Abstract

The article presents a study on the characteristics of oseltamivir-resistant influenza A (H1N1) pdm09 viruses in the U.S. from 2013 to 2014. The study analyzes 4,968 influenza-positive specimens for virologic surveillance and neuraminidase (NA) inhibition assay for oseltamivir and zanamivir. It is suggested that majority of the patients had H275Y oseltamivir resistance-conferring neuraminidase substitution which calls for local surveillance for neuraminidase inhibitor susceptibility.
