Purpose: Content analysis of school websites may reveal the degree to which schools value physical education (PE) and physical activity (PA). We used the approach to quantify Maryland's private school websites' PE/PA content and associations with school characteristics. Method: The analytic sample (n = 387) was examined for mention of PE-/PA-related content (e.g., curriculum, dosage, intramurals). Associations between content and school characteristics (e.g., grade levels offered, religious orientation) were examined using Pearson's chi-squared test. Results: PE (∼75% of school websites) was mentioned most frequently, and PA images and PE curriculum (∼30% each) were mentioned least frequently. Elementary and Catholic school websites were proportionately less and more likely, respectively, to mention various PE/PA content. Discussion/Conclusion: Representation of PE/PA content among Maryland's private schools surpassed that found in previous studies. Nonetheless, relative omission of some content may allude to PE/PA being less valued compared with other academic subjects. Because some stakeholders within medicine seek to diversify and attain greater workforce equity, it is critical to understand gender-based divisions within specialization. Radiation oncology (RO) has one of the smallest proportions of women representation of all specialties, and to our knowledge, no prior studies have investigated gender differences in all the disease site specializations within RO. Thus, we analyzed the relationship between gender and disease site(s) treated in academic RO (ARO). Faculty gender and disease site(s) treated by faculty from ARO departments were collected via publicly available department websites in January 2020. X2 analyses were conducted to assess differences between the proportions of women faculty treating each disease site. Of 1337 ARO faculty, 408 (30.5%) were identified as women. Breast, gynecology, and pediatrics had the largest proportions of women faculty (all >40%; P <.001). A majority (53%; P <.001) of women ARO faculty treated breast. Genitourinary, thoracic, and head and neck had the smallest proportions of women faculty (all <25%; P <.001). Women ARO faculty were twice as likely to treat breast and gynecologic malignancies compared with men faculty (risk ratio [RR] with 95% CI, 2.01 [1.75-2.50]; P <.001 and RR [95% CI], 2.06 [1.72-2.79]; P <.001, respectively). Men ARO faculty were 3 times more likely to treat genitourinary cancer compared with women faculty (RR [95% CI], 0.40 [0.34-0.48]; P <.001). There was no difference in the mean number of disease sites treated between women and men ARO faculty (2.63 vs 2.53; P =.29). Gender differences in disease site specialization were observed in ARO. This study addresses the gap in the literature in terms of the lack of guidelines for organisations that would like to use social media to facilitate organisational learning (OL). This study presents an overarching conceptual theoretical framework that can assist organisations in integrating social media and OL. The framework helped explore at what level and what type of OL occurred from employees' use of social media in organisations. The study used the interpretive research philosophy/paradigm, inductive approach and case studies to determine how employees use Web 2.0 tools in organisations and how that use leads to OL. The data were collected using semi-structured, in-depth interviews with three different companies and seven industry experts. The research findings were used to develop a conceptual theoretical framework with key concepts that explain how the use of social media could facilitate OL. The conceptual theoretical framework was tested and reviewed by experts. Introduction: Websites and online resources are increasingly becoming patients' main source of healthcare information. It is paramount that high quality information is available online to enhance patient education and improve clinical outcomes. Upper gastrointestinal (UGI) endoscopy is the gold standard investigation for UGI symptoms and yet little is known regarding the quality of patient orientated websites. The aim of this study was to assess the quality of online patient information on UGI endoscopy using the modified Ensuring Quality Information for Patients (EQIP) tool. Methods: Ten search terms were employed to conduct a systematic review. for each term, the top 100 websites identified via a Google search were assessed using the modified EQIP tool. High scoring websites underwent further analysis. Websites intended for professional use by clinicians as well as those containing video or marketing content were excluded. Findings: A total of 378 websites were eligible for analysis. The median modified EQIP score for UGI endoscopy was 18/36 (interquartile range: 14–21). The median EQIP scores for the content, identification and structure domains were 8/18, 1/6 and 9/12 respectively. Higher modified EQIP scores were obtained for websites produced by government departments and National Health Service hospitals (p=0.007). Complication rates were documented in only a fifth (20.4%) of websites. High scoring websites were significantly more likely to provide balanced information on risks and benefits (94.6% vs 34.4%, p<0.001). Conclusions: There is an immediate need to improve the quality of online patient information regarding UGI endoscopy. The currently available resources provide minimal information on the risks associated with the procedure, potentially hindering patients' ability to make informed healthcare decisions. This paper investigates the activity of Japanese-language dark web sites by examining a Japanese dark web forum, the Onion Channel. While global crypto markets and English-language forums have been extensively studied, there has been little research on Japanese-language dark web sites. The number of posts and the variety of activities on the Onion Channel started increasing around mid-2012, exhibited steady growth until the end of 2016, and then showed a declining trend toward mid-2020. This study classifies activities on the forum into 10 categories. The forum was dominated by illegal and unethical activity. In particular, illegal drug dealing and cyberbullying were the two major illegal and unethical activities that took place there. The large presence of drug-related activity suggests that the forum on the dark web operated as a substitute for crypto markets. Textual analysis revealed that cannabis and methamphetamine were two major drugs that were likely to be sold, and those deals were likely to be completed face-to-face at a designated location. There was also a certain amount of illegal content, such as information related to fraud, identity theft and sales of false IDs, and hacking, as well as criminal conversations. Online discourse integration, or the degree to which online user comments are responsive, that is, address or refer to other debate participants, is a normatively valued yet neglected quality dimension of online discussions. This preregistered study features the first cross-country/cross-platform investigation of online discourse integration, using manual and computational content analysis (N = 9835 and N = 30,753 positional news reader comments). Unexpectedly, about one quarter of the comments was responsive in both majoritarian and consensus-oriented democracies (Australia/United States vs Germany/Switzerland) and on platforms that separate or mix public and private contexts (websites vs Facebook pages of mainstream media), even though other deliberative quality criteria were previously shown to vary by country and platform. Comments that are responsive to fellow commenters in the opposing perspective camp were more likely to contain negative evaluations of those addressed, whereas comments responsive within the same perspective camp were more likely to contain positive evaluations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was important for people to be able to comprehend information about mRNA vaccination. Moderna and Pfizer were two of the largest distributors of mRNA vaccinations, and their websites provided information about how mRNA vaccinations work. Applying the tenets of Fuzzy-trace Theory (FTT), we calculated Gist Inference Scores (GIS) to assess the extent to which texts taken from Moderna and Pfizer websites facilitate gist comprehension. We then rewrote the Moderna and Pfizer texts to increase GIS and tested their ability to facilitate a reader's understanding of how mRNA vaccinations work. We conducted two experiments in which participants read original Moderna and Pfizer texts, a High GIS-version presenting the same content, or control texts on unrelated topics. Findings indicate that the High GIS-version increased comprehension. The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry in the US faces increasing labor shortages while accumulating downward productivity trends. Previous research efforts have shown that lack of timely access to information is one of the main factors hindering construction workers' productivity, and prompt information extraction (IE) from BIM sources can help address this issue. This study develops a BIM-web interoperable system, featuring a voice-based intelligent virtual agent (VIVA), to provide workers with information on-demand when conducting their activities on the jobsite. VIVA integrates construction digital sources with web platforms to enable real-time data communication between the users, workers in this case, and BIM platforms. The voice interaction feature of VIVA provides an intuitive and safe tool that can easily be used by workers with varying ranges of experience, with minimal need for training. The responsiveness and accuracy of VIVA is evaluated through two proof-of-concept case studies. Results indicate that the BIM-VIVA link and underlying natural language understanding (NLU) algorithms in the Google Actions platform accurately understand user queries, with a performance of 97.50% correct responses. As a result, VIVA achieves superior performance compared with previous research works based on NLU algorithms with text-based queries. The developments made in this research not only contribute to improving the safety and productivity of construction workers but also can open the door for easier onboarding of less-experienced workers, thus addressing the industry's severe skilled labor shortage issue. Practical Applications: This study introduces an innovative web-based system featuring VIVA to address the pressing labor shortage and diminishing productivity in the AEC industry. VIVA seamlessly integrates construction digital sources with web platforms, enabling real-time communication with construction workers and facilitating their on-demand information retrieval. The intuitive voice interaction feature of VIVA offers a safe and easily navigable tool that demands minimal training for workers with diverse backgrounds and experience levels. This feature also makes VIVA a practical tool for hands-free communication and information retrieval on jobsites, which minimizes the imposed distraction inherent in technological solutions. Construction workers can use voice commands to access project plans, schedules, and safety protocols, allowing them to retrieve critical information without having to stop work or use their hands. This intuitive interface reduces the need for complex user interfaces or manual input, making it easier for workers to interact with technology while focusing on their tasks. Hence, VIVA promises to improve productivity and safety of diverse group of workers without causing distraction or safety issues itself, which is a common concern when implementing technology to assist workers in hazardous and ever-changing construction jobsites. Beyond enhancing safety and productivity, widespread use of VIVA can help address the AEC sector's severe skilled labor shortage by providing an accessible means to onboard less-experienced workers. As such, VIVA provides opportunities to augment efficiency for seasonal/nonnative workers, thus facilitating the integration of a broader workforce and addressing the industry's pressing labor challenges. This study applies a participatory design approach including the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of a participative website in media literacy for Iranian teachers. In the design cycle, we utilized collaboration with Iranian teachers formulating basic inceptive design in three workshops identifying needs and requirements in media literacy. The development process was through paper-based prototyping of design components of the website by participants embodying particular design guidelines and ideated design concepts for the website. In the implementation step, the website was launched based on guidelines and prototypes taken from participants in the workshops. The website was evaluated by teachers based on four factors including being educational, facilitating networking, being engaging, and user-friendly. The result of this research informs researchers about the benefit of a participatory design approach to design a platform in media literacy for teachers. We argue that the process of applying participatory design and the design components prototyped by teachers for designing a website in media literacy can be a guide for researchers and all other agents who are active in media literacy education. Health translation has gotten considerable attention recently because language diversity in multilingual societies often leads to language barriers. The present study evaluates the linguistic comprehensibility of translations in the "Health Translations Website" from the Victorian Government of Australia using the patient-oriented and culturally-appropriate health translation model (POCA). Seven documents were randomly chosen from the website with their translations and were analysed based on the six categories of the linguistic comprehensibility section of the POCA model. Then, they were given to the senior translation students in Iran to be translated again. After that, the same chunks of the two translations were put to the vote using the Telegram platform, and 132 lay people participated. The analysis revealed that senior students' translations were more understandable than the website's in all six categories. Due to the sensitive nature of the healthcare field, this study suggests that the authorities in multilingual communities collect their audience's opinions, as ultimate users, to discover the language barriers and then take appropriate measures to remove them. Domestic translators can also enhance the translation quality and, subsequently, comprehensibility since they are more familiar with the culture of the intended language, which in this case is Persian. This study aimed to evaluate the current state of accessibility, performance and engagement of higher education institution websites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Using four tools, namely AChecker, WAVE, PageSpeed Insights and Similarweb, a total of 58 higher education homepages were evaluated from both the public and private sectors. The results show that only 8% of the evaluated websites conformed fully to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. Ninety-five percent of the websites had poor performance or needed further improvement, and interestingly, 60% had a good bounce rate. The results also show that users significantly spent more time and visited more pages on the websites of the public institutions compared to the private ones. These findings call for an urgent need to address web accessibility and performance violations in higher education institution websites in Saudi Arabia to make them more accessible for all their potential users. This paper reports the results of the automated accessibility evaluation of nearly three million web pages. The analysis of the evaluations allowed us to characterize the status of web accessibility. On average, we identified 30 errors per web page, and only a very small number of pages had no accessibility barriers identified. The more frequent problems found were inadequate text contrast and lack of accessible names. Additionally, we identified the technologies present in the websites evaluated, which allowed us to relate web technologies with the accessibility level, as measured by A3, an accessibility metric. Our findings show that most categories of web technologies impact the accessibility of web pages, but that even for those categories that show a negative impact, it is possible to select technologies that improve or do not impair the accessibility of the web content. Google employs PageRank to rank web pages, determining the order in which search results are presented to users based on their queries. PageRank is primarily utilized for directed networks, although there are instances where it is also applied to undirected networks. In this paper, we have applied PageRank to undirected networks, showing that a vertex’s PageRank relies on its initial value, often referred to as an intrinsic, non-network contribution. We have analytically proved that when the initial value of vertices is either proportional to their degrees or set to zero, the PageRank values of the vertices become directly proportional to their degrees. Purpose Methods Results Conclusions Smartphones are the most frequently used digital devices globally with ~6.80 billion users. Despite the ubiquitous use of smartphones, limited information is known on the preferred viewing distance and font size of smartphone users. This study investigated viewing distance, font size and symptoms of eyestrain in non‐presbyopic and presbyopic smartphone users.In this quantitative research study, viewing distance and font size were measured in a group of non‐presbyopes (n = 107) and presbyopes (n = 53), whilst participants viewed a text message and a web page on their own smartphone. Subjects also responded to a verbal questionnaire related to the characteristics of their smartphone and the computer vision syndrome questionnaire to assess symptoms of eyestrain. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics.For the total sample, the mean viewing distance for a text message was 37.13 ± 8.82 cm (median 36.00 cm), and for a web page was 36.11 ± 7.98 cm (median 36.00 cm). Presbyopes had longer median viewing distances compared with non‐presbyopes for a text message (41 cm vs. 34 cm, p < 0.001) and web page (40 cm vs. 34 cm, p < 0.001). The font size for non‐presbyopes were <1.0 M whilst for presbyopes were >1.2 M. More than twice the percentage of non‐presbyopes were classified with digital eyestrain (DES) compared with presbyopes.Non‐presbyopes used shorter viewing distances, smaller font sizes and were more predisposed to DES than presbyopes. The viewing distances adopted by presbyopes were similar to the conventional near‐working distance of 40 cm. Eye care practitioners should consider viewing distances when assessing near‐visual functions and prescribing a near refractive correction, particularly in non‐presbyopes. Introduction: Digital journalism is well established in Portugal. However, the Portuguese public tend to opt for traditional media websites over those of a digital native nature. This research will confirm whether the reason for the national success of the former type of media is that their websites offer more participation mechanisms for the publics. Methods: Based on a qualitative methodology, an ad hoc methodological instrument was designed that allows for the evaluation of the ways in which audiences can interact with brands and content. Results and discussion: The results are highly surprising, since it is not possible to verify any type of relationship between preferred media and the number of audience participation mechanisms. Do the career motives of presidential appointees affect program administration? To answer this question, I examine the phased development of policy communication of the U.S. Farm Service Agency (FSA) across states from 2002 to 2018 based on an original collection of historical official websites. This is a rare policy context for examining why peer appointees administer the same programs differently. Linking the state‐by‐state development of FSA newsletters to the career trajectories of state executive directors (SEDs), the presidential appointees who lead state FSAs, I show that SEDs interested in elective office post‐appointment are associated with faster institutionalization of newsletters. Examining these newsletters’ content, I then show that SEDs interested in elective office or a career in advocacy include more participation‐encouraging language in newsletters. These results suggest that appointees’ career goals outside the bureaucracy can potentially expedite innovation in program implementation and enhance the delivery of government benefits to the public, with implications for selecting appointees to enhance bureaucratic performance. Introduction: As many web platforms adopt collaborative content editing models, the gender gap is addressed as one of the chief concerns in using technology to restrict content editing by one gender. Objective: This study aims to analyze the Arabic Wikipedia, the largest collaborative content editing platform on the Arabic web, in terms of gender behavior and differences in user activities. Methods: This study is the first to address the gender gap in Arabic Wikipedia, characterize users' gender through their behavior, and then address changes in characteristics over the past five years. This study analyzes parts of Arabic Wikipedia offline by linking article pages and page edit histories to user profiles of known genders. Results: This study reported that a gender gap exists in Arabic Wikipedia. The results reported differences over the past five years between both genders in terms of tasks and user behavior. One aspect that indicated similarity is the period of active time over months/years. Differences were observed in the reported number of increasing users, activities, responsibilities, and average actions performed. Conclusion: The results reveal a vast gap in terms of gender behavior in Wikipedia activities. Background: Fertility centre websites are a key sources of information on medically assisted reproduction (MAR) for both infertile people and the general public. As part of a global fertility market, they are also a window to attract potential future patients. They give formal and practical information but in the way the information is displayed, they also convey social representations, and in particular, gender representation in its intersectional dimension. The objective is to analyse the sex, class and race representations regarding reproduction and parenthood that are embedded in the content of fertility centre websites in eight European countries. Methods: The 5 most visible fertility centres that appeared in the first places on Internet search were selected for each country under study, except for one country which has only three fertility centres. In total, 38 fertility centre websites were considered for a thematic analysis using an iterative approach and a comprehensive perspective. Results: Each centre details its services and techniques according to the legal provisions in force in its country. However, on all the websites studied, the fertility centres demonstrate a strong gendered representation. The logos generally depict women or parts of their bodies, as do the photos, which mainly show white women with light eyes. The description of the causes of infertility and the techniques offered by the centres also highlights gender differences. Sperm donation, where MAR is reserved for heterosexual couples, is included among the techniques for women with the comment that it will enable them to fulfil their dream of becoming mothers. Conclusions: MAR, and through it the project of having a child and procreative work, is presented as a matter for white, cisgender and heterosexual women, thus fueling stratified reproduction and limiting reproductive justice. The research team formulated guidelines for fertility centres to encourage them to adopt a more inclusive approach in terms of sex, social class and race, so that the diversity of infertile people feel involved and welcome in these centres, to avoid misperceptions about infertility in the general population and to reinforce autonomy and justice in reproductive matters. Intrasaccular flow disruption with the Woven Endobridge (WEB) has become a well-established endovascular technique for the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. This study presents our 12-year experience with the WEB and evaluates its evolving indications, procedures, and outcomes. A consecutive series of 324 aneurysms treated with WEB between 2011 and 2023 at three neurovascular centers was retrospectively analyzed and the study group was divided into four treatment periods. Uni- and multivariate analyses were performed to evaluate factors associated with technical success, thromboembolic complications, and angiographic outcome. The mean aneurysm size was 7.0 ± 3.6 mm and decreased during the study period, while the proportion of atypical sites for WEB implantation increased. WEB implantation was technically successful in 96.0%, and the ratio of WEB width to dome width increased during the study period, indicating oversizing. The neurological complication rate was 4.9% (1.5% major, 3.4% minor) and the mid-term complete occlusion rate was 60.6% (81.9% adequate occlusion), with no statistical differences in either outcome measure between the study periods. In multivariate analyses, the use of WEB 17 was associated with increased technical success (HR: 7.4, 95%CI: 2.4-23.6, p<0.01), whereas ruptured aneurysm status (HR: 2.5, 95%CI: 1.0-6.0, p=0.04) and the use of additional stents (HR: 4.8, 95%CI: 1.6-14.4, p<0.01) predicted thromboembolic complications. Appropriate oversizing of the WEB favored mid-term complete occlusion (HR: 10.5, 95%CI: 1.3-83.3, p=0.03). Manipulated media – images, video, and audio – have proliferated online. Widely available modification software, rudimentary practices, and advanced techniques involving machine learning and artificial intelligence have been used to manipulate media. This article critically explores illegal and nonconsensual nude and sexually explicit (NSE) deepfakes and the measures implemented to counter them. The motivating questions for this analysis are: What measures are in place to counter illegal and nonconsensual NSE deepfakes? Are these measures sufficient? The objectives of this article are three-fold: (1) to identify illegal and nonconsensual NSE deepfakes and illegal uses of them; (2) to critically evaluate the current legal and technological countermeasures available in various jurisdictions to combat illicit and nonconsensual NSE deepfakes; and (3) to make recommendations based on challenges and deficits in existing legal and technological mechanisms employed to tackle them. Ultimately, our findings indicate that there are technologies and legal measures that could effectively reduce the harm experienced by victims if: there is a collective will from the corporate, legislative, and political spheres to effectively execute these changes; and legal liability to remove NSE deepfakes is placed on the online platforms and websites that host and distribute this content. The treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is an unmet challenge, with the median overall survival rate remaining less than a year, even with the use of FOLFIRINOX-based therapies. This study analyzed archived macrophage-associated mRNA expression using datasets deposited in the UCSC Xena web platform to compare normal pancreatic tissue and PDAC tumor samples. The TGFB2 gene exhibited low mRNA expression levels in normal tissue, with less than one TPM. In contrast, in tumor tissue, TGFB2 expression levels exhibited a 7.9-fold increase in mRNA expression relative to normal tissue (p < 0.0001). Additionally, components of the type-I interferon signaling pathway exhibited significant upregulation of mRNA levels in tumor tissue, including Interferon alpha/beta receptor 1 (IFNAR1; 3.4-fold increase, p < 0.0001), Interferon regulatory factor 9 (IRF9; 4.2-fold increase, p < 0.0001), Signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1; 7.1-fold increase, p < 0.0001), and Interferon Alpha Inducible Protein 27 (IFI27; 66.3-fold increase, p < 0.0001). We also utilized TCGA datasets deposited in cBioportal and KMplotter to relate mRNA expression levels to overall survival outcomes. These increased levels of mRNA expression were found to be prognostically significant, whereby patients with high expression levels of either TGFB2, IRF9, or IFI27 showed median OS times ranging from 16 to 20 months (p < 0.01 compared to 72 months for patients with low levels of expression for both TGFB2 and either IRF9 or IFI27). Examination of the KMplotter database determined the prognostic impact of TGFB2 mRNA expression levels by comparing patients expressing high versus low levels of TGFB2 (50th percentile cut-off) in low macrophage TME. In TME with low macrophage levels, patients with high levels of TGFB2 mRNA exhibited significantly shorter OS outcomes than patients with low TGFB2 mRNA levels (Median OS of 15.3 versus 72.7 months, p < 0.0001). Furthermore, multivariate Cox regression models were applied to control for age at diagnosis. Nine genes exhibited significant increases in hazard ratios for TGFB2 mRNA expression, marker gene mRNA expression, and a significant interaction term between TGFB2 and marker gene expression (mRNA for markers: C1QA, CD74, HLA-DQB1, HLA-DRB1, HLA-F, IFI27, IRF9, LGALS9, MARCO). The results of our study suggest that a combination of pharmacological tools can be used in treating PDAC patients, targeting both TGFB2 and the components of the type-I interferon signaling pathway. The significant statistical interaction between TGFB2 and the nine marker genes suggests that TGFB2 is a negative prognostic indicator at low levels of the IFN-I activated genes and TAM marker expression, including the immune checkpoint LGALS9 (upregulated 16.5-fold in tumor tissue; p < 0.0001). Despite its importance, few validated scales exist to measure aesthetics in HCI. One notable exception, the Visual Aesthetics of Websites Inventory (VisAWI), has never been validated in English. Furthermore, the VisAWI contains negatively formulated items, which adversely impact the psychometric quality of survey scales. Consequently, this paper's aim was the development of a positive-item version of the VisAWI, the VisAWI-pos, as a viable alternative to the original scale. Positive alternatives for the negative items of the VisAWI scale were developed and evaluated in a first study (N = 41). Afterward, a pre-registered second study (N = 966) was conducted to validate the VisAWI-pos. In addition, the VisAWI's English version was formally validated for the first time. Results showed that the English VisAWI has comparable psychometric qualities to validated versions in other languages. Background: Allergic diseases are systemic chronic inflammatory diseases associated with multiorgan damage and complex pathogenesis. Several studies have revealed the association of gene expression abnormalities with the development of allergic diseases, but the biomedical field still lacks a public platform for comprehensive analysis and visualization of transcriptomic data of allergic diseases. Objective: The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive web tool for multiple analysis in allergic diseases. Methods: We retrieved and downloaded human and mouse gene expression profile data associated with allergic diseases from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and standardized the data uniformly. We used gene sets obtained from the MSigDB database for pathway enrichment analysis and multiple immune infiltration algorithms for the estimation of immune cell proportion. The basic construction of the web pages was based on the Shiny framework. Additionally, more convenient features were added to the server to improve the efficiency of the web pages, such as jQuery plugins and a comment box to collect user feedback. Results: We developed CTPAD, an interactive R Shiny application that integrates public databases and multiple algorithms to explore allergic disease-related datasets and implement rich transcriptomic visualization capabilities, including gene expression analysis, pathway enrichment analysis, immune infiltration analysis, correlation analysis, and single-cell RNA sequencing analysis. All functional modules offer customization options and can be downloaded in PDF format with high-resolution images. Conclusions: CTPAD largely facilitates the work of researchers without bioinformatics background to enable them to better explore the transcriptomic features associated with allergic diseases. Collective identity (CI) is one of the levels of the social construction of citizenship. It was assumed that since citizenship as a state-centred notion is difficult to maintain today, an analysis of CI should exceed national, ethnic, language and cultural identifications. What does it look like in the case of CI constructed discursively by youth organisations? The aim of the research presented in the paper is to reconstruct collective identities (CIs) based on a discourse analysis of selected youth organisations operating in Poland and an assessment of their community-individual orientation. The research material constituted 696 documents produced in 2018 by six youth organisations on their official websites and Facebook profiles. The approach by Ruth Wodak and Martin Reisigl was adopted. We analysed the application of discursive strategies in the texts referring to the ‘we’ and ‘they’ categories. The conclusions indicate, among others, that in the analysed discourses the CI is differentiated by the manner of distinguishing from ‘others’ and the constellation of predicates relating to the category ‘we’. Background: This research aimed to develop and validate a dynamic nomogram for predicting the risk of high care dependency during the hospital-family transition periods in older stroke patients. Methods: 309 older stroke patients in the hospital-family transition periods who were treated in the Department of Neurology outpatient clinics of three general hospitals in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province from June to December 2023 were selected as the training set. The patients were investigated with the General Patient Information Questionnaire, the Care Dependency Scale (CDS), the Tilburg Frailty Inventory (TFI), the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA), the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-17 (HAMD-17), and the Mini Nutrition Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF). Lasso-logistic regression analysis was used to screen the risk factors for high care dependency in older stroke patients during the hospital-family transition period, and a dynamic nomogram model was constructed. The model was uploaded in the form of a web page based on Shiny apps. The Bootstrap method was employed to repeat the process 1000 times for internal validation. The model's predictive efficacy was assessed using the calibration plot, decision curve analysis curve (DCA), and area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve. A total of 133 older stroke patients during the hospital-family transition periods who visited the outpatient department of Neurology of three general hospitals in Jinzhou from January to March 2024 were selected as the validation set for external validation of the model. Results: Based on the history of stroke, chronic disease, falls in the past 6 months, depression, malnutrition, and frailty, build a dynamic nomogram. The AUC under the ROC curves of the training set was 0.830 (95% CI: 0.784–0.875), and that of the validation set was 0.833 (95% CI: 0.766-0.900). The calibration curve was close to the ideal curve, and DCA results confirmed that the nomogram performed well in terms of clinical applicability. Conclusion: The online dynamic nomogram constructed in this study has good specificity, sensitivity, and clinical practicability, which can be applied to senior stroke patients as a prediction and assessment tool for high care dependency. To successfully learn using freely available (and non-curated) Internet resources, university students need to search for, critically evaluate and select online information, and verify sources (defined as Critical Online Reasoning, COR). Recent research indicates substantial deficits in COR skills among higher education students. To support students in learning how to critically use online information for their learning, it is necessary to better understand the strategies and practices that might elicit less critically-reflective judgments about online information and thus account for such deficits. To this end, using eye tracking data, we investigate how the COR behaviors of students who critically-reflectively evaluate the credibility of online information ('high performers') differ from those of students who do not critically-reflectively evaluate it ('low performers'): 19 students were divided into high and low performers according to their performance in the newly developed Critical Online Reasoning Assessment (CORA). The fixation and dwell times of both groups during CORA task processing were compared regarding time spent on the different processing steps and eye movements on the visited web pages. The results show noticeable differences between the two groups, indicating that low performers indeed approached the task rather heuristically than systematically, and that COR skills require targeted and effective training in higher education. Collecting and transplanting wild seedlings and mature plants have been used in restoration projects to reduce costs and increase conservation of local genetic material. We review the published literature on restoration projects that used transplanted seedlings and mature plants for ecological restoration. Searching the Web of Science platform using five keywords for articles published in 1945–2023 resulted in 621 articles, with only 51 (9%) of them relevant to the topic. We categorized these 51 publications by ecosystem type, the number and growth forms of species, plant survival rate, as well as the time and cost of transplantation. Forests and wetlands were the most researched ecosystems, and most articles studied tropical forests and the southeastern region of Brazil. Nearly half of the studies (44%) used trees for transplantation, and 73% focused on only one species. In wetlands, mainly aquatic herbs were transplanted (38%). Survival was highest in wetlands (lakes) and lowest in temperate and tropical forests, regardless of the number of species or growth forms. Only three articles (7%) included costs or the time frame of the process of transplantation or monitoring. Despite having few published studies, this practice has high potential for the ecological restoration of tropical and temperate forests. Seedlings and adult plants from natural regeneration can be transplanted to complement or even replace conventional methods of planting nursery seedlings and direct sowing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Internationally, there has been a move towards fostering diverse healthcare workforces that are representative of the patient populations they serve. Selection criteria for academic-clinicians often aim to capture skills and attributes that demonstrate both clinical and academic excellence. Currently, it is not known whether the selection criteria for early academic-clinical careers advantage or disadvantage certain ethnic or socioeconomic groups. The UK has a structured route of integrated clinical academic training with entry level training for newly qualified doctors administered through the 'Specialised Foundation Programme' which provides protected time for research within the first two years of postgraduate clinical training. In this study, we aim to identify what selection criteria are used within the UK Specialised Foundation Programme, and how these relate to demographic factors. Methods: We will perform a mixed methods study consisting of a document analysis of person specifications and selection criteria used in the 2024 UK Specialised Foundation Programme, and a national cross-sectional survey of current medical students in the UK. We will obtain the person specifications, selection criteria, white space (open ended questions used during shortlisting) and interview questions and mark schemes from each Specialised Unit of Applications via information available on their websites or through Freedom of Information requests. Our survey will collect information relating to demographic data, selection criteria, and perceptions of specialised foundation programme selection. Discussion: International literature has demonstrated inequity in academic markers used in selection of post-graduate clinicians and that disadvantages caused by selection can compound over time. As such it is important to understand what inequity exists within the selection of early academic-clinicians, as this can help inform more equitable selection practices and help nurture a more diverse academic-clinical workforce. Simple Summary: Phosphorylation is a crucial process that regulates various cellular activities. Detecting phosphorylation sites, especially in cells infected by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, is challenging due to technical limitations. To address this, we developed GBMPhos, an advanced tool combining deep learning techniques, to accurately identify these sites. GBMPhos outperformed traditional methods and current state-of-the-art approaches in identifying phosphorylation sites. We have developed a free web server, which helps researchers gain a better understanding of protein modifications during a SARS-CoV-2 infection, potentially aiding in the development of therapeutic strategies and contributing to the fight against COVID-19. Phosphorylation, a reversible and widespread post-translational modification of proteins, is essential for numerous cellular processes. However, due to technical limitations, large-scale detection of phosphorylation sites, especially those infected by SARS-CoV-2, remains a challenging task. To address this gap, we propose a method called GBMPhos, a novel method that combines convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for extracting local features, gating mechanisms to selectively focus on relevant information, and a bi-directional gated recurrent unit (Bi-GRU) to capture long-range dependencies within protein sequences. GBMPhos leverages a comprehensive set of features, including sequence encoding, physicochemical properties, and structural information, to provide an in-depth analysis of phosphorylation sites. We conducted an extensive comparison of GBMPhos with traditional machine learning algorithms and state-of-the-art methods. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of GBMPhos over existing methods. The visualization analysis further highlights its effectiveness and efficiency. Aim: To gain insight into the current status of peer review guidelines in international surgical journals and to offer guidance for the development of peer review guidelines for surgical journals. Methods: We selected the top 100 journals in the category of 'Surgery' according to the Journal Citation Report 2021. We conducted a search of the websites of these journals, and Web of Science, PubMed, other databases, in order to gather the peer review guidelines published by these top 100 journals up until June 30, 2022. Additionally, we analysed the contents of these peer review guidelines. Results: Only 52% (52/100) of journals provided guidelines for reviewers. Sixteen peer review guidelines which were published by these 52 surgical journals were included in this study. The contents of these peer review guidelines were classified into 33 items. The most common item was research methodology, which was mentioned by 13 journals (25%, 13/52). Other important items include statistical methodology, mentioned by 11 journals (21.2%), the rationality of figures, tables, and data, mentioned by 11 journals (21.2%), innovation of research, mentioned by nine journals (17.3%), and language expression, readability of papers, ethical review, references, and so forth, mentioned by eight journals (15.4%). Two journals described items for quality assessment of peer review. Forty‐three journals offered a checklist to guide reviewers on how to write a review report. Some surgical journals developed peer review guidelines for reviewers with different academic levels, such as professional reviewers and patient/public reviewers. Additionally, some surgical journals provided specific items for different types of papers, such as original articles, reviews, surgical videos, surgical database research, surgery‐related outcome measurements, and case reports in their peer review guidelines. Conclusions: Key contents of peer review guidelines for the reviewers of surgical journals not only include items relating to reviewing research methodology, statistical methods, figures, tables and data, research innovation, ethical review, but also cover items concerning reviewing surgical videos, surgical database research, surgery‐related outcome measurements, instructions on how to write a review report, and guidelines on how to assess quality of peer review. Introduction The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), North American Skull Base Society (NASBS), American Rhinologic Society (ARS), and American Neurotology Society (ANS) fellowship directories are important information repositories for skull base surgical fellowship programs. However, there is limited research on the amount and depth of information available through these resources. The objective of the present study is to assess Web site accessibility and information availability for individual fellowship programs listed within the AANS, NASBS, ARS, and ANS fellowship directories. Methods Lists of all accredited skull base surgical programs were obtained from the AANS and NASBS fellowship directories. Duplications in listed programs were removed, and systematic queries via an online search engine were conducted to identify fellowship Web sites. From each available Web site, information pertaining to 24 different variables was collected and organized into two categories—recruitment and education. Differences in the availability of information on recruitment and education were then compared across Web sites and contextualized relative to other surgical specialties. Results After excluding duplicates, 113 fellowship programs were identified, of which 99 (87.6%) had accessible Web sites. Of the 48 listed by the NASBS, direct Web site links were available for 33 (68.8%), email contacts were accessible for 32 (66.7%), and phone numbers were listed for 6 (12.5%). Of the 39 programs listed by the AANS, none included Web site links, 38 (97.4%) provided an email contact, and 39 (100%) listed a departmental contact telephone number. All 28 (100%) programs listed by the ANS provided a phone and email contact in addition to a Web site link to each institutional Web site. Of the 33 programs listed by the ARS, 29 (88%) had a departmental contact telephone number, 31 (94%) had an email contact available, and 4 (12%) had a program Web site link directly available from the database Web site. Of the 99 total programs, fellowship Web sites displayed an average of 5.46 (42.0%) of the 13 recruitment features and 4.80 (42.6%) of the 11 education features. Programs in the geographic Northeast were significantly less likely to present information pertaining to recruitment (p = 0.023). Furthermore, programs in geographic Northeast and West were significantly less likely to present information focused on surgical training and/or education (p = 0.006). Conclusion Although many skull base fellowship programs have maintained comprehensive program Web sites, certain critical aspects remain deficient, and some programs provide little to no information. Background: Facebook (FB) is the most popular online networking platform. Many celiac disease Facebook (CD-FB) pages spread awareness about celiac disease (CD). To get the latest information, patients with CD frequently follow such pages. However, little is known about whether such pages provide authentic and reliable information. Aims: This study aims to investigate whether CD-FB pages spread misleading information to patients with CD. Methods: On the Facebook social networking platform, CD-FB pages created in three celiac-prevalent countries (Italy, the USA, and India) were explored using different combinations of keywords. The type/category of the CD-FB page, country of origin, purpose, page web link, and number of followers/members were documented in a Microsoft spreadsheet. All posts distributed on selected CD-FB pages in the last 3 years were thoroughly screened. Results: From August 2022 to March 2023, a total of 200 CD-FB pages from Italy, the USA, and India were explored. Out of these 200 pages, 155 CD-FB (Italy 70; the USA 46; India 39) were found eligible. Of them, 20 (13%) CD-FB pages (Italy 4; the USA 5; India 11) shared misleading information about CD. Surprisingly, 11 (8%) of these 20 pages (Italy 0; the USA 2; India 9) supported alternative treatment options for CD. Conclusions: CD-FB pages are useful for disseminating celiac-disease-related information. While most such pages provide useful information, 13% of CD-FB pages allow misleading information. Transparency --encompassing methodological, financial, and source-related aspects, as well as the tools employed-- is central to the operations of professional fact-checking platforms. However, the growing adoption of artificial intelligence tools in fact-checking introduces new ethical challenges. This research investigates the extent to which these platforms believe they should disclose their use of AI and assesses the current practices on their websites regarding this technology. The study employs a qualitative methodology, including semi-structured interviews with professionals from accredited Spanish verification platforms and content analysis of these organizations' websites. The findings indicate that transparency in AI usage is widely regarded as an ethical imperative. Nevertheless, the application of this standard often becomes ambiguous when addressing specific practices and cases. Many professionals question the necessity of explicitly disclosing AI usage when the technology primarily supports the verification and is overseen by human reviewers. Additionally, a lack of understanding of AI's functionality sometimes hinders the ability to identify whether the tools employed incorporate AI. The content analysis also reveals that explicit mentions of AI use on the websites are rare and that platforms lack open-access manuals or protocols that outline and regulate their AI practices. In the field of crystallography, there are a wide variety of free online resources such as web pages, interactive applets, databases and programs that can be implemented in fundamental crystallography courses for different academic levels and curricula. This paper discusses a variety of resources that can be helpful for crystallographic symmetry handling and visualization, discussing four specific resources in detail: the Bilbao Crystallographic Server, the Cambridge Structural Database, VESTA and Jmol. Purpose: The Ventral Hernia Working Group (VHWG) proposed a ventral hernia grading guideline, primarily supported by expert opinion, recommending biologic mesh placement in high-risk patients. We investigated the relationship between this industry-sponsored guideline and discourse around ventral hernia repair (VHR). Methods: Medline platform from Web of Science's database identified publications "pre-VHWG"(1999-01-01 to 2009-12-31), and "post-VHWG"(2010-01-01 to 2020-12-31) describing VHR and complications or recurrence of VHR with the following comorbidities: COPD, smoking, diabetes, immunosuppression, or obesity. Poisson regression analyzed keyword frequency over time using logarithmically transformed data. Results: Of 1291 VHR publications identified pre-VHWG and 3041 publications identified post-VHWG, 172 (13.3%) and 642 (21.1%) publications respectively included prespecified keywords. The keyword groups "biologic"(IRR 3.39,95%CI1.34-11.4,p = 0.022) and "comorbid"(IRR 1.95, 95%CI1.09-3.74,p = 0.033) significantly increased with frequency after publication of the VHWG. Online eikaiwa, or English conversations via teleconferencing platforms, is a popular informal English learning avenue among Japanese nationals. Although online eikaiwa has received scholarly attention in recent years, only a few studies have investigated the current diversification efforts in the industry in terms of hiring teachers from various ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. Using critical discourse analysis, this paper analyzed multimodal semiotic resources of texts, videos, and photos found on online eikaiwa companies' websites and student customers' reviews. The findings reveal that the diversification trend initiated by online eikaiwa schools supports everyday discourses that hierarchise unequal Englishes and reinforce native-speakerism. We also found that despite the ubiquity of native speaker bias, female teachers from the Philippines and Serbia are highly commodified because of the unequal social and gendered relations among teachers and student customers. Our analysis shows that male Japanese consumers engaged in conversations with female LX (Dewaele, J. M. 2018. "Why the Dichotomy 'L1 Versus LX User' is Better Than 'Native Versus non-Native Speaker'." Applied Linguistics 39 (2): 236–240) English speaking teachers (ESTs) not primarily for language development but for their desire and fetishes for female teachers. INTRODUCTION: Obtaining a national training number in trauma and orthopaedic surgery (T&O) remains highly competitive. The aim of this study was to provide an insight into applicants' preparation for the T&O ST3 national selection interview. METHODS: A total of 292 junior doctors applying to T&O national selection in 2021–2022 were sent questionnaires using an online platform between December 2020 and December 2021. Participants were identified from those attending the annual OrthoRevision ST3 core interview knowledge course. Overall, 124 junior doctors (42%) covering all 16 surgical training regions in the UK completed feedback. RESULTS: While there is wide variation in how much applicants spend on interview preparation (e.g. books, revision websites, courses), 60% of candidates spend between £100 and £500, and 21% spend in excess of this. Almost half (43%) of the trainees start preparation three months before the interview, the preferred method being practice with colleagues (57%). Three-quarters (77%) use the OrthoInterview question bank. Free mock interview courses were only available to 33%, with candidates strongly in favour (80%) of the study budget covering preparatory courses, in addition to study leave being granted to attend these courses (86%). At the first attempt of obtaining a national training number, 66% were selective about where they would accept a job; for subsequent years, this dropped to 36%. CONCLUSIONS: For the first time, we present the preparation undertaken by applicants to T&O national training in the UK. Kennel club registrations have been used in a number of studies to estimate ownership levels and fashion trends among dog breeds. They cannot, however, give a complete overview of the contemporary trade in pet dogs, and additionally, may be particularly poor at monitoring trends among some welfare-vulnerable breeds. Here, we compared data from online advertisements for the UK sales of single-breed dogs over an 18-month period, with equivalent data (including for prior and subsequent years) from the UK Kennel Club. Kennel Club registration rates and breed popularity rates online were positively correlated. However, some breeds, including the Jack Russell terrier, Border collie and Chihuahua were considerably over-represented in online advertisements when compared with Kennel Club registrations, indicating a hidden market for certain breeds. In addition, the online dataset provided information on the sale and re-homing of adult dogs, showing high rates of adult homing of the Staffordshire bull terrier, Siberian husky and Rottweiler. Mental health is an increasing topic of focus since more than 500 million people in the world suffer from depression and anxiety. In this multifactorial disorder, parameters such as inflammation, the state of the microbiota and, therefore, the patient's nutrition are receiving more attention. In addition, food products are the source of many essential ingredients involved in the regulation of mental processes, including amino acids, neurotransmitters, vitamins, and others. For this reason, this narrative review was carried out with the aim of analyzing the role of nutrition in depression and anxiety disorders. To reach the review aim, a critical review was conducted utilizing both primary sources, such as scientific publications and secondary sources, such as bibliographic indexes, web pages, and databases. The search was conducted in PsychINFO, MedLine (Pubmed), Cochrane (Wiley), Embase, and CinAhl. The results show a direct relationship between what we eat and the state of our nervous system. The gut–brain axis is a complex system in which the intestinal microbiota communicates directly with our nervous system and provides it with neurotransmitters for its proper functioning. An imbalance in our microbiota due to poor nutrition will cause an inflammatory response that, if sustained over time and together with other factors, can lead to disorders such as anxiety and depression. Changes in the functions of the microbiota–gut–brain axis have been linked to several mental disorders. It is believed that the modulation of the microbiome composition may be an effective strategy for a new treatment of these disorders. Modifications in nutritional behaviors and the use of ergogenic components are presented as important non-pharmacological interventions in anxiety and depression prevention and treatment. This paper aims to systematically review and analyze the literature on green shipping, focusing on research trends, key areas, and future directions. A bibliometric analysis is conducted on 1339 articles published between 2000 and 2023, using data from the SCI-EXPANDED and SSCI core collections on the Web of Science platform. Co-occurrence analyses are performed for authors, countries, institutions, and keywords. The analysis reveals exponential growth in green shipping research over the past decade, with a significant increase since 2019. China leads in publication output and international collaboration. Key research areas identified include sustainable development, green energy, green ports, and green supply chain management. Green shipping research is rapidly expanding, emphasizing sustainable practices and technological advancements. Future research is expected to integrate artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and other advanced technologies to further promote sustainability. This study identified which key performance indicators that predict the probability of winning are similar and specific for the top CONMEBOL and UEFA leagues. The analysis covered 12,289 games from the 2017/2018 to 2021/2022 seasons, excluding draws to focus on decisive results. Performance metrics were extracted using the InStat Scout® web platform, evaluating 55 offensive and defensive performance variables from the CONMEBOL and UEFA leagues. For data analysis, binary logistic regression was performed with the Forward Stepwise method. 14 similar predictive variables were identified between the CONMEBOL and UEFA leagues. We also identified 6 win-predictor variables specific to CONMEBOL, 2 win-predictor variables specific to UEFA, and 1 contextual variable that was predictive of victory for the CONMEBOL and UEFA leagues. The KPIs that are associated with an increased likelihood of winning games were identified. These include offensive actions, such as creating scoring chances, entering the final third of the opponent's field, shooting on goal, and being effective in counterattacks, converting penalties, and direct free kicks and making important passes and passes. For defensive actions, it was found that fouls, recoveries, possession interceptions, and low block defensive pressures are also associated with an increased likelihood of winning in the five main CONMEBOL and UEFA leagues. Particularly, for CONMEBOL leagues, counter-attacking actions, ball possession (%), free-kicks and efficiency for high pressing can also be associated with increased probability of winning. In the streaming era, the very thing that defines it is what threatens to impede access to important media history and cultural heritage. Streaming's barriers to entry and its interim content catalogs challenge the actual collection and preservation of it for research and teaching purposes. If researchers and libraries do not work together to document and preserve these, we will keep losing important sources and data. From a collection perspective, we argue that streaming services consist of their catalog, metadata, and graphical user interfaces. First, we map the large-scale legal deposit collection of streaming at a national library as well as a media researcher's small-scale targeted collection. Second, we compare the resulting collections of web sites and graphical user interfaces in order to discuss methodological challenges. The findings of this comparative analysis indicate the existing deficiencies in both collections and suggest potential improvements in the collection and preservation of streaming services. Purpose: Online employee reviews have emerged as a crucial information source for business managers to evaluate employee behavior and firm performance. The purpose of this paper is to test the relationship between employee personality traits, derived from online employee reviews and job satisfaction and turnover behavior at the individual level. Design/methodology/approach: The authors apply text-mining techniques to extract personality traits from online employee reviews on Indeed.com based on the Big Five theory. They also apply a machine learning classification algorithm to demonstrate that incorporating personality traits can significantly enhance employee turnover prediction accuracy. Findings: Personality traits such as agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness are positively associated with job satisfaction, while extraversion and neuroticism are negatively related to job satisfaction. Moreover, the impact of personality traits on overall job satisfaction is stronger for former employees than for current employees. Personality traits are significantly linked to employee turnover behavior, with a one-unit increase in the neuroticism score raising the probability of an employee becoming a former employee by 0.6%. Practical implications: These findings have implications for firm managers looking to gain insights into employee online review behavior and improve firm performance. Online employee review websites are recommended to include the identified personality traits. Originality/value: This study identifies employee personality traits from automated analysis of employee-generated data and verifies their relationship with employee satisfaction and employee turnover, providing new insights into the development of human resources in the era of big data.
