The annual incidence of herpes zoster is estimated at 382 cases per 100,000 people and increases proportionally with age, from 157 per 100,000 between 15 and 24 years to 1 077 between 85 and 94 years [1]. Vaccination aims to reduce its incidence and its complications, particularly ophthalmological and pain-related, which are formidable in the elderly. Two vaccines are currently available: a live attenuated vaccine – Zostavax® marketed in France since 2015 – and more recently a recombinant vaccine – Shingrix® available since October 2023. Zonal concept is a traditional approach in land assessment. Although its principles have been known for over a hundred years, they have not yet been thoroughly evaluated using modern analytical approaches. Assessing the empirically established parameters for characterising a zonal site, establishing threshold values of significant environmental factors, along with assessing the applicability of the zonal concept, were the goals of this study. The data analysed were obtained from the robust and objective Czech National Forest Inventory database. Regression, indirect ordination, hierarchical clustering and spatial analyses of geo-information systems were used. The study revealed seven crucial environmental factors: Slope, Slope Height, Terrain Surface Texture, Negative Openness, Multi-Resolution Index of Valley Bottom Flatness, Soil Type and Soil Subtype. A graphical model of zonal/azonal sites was constructed based on calculated threshold values of the factors. This methodic approach introduces significant geomorphological information that are otherwise problematically detectable in field mapping. We suggest it is possible to use the zonal concept as a base layer for general landscape assessment. Zonal site classification can become a part of a precise land management practice, consisting of valuable empiricism of traditional landscape ecological classifications enriched by modelling in disturbance ecology and prediction of climate change effects.

Objective: Herpes zoster (HZ) is a rare disease in the pediatric population and there is a limited number of studies with few cases in the pediatric age group in our country. In this study, we aimed to provide data in this field by investigating the clinical and demographic characteristics of pediatric patients diagnosed with HZ. Material and Methods: We retrospectively scanned the files of patients diagnosed with HZ, and aged 0-16 years who presented to the dermatology department between 2018 and 2022, patients without any missing data were included. Results: Of the 56 children participating in the study, 26 (46.4%) were girls and 30 (53.6%) were boys. The mean age was 11.36±4.3 years. Eleven patients (26%) had a chickenpox history; 11 (19.6%) had a history of chickenpox vaccination. Twenty two patients (39.3%) described a trigger factor before the disease; the most common factors were psychological stress (19.6%) and infection (16.1%). Forty one patients (73.2%) had itching or pain/burning accompanying the rash. It was observed that the thoracic dermatome (55.4%) is most commonly affected. 69.6% of the cases had received systemic therapy. Ten cases (17.9%) had postinflammatory pigmentation after rash. Conclusion: Since HZ is a benign disease that can also be observed in healthy children, a detailed examination may not be required when seen in the pediatric population, and the complication rate after the rash is low in this group. The aim of the article is to explain how views on Xanthippe as a wife and Socrates as a husband were verified in modern times, i.e., how the defence of a woman considered the most unbearable in ancient Greece looked like. Four texts served as the most representative examples: Ch.M. Wieland's short essay on Xanthippe, E. Zeller's essay entitled Zur Ehrenrettung der Xanthippe and S. Pawlicki's the fictitious defence speech of Ksantypa (titled The Apology Xanthippe), and L.H. Morstin's comedy The Apology Xanthippe. The are many cases of coincidence of herpes zoster in prei-COVID-19 infection or post-COVID-19 vaccination period and some expert or specialist experiences about increased prevalence of zona in the COVID-19 era that highlights the probability of SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccine associated immune dysregulation that reactivates latent varicella zoster virus (VZV) infection. In this comprehensive comparative review we have discussed the various aspects of COVID-19 pandemic-related zona as the peri-COVID or post-vaccine zoster which is considered as one of the most prevalent dermatological adverse reactions in such circumstances and should be diagnosed and managed in the best possible way. Giriş: Nekrotizan fasiit yanına (NF); deri altı doku ve fasyaları etkileyen, saatler içinde yayılan, enflamasyon, tromboz ve nekrozla seyreden ciddi bir deri yumuşak doku enfeksiyonudur (DYDE). Sıklıkla gövde, perine bölgesi ve alt ekstremitelerde görülür. Bu yazıda herpes zoster enfeksiyonuna sekonder gelişen, baş-boyun bölgesini tutan ilerleyici bir nekrotizan fasiit olgusu sunulmuştur. Olgu: Elli yedi yaşındaki erkek hasta, dört gün önce başlayan ensede döküntü, kızarıklık ve akıntı şikayeti ile enfeksiyon hastalıkları polikliniğine başvurdu (Resim 1). Özgeçmişinde hipertansiyon ve diabetes mellitus tanıları mevcuttu. Fizik muayenesinde; ensede 4x5 cm büyüklüğünde bir alanda, zemini eritemli, ağrılı, ısı artışının eşlik ettiği herpes zoster ile uyumlu veziküler döküntüler mevcuttu. Diğer fizik muayene bulguları doğaldı. Laboratuvar verileri Tablo 1'de sunulmuştur. Hasta zonaya sekonder gelişen DYDE ön tanısıyla servisimize yatırıldı, ampirik olarak meropenem, teikoplanin ve asiklovir (iv) tedavisi başlandı. Tedavinin 3. gününde bulantı, kusma, baş ağrısı, lezyon bölgesinde nekrotik alanlar gelişmesi üzerine hasta yoğun bakım ünitesine alındı. Bilgisayarlı beyin ve boyun tomografisinde deri altında nekrotizan fasiitle uyumlu hava imajları izlendi. Hasta cerrahi debridman amacıyla plastik cerrahi ve rekonstrüksiyon bölümüne devredildi. Operasyon esnasında alınan doku biyopsi kültüründe Candida albicans üredi. Tedaviye flukonazol 1x400 mg (iv) eklendi. Hastanın izleminde sekiz kez debridman ihtiyacı oldu. Operasyonlarda alınan doku biyopsi kültürlerinde çoklu ilaç direnci olan tedavisi güç bakteriler üredi. Hasta yatışının 92. gününde desatüre olması nedeniyle entübe edildi. İzleminde ventilatör ilişkili pnömoni ve çoklu organ yetmezliği gelişti ve yatışının 103. gününde eksitus oldu. Sonuç: Herpes zoster enfeksiyonunun bir komplikasyonu olarak ciddi seyirli nekrotizan fasiit görülebilmektedir. NF fulminan bir hastalık olup, erken tanı ve etkili multidisipliner tedavi mortalite oranlarının azaltılmasında büyük önem taşımaktadır. Özellikle ekstremitelerde ortaya çıkan NF olgularında ampütasyon hayat kurtarıcı olabilir. Ancak baş-boyun bölgesinin tutulduğu durumlarda ampütasyon seçeneği olamayacağı için erken debridman ve yakın izlem mortalite oranlarını düşürmek için tek seçenek olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Benzer olgularda enfeksiyon etkeni olarak çoğunlukla Streptococcus pyogenes ve Stapylococcus aureus bildirilmektedir. Objetivo. Evaluar los efectos de la zona de habitad y sexo en la respuesta bioquímica sérica y morfométrica de Ichthyoelephas humeralis en ecosistemas loticos de la provincia Los Ríos, Ecuador. Materiales y métodos. Se identificó una de las especies nativas (I. humeralis) que más se comercializan en los cantones de Quevedo, Mocache y Fumisa de la provincia Los Ríos. Se capturaron 60 ejemplares por cada zona (180 total). Se realizó el sexado y se determinó el peso vivo, la longitud, el grosor de la cabeza, cuerpo y cola; factor de condición y bioquímica sanguínea (glucosa, colesterol y triglicéridos). Resultados. Objetivos: A nevralgia pós-herpética (NPH) é a principal complicação do herpes zoster (HZ), tendo um impacto significativo na qualidade de vida dos doentes e nos custos em saúde. Com esta revisão pretende-se avaliar a eficácia de diferentes terapêuticas utilizadas no tratamento agudo da zona na prevenção desta complicação. Fontes de dados: MEDLINE/PubMed, National Guide Clearinghouse, Canadian Medical Association Practice Guidelines, Bandolier, Evidence-Based Medicine Online, DARE, TRIP Database e The Cochrane Library. Métodos de revisão: Pesquisa de guidelines, meta-análises, revisões sistemáticas e ensaios clínicos controlados e aleatorizados publicados entre abril de 2010 e março de 2020, redigidos em inglês, português ou espanhol, utilizando os termos MeSH herpes zoster e neuralgia, postherpetic. Resultados: Dos 333 resultados obtidos na pesquisa inicial foram selecionados sete artigos para inclusão nesta revisão, nomeadamente duas meta-análises, uma revisão sistemática e quatro ensaios clínicos controlados e aleatorizados. A evidência encontrada relativamente à utilização de antivíricos, glucocorticoides ou gabapentinoides no tratamento do HZ não demonstrou benefício na prevenção da NPH. Apenas as opções por amitriptilina ou vitamina C endovenosa revelaram resultados positivos, ainda que com evidência escassa e limitada. Conclusão: Esta revisão permite concluir que nenhum dos tratamentos habitualmente utilizados no tratamento agudo do HZ previne a ocorrência de NPH. Apesar dos resultados positivos da amitriptilina e da vitamina C não existe ainda evidência suficientemente robusta que permita recomendar o uso disseminado destes fármacos na fase aguda do HZ com o intuito de prevenir esta complicação. Mais estudos são necessários neste sentido, tendo em conta a morbilidade e custos em saúde associados à NPH.

Abstract Any patient with a herpes zoster infection of the mandibular branch of the trigeminal nerve should benefit from early oral monitoring, especially in elderly population where traumatic dental prostheses are common, because osteonecrosis can occur.

Les infections virales peuvent toucher l'ensemble des tuniques oculaires et mettre en jeu la fonction visuelle à plus ou moins courte terme. Les kératites et kérato-uvéites liées au virus HSV-1 sont les atteintes les plus fréquentes. Les récurrences entraînent une opacification cornéenne irréversible qui en fait la première cause de cécité d'origine infectieuse dans les pays occidentaux, et justifient un traitement antiviral préventif au long cours. Le zona ophtalmique (10 à 20 % des zonas), peut s'accompagner d'atteintes oculaires sévères (kératites, kérato-uvéites), dont 30 % deviennent chroniques/récurrentes, et de douleurs post-zostériennes, redoutables dans le territoire trigéminé. Les rétinites nécrosantes liées aux herpesvirus (HSV, VZV, CMV), sont rares mais constituent des urgences fonctionnelles absolues nécessitant un traitement antiviral par voie intraveineuse et intravitréenne. Les conjonctivites à adénovirus constituent la première cause de conjonctivite infectieuse. Le plus souvent bénignes, elles sont extrêmement contagieuses et peuvent se compliquer de lésions cornéennes invalidantes persistant plusieurs mois, voire années. Certaines arboviroses s'accompagnent de manifestations oculaires inflammatoires. Dans le cas du Zika, les infections congénitales peuvent se compliquer d'atrophie maculaire et/ou optique. Les conjonctivites sont très fréquentes à la phase aiguë de la maladie à virus Ebola, dont 15 % des survivants présentent des atteintes inflammatoires chroniques sévères liées à la persistance du virus dans les tissus uvéaux. Enfin, dans le cadre de la COVID-19, les conjonctivites ne sont pas très fréquentes mais peuvent être inaugurales, voire au premier plan et sont associées à une excrétion virale lacrymale qui doit faire prendre toutes les précautions. Viral infections may involve all ocular tissues and may have short and long-term sight-threatening consequences. Among them, ocular infections caused by herpesviruses are the most frequent. HSV-1 keratitis and kerato-uveitis affect approximately are the leading cause of infectious blindness in the Western world, mainly because of corneal opacification caused by recurrences. For this reason, they may warrant long-term antiviral prophylaxis. Herpes zoster ophthalmicus , accounts for 10 to 20% of all shingles locations and can be associated with severe ocular involvement (keratitis, kerato-uveitis) of which a quarter becomes chronic/recurrent. Post herpetic neuralgias in the trigeminal territory can be particularly debilitating. Necrotizing retinitis caused by herpesviruses (HSV, VZV, CMV) are seldom, but must be considered as absolute visual emergencies, requiring urgent intravenous and intravitreal antiviral treatment. Clinical pictures depend on the immune status of the host. Adenovirus are the most frequent cause of infectious conjunctivitis. These most often benign infections are highly contagious and may be complicated by visually disabling corneal lesions that may last over months or years. Some arboviruses may be associated with inflammatory ocular manifestations. Among them, congenital Zika infections may cause macular or optic atrophy. Conjunctivitis is frequent during the acute phase of Ebola virus disease. Up to 15% of survivors present with severe chronic inflammatory ocular conditions caused by viral persistence in uveal tissues. Finally, COVID-19-associated conjunctivitis can precede systemic disease, or even be the unique manifestation of the disease. Utmost caution must be taken because of viral shedding in tears. Giriş: Varisella zoster virüsü primer enfeksiyondan sonra duyu sinirlerine yerleşerek latent olarak kalır. İleriki yıllarda reaktive olarak herpes zoster (zona) hastalığına neden olabilir. Zona, ileri yaşa bağlı veya hücresel immünitenin azaldığı durumlarda artış göstermektedir. Akut, ağrılı, dermatomal veziküler döküntülerle karakterize olan hastalığın insidansı son yıllarda global olarak artış göstermiştir. HIV ile yaşayan bireylerin (HİYB) %20-30'u hayatı boyunca bir ya da daha fazla zona atağı geçirir ve bu hastaların zonaya yakalanma riski, HIV seronegatif bireylere göre 15 kat daha yüksektir. Ek olarak hastalığın seyri HİYB'de atipik yerleşimli, daha şiddetli ve uzun süreli olabilmektedir. Ülkemizde hızla artan HIV enfeksiyonu oranları da düşünüldüğünde, zona tanısı alan her hastanın HIV yönünden taranması, HIV tanı oranlarının artırılmasında önemli bir yaklaşım olabilir. Bu çalışmada hastanemize başvuran zona tanılı hastaların HIV tetkik edilme durumunun ve prevalansının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Retrospektif, tek merkezli planlanan bu çalışmaya, hastanemize Ocak 2018-Şubat 2024 tarihleri arasında başvuran 18 yaş ve üzeri zona tanılı hastalar dahil edilmiştir. Hastaların başvurdukları kliniklere göre HIV tetkik edilme durumları ve tetkik edilenlerin sonuçları irdelenmiştir. Hastaların demografik ve laboratuvar bulguları hastane bilgi sisteminden elde edilmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmaya 1.231 zona tanılı hasta dahil edildi. Hastaların %54,4'ü (n=670) erkek olup medyan yaş 45 (18-97) saptandı. Hastaların 402'sinden (%32,7) anti-HIV testi istenmişti ve 9 hastada pozitif saptanmıştı (%2,2) (Şekil 1). Hastalar ilk başvurduğu kliniklere göre irdelendiğinde 1.081 hasta dermatoloji, 74 hasta acil servis, 46 hasta enfeksiyon hastalıkları ve 30 hasta diğer kliniklere (fizik tedavi ve rehabilitasyon, nöroloji, romatoloji, iç hastalıkları) başvurmuştu. Hastaların başvurduğu kliniklere göre dağılımı ve her klinikte anti-HIV bakılma durumu Tablo 1'de sunulmuştur. Kliniklerin zona tanılı hastalarda anti-HIV test istem oranlarına bakıldığında; enfeksiyon hastalıkları kliniği %67,4, dermatoloji kliniği %31,5, acil servis %28,4 ve diğer klinikler %33,3 bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Bu çalışmada anti-HIV test istemi yapılan zona tanılı tüm hastalarda HIV prevalansı %2,2 bulunmuştur. Bununla birlikte hastaların çoğu (%67,3) HIV yönünden tetkik edilmediği için gerçek prevalans bulgularımızdan farklı olabilir. Zona tanılı hastaların en sık başvurduğu klinik olan dermatoloji kliniğinde hastaların HIV tetkik edilme oranlarının çok düşük olduğu gözlenmiştir. Giriş: Zona zoster immün sistemi baskılanmış kişilerde farklı klinik tablolar ile karşımıza çıkabilir. Bağışıklığın baskılanma derecesine göre karmaşık, zor tanı alan hatta hayatı tehdit eden durumlara yol açabilir. Bu kişilerde veziküler döküntülerin ayırıcı tanısında zona hastalığının unutulmaması önemlidir. Bu yazıda üç aydır döküntüleri ve ağrısı devam eden immünsüpresif bir olgu sunulmuştur. Olgu: Psoriasis vulgaris tanısı ile yedi aydır haftada bir sertolizumab tedavisi almakta olan 38 yaşında kadın hastanın üç ay önce gövde ve bacaklarda yaygın döküntüler gelişmişti. Döküntülerin psoriasis nedenli olduğunu düşünmesi nedeniyle üç ay içinde herhangi bir tedavi almamıştı. Döküntülere vücutta yaygın ve şiddetli ağrı, ara ara olan ateş ve yutma güçlüğü şikayetinin de eklenmesi üzerine kliniğimize başvurdu. Fizik muayenede sırt bölgesinde, kollarda ve bacaklarda yaygın veziküler döküntü dışında patoloji saptanmadı. Başvuru anındaki biyokimya sonuçlarında lökosit 10830/μl, nötrofil 6600/μl, lenfosit 3390/μl, trombosit 374,000/μl, CRP <0,3 mg/l (normal aralık: 0-5), sedimentasyon 4 mm/s, AST 15 U/l ALT 10 U/l, kreatinin 0,42 mg/dl saptandı. Serolojik testlerinde HSV 1 IgG pozitif, HSV 2 IgG negatif, Kızamık IgG pozitif, Kabakulak IgG pozitif saptandı. Hastaya asiklovir 3x10 mg/kg/gün dozunda başlandı. Tedavinin ikinci gününde döküntüler ve ağrı azaldı. Tedavinin sekizinci gününde lezyonları regrese olan hasta valasiklovir 3x1000 mg reçete edilerek taburcu edildi. Bir hafta sonra poliklinik kontrolünde lezyonların tamamen regrese olduğu izlendi. Sonuç: Herpes zoster tedavi edilmeden de genellikle iki ila altı hafta süreyle seyreder ve kendiliğinden geçer. Değişken klinik görünüm ve atipik olgular nedeniyle bazı hastalarda zona tanısı zor olabilir. Yaygın herpes zoster nadirdir; bağışıklık sistemi baskılanmış hastalarda daha sık görülür. İmmünsüpresif bireylerde görülen veziküler döküntülerin ayırıcı tanısında atipik klinik seyir gösteren zonanın akla gelmesi gerekebileceğine dikkat çekmek amacıyla bu olgu paylaşılmıştır. El fréjol seco forma el 0,90% de la producción nacional ecuatoriana, en los cultivos transitorios. Los rendimientos del cultivo se ven afectados por el uso de semillas no certificadas y la siembra sin considerar ubicaciones ecológicas. El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar la adaptabilidad de cuatro variedades de fréjol Phaseolus vulgaris L. en Luz de América. Se utilizaron cuatro tratamientos con cuatro repeticiones, bajo un diseño de bloques completamente al azar; las variedades fueron: Canario, Centenario, Fanesquero blanco y Vilcabamba. Las variables evaluadas fueron: porcentaje de germinación, número de hojas por planta, altura de planta, diámetro del tallo, días a la floración, días a la fructificación, número de legumbres por planta, longitud de legumbres, número de granos por legumbre, porcentaje de afectación de enfermedades, peso de 100 granos y producción por hectárea. El rendimiento obtenido fue de 1,96, 1,01, 0,96 y 0,87 ton/ha para las variedades Centenario, Vilcabamba, F. blanco y Canario, respectivamente. En el desarrollo se concluye que Centenario tiene menor tamaño, y alcanzó mayor rendimiento; mientras Vilcabamba gastó energía creciendo, síntoma de estrés por la falta de adaptabilidad, también posee escasa resistencia a las plagas. Las variables número de hojas, diámetro del tallo, y número de granos por legumbre, resultaron ser no significativas al poseer valores aparentes.

La varicelle est une maladie quasi obligatoire si on ne vaccine pas les enfants. Bénigne chez l'enfant sain qui représente 95 % des cas, elle est plus grave chez les adolescents, les adultes et les immunodéprimés. Les surinfections bactériennes, dont la fasciite nécrosante, sont les complications les plus fréquentes, suivies des complications neurologiques (cérébellite et encéphalite) et pulmonaires. L'âge de moins de 1 an, les corticoïdes et les anti-inflammatoires non stéroïdiens représentent des facteurs de risque de complication chez les enfants sains. Le déficit de l'immunité cellulaire est un risque élevé de varicelle grave, voire mortelle. Une varicelle survenant avant la 20e semaine de grossesse expose à une fœtopathie sévère. Le zona est dû à la réactivation du virus varicelle-zona (VZV) qui, après la primo-infection, installe une latence dans les ganglions nerveux. Sa survenue chez l'enfant ne justifie pas la recherche de pathologie sous-jacente. La survenue de la varicelle avant 1 an, l'exposition in utero au VZV, l'immunodépression et les pathologies malignes majorent le risque. Bien que la vaccination contre la varicelle protège les enfants du zona, le virus vaccinal OKA peut causer la maladie. Le zona est habituellement bénin mais peut se compliquer de méningite ou d'encéphalite, d'atteinte ophtalmique, de paralysie faciale. Le VZV est par ailleurs impliqué dans la survenue d'accident vasculaire cérébral. Les soins de peau représentent l'essentiel du traitement de la varicelle et du zona. L'aciclovir (par voie intraveineuse) est réservé au traitement des formes graves et compliquées et aux immunodéprimés. La vaccination contre la varicelle n'est pas recommandée chez l'enfant en France. Les immunoglobulines spécifiques sont à nouveau disponibles (autorisation temporaire d'utilisation) et doivent être utilisées en prophylaxie post-contact chez les immunodéprimés et les nouveau-nés. Santé publique France recense une vingtaine de décès par an (70 % sont des patients de plus de 10 ans) et 3000 hospitalisations pour 700 000 cas de varicelle annuels. Il existe cependant des vaccins très efficaces et bien tolérés contre la varicelle qui, s'ils ne sont ni obligatoires, ni recommandés en population générale, peuvent être utilisés dans différentes circonstances. Le zona est une dermatose virale qui peut intéresser n’importe quelle partie du corps. La plus part des personnes atteintes d’un zona ont entre 50 à 70 ans. Toutefois son apparition chez le sujet jeune doit fait rechercher une immunodépression à VIH. Nous rapportons un cas atypique de zona révélant l’infection à VIH chez une patiente de 25 ans présentant une éruption vésiculeuse, douloureuse reposant sur un fond érythémateux localisé sur la plante du pied gauche. Le diagnostic du zona a été évoqué grâce aux éléments cliniques et réconforté par le cytodiagnostic et l’histologie. Cette localisation atypique nous a incités à demander une sérologie à VIH qui est revenue positive.

Malignancy, immunosuppressive drug use, and diabetes mellitus (DM) are defined as risk factors for herpes zoster. A 58-year-old male patient with the diagnosis of DM was admitted to the emergency room with the complaints of double vision. His neurological examination revealed under activity of the right lateral rectus muscle and hypoactive deep tendon reflexes. In this report, we discuss a rare case of isolated abducens nerve palsy that occurred after postviral infection in the patient.

Le zona de l'enfant est une situation rare mais souvent bénigne et ne nécessitant qu'un traitement symptomatique. Les antiviraux sont exceptionnellement utilisés devant les formes compliquées qui sont l'apanage surtout des immunodéprimés ou de localisation ophtalmique. Pour le nourrisson, il s'agit le plus souvent d'une contamination in utero au cours d'une varicelle maternelle. Nous rapportons deux cas de Zona chez des enfants immunocompétents. Le premier chez un nourrisson et le deuxième chez un enfant de 7 ans.

Herpes zoster is a rare, usually benign disease in children, only requiring symptomatic treatment. Antivirals are used under exceptional circumstances in patients with complex forms of herpes zoster, usually affecting immunocompromised persons, or with ophthalmic involvement. In newborns, it is more often due to intrauterine contamination during maternal varicella. We report two cases of herpes zoster in immunocompetent children. Artykuł przedstawia stanowisko jednego z najwybitniejszych homiletów starożytności chrześcijańskiej w temacie roli kobiety w małżeństwie i rodzinie. W opracowaniu ukazano poglądy Chryzostoma, które wyróżniały go na tle innych ojców Kościoła. W pierwszej części przedstawiono kontekst kulturowy nauczania biskupa Konstantynopola. Ukazano postrzeganie roli kobiety w kulturze antycznej grecko­‑rzymskiej, w judaizmie oraz w nauczaniu św. Pawła z Tarsu. W drugiej części artykułu przedstawiono poglądy Chryzostoma na temat kobiety jako żony i matki. W trzeciej części opracowania ukazano relacje między kobietą i mężczyzną. Celem artykułu było ukazanie wyjątkowości nauczania św. Jana Chryzostoma na temat roli kobiety w rodzinie chrześcijańskiej. Ta wyjątkowość przejawiała się w docenianiu wartości żony i matki jako współodpowiedzialnej za wychowanie dzieci i mającej swój aktywny udział w kształtowaniu chrześcijańskiego charakteru rodziny.

Within the realm of traditional commerce, the so-called corner stores or grocery shops boast the greatest amount of singularities within this genre. In terms of their registration before governmental institutions, it is the least informal and given its geographical immobility it is the one with the least territorial scope and therefore, the least advantageous with regards to proximity. Using the of local grocery shops in the metropolitan area of Guadalajara, Mexico as a point of reference, the objective of this paper is to analyze the sociodemographic characteristics of these establishments existence and the role that these shops play in regards to food supply within said conurbation area. To this end, a survey was applied to a statistically representative sample of shop owners and customers. In keeping with traditional commerce, their unit sales are comprised of small volumes of merchandise and their operation based on family structure, scarce infrastructure, and little support equipment. Thus, we conclude that proximity to their customers provides them with a significant advantage, their continuance in the market is strengthened since said advantage favors the distribution of products with a high energy content, generally supplied directly from large companies that produce these goods. Similarly, we highlight that the competition that exists among these establishments is normally inclined towards those that treat their customers better and those that offer a wider variety of products. Despite the growing presence of large retail chains, the customers of these grocery shops expect to continue shopping there. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
