Abstract
- The article reports on the requirement of a next-generation aircraft by the U.S. Air Force (USAF), for which the aerospace firms Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Northrop Grumman are competing. It presents views of U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff General Mark Welsh and U.S. Air Combat Command Chief General Mike Hostage on the same. It highlights the Combat Avionics Programmed Extension Suite which integrates U.S. Air Force F-16 aircrafts with an active electronically scanned array radar.
