Abstract
- The article discusses the concept of "tort tourism" which involves foreign plaintiffs who circumvent legal limitations by filing tort-related lawsuits in foreign courts outside of the U.S. in order to secure large awards and attempt to collect upon their legal judgments in other nations. The author's call for the development of a U.S. federal law on foreign judgment recognition is mentioned, along with information about American state laws and forum shopping. Personal jurisdiction is examined.
