Increase in the number of two-wheeled motor vehicles (motorcycles, vehicles of category L3) is observed in the traffic of almost all countries in the world. That is why the number of victims and people seriously injured in the road traffic accidents (RTA) has considerably increased. The majority of RTA is the result of many factors which form together sets of different causes and effects. Identification of actual reasons having led to a traffic accident, as well as their attendant circumstances, is one of the most important tasks in ensuring traffic safety. On the one hand, configurations of two-wheeled motor vehicles have been significantly improved over the last decades, so it is necessary to align the analytical apparatus of estimating parameters of the braking process with these configurations. On the other hand, the current practice of expert analysis and settlement of accidents still involves estimation of increase in braking time and steady deceleration of motorcycles manufactured domestically during the past years, which hardly participate in the modern traffic due to their age. Both of these circumstances require review and adjustment, as well as formation of an updated basis of estimate for assessment of braking processes of two-wheeled motor vehicles in order to increase the reliability of RTA examination and determine compliance or non-compliance of driver’s actions with the requirements of traffic rules, establish the causes of accidents, evaluate a technical capability of a driver of the two-wheeled motor vehicle to prevent the accident. Settlement of all these issues can be provided by effective methods of calculation (quantitative) assessment, which are not available at the present moment.

Diplomsko delo predstavlja statistično analizo vpliva alkohola na varnost v cestnem prometu pri enoslednih motornih vozilih v Sloveniji v obdobju 2008-2012. Na podlagi statističnih podatkov smo analizirali število prometnih nesreč enoslednih motornih vozil glede na različne dejavnike ter predlagali ukrepe za boljšo prometno varnost teh. Število enoslednih motornih vozil v Sloveniji narašča, statistična primerjava glede na različne dejavnike od leta 2008-2012 je pokazala, da se je število prometnih nesreč, umrlih in hudo ter lažje telesno poškodovanih alkoholiziranih voznikov enoslednih motornih vozil zmanjšalo. K temu so prispevali strožji zakonski ukrepi in ukrepi drugih vladnih in nevladnih organizacij. Glede na statistične podatke je bilo ugotovljeno, da je prometna varnost motoristov v Sloveniji še vedno problematična in je potrebna še večje pozornosti. The thesis presents a statistical analysis of the impact of alcohol on road safety in two-wheeled motor vehicles in Slovenia in the period 2008-2012. Based on the statistics, we analyzed the number of crashes of two-wheeled motor vehicles with regard to the various factors and suggested measures to improve transport safety of these. Number of two-wheeled motor vehicles is increasing in Slovenia, statistical comparison of factors from 2008-2012 showed that the number of traffic accidents, deaths and serious and minor injuries drunk drivers of two-wheeled motor vehicles decreased. Contributed to this stringent legal measures and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. According to statistics, it was found that the traffic safety of motorists in Slovenia is still problematic and requires even more attention.

Vozniki enoslednih motornih vozil so v prometu ena izmed bolj izpostavljenih skupin udeležencev v cestnem prometu. Predvsem je zaskrbljujoča visoka stopnja poškodb v prometnih nesrečah, v katerih so udeleženi motoristi. Magistrsko delo je nastalo na podlagi konkretne raziskave, katere namen je bil ugotoviti lokacije mest zgostitev prometnih nesreč z udeleženimi motoristi na državnem cestnem omrežju in vzroke za nastanek prometnih nesreč. Oceniti sem želel učinek izvedenih infrastrukturnih ukrepov za izboljšanje ravni prometne varnosti enoslednih motorni vozil. S statističnimi metodami sem analiziral nevarne odseke in prometne nesreče motoristov pred uvedbo ukrepov in po njej. Ugotovil sem, da se je raven prometne varnosti motoristov po uvedbi ukrepov znatno izboljšala, kar pomeni, da so izbrani ukrepi, izvedeni na državnih cestah, upravičeni in učinkoviti. Drivers of two-wheeled motor vehicles in traffic is one of the most vulnerable groups of road users. There is a particularly alarming high rate of injuries in traffic accidents involving motorcyclists. This master's thesis has been based on actual research, the purpose was to determine the location of places with congestion of traffic accidents involving motorcyclists in the state road network and causes of traffic accidents. I am assessing the impact of infrastructure measures taken to improve traffic safety for two-wheeled motor vehicles. The statistical methods were used to analyze dangerous sections of road accidents of motorcyclists before and after the introduction of measures. I have found that the level of road safety for motorcycle riders did significantly improve on state roads after the introduction of such measures, which means that they were both efficient and beneficial.
