Abstract

Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Christine Todd Whitman's announcement that she would leave the administration of country's President George W. Bush on June 27, 2003 has kicked off speculation about her successor as the agency's chief. Just hours after Whitman delivered her resignation letter during an Oval Office visit, rumors about her possible replacement began flying. Bush has not announced his candidate, but sources speculate that David B. Struhs, secretary of Florida's Dept. of Environmental Protection may have the inside track. Another person mentioned for the post is Josephine Cooper, president and CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers.
