rôle de traducteur va bien au-delà d’un passeur de textes et d’idées. Ses discours d’escorte en particulier révèlent qu’il envisage le traducteur comme un collaborateur de l’auteur étranger ou même un auteur en second, dont l’autorité s’affirme de multiples manières au point qu’il s’imagine comme un auteur de plein exercice.

En raison de la chronicité de la plupart des maladies sous-jacentes des patients bénéficiant d'une nutrition entérale à domicile (NED), la qualité de vie est un critère d'évaluation important pour le suivi de l'impact de cette intervention dans leur vie quotidienne. L'ESPEN (European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism) recommande l'utilisation d'un questionnaire spécifique comme le NutriQoL®, le seul questionnaire évaluant spécifiquement la qualité de vie des patients sous NED, indépendamment de la maladie sous-jacente et de la voie d'administration de la nutrition. Ce questionnaire comprend 17 items qui évaluent la qualité de vie selon des dimensions physiques et sociales. Le NutriQoL®, développé et validé en espagnol, a été récemment traduit dans d'autres langues, dont le français. La version traduite et culturellement adaptée du NutriQoL® à la population française, est un instrument qui se veut efficace pour évaluer la qualité de vie des patients francophones sous NED. L'objectif de cette mise au point est de décrire le processus de traduction et d'adaptation culturelle du NutriQol® français et d'expliquer son utilisation pour faciliter sa dissémination. This article examines the English translations of former Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha's statements on the international stage and the shifts in the first-person pronoun. Looking at interpersonal positioning through a systemic functional linguistic lens, we found that the translations underline the explicitness of agency, highlighting the variation of stylistic choices and interplay with source-text politics. The shifts come with a modified degree of willingness, a more active agency, an increase in the modality of inclination, and more force in attitude. These interpersonal overtones largely contribute to recasting the image of the Thai government to ensure its legitimacy, promote national unity, and appeal to the international community. These crafted translated texts seem to hone the leader's public persona in front of global audiences by continuing to enhance the country's reputation, thereby maintaining the speaker's dignity and prestige–an essential for the national leader's image. The translation and reception of contemporary Chinese literature into Portuguese have gained prominence recently but have not received much scholarly attention. This study employs Pierre Bourdieu's concept of homology to analyze the relationship between translation and various related fields and their impact on translating Chinese contemporary literature in Brazil and Portugal from 2000 to 2022. It highlights how these fields' interconnectedness has both facilitated and hindered translation practices. The research explores the notion of fields and homology and examines the translation production process, focusing on how the translation field interacts with its academic, educational, and political counterparts. Using the translation of contemporary Chinese literature into Portuguese as a case study, the article suggests that the structural similarity among these fields significantly affects how Chinese literature is translated and received, influencing the choice of works, translation methods, and publishing priorities. Through an extensive analysis, the study bridges Bourdieu's homology concept with practical scenarios, enhancing the discourse in translation studies and Chinese literature, particularly in the Portuguese context. Relying on concepts from Ferenczi's "Confusion of Tongues between Adults and the Child," I suggest that the analytic enterprise consists of a metaphorical translation of passionately disrupted experience into tender, integrated terms, in the here and now analytic moment. To demonstrate this, I trace the narrative in the principal speeches in Plato's Symposium whose themes of virtuous love, regression to oneness, and confrontation with lack provide a rubric for key aspects of the psychoanalytic process. An extended clinical case presentation is used to highlight the themes in the Platonic dialogue while ideas from Ferenczi's con- tributions to clinical psychoanalysis are linked to the material throughout. I end with a reflection on the centrality of the process of translation in psychoanalytic work while suggesting future directions for inquiry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Whether directed at adults or children, popularization can be viewed as a process of "translating" and "recontextualizing" expert discourse for a lay audience. In fact, knowledge dissemination for children appears to entail an additional form of "translation," given their limited background knowledge. This "re-translation" often occurs on dedicated websites based on "edutainment." While most museum websites function as promotional tools or as agents of knowledge dissemination, a small number of them are targeted at children and offer texts that insert museum objects in a broader context. By means of a small case study, this paper explores how knowledge is popularized and presented in two science museum websites: the Natural History Museum (NHM) in London and OLogy, the science website for children of the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York. From a corpus-linguistic and discourse-analysis perspective, our interest lies in how popularization takes shape in these two websites, the former intended for different age groups and the latter explicitly addressing children. Quantitative and qualitative results show similarities and dissimilarities, thus accounting for different types of popularization as forms of translation. This paper addresses the challenge museums of catastrophic history face, striving to translate between history and memory in creating a meaningful and sensitive experience for individual visitors, not only evoking the past but also impacting the present and future. This study focuses on the Jewish Museum Berlin and asks how the museum can impact individual visitor journeys and concurrently address the public demand for memory, the contradictions between museum mission and public perception, and the perceived distance of visitors from historical events. The study builds on memory and translation studies research and the concepts of history, story, and identity. An analysis of entangled memory (Feindt et al. 2014), here applied as an inspiration for generational translation, shows how the crossover between memory and translation studies provides insight into the work of memory museums. Previous research and the history, mission, identity, architecture, and conflicts of the Jewish Museum Berlin show that museums – as (unfinished) collective memories – allow the creation of space for individual reflection and the interpretation of past and present to create a narrative. The work of memory museums is complex, but the concepts of generational translation and entangled memory are valuable tools in provoking and enabling meaningful experience and reflection. Cet article est basé sur une recherche dont l’objectif est de déterminer les modalités de circulation de la littérature de langue française traduite en croate à partir de 1991. Nous nous intéressons principalement à la place de la littérature de langue française dans les catalogues des maisons d’édition croates, aux critères de sélection des titres à traduire, aux subventions disponibles, à la coopération avec les différents acteurs du champ littéraire et aux stratégies marketing utilisées pour promouvoir les livres traduits. Après une présentation de l’industrie de l’édition croate et des traductions littéraires du français entre 1991 et 2020, nous traitons et analysons les données recueillies par le biais d’une enquête adressée aux éditeurs croates via la plateforme en ligne LimeSurvey. Ensuite, nous présentons nos conclusions concernant la circulation des textes littéraires français dans la culture croate à partir de 1991, la position de la littérature traduite dans la culture et la société croates, les conditions sociales de la production littéraire, la logique du marché, la structure du champ littéraire et la circulation transnationale des textes littéraires.

Que pensent les enseignants de langues de l’Éducation nationale du recours à d’autres langues que celles qu’ils enseignent ? Alternent-ils les langues ? Pourquoi ? Avec quelles fréquences et dans quelles situations ? Ce sont les principales questions auxquelles cet article apporte des éléments de réponses. Les résultats issus d’un questionnaire rempli par 523 enseignants exerçant dans les trois paliers de l’Éducation nationale algérienne (Primaire, Moyen et Secondaire) permettent de conclure que la majorité d’entre eux déclarent utiliser d’autres langues en classe. Cependant, cette pratique demeure encore très stigmatisée par plusieurs de nos enquêtés. Par ailleurs, ceux qui recourent à d’autres langues le font principalement pour favoriser la compréhension et pour remédier aux blocages de leurs apprenants. Les objectifs relatifs, par exemple, à la sensibilisation des apprenants aux transferts positifs entre les langues ou au développement de la compétence plurilingue ne sont évoqués que par une infime minorité. Abstract What do national education language teachers think of using other languages than they teach? Do they use code switching? Why? With what frequencies and in which situations? These are the main questions to which elements of answers this article provides. The results of a questionnaire have been fulfilled by 523 teachers who are instructing in the three levels of Algerian National Education (Primary, Middle and Secondary) allow us to conclude that the majority of them proclaim that they use other languages in the classroom. However, this process is still very stigmatized by many of our respondents. In addition, those who are supposed use other languages are mainly to promote understanding and to remedy the obstacles and difficulties of their learners. Among the goals and objectives is raising learners' awareness of positive shifts between languages or the development of multilingual competence are only mentioned by a tiny minority.

Cet article aborde les défis liés à l’établissement des équivalences terminologiques entre le russe et le français dans le domaine de la linguistique. Il met en lumière la manière dont les variations terminologiques sont amplifiées par les divergences dans la perception des notions et la représentation linguistique des faits et des phénomènes du langage, qui présentent des caractéristiques particulières par rapport aux objets d’étude des autres disciplines scientifiques. Ces écarts conceptuels et langagiers constituent le principal obstacle à la traduction des textes scientifiques, en particulier lorsqu’il s’agit d’identifier des équivalents terminologiques. Des termes comme « langage », « terme », « terminologie » et « langue des signes » illustrent ces spécificités et permettent d’examiner un ensemble de problématiques découlant de ces différences. L’article conclut en soulignant l’importance d’une recherche comparative approfondie afin d’améliorer les équivalences terminologiques, de faciliter la traduction et de soutenir l’enseignement des langues de spécialité. Abstract This article addresses the issues related to establishing terminological equivalences between Russian and French in the field of linguistics. It highlights how terminological variations are amplified by divergences in the perception of concepts and the linguistic representation of language phenomena, which exhibit characteristics compared to the objects of study in other scientific disciplines. These conceptual and language discrepancies form the primary obstacle to translating scientific texts, especially when it comes to identifying terminological equivalents. Examples of terms such as « langage », « terme », « terminologie » and « langue des signes » illustrate these specificities and allow for an exploration of the issues arising from these differences. The article concludes by emphasizing the importance of in-depth comparative research to improve terminological equivalences, facilitate translation, and support the teaching of specialized languages.

Cette communication souhaiterait rendre hommage à l’épaisseur d’une existence très profondément marquée par la Terreur, à Natalie de Noailles, née Laborde (1774-1835), dont le destin offre d’importantes similitudes avec celui des « génies-sœurs » et « génies-amantes » condamnées à être oubliées de la postérité. Bien que Natalie fût « l’une des personnes les plus heureusement douées que la nature ait jamais formées », ce n’est qu’un chapitre, au mieux, qui lui est consacré dans les grandes biographies de Chateaubriand. Leur amour coïncide avec l’une des périodes les plus prolifiques de l’écrivain et elle reste, au moins dans l’histoire de la littérature, la plus grande passion de « l’Enchanteur » breton, inspiratrice de Velléda, de Cymodocée, surtout de Bianca des Aventures du dernier Abencérage. La deuxième partie de ce travail est consacrée à l’analyse de quelques extraits de la traduction de cette dernière œuvre, faite par le roi du Monténégro Nicolas le Premier. Abstract This communication would like to pay homage to the depth of an existence very deeply marked by the Terror, to Natalie de Noailles-Laborde (1774-1835), whose destiny offers important similarities with that of the “genius-sisters and genius lovers condemned to be forgotten by posterity. Although Natalie was “one of the most fortunately gifted people that nature has ever formed”, it is only a chapter, at best, devoted to her in the great biographies of Chateaubriand. Their love coincides with one of the writer’s most prolific periods and it remains, at least in the history of literature, the greatest passion of the Breton Enchanter, inspiration for Velléda, Cymodocée, especially by Bianca from The Adventures of the Last Abencerage. The second part of this work is devoted to the analysis of some extracts from the translation of this last work, made by the King of Montenegro Nicolas the First.

La politique linguistique de l’Inde, État plurilingue par excellence, se veut inclusive jusqu’aux langues les plus minoritaires avec une application multidirectionnelle de la traduction administrative protégée par la loi. En réalité cette politique est hiérarchisée. Elle met en avant l’hindi parmi les langues régionales et n’est pas appliquée pour de nombreuses minorités. Ceci transparaît dans les initiatives public/privé qui développent à grands pas depuis 2020 la localisation des technologies numériques pour les langues vernaculaires. La combinaison de traduction est le plus souvent de l’anglais vers les autres langues selon un ordre récurrent (hindi, puis les sept premières langues régionales, puis les autres langues répertoriées), indiquant la prééminence de l’anglais et la place symbolique des autres langues dans cette hiérarchie. Cette valorisation de la maîtrise des langues « du sommet » de la pyramide n’incite pas au développement de la traduction dans les langues minoritaires ou même entre « langues répertoriées » autres que l’hindi. De plus, la politique de traduction actuelle ne définit pas précisément les critères de sa mise en œuvre. Par ailleurs, depuis près de 10 ans, l’Inde a choisi de miser sur le développement de son économie par le numérique. Les internautes non anglophones constituent un marché gigantesque pour le secteur privé et un vivier de compétences pour peu qu’ils puissent accéder aux savoirs dispensés jusqu’ici en anglais. Ce développement vers les langues indiennes répond aussi à l’idéologie nationaliste prônée par le gouvernement en place. L’exemple de la diffusion de l’information lors de la pandémie du COVID-19 montre cependant que les langues des minorités les plus fragiles n’ont pas été prises en compte. Pourtant, les nouvelles technologies de l’information, en particulier l’IA, peuvent pourtant devenir des alliées dans la préservation et la traduction des langues minoritaires.

Une traduction éthique et décolonisée des littératures autochtones est sensible aux rapports de force entre Autochtones et Allochtones. Elle n’écarte ni les théoriciens de la littérature ni les outils de la traductologie euro-américains, mais s’intéresse surtout aux analyses des littératures autochtones issues des critiques et théoriciens autochtones, et fait particulièrement attention aux pièges de l’ethnocentrisme. Une telle traduction est aussi consciente que si la plupart des écrivains autochtones en Amérique du Nord parlent et écrivent en anglais, c’est entre autres à cause des nombreuses tentatives d’assimilation des États colonialistes. Néanmoins, un certain nombre de ces auteurs usent également, dans leurs œuvres, d’un Rez English. En effet, des membres des Premiers Peuples ont adapté l’anglais à leurs besoins et en sont venus à créer des dialectes nommés Rez Englishes. Pour illustrer la présence des Rez Englishes dans les littératures autochtones et pour montrer comment une traduction éthique et décolonisée peut les rendre, les traductions d’un extrait de House Made of Dawn, de l’écrivain N. Scott Momaday (Kiowa/Cherokee), seront analysées.

Le système de santé en Afrique connait des réalités difficilement supportables. A Kinshasa, les acteurs sociaux déforment, souvent, les fonctions réelles de structures hospitalières du fait qu'ils érigent des barrières pour les malades de se rendre aux consultations. Ceci est dû aux idées négatives reçues et partagées par la population de la République Démocratique du Congo. Dominicus Germanus de Silesia's 17th century translation of the Qur'an, Interpretatio Alcorani Literalis , offers a new approach to the long history of Latin translations of the Qur'an. In line with the early modern, humanistic, "philological" trend, he aims to explore the original sources of his object of study. However, he takes this concept further by considering as "source" not only the authentic Qur'anic text, but also the most authoritative Qur'anic commentators, whom he also translates into Latin and incorporates into the translation. This paper is a first attempt to analyze in detail Dominicus's modus operandi , his sources and how he relates them to the Qur'anic text, as well as the purpose of his work. Le traducteur de chansons, notamment pop et folk, se voit tiraillé entre souci de fidélité au texte source et nécessité d’adaptation à la langue cible. La frontière entre traduction et adaptation, au demeurant peu ténue, reste sujette à débat. La traduction de chansons représente d’autant plus un défi en chinois, langue monosyllabique où le traducteur se doit de respecter la versification et la fluidité chantable. He Cheng, traductrice de Mozart, l’Opéra rock, dont il sera question ici, privilégie ainsi une traduction fluide et cohérente. Dans cet article, nous examinerons la traduction de la chanson « Penser l’impossible » en nous intéressant particulièrement aux diverses stratégies mobilisées permettent d’atteindre une adéquation prosodique, poétique et sémantique avec le texte source.

L’écrivain martiniquais conçoit le plurilinguisme et la poétique des frontières à la lumière de la pensée de la Relation, discréditant tout monolinguisme et toutes sortes de standardisation culturelle, génératrice de réductionnisme et/ou d’exclusivisme, pour promouvoir une nouvelle approche traductologique, qui fonctionne à l’image de la dynamique de la créolisation et s’emploie ainsi à rendre compte des résultantes imprédictibles et immensurables des imaginaires esthétiques des diverses langues. C’est ainsi que la traduction arrive à avoir droit de cité et devient chez Glissant une poétique à part entière, dont la légitimation résulte notamment du fait qu’elle incarne une résistance artistique contre toute forme d’hégémonie politique ou de solstice géoculturel.

L’objectif de la présente étude est de détecter les traductions ratées dans le dictionnaire « Expressions idiomatiques arabes » de Moussaoui, d'en expliquer les raisons et de suggérer à la place des traductions françaises correctes. Nous avons suivi une approche analytique basée sur la théorie de Scopos. D’après notre analyse, il ressort que donner une traduction littérale de l’expression est une étape intermédiaire importante qui devrait précéder l’offre de l’équivalent définitif en français dans le dictionnaire. Elle devrait être adaptée au système linguistique de la langue cible. Elle donnerait au lecteur du dictionnaire des perceptions culturelles précises de la langue de départ. Toute traduction ratée à cet égard empêche le lecteur de saisir des aspects cognitifs importants liés à cette langue. Ces traductions littérales doivent être suivies des équivalents minutieusement choisis dans la langue cible. Le traducteur devrait être conscient de la portée exacte de l’utilisation des expressions originales. La traduction littérale et l’équivalent final formeraient ainsi des matières brutes grâce à lesquelles, le lecteur du dictionnaire sera capable, d’abord en arabe, de bien choisir l’expression idiomatique adaptée à la situation. Ensuite en français, il pourra adopter les équivalents proposés dans le dictionnaire, en trouver d’autre formes dans sa langue, ou bien en forger des formes toutes neuves. Par ailleurs, traduire les expressions idiomatiques obsolètes exige en particulier d’en authentifier la forme et le sens. Traduire ses expressions serait ainsi une façon de les faire revivre dans leur langue d’origine et de partager la sagesse qu’elles impliquent avec d’autres langues.الهدف من الدراسة الحالية هو الكشف عن الترجمات الخاطئة في معجم "التعبيرات الاصطلاحية العربية" لموسوي، وشرح أسبابها واقتراح ترجمات فرنسية صحيحة بدلا منها. وقد اتبعنا منهجا تحليليا يعتمد على نظرية الهدف. وقد تبين من خلال تحليلنا أن إعطاء ترجمة حرفية للتعبير هو مرحلة وسيطة مهمة يجب أن تسبق إعطاء المكافئ الفرنسي في صورته النهائية في المعجم. ويجب أن تتكيف هذه الترجمة الحرفية مع النظام اللغوي للّغة الهدف. حيث أن من شأنها أن تعطي قارئ القاموس تصورات ثقافية دقيقة للّغة المصدر. وأي ترجمة فاشلة في هذا الصدد ستحول دون استيعاب القارئ لجوانب معرفية مهمة متعلقة بتلك اللغة. وعقب هذه الترجمات الحرفية، يجب أن تأتي مكافئات من اللغة الهدف مختارة بعناية. وينبغي أن يكون المترجم على دراية دقيقة بنطاق استخدام التعبيرات الأصلية. ومن ثم فإن الترجمة الحرفية والمكافئ النهائي سيشكلان سويا موادا أولية سيتمكن بفضلها بداية قارئ القاموس، من اختيار التعبير الاصطلاحي الذي يتناسب مع الموقف في اللغة العربية. ثم سيكون قادرا في اللغة الفرنسية على قبول المكافئات التي يطرحها المعجم، أو إيجاد أشكال أخرى منها في لغته، أو صكّ أشكال جديدة تماما. علاوة على ذلك، فإن ترجمة التعبيرات الاصطلاحية القديمة تتطلب بشكل خاص التحقق من مبناها ومعناها. وبالتالي فإن ترجمتها ستكون وسيلة لإعادتها إلى الحياة في لغتها الأصلية ومشاركة الحكمة التي تنطوي عليها مع اللغات الأخرى.

La Short Dark Triad (SD3) est une échelle anglophone courte évaluant trois traits de personnalité de la Dark Triad (Triade Noire : Machiavélisme, Narcissime et Psychopathie). Elle a été créée, en 2013, par Delroy L. Paulhus et son équipe (University of British Columbia , Vancouver BC, Canada). Il n'en existait pas de version francophone au début de ce travail de validation. La SD3 fut donc traduite vers le français, puis rétro-traduite vers l'anglais pour la comparer à la version originale. La poursuite de la validation se fit via un questionnaire en ligne (LimeSurvey), permettant de comparer les résultats des trois sous-échelles avec les résultats aux trois échelles (validées en français) de référence (MACH-IV-fr, NPI-fr, LSRP-fr). Pour ce faire, 787 sujets ont répondu au questionnaire en ligne. Les analyses statistiques montrent une bonne cohérence interne (n = 580 et coefficient alpha de cronbach : 0,85 sur l'échelle totale, 0,78, 0,70 et 0,69 sur les sous-échelles de Machiavélisme, de Narcissisme et de Psychopathie) et une bonne validité externe de la SD3-fr ici traduite (n = 500 et Corrélation SD3 Machia avec MACHIV-fr : 0,70 ; Corrélation SD3 Narcis avec NPI-fr : 0,74 ; Corrélation SD3 Psychopathie avec LSRP-fr : 0,67). L'analyse factorielle confirmatoire est en faveur d'un modèle à trois facteurs corrélés. La SD3-fr peut être utilisée en populations francophones. The Short Dark Triad (SD3) scale has been created by Delroy L. Paulhus and his team in 2013 (University of British Columbia, Vancouver BC, Canada). Its purpose is to provide a brief measure of three socially aversive traits known as the Dark Triad (Machiavellianism, Narcissism and Psychopathy). This study aims to explore the psychometric properties of this French version of the scale and to validate this translation. The SD3 scale has been translated from English to French, then retro-translated to English again to compare it to the original version. The validation continued with an online survey (LimeSurvey) allowing to compare the results of the three sub-scales with the results of the three existing scales previously validated in French (MACH-IV-fr, NPI-fr, LSRP-fr). A total of 787 participants answered the online survey. Statistical analyzes suggest a good internal consistency (n = 580 and Cronbach's alpha coefficients: 0.85 on the full scale, 0.78, 0.70, 0.69 on the sub-scales of Machiavellianism, Narcissism and Psychopathy) and a good external validity of the SD3-fr translated in the present work (n = 500 and SD3 Machia–MACHIV-fr correlation: 0.70; SD3 Narcis – NPI-fr: 0.74; SD3 Psychopathy – LSRP-fr: 0.67). Dany Laferrière has demonstrated a continuous engagement with Japan, beginning with the novel Éroshima in 1987 and continuing to his most recent publication in 2021, Sur la route avec Bashō. The aim of this article is to understand what role Japan plays within Laferrière's writing and how it helps us understand the complex network of sex, power, and race in his work. Between the cosmopolitanism of the network of nation-states and the despair of identity politics, I situate Laferrière's use of Japan as a fantasy that empowers the writer beyond the impasse of a white-black racial imaginary. Reading Laferrière this way allows us to understand how his writing uses the fantasy of the Orient, often to the detriment of Asian women. As such it contributes to comparative work between Asian and French literatures, debates in Francophonie, and critical understandings of race in the Francophone sphere of the Americas. Drawing on Derrida's and Ricoeur's theories of language and hospitality, the author takes up the problem of the hostility embedded in the discourses of welcome when it comes to migrants' experiences of border regimes and border practices. "Broken English," in this context, represents a site of conflict: a vehicular language to be avoided or overcome, a "language of refuge," even a means of forming a community. To explore language as alternative terrain to be policed or an opening to be exploited, the author considers how civil-society art projects involving immigrants and refugees might enable new civic relationships. Focusing on the Shoe Project, a storytelling and performance workshop for immigrant and refugee women, the author asks to what extent the project is about helping the stranger speak like "us" and to what extent it can open space for a different kind of immigration story from those imposed by the legal languages of immigration.
