Abstract
- The article discusses the disadvantages and benefits of employer sponsored employee wellness programs. A discussion of the U.S. government's role in employee wellness programs, initiated as a result of the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and an exception to the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, is presented. The creation of a government sponsored wellness program which uses tax credits, and the legal aspects of wellness programs are discussed.
