The aim of this study was to enhance the capacity of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services in Manggarai Regency through the Problem Solving Learning Model, targeting BK teachers in vocational education units. The primary goal was to improve the quality of guidance and counseling services provided in these educational institutions. To achieve this, BK teachers underwent training focused on various skills including problem identification, problem analysis, solution development, and continuous monitoring. The training also emphasized the creation of effective solution implementation work plans. The objective was to equip BK teachers with the necessary tools and techniques to address challenges and provide meaningful guidance to students. The results of the training indicated a high level of enthusiasm among BK teachers in Manggarai Regency. Feedback assessments showed positive ratings, particularly in the areas of problem identification, problem analysis, solution development, and continuous monitoring plans, all of which received an average rating of 3.66, categorizing them as "good." However, the aspect of solution implementation work plans received a slightly lower rating of 3.1, indicating room for improvement. This finding highlights the need for continued attention and support from BK teachers, facilitators, school supervisors, officials, and the community to enhance the quality of guidance and counseling services further. Improving the solution implementation work plans can lead to more effective problem-solving strategies and contribute to overall improvements in learning and education quality throughout Manggarai Regency. In conclusion, while the training showed positive outcomes and high enthusiasm among participants, ongoing efforts and collaboration are necessary to sustain and build upon these improvements in guidance and counseling services for the benefit of students and educational institutions in the region. The era of Society 5.0 demands that human resources possess critical thinking skills in response to rapid changes in the field of education, with Vocational High Schools (VHS) playing a central role in shaping students to be critical and creative. To achieve optimal results, further breakthroughs in the use of educational technology are needed, such as the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR)-based flipbooks in the vocational school environment. This study aims to evaluate the level of critical thinking skills among vocational school students. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with descriptive quantitative data analysis. This research was conducted with 64 tenth-grade students at a vocational school in Bandung. The instruments used to obtain data included critical thinking skills tests. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative analysis to evaluate the improvement of students' understanding and critical thinking skills. The research data was tested using normality test, homogeneity test, independent test, and N-Gain. Research data indicates that the use of AR-based flipbooks significantly enhances student comprehension, with an N-gain value of 0.6 observed in the experimental class. Consequently, it can be concluded that the implementation of AR-based flipbooks effectively improves students' critical thinking abilities in VHS, offering substantial promise for developing more interactive and efficient learning technologies for future education.

This community service aims to improve the social competence of school principals through transformational leadership training to encourage professional learning communities in the Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity era. The method used in this community service used an IGROW- based coaching approach. The target participants of the training consisted of principals and vice principals of vocational schools in Ponorogo District who were accompanied by coaches from the field of education management with expertise in transformational leadership and educational organizations. The evaluation of this training was conducted using questionnaires. The data collected from these instruments were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of this activity showed that this transformational leadership model training was carried out well and smoothly so that the targets and outcomes of this community service activity could be achieved. Participants were active in conveying and elaborating on the leadership problems faced in their schools. The analysis of the training implementation evaluation data showed that principals were highest in applying the inspirational motivation aspect of transformational leadership. This aspect of inspirational motivation could include the principal's ability to inspire and motivate staff and teachers to achieve the school's vision and goals. This indicates the importance of the principal's role in fostering a positive work environment and motivating their team to achieve better.

Background. Interpersonal communication skills have a significant influence that must be emphasized on the implementation of learning at school. Consequently, ongoing evaluation of students is essential to achieve optimal interpersonal communication skills. Objectives. This study aimed to examine the impact of implementing physical education on interpersonal communication skills in Senior High School (SMA) and Vocational School (SMK) students. Both types of schools have distinctive characteristics. Senior High School focuses more on continuing education, while Vocational School places greater emphasis on education that prioritizes the readiness of its graduates to work. Materials and methods. Quantitative descriptive approach is employed in this study, with high school and vocational school students as the research sample. The Interpersonal Communication Competence Scale (ICCS) is the research tool used in this study. Results. Based on the research findings, it is clear that there are differences in the results of interpersonal communication skills between high school and vocational school students compared to the outcomes of implementing physical education at school. In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, leveraging technology in education is crucial. Self-Regulated Learning (SRL), which entails individuals' ability to understand and control their learning environment, fostering independence and responsibility, can be influenced by the blended learning model. This study, employing a mixed-methods design and a pre-experimental design for the quantitative phase, aimed to examine the impact of blended learning on SRL. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed with paired sample t-tests. The results showed that (1) the descriptive analysis of the SRL pre-test of students indicates that the highest percentage was in the medium category with 85% students; (2) the results of the SRL post-test proved that the highest percentage is in the low category with 63% students; and (3) the results of the paired sample t-test showed the value of sig. (2-trailed) < alpha (0.007 < 0.05). The statistical analysis confirmed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores, suggesting that the blended learning model was not effective in enhancing SRL among students in Islamic Education at SMKN 7 Majene. Observations and interviews revealed that students' lack of self-regulated learning was due to inadequate technological resources and challenges in using Google Classroom, which was a novel experience for students and hindered their ability to access materials and submit assignments. Penelitian ini, yang menggunakan desain metode campuran dan desain pra-eksperimental untuk fase kuantitatif, bertujuan untuk menguji dampak pembelajaran campuran pada SRL. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji-t sampel berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) analisis deskriptif pre-test SRL mahasiswa menunjukkan bahwa persentase tertinggi berada pada kategori sedang dengan jumlah 85% mahasiswa; (2) hasil post-test SRL membuktikan bahwa persentase tertinggi berada pada kategori rendah dengan jumlah 63% mahasiswa; (3) hasil uji-t sampel berpasangan menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) < alpha (0,007 < 0,05). Analisis statistik mengkonfirmasi perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pre-test dan post-test, menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran blended learning tidak efektif dalam meningkatkan SRL di kalangan siswa pada pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam di SMKN 7 Majene. Pengamatan dan wawancara mengungkapkan bahwa kurangnya pembelajaran secara mandiri disebabkan oleh sumber daya teknologi yang tidak memadai dan tantangan dalam menggunakan Google Classroom, yang merupakan pengalaman baru bagi siswa dan menghambat kemampuan mereka untuk mengakses materi dan mengumpulkan tugas.

Canva for education is a version of Canva designed specifically for education. The results of the literature review show that the learning effectiveness of SMK students is not optimal. This is because teachers only use passive and non-interactive learning media, such as showing pictures or videos without providing opportunities for students to actively participate in learning. This study aims to determine the use of canva for education to improve the learning effectiveness of vocational students. The method used in this study is SLR (Systematic Literature Review) which consists of 15 published journal samples. Data collection techniques are carried out by collecting some relevant previous research, then compiled, analyzed, and concluded. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, canva for education can increase the learning effectiveness of vocational students The use of canva for education can increase the learning effectiveness of vocational students because it attracts students' interest, makes learning materials easier to understand, develops graphic design skills and strengthens collaboration, thereby increasing student motivation and learning outcomes. The use of Canva for education should be balanced with effective learning strategies.

This study aims to analyze the synergy between fieldwork practices and self-efficacy in improving the work readiness of vocational school students. This research used a survey method with a quantitative approach. This study involved 1289 populations and 306 samples from three state vocational schools in Surakarta, selected using a proportionate random sampling method. The instruments used in this study consisted of Fieldwork Practice (FWP), Self-efficacy (SE), and Work Readiness (WR) questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed by statistical testing of descriptive analysis, correlation, and mediation using path analysis. The results of this study revealed that fieldwork practices and self-efficacy contribute significantly to students’ work readiness. The analysis shows that self-efficacy serves as an important mediator in the relationship between fieldwork practices and work readiness, reinforcing the role of practice-based education in preparing students for the world of work. In this study, it was found that the development of education and training programs that focus on improving students’ self-efficacy through fieldwork practices can be a major key in the school-to-work transition.

This study examines the effectiveness of Web Blog (WB) practices in enhancing the foreign language (FL) writing skills of vocational high school students in Indonesia. Digital learning, especially web-learning based blog (WB) has been proven advantageous to enhance the second and foreign language skills of Senior High school and university students in Indonesia. However, little research to date has explored whether Web Blog practices are fruitful for vocational high school learners in foreign language (FL) contexts, a population characterized by low competence levels, naughty adolescents, and few opportunities to engage with the FL. This study involved a tenth-grade class (N=18) who participated in a pre-test, received WB-based instruction, and then completed a post-test. The findings revealed significant improvements in students’ writing, as evidenced by higher post-test scores in unity, completeness, coherence, and spatial order. The implications of these results suggest that incorporating WB into FL instruction can effectively enhance the writing skills of vocational high school students, providing them with greater opportunity for peer collaboration and teacher-led conferences.

Critical and logical thinkers are in high demand in the workforce. Vocational students need to possess this knowledge if they plan to work after graduation. Nevertheless, there aren't many Math Logic modules designed for students in vocational schools that have this ability. The goal of this research is to provide module that facilitating students at vocational schools to improve their critical thinking abilities. Utilizing 4-D Thiagarajan steps, this study using R&D method. Critical thinking ability tests, teacher and student answer questionnaires, and expert validation sheets are the instruments employed. Both quantitative and qualitative analysis was done on the data collected from the instruments. The data processing results demonstrate: 1) valid modules, as determined by validity test results from media, practitioners, and subject matter experts; 2) high-quality modules, as determined by student and teacher response results; and 3) useful modules, as determined by effectiveness test results in the classroom. Abstract This study seeks to investigate the association between distinct tracks of secondary education—namely, vocational school (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, SMK) and general school (Sekolah Menengah Atas, SMA)—and two key labor market outcomes: the duration required for graduates to attain their initial employment and their resilience in the face of pandemic, as measured by changes in average monthly income. While the former sheds light on the outcome under typical circumstances, the latter offers valuable insights into the outcome during periods of crisis. Focused on Indonesia, this research employs Heckman two-step model alongside ordinary least square (OLS) for the first outcome and ordered probit regression for the second. The research draws upon data extracted from the 2021 National Labor Force Survey (Survey Angkatan Kerja Nasional, SAKERNAS). Our results suggest that SMK provides an advantage in securing initial employment compared to SMA, with SMK graduates entering the workforce earlier than their counterparts. Moreover, in terms of resilience during the pandemic, as evidenced by changes in income, SMK graduates exhibit greater resilience, with a higher likelihood of maintaining or even increasing their income compared to SMA graduates. These findings offer valuable implications for both theoretical understanding and practical considerations.

AbstractThis research focuses on Indonesia’s newly introduced Merdeka (Independent) curriculum for vocational schools (VSs), emphasizing the crucial involvement of the industry in aligning, executing and evaluating the curriculum. The study utilizes a combination of qualitative analysis through a multicase design and quantitative insights using descriptive methodologies. The empirical findings highlight a complex connection between VS and the industry, clarifying the diverse contributions of industrial players. The importance of the industry is initially demonstrated through curriculum synchronization, which includes the submission of competence designs, the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and the precise alignment of competencies with industry requirements. Afterward, the industry promotes curriculum adoption by cultivating a 5S work culture through seminars, workplace assistance, and reinforcement of essential work character traits. Moreover, the industry’s assessment of the Merdeka curriculum implementation is considered vital, covering areas such as collaboration, education and the quality of work produced. This study enhances curriculum management research by revealing the dynamic connection between vocational education and industry stakeholders. It offers insights into the collaborative and transformational processes that influence vocational education.

The contribution gives insights into a comparative linguistic textbook analysis of two Austrian Catholic Religious Education (RE) textbooks for colleges for higher vocational schools (‘BHS’) and vocational schools for apprentices (‘VocEd’). Gender constructions are still a desideratum in RE textbook research in Austria. Previous gender-oriented analyses mostly used qualitative content analysis or mainly questionnaires. This paper followed the approach of linguistic textbook analysis addressing gender constructions on a linguistic level by comparing both textbooks, asking which and how two selected chapters of Austrian RE textbooks in use construct gender on a linguistic level. A discussion of the main results, considering previous gender sensitive RE research, aimed to develop criteria for prospects of action with teaching materials in the current context of plurality of genders and sexualities in a democratic society. This research delves into the factors influencing digital entrepreneurial intention using the Smart PLS algorithm for data analysis. The analysis results strongly support the proposed hypotheses, with indicator values above 0.6 indicating the reliability of variables in the context of digital entrepreneurial intention. The main findings affirm that innovation plays a key mediating role in connecting attitude, subjective norm, and self-efficacy to digital entrepreneurial intention. It is also found that excessive digital entrepreneurial self-efficacy can hinder innovation, and a positive industry perception does not always correlate with high levels of innovation. Creativity proves to be a key element, positively impacting digital entrepreneurial intention and innovation. Other factors, such as planned behavior theory and digital literacy, also contribute positively to digital entrepreneurial intention and innovation. This research provides in-depth insights into the complex interaction of key factors in shaping attitudes and digital entrepreneurial intention. Policy implementation of Islamic State Vocational School under the management of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia is expected to contribute to preparing high-quality, competent, and religiously charactered graduates. However, several challenges are faced, including resource limitations and curriculum inadequacies that do not align with the needs of the business and industrial sectors. The research aims to analyze the implementation of Islamic State Vocational School policy implementation and the obstacles encountered, with the subsequent design of an Islamic State Vocational School implementation model. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data research was collected through interviews, observations, and document studies. The purposive sampling technique is employed; the selected informants are individuals who are directly or indirectly involved in the implementation of policies for Islamic State Vocational Schools. They possess the necessary competence, knowledge, insight, authority, or related expertise to manage these schools. The study includes eight informants categorized into three roles: policy makers, policy implementers, and policy recipients. Data analysis techniques use descriptive techniques such as data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate: 1) The implementation of Islamic State Vocational School policy is not yet optimal from a resource perspective, encompassing deficiencies in budgetary, human resources, and infrastructure aspects; 2) Obstacles in the implementation of Islamic State Vocational School policy are identified in relation to the lack of government involvement in collaborating with other parties to create an ecosystem of relationships between vocational education institutions and the business and industrial sector; budgetary resource constraints leading to a shortage of certified professional human resources and infrastructure; poorly structured vocational education systems resulting in curriculum programs that are not in line with the needs of the business and industrial sector. Higher order thinking skills (HOTS) are an important element in facing the challenges of the 21 st-century. Difficulty in solving problems systematically, facing challenges in an organized manner, and being unable to design original solutions are due to the low HOTS that students have. HOTS ability can improve students who low-level thinking skills in several ways, for example, through learning integrated with media, practice, and assessment or HOTS-based cognitive assessment. The purpose of this study was to develop and implement a HOTS-based cognitive assessment to assess students' HOTS abilities. The device development model used is an adaptation of the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) model. The research sample consisted of 30 students in class 11 of the Governance and Office Automation Competency Program of Vocational High School 1 Kudus. The result is that 11 students have the HOTS ability with very good criteria, 17 well criteria, and 2 enough criteria. This study suggests that a test instrument for further research is to measure students' HOTS ability. The Experts conclude that HOTS-based cognitive assessment can be used as an approach to improve students' HOTS to actively think selectively and supported by logical argumentation. This study aims to reveal the youth leadership characteristics of students enrolled in associate degree programs at higher education institutions. The population of the study consists of associate degree students at Adıyaman University, specifically those attending Sani Konukoğlu Vocational School of Social Sciences and Besni Ali Erdemoğlu Vocational School. Employing the explanatory research technique, this study utilizes quantitative research methods. The research involves a survey with two sections. The first section includes 8 questions designed to elucidate participants' demographic characteristics. The second section employs the "Youth Leadership Characteristics Scale: Reliability and Validity Study," developed by Cansoy and Turan (2016), to determine participants' youth leadership qualities. SPSS 27.00 software is used for the analysis of the obtained data. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) is applied to determine the validity of the data. Additionally, reliability testing, normality analysis, frequency analysis, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and independent samples t-test are conducted. Upon examining the results of the study, it is observed that, in terms of demographic variables, the sub-dimensions of the scale did not create a significant difference in participants' youth leadership characteristics. The notion of educational development has merit in defining the nature of Tibetan school education in China, which operates under the Chinese centralized educational model. However, it would be simplistic to see all types of schools in Tibetan regions operating in a single dependency relationship regarding the educational content, teaching mode, and school management. Consequently, the author proposes considering the more complex situation of a syncretism of Tibetan and Chinese education systems. His proposition derives from his long-time participation, observation, and extensive interviews with school teachers, students, and administrators in a Tibetan private vocational high school in Amdo (Qinghai). This school has pioneered experimentation with a syncretic education model to resolve the tension and seek a balance between cultural continuity and social change by capitalizing on its interdependency situation. His research shows that promoting this syncretic education model in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural country like China is worthwhile. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: In Denmark, more students smoke in vocational schools than in upper secondary schools. Smoking-prevention initiatives may reduce the prevalence of smoking but may also introduce unforeseen challenges. This study examined the significance of smoking and dilemmas related to smokefree school hours (SFSH) among established smokers in Danish vocational schools. Design: Qualitative research design. Setting: Data collection took place in a vocational education and training (VET) school in Denmark. The subject area was care, health and pedagogy (CHP). Method: Participant observation and focus groups were conducted with students and teachers. Two classes were observed for 2 weeks in total. The data analysed consisted of participant observation field notes (n = 10 school days), transcripts from student focus groups (n = 6; aged 18–56) and transcripts from teacher focus groups (n = 11). Results: Two dilemmas were described as faced by established smokers in relation to the implementation of smokefree school hours: (1) The school is entitled to make rules versus the right to decide for oneself; and (2) life and schoolwork are challenging and demanding versus school work is more important than smoking. Conclusion: The findings illustrate how smoking, as an ingrained everyday practice for established smokers, represents a means of coping with difficult school demands and everyday challenges, particularly for vulnerable students, and how regulations such as SFSH create dilemmas for those students. These dilemmas are important to consider when designing and implementing smoking-prevention initiatives to prevent potential negative side effects and an unintended increase in social inequality in smoking. Internship (INTERNSHIP) is an important part of the vocational education curriculum in vocational high schools, including SMK Negeri 1 Gesi. However, its implementation often faces various obstacles, such as inefficient communication, delayed reporting, and difficulties in monitoring student progress. To address these issues, an Internship monitoring system has been developed with the aim of optimizing the learning process. Therefore, this research aims to develop a internship monitoring system that is suitable for use by vocational high school students to support their activities. The research method applied in this study is research and development adopting the Alessi & Trollip model. The research subjects include software/media experts, content experts, and teachers. Data collection is carried out using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data obtained from the research is then analyzed qualitatively descriptively and quantitatively in terms of percentage. The research results show that in the alpha testing phase, the internship monitoring system product received a High Validity qualification from experts. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the internship monitoring system product deserves the category of high feasibility to use as an application or system to support a series of internship activities, both for teachers and students.

The lack of discipline of post-PKL students at vocational schools requires genuine efforts to maintain academic achievement and preparation for the world of work. This research aims to determine efforts to improve the discipline of vocational school students after the PKL program at SMK MUH 1 Sukoharjo—descriptive qualitative research using the Miles & Huberman method. Data was obtained through non-participant interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies of students, teachers, and SMK MUH 1 Sukoharjo staff. Data analysis includes data reduction, presentation, and conclusion to understand efforts to improve student discipline after PKL. The research found that the PKL program at SMK MUH 1 Sukoharjo was a strategic step in improving student discipline. This can be seen from an increased understanding of discipline application of disciplinary values, to positive changes in students' attitudes and behavior. This positive impact is not only felt in daily life at school but also leads to a significant increase in academic achievement. The PKL program at SMK MUH 1 Sukoharjo has succeeded in creating a learning environment that supports the holistic formation of student character and discipline. In conclusion, the PKL program at SMK MUH 1 Sukoharjo has succeeded in proving its effectiveness in improving student discipline, as seen by increasing understanding of the concept of discipline, application of values, to positive changes in student attitudes and behavior, as well as positive changes in student attitudes and behavior—significant increase in academic achievement.

Recognizing the imperative of enhancing students' comprehension in reading, especially within the context of vocational schools, the need for innovative learning approaches becomes crucial. This research aimed to assess the effectiveness of employing folktales to enhance the reading abilities of eleventh-grade students at SMK Tiwikrama Mamuju. Conducted through a pre-experimental design, the study incorporated both pretest and posttest assessments with an intervention in between. The research was conducted during the academic year 2022/2023, involving three classes comprising a total of 105 students. Utilizing purposive sampling, a sample size of 23 students was selected for the study, with the reading test serving as the primary research instrument. The data analysis unveiled a noteworthy improvement in students' mean scores, escalating from a pre-test score of 48 (categorized as very poor) to a post-test score of 75 (categorized as good). The calculated t-test value of 21.09 exceeded the critical t-table value of 2.074 at a significance level of α=0.05. This higher t-test value led to the rejection of the null hypothesis and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. Consequently, the utilization of folktales demonstrated a significant enhancement in the reading abilities of eleventh-grade students at SMK Tiwikrama Mamuju.

The background of the study was to determine the effect of Project Based Learning model on learning interest of vocational students in Surakarta. The purpose of this study is to increase the learning interest of vocational students by applying the Project Based Learning model. This research uses qualitative methods with methods for gathering data through surveys and observations. The research subjects were vocational students and teachers of public vocational schools in Surakarta. Which consisted of 36 students and 1 subject teacher. The results showed that 75% of students liked the learning process with the Project Based Learning model, while 25% liked other learning models. From these results it can be seen that the majority of students like the Project Based Learning model. So, it can be said that Surakarta's vocational students' interest in learning can be piqued by the Project Based Learning approach.

This research aimed to test the effect of emotional intelligence on accounting understanding. This research was conducted at a vocational high school that the Indonesian Government owns. The population of this research consists of 144 students, while the research sample consists of 106 students selected by simple random sampling. This research used the ex-post-facto (causalcomparative) method. This research data was collected using a questionnaire and a test. The research data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA. The research results show that the higher the student’s emotional intelligence, the higher their accounting understanding. Therefore, teachers must provide emotional intelligence training for students while studying in vocational school to adapt to the work environment and become challenging human resources when they become alumni and work in companies.

The study analyzed the relationship of leadership to knowledge management, leadership to innovation capability, psychological security climate to knowledge management, psychological security climate to innovation capability, self-efficacy to knowledge management, self-efficacy to innovation capability, knowledge management to innovation capability. The unit of analysis was vocational teachers and principals of vocational schools. The number of teachers from the respondents education unit is 3,056 teachers. By using the Slovin formula, the minimum number of sample sizes is 354 people and the sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The data analysis technique in this study uses partial least square (PLS). The results of data processing show that leadership has a significant effect on knowledge management, leadership has a significant effect on innovation capability, psychological security climate has a significant effect on knowledge management, psychological security climate has a significant effect on innovation capability, self-efficacy has a significant effect on knowledge management, self-efficacy has a significant effect on innovation capability, knowledge management has a significant effect on innovation capability. Vocational school students are not only required to master competency skills but also cognitive skills. Engineering mechanics learning is a basic calculation lesson that students should master. This research aimed to develop and identify the effectiveness of Android-based virtual laboratory (V-lab) media to improve students’ cognitive skills in learning engineering mechanics at vocational school in Surakarta. The subjects comprised 70 students of first grade vocational school majoring in civil engineering in Surakarta. This research was a research and development (R&D) study to develop an Android-based virtual laboratory media. Testing the N-Gain analysis in the experimental and control classes was to determine the effectiveness of virtual laboratory media in improving students’ cognitive thinking skills. Data were obtained from questionnaires and pretest and post-test test sheets. The developed virtual laboratory media was considered ‘very appropriate’ by media, material, and practitioner experts. The average value of N-Gain for the experimental class was 78.19% which was included in the effective category. Meanwhile, in the control class, the average N-Gain value reached 54.07%, which was included in the less effective category. This indicates that the use of Android-based virtual laboratory media for learning is more effective than conventional learning media. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: The current study examined the reliability and validity of the Mindful Student Questionnaire (MSQ) among a sample of Chinese vocational school students. Method: Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) models were fitted using MSQ and Student Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire (SSWQ) data collected from 2910 adolescent students. Factor structure analysis, reliability, convergent validity, and predictive validity were examined to investigate the psychometric properties of MSQ. Results: The EFA indicated that a 3-factor solution (i.e., mindful attention, mindful acceptance, and approach and persistence) was most suitable for the MSQ in the study sample. This 3-factor CFA model indicated that inter-factor correlations were different from those originally reported by the scale developer in a US adolescent student sample. The reliability coefficients (Cronbach's alpha and composite reliability) were acceptable. Discriminative, convergent, and predictive validity were demonstrated through the MSQ's relation with the SSWQ. Conclusions: The 15-item, 3-factor MSQ demonstrates strong reliability and validity, offering a new multidimensional model of MSQ to assess mindfulness among Chinese adolescents in a school setting. IntroductionAdolescents are experiencing an unprecedented cyber-saturated environment where the disclosure of private information should be approached with caution. This study aims to investigate the effects of school environment, including student support, teacher support, and opportunities for autonomy, on students’ disclosure of private information and their experiences with cyberbullying.MethodsIn September 2022, a total of 1,716 students (mean age = 14.60, SD = 1.35) from three regular and vocational schools in China participated in the survey.ResultsThe results showed that 35.6% of the participants had experienced victimization by cyberbullying, and 12.6% had perpetrated cyberbullying. Vocational school students reported significantly higher rates of cyberbullying and lower levels of perceived school climate than students from regular school. Student support in the school environment was found to negatively affect both cyberbullying perpetration and victimization, with this impact appearing to be stronger in regular schools as compared to vocational schools. Opportunities for autonomy and the disclosure of private information were positively correlated with experiences of cyberbullying.DiscussionThis study introduces a novel perspective that perceived school climate influences adolescents’ disclosure of private information and their involvement in cyberbullying. The findings could provide implications for future research and practices aimed at child protection in cyberspace.

School Management is an activity carried out effectively and efficiently to improve school performance in achieving educational goals, both national goals and institutional goals, the results of which can be seen from several factors as indicators of the performance achieved by the school. School management is tasked with creating a learning schedule that will be implemented at school. Lesson schedules cannot be created haphazardly. A lesson schedule is required in every school. This type of research is quantitative research. The method used is descriptive analytical correlation aimed at finding whether there is an influence and if there is an influence, how much influence the school management has on the performance of teachers at Bina Pangudi Luhur Vocational School. In this study, the population was all 33 teachers at Bina Pangudi Luhur Vocational School, Jakarta. From the results of observations in the field, it is known that school management carried out by Bina Pangudi Luhur Vocational School teachers has an impact on teacher performance and determines the quality of teacher performance. Thus, this condition shows that school management has no significant effect on teacher performance variables. the same as the law of cause and effect, the better the learning management carried out by the principal and teachers of Bina Pangudi Luhur Vocational School, the better the teacher's performance in the learning process and the work results that can be achieved by a teacher in an educational institution in accordance with their duties and responsibilities.

Revolutions and technological developments have had a tremendous impact on their application in the education. One of the highlights in the use of technology is the use of website-based learning media. For this reason, this study aims to establish a website as an alternative media to improve the quality of English vocabulary for marketing students at vocational schools. The researchers applied research and development by adopting the Sugiyono’s development model. The stages adapted are: (1) Finding Potential and problem solution, (2) Product design, (3) Design validation, (4) Product Testing, (5) Product Revision, and (6) Product publication. The researchers apply Research and Development to the 20 students in each school and 3 teachers as research participants randomly from SMK Pemuda 1 Kesamben, SMK PGRI 2 Sutojayan, and SMKN 1 Kademangan. The problem-solving abilities are obtained by analyzing research policy, observing, questioning/answering, and giving questionnaires. The result of the design development validation shows that the “busworld” website is very valid and can be used as a learning media. There were three media validators accept the media with few revisions and it is approved 97% is very valid. Furthermore, the result of the material validator reached 99% valid. This shows that the “busworld” website is very useful for learning vocabulary for vocational students and is valid for use in learning. Future researchers may concern on the effectiveness of website for vocational students

The pandemic period led to changes in learning methods. One of the learning methods that are effective now is the direct learning method (Synchronous Learning) and the indirect method (Unsynchronous Learning). Perambanan Social Vocational High School 1 has developed the learning system but has yet to maximize learning media development. Therefore, there is a need for training and workshops to increase teachers' knowledge to solve the problems encountered related to making learning media. The service is carried out through several stages: identifying activities, planning and implementing activities, follow-up and evaluation, and preparing reports. The results of the service show that participants not only have the ability to develop learning media but also have a deeper understanding of the benefits of technology in learning. The teachers involved are expected to strengthen their abilities in developing creative and relevant learning content according to the needs of students. This effort can potentially improve the quality of learning, expand accessibility for students to learn flexibly, and present a more interactive and exciting learning experience.

Although many studies have explored teacher questioning strategies (TQS) in EFL classrooms, only some studies have been conducted in EFL online classes in a vocational high school context. This study aims to shed the EFL online classroom practices regarding using first language and teacher's questioning strategy. To this end, a qualitative case study was conducted at one public vocational school in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through Zoom recordings for four sessions and classroom observation. Additionally, follow-up interviews were conducted after the classes. The data were analysed with thematic analysis. The findings revealed bilingual classrooms with teachers adopting the first language to build rapport, ice-breaking, and grammar explanation. The teachers also adopted various TQS: rephrasing, repetition, simplification, and decomposition. The findings confirm the roles of teachers' questioning strategies to improve students' engagement. This engagement contributes to students' understanding, resulting in enhanced learning effectiveness. Therefore, teachers need to strengthen their awareness of their questioning abilities to optimise the teaching and learning experience in the classroom.
