The spectrum of subjects the IFLA Newspapers Section (in future: News Media Section) has to deal with has broadened considerably due to retrodigitization and the development of new digital news media. Conferences in 2014 treated - among others - the following subjects: digital deposit copy collections and new tasks of libraries concerning news media, digitization of newspapers, especially the Europeana Newspapers Project, use outlines and activities of libraries for attractive, user-friendly access to historic newspapers.
