Abstract
- The article discusses implications for the U.S. Democratic Party of the growing appeal among liberal party members of Senator Elizabeth Warren. Warren has been outspoken on issues such as wealth inequality and the influence on government of big banks. Warren's populism could make her a contrary voice to former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who may run for President in 2016 and is thought by some to be friendlier to business and more interested in economic growth.
